I'm not sure how advertising for the G2 is in the rest of the world, but I just flew into Jakarta yesterday and they had about 4 tall, thin billboards advertising LG and the G2! Much further down the road was a single Samsung billboard for the Note 3. I'd have to say that the impact wasn't as strong, maybe from non-repetition?
Beyond that, I have heard some great deals such as getting a $100 voucher and free Bluetooth headset. The bonus is that it seems to be cheaper than what prices I have seen for the US.
Go LG, go!
I see a lot of commercials for it on TV here in the US. Amazon has deals for the G2 as low as $99.00 bucks US
Nine in the UK that I've seen. Poor here...

Awesome! I was talking to my brother earlier and he was telling me that he had read posts where people were saying LG is supplanting themselves as the #2 android seller next to Samsung. I hope so, but the biggest battle won't be the phone, it'll be support.
In Canada a few ads on the radio and some posters here and there.
Pretty good so far, I'm not sure how well its selling though.
Was released on Oct 4th here, got mine Oct 9th and was the first person to buy one from that location.
Tmobile is selling alot of them here in Chicago

Wow you're trotting Asia now eh? haha. Oh btw, Indonesians prefers Blackberrys and iPhones. Samsung is the minor.
Here in Singapore, everybody wnats the best. Lol. You can see the queues here upon launch of a new new device. Lol.
I get my G2 when they first launch in Jakarta, not the pre order. They offering cashback from voucher advertised in newspaper for IDR 500.000. Free bluetooth HBS 730, shopping voucher IDR 1.000.000, Line,s Doll and free data for 6 month. If paid with credit card from famous local bank for 12month installament, you get free 1 month.
Pricelist IDR 6.799.000, I pay 5.799.000 + bonuses.
Today they still doing marketing roadshow, give same bonuses but no cashback.
Sorry info using IDR currency, you can convert it in to yours.
Btw, they launched on 28 sep 2013.
And now have after sale marketing promotuin, G2 owner can give the testimonial to their website and will get G2 Flip Case, power bank, USB OTG and shopping voucher.
So..Wish me luck.

@m0ngstr0us - I live in Asia at the moment. Indonesians do prefer Blackberry's, but I've been watching the slow switch to iPhones and Androids. A majority still use Blackberry for work, but it seems like I meet a lot of people that are using iPhone or Android as their primary now.
@gaindauz - Kamu punya link untuk setelah iklan promosi? Can you provide the link for the after sale marketing promotion?
Hot damn look at all the stuff they bundle in Jakarta! I got mine from America and they didn't throw in nothing and I had to fight like hell to get them to price match Costco. In fact, I had to fight them to even get them to sell it to me because they said they had none in stock when their computer said they had 5 but there were none in the case. Even though I told them I stopped in the day before launch and the clerk showed them to me... They insisted there was a mistake and they had none so I left until the afternoon and they miraculously had them when I returned.
I get invited to live in Sweden, Australia and Canada by friends all the time and it's about time I took them up on that. This country needs an enema.

Thanks! There is also a competition from the LG Global site here.
@xyltha - Agreed. I think the US is too saturated for them to market like some companies do here. I have not heard of Samsung doing this, but they are the number one choice here for Android, so LG is trying to get a foothold. When I lived in CA, I always purchased second-hand phones just so that I could get a deal.
Anyways, check the link if you want to enter the Global competition.

That's funny. I just read the numbers the other day for top selling cell phone manufacturers by marketshare..
1. Samsung 35%
2. Apple 20 something %
3. LG 4%
Nowhere close to the top 2, but they're in 3rd. lol.

I never said they were. If you re-read my post, I said cell phone manufacturers, not android phone manufacturers. My point was they are 3rd overall out of all cell phone manufacturers. My second point was their small amount of market share doesn't come close to samsung even after adding in dumb phones and windows phones. In the grand scheme of things, while they may be 3rd overall or 2nd behind Samsung for androids, they still have a long way to go to really become a true competitor.
I'm glad that marketing is still going strong. My last phone, the LG Nitro, never had any commercials or any sort of advertising. The dev community reflected that. I'm glad to see this device getting a good amount of dev support.

@TNT321BOOM - That sucks. I was never really into phones until the S3. I decided to see what all the rage was about and got lucky that the one I chose had a huge dev community. LG is doing better, so I expect them to start enticing more devs to come.
Seen quite a bit of advertising for the G2. Pleasantly surprised. This phone deserves to be considered by most people. It's a very solid device.

