"Settings Shortcut" widget - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3

I'm wondering where the settings shortcut widget is. I used to use it all the time on my Note 2, and Google searches aren't helping. Does this not exist anymore? =(

I don't have a widget for it. But there is a shortcut under apps that you could drag to the desktop. It's in one of the folders I forget which (maybe the sprint or samsung ones) as I've moved a bunch of things around on my phone.
However I am completely stock still and definitely have the shortcut in my app drawer.

So did they take that feature off? I really like being able to access the Bluetooth and WiFi setting by clicking on an icon (made by settings widget).

By app drawer do you mean the folder that shows your installed apps? If so your request doesn't make sense as all installed apps go there.
If however you mean on your home screen just hold finger down til menu shows and on there choose "application" and then choose the app you want on it. Then it puts the icon on screen for you.

I mean the 1st option some apps dont go into the app drawer basically I know I can just make a shortcut on the desktop to the selected activity but I would like a installable apk that launches the above activity from the app drawer not as a shortcut on the desktop. If any one can make this I will be very greatfull.

The activity is a selected page in a motorola app that moto decided to hide from us.

Cyanogenmod 9 home screen question.

How do I keep cm9 from making those stupid app shortcuts on the homescreen or is that some stupid ICS behavior. If I wanted my home screen to look like an iPhone or behave like MIUI, then I would've bought an iPhone or installed MIUI.
Thanks

I think its android Market/play store that adds app shortcuts to your home screen, there's an option in the settings to turn it off "dont auto add shortcuts"
sent from my HTC EVO 3D
If you mean the behaviour that is the app icon shortcut being placed on your homescreen when you install a new app from the Play Store, then that is the Play Store itself.
There is a option inside the Play Store to disable it from auto placing shortcuts on your homescreen for new apps.
Thanks guys : )

Every time I download an app it says no more room left on desktop. Even though I unchecked create shortcut it still adds to the desktop!! Anyone come across this? And how to get rid of it?

So in the Play Store app, in settings, you UNchecked the option "Auto-add shortcuts"? I ask, because you said you unchecked "create shortcut", but I don't have that option with that exact name on my phone...
is it the same app creating shortcuts or all the apps you [email protected]?
if it is one app, if it creats shortcut everytime you run it, it is created by application. If it creates sjortcut everytime you downloaded and inatalled it, it is created by play market.
are you using touch wiz home or 3rd party home app?if it is 3rd party home and was told no room on screen while actually you have, there may be some incompatibily and you can try other home app or report the issue to developer.

{MOD} car dock mode without dock

Using the app QuickShortcutMaker, you can search for “car” and then create a shortcut on your home screen,
it will put a shortcut of car app that is hidden in app menu on the home screen.
Is there a way to edit what is shown on the app? Personally I don't want the Amazon mp3 crap on mine. I prefer Pandora or slacker.

I disabled the amazon apps thru built it my apps feature.

Temperature on lockscreen?

Been searching all over in the settings to be able to change the temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit. Anybody know where to do this for the lockscreen?

Maybe tapping on the widget with the weather on the home screen and going into the settings in that app

You might want to take a second look. It's not a global setting, but controlled by the app. So open the app that the widget is linked to and look in the settings menu for that app.
In particular, if you are using the default accuweather app, that is indeed where the setting resides. You may also want to recreate the widget to speed up the change i.e. don't expect that the change will always be reflected instantaneously.
.
OK thanks, I figured it's tied to a certain weather app. Will keep looking. Here is a pic of my lockscreen,

That appears to be the Accuweather app. From memory.. tap or double tap on the time or temperature on the home screen to open the full page Accuweather.. then click on the menu icon there (3 dots) to get into the app's settings dialog. Then look for the C/F or metric /Imperial toggle.
.
Hmm, Not sure where that app is, I thought I had it frozen in TB. I've only got one weather app installed right now.

That one then. Whatever it is.

I froze it and restarted the phone. It did get rid of it so I know that's it, however when unfrozen there is no actual app anywhere to configure.
*Edit it doesn't come back now after unfreeze and rebooting. Oh well no big deal. The weather app I do have and use is Weather & Clock Widget.

Stand alone widgets are less common.. and will be configured from the widget itself instead of a main app then.

The reason his app settings are not showing when he taps the the temp..
Is probably because he has the
Unified Daemon frozen in TB too.
I learned it the hard way from freezing it..

Here is what my lock and home screen looks like..
Here is a link to my 2 apks if you want to try them..put them in system/app ...just rename yours to .bak and you can switch back if doesn't work but should as that's all I changed..then restart phone and replace the original weather widget and make it 100 percent transparent.
Tap on the Temp on the home screen takes you to the settings.

*edit, those worked! I didn't have accuweather in system/app, though the weatherdaemon was. Its all working now, thanks a lot for your help!
Weather App - change from C to F

I am new and this may just be an old thread that has been resolved.
I went through the entire thread and didn't see a suitable reply.
On my newly acquired Galaxy 5S, I wanted to do the same; change from C to F.
First went through the Settings App and didn't see anything that would make the change.
Sometimes things are very simple. And this was something I probably over-thought.
What I did:
Unlocked the screen, and there's the "Weather App" loaded right on the main screen at the very top of the screen.
I tapped the "Weather App" box, which brought the "Weather App" full screen.
I then tapped the three vertical dots, flush right top on the screen. This brought up four options (black text on white background).
They are from top to bottom, 'Weather map', 'More', 'Settings' and 'Report wrong city name'.
Tap on "Settings":
Then, under "General", the first settings option is "Unit".
Tap "Unit", then tap the radio button "°F" to change from Celsius to Fahrenheit.
Unless you want to continue making additional changes, such as 'Refresh', 'Location' or 'Notifications...' you are done.
There is no "Save" button. The changes that have been made I believe take effect immediately.
All you have to do is back out and get back to the main screen by pressing the Home button to get back to business.
Hope that helps someone, someplace.
Best,
Robert
Hallelujah, I have figured it out. Press on the widget on the lock screen. Select change widget. Choose Accuweather (yes, it does not appear in your apps management list) A whole page opens up with the Accuweather forecast AND in the top right corner (at least on mine) (Note 4) you get the three dots indicating a menu. Press the dots and holy cow the settings for accuweather come up. And there you will see the temperature change option. Right at the top. Hope this helps.
