Hi, I bought the S-View cover. It is very nice and I like that it protects screen when closed.
Do you think it is necessary to get screen protector if you have the S-View? Or will the S-View alone be good enough?
what do you guys think?
the s-view case will cover the screen when it is closes, so that helps with protection
at the same time im like ocd with fingerprints showing and smudges
but i dont think screen protector is needed if you have sview right
I asked this question also but it was pointed out the the screen is alwwys protected while in your pocket so really there Is no need. Im just woundering lets say im coming into the house from the car and I was to drop the phone and the flipped open... does it stay shut with a magnet or something

I bought a glass screen protector for mine. I didn't want to take any chances. Everything works fine through the screen protector and the s view.

I don't see much reason to. Nothing should be in the same pocket as your phone. But it is only $30 or so why not
I never get screen protectors but use the Foursquare app and check in at T-Mobile for 30% off their branded protectors at $17, it'll come out to like $13, let the guy at the store put it on perfectly. You'll have an extra one to throw in a drawer and it can't hurt ya to have it on there, after a day you'll forget its there.

My phone was a hefty investment. For the extra $20 I got myself a tempered glass screen protector . I tend to put themn on all my phones.
Recently, after convincing him to use one too, my brother dropped his S3 at Hongkong airport and just about had a heart attack when it landed screen side down. It was just a mess with cracks running everywhere. He removed the glass screen protector and found no damage underneath.... $20 - $30 a shot is much better than the $250 to replace the screen once....
I know that the s-view case provides some protection but I've dropped my Note 3 a couple of times and its landed screen down with the flip cover opening up, thankfully it was onto carpet. The tempered glass protector is just an added insurance that my screen's going to survive. I don't wanna know how much it'll cost to fix the Note 3....

Why do you need a screen protector for a phone that has Gorilla Glass on it?!? (in this case gorilla glass 2) I have never ever scratched a phone with gorilla glass, I dont use a case and I do put it in my pocket. (empty pocket of course) in my opinion if you put a case/screen protector you only take away from the great design of the phone.
Dude, some people lead busy and active lives that are hazardous to fragile things like glass. To condemn a huge portion of the population who like to keep their $600 toy from getting a knick in it or worse is pretty asinine.

Gorilla glass 2 is trash. If your expecting the same from it that you did the original your in for some heartbreak.
Captivate 2 years not a single scratch still flawless. G2 og scratched twice in first 2 weeks. Luckily my screen protector hides the scratches so I'm not pulling my hair out from ocd.

These protectors are terrible. I bought three, and I had to throw all of them away due to complications while installing. If you manage to get it applied, you will end up with air bubbles or soap stuck under the protector. I have applied dozens of dry screen protectors over the years, and this was my first (and last attempt) at a wet application screen protector. The coupon price was still in effect last week, so I bought three of these protectors. They arrived today. I read the included instructions and watched two videos about how to apply them. While trying to apply one, there was soap stuck under the middle of the protector, and it would not come out, no matter how much flattening I attempted with the included hard plastic tool. In fact, the screen was easily scratched by flattening it out. I had to throw away that first one.
I used less soap for the second one, but there were air bubbles and soap was stuck under the protector again. I then tried to reuse this protector without soap, but it was simply too sticky to arrange properly. When I had finally gotten it in the right position, the air bubbles would simply not come out.
The third time, I used a different kind of soap. Same problems. Soap and air bubbles stuck under the screen. The screen protector scratches and deforms when attempting to get out the bubbles.
Again, I've applied many dry screens, so I am familiar with the trickiness of bubbles. I have overcome them many times. With these wet screen protectors, you simply cannot remove the bubbles, and you will deform the protector while attempting to remove bubbles. If for some reason you enjoy throwing away money and time and wish to install this protector, first cover up the phone's ear speaker. A lot of water and soap seeped in while attempting to install these things.
Thanks, Just ordered one!
Anyone know of cheap back protectors?
Got my note 3 a few days ago and I'm loving it. I love the feel, the leather back, the slimness. It's great. But I feel I should be protecting it somehow.
I went for an official S View case but it turns out it's not official and i'm not sure I want to spend £50 on a case that doesn't offer full protection.
I've had a browse but can't seem to find one that would not effect the profile of the phone. Does anyone have any suggestions
Thanks.

Dunno about slim cases (I have a UAG), but I'd definitely recommend a tempered glass screen protector. Especially if you were interested in getting the authentic S-view case.
I bought an $8 eBay protector recommended in the tempered glass screen protector thread and have been very happy with it. Cheap way to keep your screen scratch free.
The problem I've found with screen protectors is that I can't apply them for them life of me. They always bubble or get fluff stuck under them.