So I've been thinkign about buying a note 2. Have purchased a razr last year (13 months ago) I'm not elegible for an upgrade; but it has god awful battery life (it predates the maxx; which pissed me off).
-
So I wanted to check verzion final price on the phone; went to website; add it to cart month-to-month; then wanted to see if i could actually purchase it. Nope; have to add a plan (as a side note the plans have been raised to $20 so without discountes the $80 plan is now $100). Wiat this is month-to-month - I don't need (or want) a plan so I hit the chat button. Rep comes on and I tell them the problem. You have to add a plan they tell me. We can always remove it later if you want but to purchase you will need (another) plan. But I don't want a freaking plan I just want the phone. I'm sorry we can't sell you a phone without selling you a plan but ....
-
So not only do they charge more for the phone than any other brand (at&t, sprint, ...) and then they break features on the phone adding their own local hacks (block call and similar); they won't even sell the bloody thing. Maybe that is a hint !
I ran into that too, but I went to a local vz store and bought mine the day they where released with no problem.
You should also realize you don't need to buy your phone from Verizon, there are many other ventures that are selling the Note 2 both oncontract and off.
There site may just be flawed pick it up in store if you need.

Well I was thinking amazon; they tend to be good about return/exchanages if there is an issue and as a company I think i prefer them to verizon.
-
I did find a use one for $450 that is tempting but I won't be going home for a couple of weeks; maybe I'll wait and see if it is still for sale - but i worry a bit about warranty; while $450 is a good price; at $600 or $650 which is more common I think maybe that warrany is worth the few extra dollars.

Sure can if you want to pay $800. Actually they sell it via best buy. There is suppsoe to be a 'developer' version direct from samsung but i couldn't find it on their website; they sure like to hide such things.
You can get the Maxx battery put on your razr. My brother had his done through a company and they even gave him a warranty for it. Just thought I would share. Funny thing is that his phone now says razr maxx under about phone .

You're wasting your time (and money!) trying to buy from Verizon. It's extremely easy to pick one up BNIB from eBay or Craigslist. Worst case scenario you'll save $50. Best case you'll find somebody trying to offload a gift they don't want and save a lot more. Mine, the guy hadn't even taken out of the box. Found on Craigslist, he wanted $575.

Yea, that's me. Good to see you here, I still have two Rezounds.
I really loved that phone but they seem awfully slow and laggy now compared to the N2 when I play with them.
This is kinda funny, I have a 12 year old daughter that plays soccer and I help coach the team. One of the Moms from the team was telling me how much she hated her older android phone and was planning to use an upgrade to buy a new iphone (and lose her unlimited data plan to do it).
I showed her one of the ROMed and highly tweaked/unlocked etc Rezounds and offered to give it to her for free (and she could have kept her unlimited data package). She basically said "no thanks, I never want to see another android phone at this point"
She bought a new iphone the next day and when I asked her a few weeks later how she liked it she responded "I absolutely love it, this is what I should have bought in the first place"

For $575 I might take a chance on it, but there is not a chance I would buy one off ebay or craigs list to save $50 over buying straight from Verizon.
Log in to the site, then it will let you buy it without adding a plan.

I completely agree and I have an ipad2 (I'm typing on it rightnow)
I bought the ipad way back when they very first came out and it's the first apple product I have ever owned (except my 12 year old daughter has an ipod touch) It is the 64 gig with both WiFi and 3g. I have done Windows mods/repairs etc for years and home build all my PCs.
I really wanted an android tablet but all the android tablets that I tried back then sucked. They where all laggy/slow etc and the ipad just blew them away with its smooth glitch free operation.
I loved the ipad at first but the more I used it, the more the limitations of it really started to annoy me. Now, I hate the thing and would really like to sell it and buy an android tablet but I have so many apps etc in it (it is jailbroken) that I don't really want to dump it either.
The thing that really annoys the living sh** out of me is, I started posting on an apple message board (very similar to this one but only for iphones/ipads/ipods etc.) EVERY SINGLE TIME I tried to get help for something that irritated me about the ipad, I would get flamed like crazy by 50 a-holes claiming the ipad was absolutely perfect just the way it stood and if I didn't like it I was an idiot and should go buy something else.
I couldn't believe it, I was not trolling AT ALL, just asking legitimate questions and most of the posters (who where technically retarded) could not stand for anybody to post even the tiniest criticism of their Apple products.
I sort of addressed this at the start. First the note 2 is $700 at amazon and verizon; the $800 price is via samsung website which uses bestbuy. For $450 or $500 I would be willing to buy it used in the right situation (there was one 'new in box' for $450 but it sold pretty quickly). However at $625-$650 I tink I would rather have the warranty. Locally I've not seen one below $625 and on ebay folks are trying to sell them with cracked screens for > $600.

