Will this work on stock 4.4 with Locked BL and no recovery? Will this disable X-Reality?

this is for 4.4.2 (in correct image on youtube)
It will require an unlocked bootloader. But with 4.4.2 unlocking bootloader doesn't break the x-reality.

This doesn"t work for me. Flashtool refuses to recognize that my Ultra is in fastboot mode. I downloaded the drivers, uninstalled and re-installed Flashtool but I get the same result. I can't install the kernel. My LED is blue on my Z Ultra but Flashtool gives a message saying that I must be in Fastbboot mode which, I am in Fastboot mode as far as I can tell. Not sure what to do now. BL is unlocked and I am on the the KitKat 4.4.2 .681 firmware. C6802.
Try to reinstall all drivers by connecting your phone and install Sony pc compagnon... Maybe it'll work !
Just give it a try !

Thanks. I was able to get into fastboot mode and install the kernel, finally! Now I have root on my Ultra with the new KitKat .681 firmware. Still not sure what the problem was. I suspect it was my desktop PC. It runs Windows XP. I switched to my laptop that runs Windows Vista and just re-installed PC companion and reinstalled Flashtool and the drivers from scratch and everything worked like a charm. Happy to be rooted on KitKat 4.4.2!
Device: Sony Xperia Z Ultra C6802 Android 4.4.2 firmware .681.
That's awesome ! It was a pleasure !

Hey XU guys!
I have an ST25i and I need a bit of help.
I am running an unknown ROM that I don't know how to fix. If any of you have...
-An Xperia U ST25i
-Rooted
-CWM installed
-Stock ROM and Kernel
Can you...
Go into CWM. Go into advanced. And do create firmware.zip and send it to me. I need it back to stock and PCC and Flashtool won't work.
Thanks!

If its all stock than sus should work, did you install all drivers? Did you connect phone properly to the pc? What is exactly your problem?

Hey
Well my problem is that I am running a ROM that is not stock
I would like to revert back to it so I may get OTA updates.
In Pcc it said my phone was already updated.
And I cannot install Flashtool. I tried to use it to root my XU and it never worked.
PS what is sus?
Thanks
Sent from my ST25i
Why don't you just go to settings/ about phone and see what you're running?

That's definitely stock Sony build number. Look at my build number because it's custom, compared to yours -

Yes but I now know what from it was. Its called Infinity Smooth Custom System ROM, and as it says in the title, it was only a system ROM, which didn't require a new boot.img to be fastboot flashed.

Is the bootloader unlocked? That may be why ota updates and pcc won't work

I could do that but I was looking up if there is a way I could relock the bootloader and restore it with PCC?
Sent from my ST25i
I think you can re lock. Not too sure how it works tho. There are definitely guides around tho!
If you're keeping the phone for yourself tho I'd keep it unlocked and just flash cm9. It'll be far faster and smoother than stock
Sent from my Android 4.2.1 Xperia S
Couple of things.
First of all thanks for all of your help.
Secondly, I am keeping it for myself, but I'm a tad concerned about installing a custom ROM and Kernel.
I have heard of CyanogenMod and apparently they offer a near stock experience. But as Flashtool is not working for me, if I fastboot flash the boot.img then would that mean I could never revert back to stock?
Sent from my ST25i using xda app-developers app
Yea you can always revert back to stock. But I promise you'll never want too. Lol. If you already have cwm then all you need to do is download the cm9 zip and flash in recovery (following instructions in the thread as to what to wipe)
As for flashtool, have you installed all the drivers from the drivers file?

PCC would not update unlocked boot loaders.
You can relock your boot loader and PCC wil update.
Or you can build ftf file from PCC files, and flash with flashtool.
How to Create an FTF file of Your Xperia ICS Firmware
I have used both methods, and both worked. I reccomend the second, this way you always have the original firmware in case you need it.

You flashed a custom kernel? Thats why....
did you unlock your bootloader at unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com?
As my signature says, i hate unlocking bootloader. This is the reason why as problems like this pops out after you unlock. If you were looking for root, update your phone (after its fixed) and root using doomlord's root in the xperia p dev. forum.

Well, flash your phone to ICS and then root it. After rooting install CWM Recovery and then install a JB zip from the recovery. The whole procedure is given in Development section.

He is on JB and want a recovery which works in JB. So flash ICS then root then install CWM and then install JB ROM. So he will have both JB and recovery. I think he want this only else if I am wrong please correct me.
Lol guys now i don't know what to do.
You mean if i was on JB i can install the CWM one? Will it work fine? You mean this right?

Since you are on locked bootloader, you need to:
1)root your device following the steps on Xperia p development section(doomlord toolkit)
2) install cwm using recoveryx on your pc!

That one would work once you have root.
Depands which JB, DooMLoRD Easy Rooting Toolkit only works for 6.2.A.1.100.

But needed to perform the procedure to get UB finally use this exellent ROM.
u will need Unlock because we cant use the new drivers on locked Bl
wich makes it impossible to run.
offcourse it can be possible but not without sony
