Note 3 for $250 @ Target (Amazon price matc!) - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Ok, after much buyer's regret over paying $350 for this phone at Best Buy I was determined to get this phone for $250 by hook or crook. I went to a Target and they have the phone for $300 as an upgrade which is already cheaper than Best Buy. To top it off they will match Amazon's price even though the phone is not currently in stock.
I returned my phone to Best Buy in hopes that the manager would save me the headache and just price match but he was a real penis and refused.
I'm now en route to Target to get my phone.
The only downside is that Sprint is being a MODERATOR EDIT. The Best Buy guy who processed my return had to call Sprint to notify them that I'm cancelling my upgrade. Apparently the Sprint person he spoke to told him that I would still have to pay the $36 activation fee.
Which means when I go buy my second Note 3 in a little while from Target they will tack on a second $36 activation fee. Hahahaha. They gotta be out of their M'F minds if they think that's going to happen.
Anyway, just wanted to give all you guys a heads up. The place you want to go is Target. Instant gratification by getting the phone on the spot and they are willing to match Amazon's $250 price tag. If you go this route make sure to call Sprint to dispute the double activation fee!

If it is within 15 days than the second upgrade fee will not apply

You're wrong. I'm fighting tooth and nail right now with a representative via the Sprint online chat about this activation fee nonsense. Will post my whole chat on here when i have a conclusion.

Sprint: We received your information and will connect you with a Chat Specialist soon.
Hannah L.: Thank you for contacting Sprint, my name is Hannah L.. I am happy to help you today.
Hannah L.: Hi Rami!
You: I'll give you time to look over my reason for contacting you.
Hannah L.: Good afternoon. I hope you're doing well today.
You: Not too bad
Hannah L.: Thank you, Rami.
Hannah L.: I have read your concern, Rami.
Hannah L.: I'm sorry for your inconvenience. I’ll help find a solution for you as quickly as possible.
You: Thanks
Hannah L.: You're welcome.
Hannah L.: Please give me a moment to review your account.
You: sure
Hannah L.: Thank you. May I ask, when did you activate the Note 3 and when did you return the device?
You: One second please
You: Purchased 10/5 and returned today
You: Planning on buying the same phone again for a better price at Target as soon as I'm done resolving this issue.
Hannah L.: Thank you for the information, Rami.
Hannah L.: Please give me a few minutes while I go over the account notes.
You: Needless to say I'm not thrilled to be paying a $36 activation fee two times in a two week time.
You: Not to mention that I think it's unfair that current customers have to pay an activation fee and new customers get it waived
Hannah L.: I understand your part, Rami. For new customers, we can only waive the activation fee if they are Credit Union members and have applied the discount to the account.
You: Ok. That was a little besides the point anyway.
Hannah L.: With regard to the $36 activation fee, we can waive it if you return the device 3 days after activating it, Rami.
You: I'm really adverse to paying this fee twice. It's insane
You: How was I supposed to know this?
You: Best Buy salesman didn't disclose this to me
You: He said you can get a full refund within 14 days
Hannah L.: This is under the Sprint's Satisfaction Guarantee. The 14 days Satisfaction Guarantee is for the Early termination fee that is waived but not the activation fee. I understand how this could be frustrating, Rami.
Hannah L.: I apologize to inform you that you will be charged for the activation fee if you activate a new device.
You: Is there a supervisor I can talk to about this?
You: This is absurd
Hannah L.: Yes, Rami.
You: Can I please talk to one then
You: Because there is no way I'm paying $36 twice. I would rather cancel my account and pay the early termination fee for the other line
Hannah L.: Yes, I can transfer the chat to my supervisor, Rami. please hold one moment while I transfer the chat to my supervisor.
Hannah L.: Thank you.
You: Yep
Hannah L. has left the chat
You are being transferred, please hold...
Agent Kelly E. enters chat
Kelly E. : Thank you for waiting.
You: No problem.
You: I hope you can get this matter resolved for me
You: Because it's nuts
Kelly E. : I'll go over your bill to check our records.
Kelly E. : I'll make sure htat we get this resolved right now.
You: Do I need to re explain my situation to you?
Kelly E. : Please give me a few minutes to review everything.
You: Ok, will do
Kelly E. : No need for that. I have your conversation with Hannah on record.
Kelly E. : Thanks.
Kelly E. : I'm still researching the information for you. Thanks for your patience.
You: No problem. I just want to make it clear that I intend to use my upgrade TODAY. You guys will still get your $36.
You: I can't afford to pay it twice and don't think I should.
Kelly E. : Got that.
Kelly E. : Im sorry for all the inconvenience this has caused.
Kelly E. : The charge is yet to be billed on the October bill so I'll just remove this in advance.
You: Thank you so much for being reasonable.
Kelly E. : You'll see it on record once the bill gets printed.
You: I was prepared to terminate my existing line over this. That's how strongly I feel about the situation
Kelly E. : It'll also be updated online.
You: Ok. Is there anything further I have to do to make sure this charge won't pop up twice?

