Hello guys, I need some help here.
This is my first Sony device, so please be patient
Here is what I have:
TA Backup
All drivers and flashtool installed (latest version)
A C6802 running AOSPA
Here's what I want to do :
Go back to stock, locked bootloader.
The problem is, I've no idea how to do that !
Flashtool doesn't recognize my device when I connect it and it doesn't even list the ftf I've put in the firmware folder
I think the file is corrupted. Does anybody have a mirror for .532 for C6802 ? ( I've already tried the repository, but the google docs link just keeps stopping the download every 5 minutes !)
Plus, should I restore TA before or after ?
What if I want to keep the unlocked bootloader ?
Any help would be appreciated

Ok so you can find some other ftf here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2463701 even if it is not from your country no problem. I advise you to take HK firmware and to avoid China.
After the other problem is that Flashtool doesn't recognize your device. Did you well enable usb debug? Did you unlock and make TA backup with Flashtool?

so when you hold the volume up and connect USB to the computer (at the exact same time) flashtool doesn't detect? The dialog box doesn't say anything?
Install drivers from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45634459 and if you are on Flashtool 11.0 be sure to follow installation process and to import device as explain on the original thread.

I'm using Flashtool 0.9.12.1, the latest one. Do I still have to import the device ?
Edit: The new ftf is showing up ! Now I just connect the device in flashmode and flash ? What about the TA Backup ?
Edit2: Plus I also installed the Flashtool drivers in the drivers folder which came with flashtool...

Of you unlocked with Flashtool it mean you have the good drivers and that Flashtool should recognize your device. But personally I have a bug with my Pc, each time I reboot my Pc I need to uninstall and install back all Android devices I wish to use. Check on device manager after plug your phone if there is not an error with the driver.

Success ! Flashtool detected the device, but it couldn't identify it as C6802. Still went ahead with flashing. Now I'm on .526 with unlocked bootloader. :highfive:
Gonna try to relock it with the Backup-TA tool I used to backup the TA partition.

Go into Xperia Sola development section (you have sola, right?), there you find threads like [ICS][FTF] Official ftf... you can flash it without root - using flashtool - you will get unofficial official update.

You will get newest update if you follow these instructions (and if you download the right .ftf).
You DON'T NEED root for this.

The same problem :/
My windows 8.1 box is really my wife's so I don't use it much. But I remember reading many have issues with this and I believe the issue is fixed by using the USB 3.0 ports. Maybe do a little googling or if I remember correct there is a small guide somewhere in xda explaining how to, search adb windows 8.1 USB 3.0 or something like this

this is for 4.4.2 (in correct image on youtube)
It will require an unlocked bootloader. But with 4.4.2 unlocking bootloader doesn't break the x-reality.

This doesn"t work for me. Flashtool refuses to recognize that my Ultra is in fastboot mode. I downloaded the drivers, uninstalled and re-installed Flashtool but I get the same result. I can't install the kernel. My LED is blue on my Z Ultra but Flashtool gives a message saying that I must be in Fastbboot mode which, I am in Fastboot mode as far as I can tell. Not sure what to do now. BL is unlocked and I am on the the KitKat 4.4.2 .681 firmware. C6802.
Try to reinstall all drivers by connecting your phone and install Sony pc compagnon... Maybe it'll work !
Just give it a try !

Thanks. I was able to get into fastboot mode and install the kernel, finally! Now I have root on my Ultra with the new KitKat .681 firmware. Still not sure what the problem was. I suspect it was my desktop PC. It runs Windows XP. I switched to my laptop that runs Windows Vista and just re-installed PC companion and reinstalled Flashtool and the drivers from scratch and everything worked like a charm. Happy to be rooted on KitKat 4.4.2!
Device: Sony Xperia Z Ultra C6802 Android 4.4.2 firmware .681.
That's awesome ! It was a pleasure !