If that used one was a legitimate sale and not beat up (not a CL scam), it's already sold. That's dirt cheap for a GN2. Even bad esn GN2's sell on eBay for that much. A reasonable price for a like new GN2 will be between $5-600 on CL. More anywhere else online.

A less expensive option from Verizon.
If you are already 12 months or so into a contract with shared data, another option is to get it on a new line ($299) then cancel your old line and pay ETF (approx $230 if you're 12 months into your contract), total $529 plus tax from Verizon with full warranty and support. If you want to keep your old number just port it out to Google Voice.
I considered this when it first came out, and confirmed it would work at my Verizon store, but decided to pay full price to avoid entering yet another new 24 month contract.
Yea I thought of something similar; switching to at&t (I have another thread). The more I look at how these companies work the less I like them; Kind of hope google offers a (good) phone service alternative as is currently rumored. Its not just the prices but on top of the prices the crap they stuff/cram/ram/whatever up the users whatever.

I use Dolphin on Android and they have a web app for IOS as well. There are options, but the majority of android users don't even know they can use a different browser, and they don't even care. The majority of android users don't take advantage of any/all of the features android offers over IOS, so it's not hard to see why IOS is perfectly fine for so many people.
I was very excited at the notion of getting my N3 today. I drive like a mad man to the Sprint store closest to my home. I was expecting to see SOME type of crowd...(2 p.m.).the store was absolutely empty! So I tell the rep that I want to buy the N3, she said they never got any, not even 1 for launch day? In fact, she said that during the morning conference call, there was no mention of the N3 at all, WTF? She didn't know model numbers or anything else about it, do people really hate the Samsung line that much? After driving to the 3rd Sprint store, I bought the only one that was shipped to their store. Overall, I'm kind of miffed that even the store reps aren't/weren't prepared, knowledgeable or even slightly enthusiastic about this launch, but I'm glad I got my phone!
i went straight to best buy and got mine this morning but they did say they had a limited quantity and no accessories.. so i went to the sprint store around the corner to get a case.
they were excited to see mine said they have never seen the phone and didnt get any in
Local Clearwater store had plenty. Despite all the hype of the Note 3, it's always a sleeper at the Sprint store. The same thing happened last year at the Note 2 launch, and that was even more of a bigger hype since it is the first time the Note series is available from Sprint.
You took the time to complain because there was no rabid crowd like the iPhone zealots do every year? You should be thankful. The store I was at had limited stock AND some stores got their shipments and could not locate them.

I had an appointment at Best Buy for 10:00 a.m. this morning. There weren't many people when I arrived but by the time I was done (took almost an hour!) there was a line of about a dozen people and and lots of talk about the Note 3.
Overall I am much more impressed with the look of the phone and the soft texture of the back; much better than I thought it might be based on many comments in the forums.
Best Buy also had the Galaxy Gear but it was tethered and the security device made the watch look so thick and impossible to test fit. The whole presentation did nothing to help sell the device. Overall from what I could see it looked nice but not for $300. I think Samsung and/or Best Buy really missed an opportunity by not offering some kind of Note/Gear bundle. Even $50 discount might have made me consider getting both.

I was passing on an observation, not really meant to be a complaint. But it was if they had no idea that it was a launch date, no display units, no in-store posters, like they hadn't even heard of the phone. I just found it strange, maybe others here don't.
All the stores in Dallas/Ft.Worth got at least 10-20. I got there at 9am with 1 guy waiting and by the time i left after i kept telling the salesman i dont have to give them my phone that is not under contract..... I saw about 4 people leave the store with them.

