Hey, is there a way of installing the Samsung voice recording app that comes with the Galaxy S4 onto AOSP?
I tried recovering the app from titanium backup, but it doesn't work. I really need this for school

Yes, thats the first thing android provides is syncing with GOOGLE services. It syncs contacts from your phone and you wont have to use itunes to update contacts.
It does it automatically

Well the only thing I will miss about the iphone is the keyboard it was jailbroken as well but I won't do that with galaxy. Is there anyway without rooting to install apps that I download to my SD card for example?
and any good keyboard or is the standard one just fine?
Yes, there is a box in settings that, once ticked, will let you install apps from outside sources, like installous, but much easier.
There are 2 keyboards that come with the S2, samsung and swype. The swype one is the best, samsung for some reason put a mic key instead of a comma key, which is stupid!
Personally I keep swapping between SwiftkeyX (in the Market), or 'keyboard from android 2.3' (yea weird name-also in the Market).
Enjoy!

Well as title says, I'm wondering why the Samsung contacts app is never ported? We have tw framework and many other apps so could someone explain why we can't have the contacts app?
(I likes it in case you didn't guess)

I have the same question. Although there is an SMS app from Jellybean on the Play store, MMS functionality is broken at the moment.

Huh? We are talking about the AOSP (Stock) MMS/SMS app
I also wanted the MMS from my "old" Gnexus, I extracted /system/Mms.apk for my nexus. pushed it to system on the Note2 and I can confirm that SMS are working flawlessly but sending an MMS makes the app FC
if a dev could make that work that's be awesome
Where are all the good devs, who can help us? ... please!

+1 to this, would be great if we could have the stock Email as Samsung Email just doesn't connect to my company's Lotus Notes servers
The mms relies on a framework file
Ive been looking at what it requires if I find that I'm going to try to port it over using Xposed for framework modification

Hi there
I really hate the stock people.apk that comes with CM 10.2, and I was wondering if it's possible to switch it to something else as defaults contacts editor.. Even the stock samsung app is a lot better..
Thank you!
Yes, loads of contacts app on the play store

Yes, but I mean one that would replace people as the default one, since the other contacts apps seem to direct you to people.apk when you want to edit contact details
There's nothing to replace it. Not all contacts apps "direct you"

Is it possible for anyone to theme the samsung apps, snote, s planner, etc? I really hate the brown and I don't know how to do it myself. If anyone could point me in the right direction I wouldnt mind trying me own hand at it. I run at&t note 2 so this would be n7105 or similar devices (lte) 4.3
I've seen a themed snote and team blackout have a blacked out s planner. I think the snote was in one of the American variants of the note 2

I was thinking that they might not work as flashables from 4.1.2 to 4.3. I will try to pull the necessary files and push them into rom
The team blackout twizz calender works fine on 4.3 I'm using it now. Only issue is it changes the app name from s planner to calender which is no biggie to me. Back up the s note app first then you can just restore if it doesn't work
