Sensless Rule? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I need 10 posts to report a bug in dev section, this seems for me pretty sensless >_>?

Instead of complaining about the initial posts you need to post outside of general, you could always create a thread in general explaining the bug and somebody else could report it for you. Alternatively, you can also pm the dev of the software you have a bug on.

I think same
if some1 wants to troll can open a troll thread

I too have have to full fill this condition. I too think this is unfair.

How exactly is it unfair? It helps to prevent trolling. Sorry if you don't like it. Nobody is forcing you to be an xda member.

Okay buddy don't get that much angry, and it is what I feel and I said that.
Everyone loves XDA and I too have been following it since 2011.

I'm not angry, I just think it's a stupid thing to complain about. I don't think the requirement is over the top.
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk

Could be over the top for you but think if someone is stuck badly and needs to ask for help from a particular ROM's users then he will have to make 10 posts and that too after time intervals. In most cases his first ten posts would be useless just to bypass that restriction.

Why could this person not pm the dev directly?
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk

Because developer alone cannot solve everyone's problems and pm are not liked by all the developers. A problem can be better solved by community together rather than a single developer who may or may not read the pm for days whereas atleast few members on thread will in some hours.
Sent from my LT26ii using xda app-developers app

I find most devs to be pretty responsive, and I doubt the rule will ever change because it does more good than bad. At least you must be quite a bit closer to your 10 posts thanks to this thread.

Lookout mobile security on Photon Q 4G LTE blowing up?

Every so often when I'm doing different things i see lookout fc. Haven't been able to narrow it down yet. Anyone else seeing this? Trying to determine if its hardware or software conflict seeing as the Q just came out.

Don't know if you noticed but you're in the wrong device forum.. lol. Anyway it might be a software conflicting with something.

Pretty sure photon q doesn't have a dedicated forum yet so people are just backpacking on us for a while. We had to do this for a bit before they gave us photon users a dedicated forum.
But to respond to your question.. there was a recent study done of the reliability and effectiveness of android anti viruses. Lookout actually ranked pretty low. The one that came in first place out of the 20 tested was Kaspersky's mobile version. Perhaps try it out and see if it works better for you.
Acvice, I see your point but I think it would still make more sense to post in the right forum so that other members could benefit. Just sayin lol.. OP you don't have a tasker running do you?

Hmm, didn't come up for me in the 'Find my device' search bar. Thanks for the heads up, my mistake.

Anybody know why....

ManelScout4life has been booted from XDA? All his ROM threads are locked now and that really sucks when you like a ROM and suddenly all the support disappears without explanation.....

I would love an answer too if its not too much trouble. I know where to find his ROMs but as of now there is now place for updates on new releases/projects/support :/
Maybe it was because he thanked Flapp in one of his posts?

In any case, take care ManelScout4life. Thanks for the hard work you put in. While I don't know the circumstances, I know we, the silent majority, do wish you the best.

I would like some more information since this may be his decision and not xda's. Either way I think better communication would be good.

Can moderators botch your posts ?!

Is it just me or am I Imaging things ..
Ive been on XDA for years in many forums.
Lately every topic of mine I've made I've noticed 10 views 25views 96 views ,doesnt matter how many.. I always have a response, wether good or bad every topic this week I see 100 views no responses not even a smart ass one ...?
I've contributed a lot to HTC one topic wise even before release
I could almost swear that my topics are being blocked from "member " responses, even though they all have views. Wtf is going on here ,every worthless topic under mine least they have responses.

3.4 Kernel *BUMP* thread.

Hello everyone!
Saw this on the Ruby 3.4 Kernel thread

Everytime I see this thread rise up to the top my hopes rise and then I click it to see it's someone going "so how's progress going". Obviously if he had something he'd have shared it already.

I was thinking the exact same thing... getting too much notifications about activity on the thread whereas it is just discussion and general things, So I took the liberty of making this thread so that @sportsstar89 and all the other developers can spend more time working and less on replying ETA and general questions in dev area! Rather it's just a BUMP thread here so we can ask @sportsstar89 about his football and school routine I guess and so rest of Amaze4G forum stops frantically rushing to the Ruby 3.4 Kernel thread.
P.S. @kusso92 @ezdi I am as anxious as you guys are!!
Ciao!
In my honest opinion, Sports should just LOCK the 3.4 kernel thread until he is ready for something so no one posts useless crap on it. it takes only ONE person to bump it all the way to the top of the thread list. People don't understand.
That's just what I think. There's developers that have to deal with a lot of OT on their threads so they occasionally lock it to let it cool down. Then they unlock it.
Edit: Also, I don't see how this is going to help. Sorry to burst your bubble, Huzaifa.
Bump lol

Best Kernel?

I'm in the process of rooting my One then I plan on going with with the stock android edition. I'd like to know which kernel I should flash. There seems to have been a lot of development for the One and I'm finding it hard to catch up. I've heard there are some kernels which let you charge the phone a little faster and to me that would be a nice benefit to have. I've heard it could wear your battery down a little faster however I don't plan on having it long enough for that to be an issue. Any tips would be great!
Thanks,
Duck
The one you're referring to as charging your phone faster is the one I'm using (thoravukk). They are all pretty good just make sure you use the one that is made for the ROM you choose to flash.

Sorry but no, you don't have to be a moderator to follow the rules.
Why is that so hard for people to understand? The moderators are a minority compared to users and things would go much smoother if people would follow the rules to begin with.

Obviously the mods aren't to concerned with the thread, or they would have shut it down. The only one complaining is you. Anytime you see some type of crime happening in the street, do you do a citizens arrest? I don't think so