We are smartphone enthusiasts. Sprint employees or corporate generally do not care. If they do, they would be working with Sony to push their XPERIA line. With a little encouragement and dealing, Sony will add a CDMA version. Look at the mistake with the uniband Note 3 and the lack of waterproof phone.
Get a couple of enthusiasts from XDA to the Sprint corporate board room and the company will be profitable real fast. Sprint corporate is often clueless just like the people at HP, just like the idiots at LG and HTC that decides their phone do not need an SD card. They make $5 mistake that cost them lots of unsold phones and hundreds of millions. Samsung don't have to beat them when they keep making stupid decision like that. Of course, this is just IMHO.
If I was managing the Sprint corporate store, you bet I will be promoting the Note 3 or any flagship phone launch with posters, display, cases, hooking it up to the smart dock, etc.. Look at the home page at Sprint. They are pushing the Iphones. Nothing wrong with that but they should be pushing any new flagship phone launch. They do not have the passion like the John Legre dude at T Mobile.

Thats because no one is trying to hear they only have one option for a plan. lol If you start advertising the Note 3 also people need to be informed that there plan is changing. People hate switching plans especially when the store reps even have a hard time explaining the new plans. Most people can care less about a new phone every yr. We are the minority. I personally thought you get $15 off the plan immediately. Then they tell me you have to wait 2 months. Just very confusing.

My sentiments exactly. I dread going to my corporate sprint store. Yesterday, however, i was plesantly suprised that there was no traffic and i was served instantly upon walking into the store. TWICE. By 12 tho, it was filling up and i was glad i was finished.
It is very weird, regardless of what some will have you believe. I was first at one of my local stores to get one (was the only one in the store for the hour or so it took to futz with my account and activate the phone. Got there at store opening). They had not even taken them out of the shipping box yet. Had to go back to the store this morning and they said that I am still the only one to have gotten one. Inexplicable.
I realize the price bump to give preference to Apple (don't agree with it, but understand) but it's almost like Sprint didn't even want this phone to launch at all. Last to announce launch date. No marketing at all. With millions of Note and Note 2's sold, and several million Note 3's already sold world wide, I really can't figure out what's going on. I have seen companies do a lot of weird things, but whatever is going on with Sprint and the Note 3 is beyond me. Sprint's overall lineup of phones is horrendous anyway, getting a true flagship phone should be more of a big deal to them.
I have to say that I love this phone. Coming from a beat up Epic 4G Touch, this is like upgrading from a Pentium 4 to an i7. This is also the first time I have been able to use LTE and I love it.
There is a business aspect to this. Now trust me I don't want to give Sprint more credit than they deserve for being smart because at the retail level they are any thing but smart. However, the bigger push for Apple in all the stores may be a business decision and by design. If you recall, Sprint had to commit to hundreds of millions if dollars to Apple when they got the iPhone line.
Retail stinks anyhow for all manufacturers. I used to be a vp of salrs for a PC company and always felt like being held hostage to retail reps who can't add any value. I recall the days of ComputerLand when I got them to carry my new really cool laptop. There were two versions and we spent a lot of money and time training and motivating their retail team for the launch. I secret shopped the stores and when I asked the sales team what was the difference between model 1 and 2 he said $199 ....I was smart enough to calculate that myself ....the price was on the display.
Yesterday was another good example. I went to the Sprint store and there were no notes on display although they were in inventory. Then I drove to the Best Buy mobile store. Again nothing on display but a bunch in stock. Talked to store manager who said she was given a demo unit by Samsung a few days ago but didn't open it. She also had a Gear which she said she hasn't opened.
A Samsung experience in BestBuy stores is a good idea to help overcome the retail inefficiencies but ultimately we will pay the extra cost. No wonder internet commerce is a multi billion dollar channel

I almost teared up reading this........ Everything you have stated is correct...
Sprint isn't a very effective VAR for Samsung products and I think they are in so deep with the fruit that they are beginning to regret their metric quotas they are obligated to meet on a quarterly basis in order to be in compliance with the distribution contract they signed in order to get into the very lucrative (Icraze) business model/ecosystem.
I wish Samsung would open a retail brick and mortar but the cult-ish following isn't near the same level as Apple.
So for the near future, we will have to go through the regular channels and hopefully the Samsung experience @ BB can get a foothold and become a starting off point for something better and a more customer orientated experience for Samsung users.
Only a question of time before Sony abandons electronics altogether as a corporation. It is their financial services, specifically life insurance, that provides profits and support the business.