I officially got the phone from Target for $250! Mission accomplished. Also, I got the double activation fee taking care of. I highly suggest that anyone that paid more that $250 for this phone do what I did.

Good deal, is your credit good or bad. Just wandering cuz mine is pretty bad lol

I'm on the same boat as the OP. I bought my Note 3 from Best Buy on 10-7, and found out about Amazon's price yesterday. Best Buy will not price match anyone other then themselves after you bought the phone. I'll have to call Sprint tomorrow and see if they pull this double activation fee on me or not. I'll check out Target too.

I got mine from a 5 star celluar store.
Paid $350.00 ouch going back today and returning phone then matching to target after that and getting the $250.00 deal Thanks

Don't know how much of a factor your credit is. If you're due for a upgrade and have the $250 plus tax available in cash or credit card form I'm pretty sure they can't deny you service.

Dang, I actually do regret buying this device for the amount i did...oh well when the Note 4 comes out I'm going to be selling this one and buying off contract. the price difference should put me at upgrade price.

Back to the drawing board for me. The Note 3 I got from Target was having issues with the Sim card (and the widely reported in call audio problems.) Before returning it to Target I went to the only Sprint corporate store in my area and the moron did exactly what I did to try to correct the problem. That is he pulled out the sim card and put it back in and updated profile and prl. Needless to say that didn't do a thing.
When I asked if he could swap out the sim card he said they don't have any. WTF? You're the only Sprint store within miles and you don't have a sim card? You have to be F'n kidding me?
I ended up going back to Target to return the phone but of course they have no more in stock. So now I'm w/o a phone until Target gets it in stock again. Also, I was told that you can only reverse your upgrade with Sprint 2x. That means I have one more shot to get a working Note 3 for the right price.
At this point I'm just wishing I stuck with my HTC ONE and didn't utilize the contract extension. I'm getting tired of Sprint's garbage service and crap corporate store in my area.

I have the note 2 right now and I'm thinking about getting this phone. I can't seem to find the 250 Amazon price though.

Does anyone have a link to an ad for $250 ? All i can seem to find is $299. Thanks

$150.00 refund issued on bill! (Upgraded/Preorder/Premeir) Galaxy Note AT&T

Just received $150.00 credit on bill. My GNOTE was an initial early preorder/upgraded contract.
Premiere Business Acct
The goal here is to NOT have agents run around looking for answers on how to go about. YOUR CHANCES ARE 10X BETTER if you request nicely to even accept a credit on your acct for a $150.00
Reason Being; Agents mostly have the power to do that instanty.
Also marks an easy, instant customer satisfaction score call.
STEER them to ATG&T.com
Let them know the phone is offerred for 50% off. Its tyhe first phone featured clearly on the sales page.
You will get a run around. I was transferred about 4x.
Until one agent said no prob.
Good Luck!
Where is the link to this page?
Did you call Premier or Business Care (611)?
Yes ..I contacted Premeir as they are the ones who ordered the phone for me.
Throw that option out foremost when speaking to an agent; about credit your bill.
Make it light & easy for them. You will indeed get it done along the line somewhere.
Premier DEFINETLY has all the power to instanly issue an immediate credit!
How we know if we premier?

