[Q] Galaxy Ace S5830 Reboot Loop - Galaxy Ace S5830i Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Okay so recently I tried flashing a custom Cyanogen mod 10.1 to my S5830 yet I did not install ClockworkMod. My phone is now caught in a reboot loop where it gets stuck on the Samsung loading screen, and does not change, I tried entering recovery mode and "wipe data/factory reset" but it comes up with the error E:format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/stl14, and when I try to wipe the cache partition i get the same error. I have also tried flashing stock standard drivers back to the phone, through Odin Multiloader, yet Odin does not pick up my phone due to being unable to boot my phone up.
For Odin I can load all the files yet I cannot start due to it not identifying my phone.
Any help regarding this issue would be immensely appreciated.

First, try to flash a stock rom using odin, should to work. You canĀ“t install a custom rom with the stock revovery, you need CWM, so thar flash and stock rom.

Do you have the galaxy ace drivers on your pc? If not your pc can't connect to your ace.
To use odin it isn't necessary to boot up your phone as far I know. You have to go into the download mode and then use odin.

I do have the drivers installed on my computer, yet when I enter download mode as soon as I connect my ace to my laptop it restarts into the bootup loop again. I have all the necessary files to initiate the stock reset, such as cooper.ops and the MD5 file, yet all I need is for Odin to register my phone When I connect my phone to my laptop in download mode I get a 5 second (give or take) window before it restarts itself.
Any pointers into which I could get Odin to connect to my phone would be much appreciated.
As I said I have all the necessary files but Odin just does not register my phone

[Q] Galaxy Ace GT-5830i stuck in recovery mode

Hello all,
I have an issue with my Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-5830i that is stuck in Android system recovery (3e) mode, and it seems there is no way to get it out of there.
- upon selecting wipe data/factory reset the device is stuck with one message "multicsc: src /system/csc/MTL/system/ ." and "Formatting /data..." bellow
- upon selecting apply zip from the SD card the installation always fails with various error messages (I tried to install cyanogen mod rom in an attempt to recover, but failed as well)
- upon selecting reboot now the whole screen disappears with only the "multicsc: src /system/csc/MTL/system/ ." message at the bottom of the screen and I need to remove the battery.
I will greatly appreciate if anyone on this forum could help with the issue, as I have search for possible solutions without any luck so far, and my phone appears to be bricked.
Thank you,
John
My guess is u still on stock recovery. Flashing cm rom or any other custom rom needs clockworkmod recovery, moroever theres no cm rom for s5830i yet.
For now u could try to reflash stock rom with odin. Theres a thread somewhere guiding howto do so for s5830i. Also do note that anything for original s5830 wont work on your s5830i.
Last but not least, do read more and understand what you're trying to do before u really hardbricked the poor thing.
Thanks for the pointers, I really appreciate it and everything works fine now.
It was actually my nephew's phone, so I have no idea how he managed to brick it like that.

I have the exact same problem. Except I can't even enter into download mode. Phone boots into recovery mode regardless of what buttons I press, get stuck at "formatting /data", and I can't flash anything. All the buttons seem to function as intended in the recovery menu, so it's not a hardware failure. Any ideas?

Flash stock rom thru odin then from recovery mod Clear data and cache then reboot. [emoji4]
I know this is kind of old but I have same problem, i got this phone from cousin and it wasnt booting , it was going straight into recovery, since my mother has same phone and i used odin before to save her, i am familiar with odin so, I tried new firmware flash with odin , it passed on odin but again doesn't want to finish install on the phone, it says
installing update...
--appling muti-csc --
Fromatting /cache...
-- Appling Muti-CSC __
and it wont go anywhere from there , and if I reboot it goes back in recovery again and it wont format data again, formatting cache works. I also tried to flash cm7, rooted it, installed cwm but when i do reboot it is not in cwm but in regular recovery, so after that I installed cwm again and without reboot installed cm7 kernel wich succeded , after that installing the cm7 itself stuck on "installing update" , could this be hardware issue, it always seem to be stuck when its doing something with "data". I tried couple odin flashes multi package and single package, i was carefull to chose correct firmware, only thing i could make mistake is maybe with pit and re-partition. Anyone help i would appriciate it much since i have no other phone than this.

does the phone have to be in USB Debugging mode, if so im stuck
Do not worry of USB Debugging mode.
Follow this steps just use kernel from attachments.
- (USB) Disconnect your phone from your computer
- Start ODIN
- Click the PDA button, and select siyah.tar
- Put your phone in download mode(vol down+power+menu button)
- (USB) Connect the phone to your computer
- Make sure repartition is NOT checked
- Click the START button
- Wait for the phone to reboot
Ive used Odin to reflash my phone with Siyah 6.04.tar kernel. According to Odin everything was ok but when phone rebooted i got the Samsung Galaxy SII screen this time with the yellow triangle and then the phone goes blank, ie turns off and nothing else
In recovery mode clean cache, dalvik cache and fix permision, if this dont help install new rom.

