Been having problems with weak signal unless I'm right next to my access point and at work my phone can't even function on the Wi-Fi. It connects but won't do anything over it. Have to go back to 4g . any ideas

If using an extended battery...most aftermarket back covers have very weak signal...buy an OEM one

So only go with HTC extended batteries?

No, but the HTC back cover should be used if issues arise. Other manufacturers, especially the cheaper knock-offs, often have issues with the back cover and the antenna contacts. The HTC extended back cover can be purchased seperately.
Acejavelin is right..I have 2 extended batteries but and 2 back covers...one is aftermarket and gets really bad signal and one is manufacturer made by HTC and works perfect...you can get em online fairly cheap

Ah OK, that might be my problem. I got one of those Laza 3240mah batteries, and it's so big the normal extended battery case wouldn't fit. You have to use the back cover that comes with the battery in order for it to fit.

Not me. So far so good. But I feel it may not last long since I swap batteries often.
My battery life is horrible cause of heavy use. I have seven batteries I swap out when drained.

Yea, I've tried all those apps, task killers, battery savers. Battery life is my least concern now since I have batteries.
My problem is connections. In high 4G areas I'm usually only getting 3g and I get a lot of no data connections.

Dayum. How do you charge all those?
Just a suggestion, see how your battery life fares if you keep your screen brightness under 25% (if you can).
I use two wall chargers. I average 3-4 batteries a day which works out well for me. I've tried the lowest setting I could possibly go with still seeing the screen, didn't seem to help much believe it or not.
Since I've gotten the backup batteries I just have it on auto brightness now.
Aside from the battery life, I'm more concerned now about the limited 4G I get and no data at all at times.
I would also think even though the battery cover is built well, I think it will wear out from all the removals.

I worry about same thing removing frequently. I found this supposedly oem but from Hong Kong. But if you look at images has contacts like the original back. Ordered and will have it in about another week or so.

Wow, 16 bucks for that, I can like 5 bucks. LOL
I guess it is original equipment though, so may actually be worth it to have one as a backup. Thanks for link

I'm looking to buy a new battery because this 1400 mah just isn't cutting it. I want to buy a bigger one but I don't want all that extra bulk in the back and have to replace my stock battery door. Can someone tell me the biggest battery mah wise that I can buy w/o having to get rid of my battery door?

Seidio has a 1600. That's the biggest i've seen, and it looks like most reviewers are finding performance similar to stock.

Go name brand when you do. I have a 1800 mah no name and its not that great. Might be better than stock but not much.

wow, that was nice!!!
Sadly you won't be able to get much more performance out of a stock-sized battery, the manufacturer usually fits the largest battery they can in the phone. Any third party claiming to have a higher capacity is usually lying about the specs.
I would instead focus on software tweaks, I can easily get a full day out of my stock battery with moderate use.
I don't lower any of my settings. I keep the push email. Sometimes I use Live Wallpaper. I let my device pull LTE data speeds whenever I want. With the extended battery it lasts longer than I need in a day. Other than needing to order a case I don't mind. The bulge in the back is not as bad as some people made it seem. Pros outweigh the cons for me.

app helped my battery life
I'm new here and the TB is my first Android phone. I came across an app that has helped with my battery life..... called keyboard backlight controller. It allows you to turn off the two lights that eluminate the four soft keys on the bottom of the phone. I've only been using it a couple days, but really seems to have helped by having those lights off, not HUGE diff, but anything helps.
Not sure if this was the right place to post this, but thought it might be helpful to others. It does require root.
For those that are always looking for more battery life and do not mind carrying a extra piece of hardware. I have recently purchased the Anker2 external battery found at this link: http://www.amazon.com/8400mAh-Exter...PRQ4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1328040410&sr=8-2
This lasted me on a 12 hour+ trip with juice to spare. its relatively small and can fit in a pocket of small bag. Just putting it out there for the community as an option.
Great Recommendation
This definitely is a great recommendation. I bought it last week and have been using it. Love the battery charger. Better investment than spare batteries out there.
Thanks for the heads up!
Thought it's great for my upcoming trip! Having to carry the cable around is a bummer, but better than constantly opening the battery door I guess!
Has anyone here bought the 2000mAh Extended batteries?
How long do they run for??

That's some good life there. How do you like dealing with the extra weight of that? Also is the case a rubber feel or smooth? I'm trying the ZL 3000 because I wasn't sure about the extra bulk and read it covers the speaker.

just returned the one I bought on amazon. I think I could handle the size and weight (even though they are substantial), I couldn't handle the loss of signal due to the battery covering the antennas. They claim there isn't signal loss but it was very obvious.

The battery has a small area cut into it to path the speaker out the bottom of the phone. It sounds pretty loud to me, but I will have to swap back to the original battery to check the difference.
I have gone 3 days of pretty medium usage. Its definitely an impressive battery!

Yep same here through my second cycle now. When it gets to 1% I power off remove battery and replace and power on to 4-15%. Normally run a battery waster app to drain. Been meaning to exercise same principle to charging but lazy about it. When I get through 5 cycles I'll probably check out one of the calibration apps. Crossing fingers...

Its pretty hefty but I've gotten used to it. I would say it triples weight and thickness of the phone. IMO peace of mind knowing my phone will always last all day no matter what I throw at it is worth it. Lol coming from a iPhone I had "battery shock".

This thing is a beast! This is first day after initial charge. Pretty heavy use. Stock battery would still be going as well but with only maybe 25% instead of 77%.
I did notice that my percentage actually goes up by 1% occasionally even I turn screen off. You guys get that as well?