Discounted price shows up after you 'add to cart'
I just did the same, my upgrade was pre ordered through Premier online on 2/5/12.
Called 611, told them about my recent purchase and obvious disappointment in the rapid price drop of my new device - and that I'd like a credit to reflect the difference. They asked what I paid, how much it's selling for on AT&T.com and proceeded to issue a "one time only exception" credit to my account. Done deal, had to be on silent hold for a bit and the CSR confirmed the credit was applied to my account...$155 positive credit on my account since they were nice enough to credit me the tax =P
All worth it for a $150 Galaxy Note!
This does not apply to upgrades they said, it is only if you added a line or opened a new line. I guess being a loyal customer for so many years means nothing if you are not new business.
help! quickly!
I'm trying to get a 150 credit, but theyre saying that since i bought it in the store, i would have to return it to the best buy and then go online and buy it at the discounted price.
im telling them that i ported my number over from sprint and what would i do with my number if i brought the phone back but shes saying that theres nothing she can do!!!....
im asking for a superviser.. can somone help..
I too got the $150 credit but in a different way. I upgraded and have a premier acct.
I did not call but rather went to the local ATT store. I had my original G-Note invoice and a copy of the ATT checkout shopping cart showing the 50% discount on a new order for a G-Note. I indicated that this wasn't right after less than 1 week and that I really didn't want the hassle of returning the phone and ordering a replacement at the discounted price.
I was very nice throughout and even commiserated with the woman helping me because she was shuttled around to 4 different parties within the internal ATT web order service center over a 20 minute period.
Eventually she just got her manager who explained to me that they were not going to be able to get it resolved with the on-line folks and simply issued my account a $150 credit.

That's what I'm worried is going to happen if I try
I got a $75 credit for not getting my Note on time. I will stay happy with that and not get greedy. $225 for the Galaxy Note is still a great deal, seeing as I paid $249 for my SkyRocket.
But good luck to those who try getting this credit
I'm ordering mine today, this wont work for regular upgrade right?

I just called att the second time today and WOW! $250 credit from my sky rocket and note! Although the rep said it needs to be approved since it was a big credit refund and takes about 4-5 business days before it reflects my account. Hopefully I will get my refund back. Btw, premiere account here also, both phones are upgrade.

Simple and painless $150.00 credit!
Wow this worked for me right away without hiccups. Around a 10 minute phone call with ATT CSR (nice lady). I just told her that I purchased the Note 2-days ago for 299.99 and today I've seen the 50% promo that drops the price to 149.99, and If if I can receive a credit for the difference. She said "please hold on sir", came back and advised me that she can issue a one-time credit for 150.00 back to my account with no questions asked and without confirming I had actually purchased the Note, at all! I actually purchased through AmazonWireless (they refused any price matching or adjustments unless the price drops on their site in the near future).
I was not being stern or sounding angry. Just professional.
I am premier and the phone was an upgrade through Amazon Wireless @$249.95
I dialed 611 and got connected to Enterprise CSR without any transfer to other CSR's!
Thanks to OP for this advise! And am happy with my SGN (ceramic white) for $100 plus 2-year extended contract of course and additional 181 day EFT @Amazon Wireless

I called 611 the other day to see if they could match a different 50% offer that was found online...they quickly said no because it was a promo for add a line or new customers. Quick history lesson, i bought an infuse last year under upgrade, its been replaced 5 times. I got real fed up and told them I'd cancel unless they replaced it with a different device, they said they could not do that but they would however allow my 2nd line to upgrade some 8 months early. I called 611 a few days ago to get everything in order when they told me because of my situation i need to upgrade that line directly thru them which meant i couldnt purchace at my local retail store (drag) so today i called 611 to place my order and i referenced this new 50% deal, he said i most likely wouldn't qualify...i said whatever that's fine. As we were about to close the deal over the phone he told me that he can't process the upgrade cuz his system is under maintenance and to call back tomorrow. I called back in 5 minutes and started over. I again mentioned the promo than they transferred me to premier. The lady had no problem giving me the 50% off plus free priority shipping plus free activation. Had i ordered yesterday or even earlier today when the first dude had system problems i would have paid 299+15 shipping and 30 activation fee, i ended up paying $157 all said in done. Pretty nice savings if you ask me.

Is this applicable if there is already an exisiting FAMILY plan, then you add a NEW contract/number to that family plan?
I was charged $299 at bestbuy but I can still return/cancel the plan, then buy it on AT&T again then get 50% off.
Anyone?