It is up to you. My is in my signature(I'm satisfied with it).
Maybe try Flash Stock rom ? And then Flash XXLSJ ?
Basically you stuck in a boot loop ...reason behind it is bad boot img., according to me. You can try restoring only system (in advance restore) or the entire nandroid itself, This is only if you have a backup done before.

unknown softbrick problem

hello, my phone is in a bootloop at the samsung start screen, the problem didn't started because of an un proper flash of a rom, I just found my phone in kernel panic mode, tried to enter recovery to do a full wipe, nothing, recovery was unavailable, I had cm 10.1 and dorimax kernel, after that I found a thread that explained what to do in case of soft/hard brick, I did all the steeps, (I can only enter download mode), I have flashed the ics, gb roms in odin with success, no nand rw problem, my phone is still in a boot loop, this happened two weeks ago, today I tried booting the phone, a wierd instaler started (something about cryptic, can't remember exactly) but the instalation stopped it restarted, and the samsung boot loop started, dose any one have any ideeas what else can I try? thx
can any one tell me if the stock roms I'm flashing trough odin do a full wipe? thx
Always do a full wipe, no matter what you do.
Flash a more newer stock firmware, aka a jelly bean firmware..
Have you encrypted your phone before you swap Roms? and not decrypt it before flash?
I have flashed XWLSW trough odin, but still nothing, I didn't encrypt my phone, and I can't do a full wipe, or at least I don't know how to do it trough odin (I can only enter download mode). Thx for the answers, any other suggestions?

I have same problem and i don't know what to do. Someone tell mse about a pit parched because is a memory problem, so, i'm looking for this pit, but, i can't found this pit.
Someone help us, please. Thank you.
Can you not enter recovery? Even after flash and stuck in boot loop? Flash stock and try to get into recovery when this boot loop happends. And yes when you flash through odin the phone is wiped:thumbup:
I solved a similar problem by:
flashing a custom recovery through odin
booting into recovery mode
doing a "wipe data/factory reset"
doing a "wipe cache"
doing a "format /system"
doing a "format /preload"
flashing a current custom ROM

I thought that odin install gives you a fresh start. What do you mean by single md5? Thanks for the info.
The one that you flash in pda.
It's called a non wipe flash, similar to an OTA update.

[Q] Boot problem

Hello, first of all I would like to say that this is my first thread as I just made the account and also that English is not my native language so please overlook any mistakes I make . Now I am writing this thread because I have a problem with my Samsung Galaxy SII. +-3 days ago I tried to root it, used Odin, also tried flashrootkit or whats its name, but Im not sure if my phone got rooted.. In Odin it said PASS and I also managed to install SuperSu and CWM but when I tried to run some apps it said something about the device not being rooted.. However, thats not my problem, the problem is that today I tried to factory reset my phone in spite of having full memory of apps and just wanted to start with clear memory ( I backed up my music and pictures to my PC). But after doing factory reset, the phone started and I was going through the whole process of selecting language and wifi spots and so on.. but then suddenly my phone turned off and when it again "started" it got stuck on the SAMSUNG logo, not the one with the yellow triangle but the glowing text "SAMSUNG".. Now I tried everything I could (I suppose, not sure as Im new to all of this) but to no avail.. The problem is, most of the troubleshooting articles suggest to reinstall/reflash or do whatever with Odin, but I cant use Odin because I cant access download mode because I have CMW and it automatically opens recovery mode.. I tried using like almost every option in the recovery mode, but nothing helped.. Also, my phone gets "detected" by PC after a while of having that glowing SAMSUNG text.. And I just dont know what to do now, its really frustrating that I cant access download mode because of that CWM recovery mode, is there any way to access it ? Or what am I supposed to do?
Please and thanks for your help .
Actually I just realized that going into download mode requires different command than going into recovery T.T I tried reflashing 2 roms but got stuck on the Samsung Galaxy S-II with yellow triangle now.. I think I formated /system and/or /boot folder thru CWM so.. Then I tried installing stock firmware but Odin said it FAILED right as it was doing Completed(write) command.. I just dont know what to do anymore, I am trying to download Kies now and going to try to recover firmware with it.. Isnt there just anyway to completely reset it to normal kernel/rom everything? I guess I fk*d up too much up until now so it might be too late :/

Seems like you're boot looping. To completely reset your phone, you must download a pit file for the s2 and select the partition file using odin. Tick repartition phone and start. Make sure that you also install the stock rom at the same time for safety purposes. Have a look at the xda forum, there is a thread where you can download the pit files.you should then do a factory reset and wipe the cache then if everything's working, then all good.
If you can't be bothered going through all these steps and don't mind using a modified stock rom (e.g neatrom), then you should try flashing that in cwm. And if this doesn't work, follow the first option.

[Q] Help with my samsung galaxy tab 10.1

Hello everyone, i am new to the forum and i have a problem with my samsung galaxy tab 10.1
Model no: gt-p7500, 3g+wifi, 16 gb.
The problem started some months ago, the tablet will boot up, but get stuck on the samsung logo, i went online and found information regarding how to fix using odin, i downloaded and installed odin and a stock firmware, while playing around in odin, i checked the nand erase option, the process started but failed inbtw, i then tried it again, this time with the nand erase option off, the process completd successfully. But now i am stuck in screen with the following information
#manual mode#
--updating applications.
The tablet keeps rebooting to the above screen. Please help.
I do not have a backup and i am a newbie. Thanks.
You need Odin v1.85. It doesn't have any nand erase option in it.
What tar.md5 file did you use to flash.
I looked around and I found this thread. I hope you can get something out of it. And I hope you can revive your tab.

Hmmm sounds like the tab is trying to boot into stock recovery but errors out before it can complete. Try flashing a custom recovery with Odin. Preferably cwm, when its done reboot to recovery and use adb to push a custom ROM to your internal sdcard---thats assuming it does boot into the custom recovery.

Did you do a full wipe(dalvik, cache, system, data)? If not then please do a full wipe and flash again. Also, in case you're flashing the ROM over can you pull a recovery log and post it here so I can see if anything is going wrong in there?
Use this to get that log after you've flashed the rom
Code:
adb pull tmp/recovery.log

OK so it seems that your data partition is either not being mounted or is being mounted in read only mode therefore nothing can be written to that partition. I looked around for a fix for this issue and I found this thread which addresses the said issue for your tab. I really hope this will help get your tab back to a functioning state.