Bye bye Sonyyy
Hmmm...I'm not sure why you seem to think it's "only a question of time" before Sony gets out of electronics. These past couple of quarters have been their only good ones in a while, and they came as a result of the new corporate strategy with a big mobile push. It doesn't make any sense for them to start winding down now. All the CEO said was that considering the amount of resources it takes to crack the US market, it makes more sense for them to consolidate and strengthen their base in Japan and Europe before attempting to spread out.
If you ask me, it sounds very reasonable, and I think it's a great sign that Sony now has management that is capable of analyzing their situation and coming up with a concrete, step-by-step plan for improving it. As opposed to, for instance, HTC, who is just flailing about with no apparent direction.

Agreed. Nothing in that article points to anything showing Sony will pull out of the US. They will probably continue to sell their phones unlocked through their website without investing tons in brand name or working with carriers. For now at least.

I can only speak of Oceania where I am from. Sony devices are the most expensive. e.g.
Sony LED 52" is $3,900
LG LED 52" is $2,200
Samsung LED 52" is $2,900
Sony is renown here for a status symbol. No one in their right mind (only the rich) buy their brands. Their mobiles have come down in price a lot, and their Z1 and Ultra were similar prices to the S4 and Note 3. Otherwise I wouldn't have bought it.
In saying that they do particularly well in Asia. So saying that they will no longer sell electronics is mental. Perhaps in America.

What??? How do people come up with the conclusion that Sony is "exiting" the US market? And scantlin of phonedog is actually a paid reporter, and she said she will miss them!
Leaving is NOT what the CEO said.
"Our biggest priority is maintaining our share in Japan or increasing it ... But getting into the U.S. market requires a lot of resources and marketing, so we have to go one step at a time."
Even the guy at the Verge said "Sony is leaving.... for now". This newage electonic media and "news", the Internet! These reporters just crank the news out, like their articles don't get edited and verified by a second person before they are publised.
All the man did was point out the importance of maintaining the overseas market share, and the difficulty of penetrating the US market, which they will do 1 step at a time.

This is simply what some people would like to see. Like that they can feel better buying something else and wish to make people go the same way as they do. Sony is a brand that put a lot of money on development and build, and they have hard time to be able to compete with Samsung and LG who flood the market with heavy marketing and communication. Marketing and communication are really expensive and so for companies who do it a lot, mean most of the price of the devise is for cover marketing fees.

No offense, but that's old news. Everybody knows Sony's electronics division has been losing money for a while. But now that they have actually managed to start making inroads in this area again, why would they quit? They're obviously determined to turn the electronics division around. I think Hirai meant just what he said.
They're now one of the top mobile manufacturers and they recently publicly said they're aiming to be in the top three which I reckon they can achieve. I like the fact that they support the Dev community, and I think their recent line up for both mobile and laptop is impressive. Their build quality is up there way past Samsung.

I agree, there's been no indication that they are dramatically abandoning the US phone market, as some have implied. And even if they did, do we really care? That wouldn't likely have any effect on XZU owners in the US. Virtually all of whom purchased the international version via the internet, which is "global" in nature.
As long as Sony has a solid international warranty and offers full quad band GSM support for use in the US, the off-contract and unlocked international route is the way to go. Besides, who wants more subsidized on-contract phones anyways?

Sony is launching the world's first 4K Ultra HD download service. Films will cost $7.99 to rent and $29.99 to purchase.
"Thomas Halleck / International Business Times"
4K films will cost $29.99 to own from the service, and rentals will cost $7.99. Television episodes are also available for $3.99 each.
I doubt Sony would start a 4k download service that goes with their 4K TV's if they are going to stop their electronic business.
Sony just announced the Xperia Z1 and Ultra are going to be officially released in the US.
http://www.slashgear.com/sony-xperia-z1-and-ultra-usa-editions-appear-off-contract-15301394/
The Sony Xperia Z Ultra works with a pricing at MSRP $649.99 (HSPA+, model C6802), $679.99 (LTE, model C6806) in black, white or purple. Meanwhile the smaller device in the Xperia Z1 works with MSRP $669.99 (HSPA+) in black, white or purple. Again, while these devices may appear with carrier subsidies in the future, for now they’re all off-contract.