Try the tempered glass protectors. I used the MIME Ghost Glass for my S4 and i just got one for my Note 3. It just got here like 30 min ago. IF you get one, you don't have to worry about bubbles, they come out on their own in like an hour or 2. Just apply it in a bathroom after running the shower with hot water to get a touch (NOT a lot) of steam in the air. That pulls all the dust particles out of the air as you apply it.
As for the cases, I agree. I like the feel of the Note 3 naked. I also got a case that makes it actually feel more slippery. I love the case as i had the same for my S4 but it is more slippery. I picked up the Spigen Slim Armor case in the metal color.
I have a bumper case, just the frame around the phone. My phone already fell out from the pocket of my pants, when I was changing (frankly I thought I had the phone in my jacket, otherwise would be more careful) onto the wooden floor from about 4 feet and I think I would have already some type of damage, if it wasn't for the bumper case. I like my phone very much, therefore having it in pristine condition is more important than anything else.
Something like this:

Caseology, Spigen, and UAG are the only way to go for cases.

This is going to sound odd, but in order to get a flawless application of your screen protector . . . do it in the bathroom. I always run the shower as hot as it gets for a few minutes prior to trying to apply the screen protector to let the steam pull most of the dust particles out of the air. I also line up the screen protector prior to removing the backing and tape one side so that it functions like a hinge. This way once the backing is removed you do not have to worry about lining up the protector and it basically applies itself from the taped side.

Question might be lame but just to make sure - Can tempered glass be removed if needed or once is applied/glued thats it ?
It will just lift up. No residue left really. Think of it as more sticky and does not bond like a glue. Until you crank one and have to remove it... It's kinda hard to describe. But it comes up as easy as it is to put down
Ordered it. Should be here soon. Do I still need a screen protector with it do you think?

just want to ask something about tempered screen protector. i just bought the spigen glass tr screen protector and had applied it successfully on my note 3 just having one little lint underneath but i dont care too much about it as it cant be seen when the screen is on. but i want to ask is tempered glass has any side effect to my screen ? such as reduce the screen sensitivity as i heard from someone that using tempered glass has negative effect. is it true ?
I haven't noticed any sensitivity issues. To be fair, I put the protector on only a few days after I purchased the phone, but I honestly never noticed any ill effects after installation.
On my S4 or this phone I've never had sensitivity issue with either phone. The Spen works flawlessly with THE MIME Ghost Glass (is only 32mm thick as to Spigens tr glass which is .40mm thick)
Well my case turned up and I love it. Such a well made product.
It makes my phone look kind of Storm Trooper like. I wonder if I can get a vinyl for the front.

Just got my G3 from Best Buy on Sunday and this phone is pretty impressive. I always like to get a screen protector as soon as the phone comes out of the box. I also scratched my screen on the very first day. I am not sure how I scratched it but its there. So in a case of closing the barn after the horse ran off I bought a tempered glass screen protector from Amazon ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KGSW734/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) Price wise it was 9 dollars but I really liked and and best of all is that it has a life time replacement warranty.
Now about the actual glass its not too thick and though it does slightly protrude a bit you don't really notice unless your really looking for it. The shape is perfect and fits exactly as it should reaching the edges exactly.
Now for the scratch proof test, Since it did have a lifetime warranty I said screw it and took a knife to it. I really did try to scratch it and I wasn't successful. I thought those advertisement pics and videos were bull$hit but it really didn't scratch.
Anyway all in all I am happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a nice screen protector and doesn't like the feel of the thin film/ membrane type ones.

Interesting product. I scoffed at the idea of paying $40 for a screen protector, I've lived through all my smartphones on cheap Ebay films. They get scratched up over time, but by the time I even think I should replace it, the phone is over a year old anyway. I've never applied more than 2 over the life of a phone, and the one on my EVO 4G LTE is the one I applied on launch day. Even so, for this price I'd go for the glass protector. That micro-ridge you'd get would be covered by a case anyway, too.

I used to get Bodyguardz but they didn't have the anti-glare for the G3, then I found iCarez on Amazon. It has better quality than Bodyguardz and comes with three protectors. Best of all, the price was $4.95.
I am very particular with my phone. My phone is naked except for the screen. I used to use Zagg on my HTC EVO 4G and Galaxy Nexus, then switched to Bodyguardz for my Nexus 5, but when I realized they didn't make the anti-glare for the G3 I was lost. Amazon saved me. If i kept my phones long enough i would pay for something like a zagg. Truth is i change phones a lot. Sometimes i dont even have everything come in that i order before i have traded or sold/bought another one. For this reason i usually get a 7-10$ ebay tempered glass protector. I love the glass ones. I cant see how paying an extra 25$ could make it that much better. The cheaper ones feel great imo. I dont think i can ever go back to a plastic screen protector now that i have used glass