Amazing, they still only have the note 2 out? Sometimes I really, really wonder if people even try. Here's the most powerful phone out right now and you don't even displace the note 2 that's on display?
Are they just trying to clear out note 2 stock?
Took me a little while to find one. (They lie)
Bought it off contract. The sales rep said they didn't have any more Note 3 in stock. I asked the manager, and they magically found one.
The sales guy the entire time was being an asshole, because they don't collect commission on off contract sales.
Did you ask them? I asked and I received. They had a note 2 on display also.

not to defend them, but there are a lot of Verizon Stores that look like the official stores, but are only "authorized retailers." These places tend to not have the latest phones. I've been in two separate legitimate VZ stores since launch.... both of them had the N3 on display.
That is interesting. I visited two different Verizon corporate stores (not resellers) before launch, and they both assured me there would be plenty of Note 3s available for purchase on October 10. I didn't preorder because I figured I'd have no problem getting one on release day (which was correct). Did you try other stores?

I wouldn't say they don't care about android at all. They paid a ton of money for the Droid license, so Verizon probably wants salespeople to push those over other android phones. But iphone doesn't need to be pushed. Most iphone buyers walk into stores knowing that is what they will get. It's the sheep mentality.

Same thing happened to me, I was told by the local corp store that they had plenty of both colors in stock but when I said I was paying full retail they lied and said they had sold out. So I went home, waited an hour and called them and was told they had plenty in stock. I explained that I was just in the store and they were out, and then was told they just got a shipment. So I go back to the store and a different clerk tells me they have them in stock, but when she finds out I am paying full retail she then says she cannot sell me a phone because all of their Note 3s are "allocated ". Store manager was an ass. I then went to bestbuy about 30 minutes away but they were sold out, then I saw another verizon corp store so I tried it and had no problem. In fact they even offered me a 6gb upgrade plan with a free watch for the same price, if I would give up unlimited data.
Very upset that my local verizon store lied to me and then became very rude about not selling me a phone at full retail.

What a bunch of douchebags. I am surprised that store sells anything to anyone.
I discovered long ago that making a friend at a phone store can change your whole experience. If I were you, I would do some social engineering at the store farther away, and never go back to the local store. I would also file a complaint, either by calling Verizon or via their web site. And mention employee names if you remember them. It may not change anything, but then again it might. Some of those employees may have a complaint file, and yours may be the final straw. At the very least, you will have a little satisfaction of having done *something*.

I went to two corporate stores and only 1 had it a note 3 on display. Given the other store was partially under construction. While I was there it looks like the contractors blew a circuit since a bank of phones stopped charging and the display went dark.

Well that's just not true at all. And generally Verizon screws the indirect channel of stores and makes new phones (note 3) very unprofitable. They try to put out the phones that generate the most profit and so we're clear is never iPhones (everybody and their mother just wants one) They're not lazy.... They're just trying to run a business.

I work for a Verizon retailer. The store never makes a large amount of money on the high end phones. There is a slim margin for profit on the high end devices. We have live displays of every high end phone and we typically get them on launch day. The only exception is with iphones where we get them a week or so after launch. There are several different types of Verizon retailers you can go to. Some are authorized sellers, some are premium retailers etc... What sucks is it really does vary location to location.

Says October 11th and $498. Seems like the legit Samsung site.
http://www.samsung.com/sg/news/local/samsung-gear-s-and-gear-circle-enhances-the-smart-wearable-experience
Is that only a Singapore date?
That's what I'm wondering, either way gives me hope of a US October release. Personally I'd like to grab my 4 and Gear S at the same time, like I did last year with my Note 3, Gear and Note 10.1 2014 in one purchase, made for an overwhelmingly good, fun night lol. But I'd like to kick start my Note 4 with a Gear S attached to it.
that`s about what $400 US?
No idea, I'd pay it though! Just need some US info, I'm more excited about the watch than any other device right now.
As much as I want one. I need to see a full review with a production model.

Eh, most product reviews are usually by idiots in my opinion that have no idea what they are looking at, I realized this last year with the Gear 1, people are still referencing uneducated early reviews about the Gear 1 when talking about the Gear S, I'm still using my Gear 1 that was "so horrible on battery" lol and its awesome on battery.
The reviewers usually know much less than we but occasionally proved useful information.
We still need to know full specs and capabilities.
Agreed, I'm a huge fan of reviews and unboxing videos prior to a purchase but I take them with a grain of salt and worst case scenario I just most stores return policy.
I find it odd that this watch is released before the Note 4 or Edge.
Based upon the leaked Australian pricing, the Gear S USA would be around $375. My guess is they round that to $350 which would make it about $15 a month on a 2 year non-binding agreement or maybe $100 on a 2 year contract.
Finally read the give print on the att site and got an idea of how they plan to set up the gear s. Figured I'd share for any that didn't know.

I think that is a bit misleading. If the watch is 3G and has a sim card, you will be able to receive SMS directly without a cell phone. I think what they are trying to say is that you will be able to add your Gear S to an existing Smartphone Contract but you won't be able to have the Gear S as your only phone.
We'll see. A lot of confusing info out there. Would be nice of them to just give a for sale date and price though.

That includes VAT and of course everything always costs more in England. We also don't know if that site is gouging people or not. My guess is $350 USD.
Lol I'm just getting frustrated with the mobile carriers and Samsung, Samsung did this last year with the Note 10.1 2014 all hush hush until a week before it's for sale, stupid move in my opinion especially for high end expensive products, if someone doesn't make a lot of money and they try to save they don't know how much or for how long, or if they are really in the market for something (ie; like me with a tablet last year, I really wanted the new note 10.1 but had to wait almost two months for just a release date, and I almost bought a different non Samsung tablet instead, luckily for Samsung and myself I held out) but to think that most people can just drop $4-500 on a watch or $7-800 on a tablet on their next paycheck like that, is just stupid and is what's killing their first week sales. I've had my Note 4, VR and especially my Gear S money sitting in a jar just piling up since IFA I've probably accumulated double what everything will cost, but then again I'm not sure lol, I'm sure I'll find out 3 days before it's time to finally get one and hopefully I have enough, or still want it.
I'm not sure who, Samsung or the cell companies, lol but for Christ sakes give people time to plan and not string them along for months with not even a rough estimate of price or what were in for as far as if it's another monthly phone charge. We're 25% through October and still nothing, I'm all about Samsung products so I'll hold out, but how many people do you think won't? And Samsung wonders why their profits are down 40 something percent since last year. Hate to say it, because I hate Apple as a whole, but they were shipping a week after announcing, hit em while it's hot, Samsung yet again announces and let's the oven cool, most people would of scooped this off the shelves soon after IFA because of all the buzz, wait two months and hear nothing about it again most people will move on and probably grab a Moto 360 or something, so Samsung is just hurting themselves.
I personally am not the type who gets more excited over months of anticipation, I get annoyed and frustrated, but I swear by Samsung products, how about the people who don't? That are willing to try them out over the new iPhone, but weren't willing to wait forever and just say screw it and grab the iPhone? There's your numbers Samsung, there's your profits.
I wish they'd Stop trying to beat Apple and worry about stealing their users, it won't happen, they're brainwashed and are not worried about specs or bang for their buck, spoke could release the iTurd and those kids would ready it up, so worry about the people who are diehard Samsung fans, they keep the lights on, I've personally converted about 5 iPhone users to Samsung s5's and Note 3's and will continue to do so.
If they keep us happy, we'll do more marketing then any reviewer or competitive release date will.
Lol so let's get some friggin' info already.
Side note (no pun intended):
I fear the day Samsung stops making removable backs with swappable batteries and micro sd card slots! they did it on the alpha, which I almost considered picking up to have as a side phone to my Note 4 until I saw no expandable memory, next goes the removable back and then we got an android (or Tizen) iPhone which is the opposite of what I want in a smartphone. I honestly won't buy a phone that I can't remove the battery or especially doesn't have expandable memory. The only ones really complaining about the plastic are people that use iPhones and don't plan to buy a Samsung anyways, 3 Notes deep, 4th in a few weeks and I've never had a problem with the plastic. We don't want iPhones Samsung, and iPhone users don't want anything besides an iPhone.
Nice!!!!
The at&t site has full specs up but no release date yet. We know that it'll be a "connected device" meaning $10/mo on mobile share plans & I'm guessing you'll have you have a phone on the plan even if you don't want it. The samsung ppl hinted that the calling/sms features will be tied into GVoice but that's just conjecture. It sounds like it'll either have something to do with hangouts, or an app on your phone that forwards everything to the watch under certain conditions.
I'm not saying i know, just guessing based on all the bits on info I've been given by the 2 companies. I'm wondering how it'll be added to grandfathered family plans, if at all.
But can we just use it like we use the 1st gear and gear 2 connected via Bluetooth?