Sounds great. Thanks for tip. Ordered mine tonight.
5 months into using the Icarez and I have to say I still love it. No problems with it whatsoever and it still hasn't been scratched. What else can a person want from a screen protector?
@ScottPa74- no problem for the recommendation. THe first thing I do when i get a new device hel sometimes even before I get i come to XDA to check out whether its worth it and what should I get for it.
I just got this superb case in Amazon. I love it....it's well made with good plastic material and grip. It adds a little bulk but....i still like it...it looks like a tank. Lol. The only thing that i hate with this case is ut comes with screen protector which is built in and when u place your phone in...it shows rainbowing distortions...it's more noticeable when the screen is off and intense direct light to the screen. Any how when...you turn on the screen everything looks fine and the touch responsiveness too aren't minimize.
Im planning to rip the builtin screen protector and get a hd film or glass i hope it will still fit when installed back in the case.
I'm confused. That's totally different from this unicorn beetle case

Sorry I forgot to put "Pro". http://www.amazon.com/SUPCASE-Case-...F8&qid=1405809260&sr=1-10&keywords=lg+g3+case
I ordered the same case, ripped out the built in screen protector and am using it with a glass screen protector. It works very well and fits perfectly.

what glass screen protector did you used? I was concerned with the thickness
@hatyrei - on the back of your phone, there is a sticker (in the second picture) attached on your power and volume keys, not to be rude but that is supposed to be removed, unless you want it, those are just intended to be temporary indicators.
@Ronde90 - What glass screen protector are you using? I popped out the one there and bought a thin one (that sadly is a fingerprint magnet) for now but wanted to see if a glass one fit. How are the smudges? What brand/model/price?

Hi guys. I ordered this one:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00KLDJAO8?pc_redir=1404818582&robot_redir=1
It was pretty inexpensive and I didn't want to spend 40usd on one so I figured what the hell, I'll try it. It looked nice and was one of the only glass screen protectors that covered the entire screen, meaning that there were no jagged cut outs for camera or anything. Plus it is only 2mm thin and has rounded and bezeled edges. After using for a day or so I have to say it is fantastic. If feels great and you barely know its there since it is so thin and clear. It really is smudge resistant unlike many other glass screen protectors. It is also very easy to apply. It uses some kind of silicone based adhesive so it adheres better to the screen and is less prone to having bubbles be caught under it when applying it. The screen protector is also very easy to remove and reapply. I actually used it for a day, then took it off when I got the unicorn Beetle pro case. After two days of the scrappy Beetle screen protector, I ripped it off and reapplied the glass screen protector with no issues at all; I wrapped up the glass screen protector in wax paper for the mean time.
If you're on the fence, pull the trigger and I promise that you won't be disappointed, especially at the price on amazon now.

Man, the one of the parts of this glass protector is that it works with this case!!! I'm ordering now! I hated the one on there and the plastic ones have been so jagged and smudgy, I've tried a few. Thanks

Exactly what I did and am absolutely loving it. This case works wonders (assuming you rip out the ****ty built-in protector and replace it with glass) and isn't too bulky.
man you guys are tempting me really badly. i love the look of this case!
im liking it a lot, it reminds me of the urban armor cases. im going to order one
Tada..... , after ripping out the builtin plastic screen protector... I installed the new glass screen protector by iCarez. And I'm happy to tell u guys it fits very well. Just becareful when you put the screen protector be sured the front cam isn't hindered or covered.

I'm gonna order the blue one in a week or so.
I have the Spigen slim armor and like it a lot, but a man needs variety.

Cool, I only wish they have a cheap LG Quick View Case...that looks like the Original case from LG. The one in Amazon doesn't looks futuristic lol . Must be the silver circle inlet that gives it the edge.

Welcome
Thank you!
Nice looking case! May you post some bigger photos?
Ps. I have seen the blue one, really love to see the actual color of the case.
I dont see why it isnt possible for someone to make a screen protector that is split in two that fits on each side of the screen. This would eliminate the issues with being having to be gentle with the screen, as only the fold would be at risk of scratching and denting.
I now see that this would probably be pretty distracting seeing those edges of the protectors in the center of the screen. Even the fold is visible sometimes. So yea, carry on

Its not just that, the plastic film on the foldable led screen is not designed for an adhesive, and the hinge is not designed for a bigger gap that the additional few mm of the glass would create. Samsung would encourage people to use one if the design allowed it in the first place
I used one available on ebay. It's a soft flexible plastic material. Kinda self healing. Had it on for 2 months and removed it just fine with no damage to the actual screen at all. Replaced it with a new one and the original screen is still perfect underneath. I'm not afraid to use it without washing my hands first now. Lol

I ended up getting this screen protector and it's awesome! I feel so much more secure with the phone now. You can't even tell its on. Definitely try it.

Is your screen protector scratch resistant?
In this video the healing shield screen protector seems nice. Made in Korea.
https://youtu.be/MjYNWqVIUp
The rest are made in China which may not be good.

That video doesn't show any results for me. But yes it is self healing, has a bit of a rubberized texture, like a zagg but thinner. I've only tried scratching it with my fingernail so not too great of a test. But overall you can't even tell it's on there so I'm happy with it. My device feels more secure.
+1 for the ebay one! Got full device and loving it so far!