I got $70 credited back

It's been 5 days since I purchased my Gnote for $300. I was able to get the activation fee waived and an additional 22% off my total bill thanks to being casino worker.
I went to Fry's yesterday to pic up a micro sd card and found they had the Gnote on sale for $229.
I immediately called AT&T and requested a $70 credit. At first the agent told me to "return the phone" and buy the one that's cheaper. I told him I don't want to pay a $35 restocking fee. Puts me on hold. He then says he would credit me $35. I stood firm and again said that I would like a full $70 credit. Puts me on hold again. He then says "I see you got an employee discount already". I interrupted him and said I don't want to talk about my employee discount I want to talk about getting a $70 credit back. For the 3rd time he puts me on hold. Finally he says where I got the discounted price, asked for the addresss of the store and even mentions that it shows Fry's is selling it for $279. I just about lost my patience but I lied and told him "I'm here at the store and they have them in stock for $229 and not for $279" He pauses a few seconds and then says "OK I will credit you $70".
So if it's been less than 30 days since you bought your Gnote for $300 as a new customer. Check your local Fry's store to see if they have it on sale. Call customer care and request a credit. Be prepared for them to do everything they can to prevent you from getting a credit but just be patient and keep at it on your request.
most agents i know give in easily. att bases our sales payouts on 24 hour resolution. so if a customer calls back within 24 hours for whatever reason it affects the agents score. so a lot of them just give in to avoid a customer that will call back. that's what a lot of people i speak with tell me they have to do to get sales payouts.

Yep been with them for 4 yrs, and If I want something I ask for it, I got mine from best buy for $250, and asked them to match the ATT $150 sale price, they took out another $100.
Frys Electronics sale today for 199. Called customer service and they gave me 100 bill credit. Just say you were told to get the credit and then they will ask their manager to honor it.
I got a 100$ credit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I called and told them a ATT rep at the store told me to call Customer Care and tell them I need my 100$ credit and it worked . It took about ten mins.
Damn I could really use a $100 credit. I bought mine not from a direct ATT store though, just an ATT licensed store. Do you think it would work? What do you guys suggest I say..?

Booyakasha!
Just called now, got a $100 credit in literally less than 3 minutes. All I said was "Hi I'm just calling to get a credit on my recent purchase for my samsung note. The Att rep that I bought the phone from told me to call in to receive a credit due to Fry's having the phone on sale for $199" She immediately said absolutely, asked for my account info, asked for my purchase price, and applied the $100 credit to my account right away. No getting put on hold, nothing. She said the credits usually take 24-48 hours to show up online so I'll double back with the report to confirm.
Seriously though (assuming this goes through), thanks so much guys. I literally spent pretty much all I had on this phone so this $100 will go a long way for a college student.

Nobody knows dude. It isn't coming out until a week after BF. Doubtful there will be any deals on this initially, maybe towards Xmas time or some promo at a few stores for gift cards. It isn't going to be released and then have an instant $100 off. You are pretty much stuck paying the cost as is.

You can weasel out of the activation fee if you go to the store. Just tell the rep you will buy from him/her if you waive the activation fee. (The reps make commission off of sells.) He/she will ask the manager for the ok and you should be good to go then. Feel free to mention that you are coming from Sprint and signing a new contract. If they give you crap, just pretend like you changed your mind and want to stick with sprint. If you handle it right, you will never have to pay for an activation fee.
I honestly doubt Verizon or Best Buy will go any cheaper on the device itself.

It has been really hard for me to get them to waive the activation fee. Tried to do it with iP4 and my sister's iP4S. Didn't work, went to 2 different stores/called in and tried to order it. Maybe it was just my luck..
I think you can get the activation waived if you go to a third party reseller, though.
I think if you get the phone at Best Buy where they don't charge an activation fee it'll show up on your first bill.

I didn't threaten my business. Maybe I will try that. Iheard the best way is to walk out saying you'll go to another sales rep, though since they aer commissioned based. Although it seems this may not matter as much, as they have lowered their commission by quite a lot for their employees to they might just be like F it, let him go to a dif store. I don't think there is any way in hell this will happen online or via phone though. I tried it before with absolutely no luck. They do not seem to budge at all.

Yeah, it sucks too because I called best buy/ best buy mobile and asked them about preorders. I asked if there was an offer next week for the note ii could I come in and preorder it and get the deal they are offering that day. They said no, the sale counts as the preorder date. I used to work in a retail store that had this exact policy as well, so it is doubtful you can get any deals anywhere at this point.
Yeah it sucks. Best Buy had a %20 off black friday coupon that we couldn't use on pre orders. Would have gotten it at $263
If anyone's interested, I think Wirefly is selling it for $280....at least for my zip code.

Not sure if they can waive activation, but if they can and do, I'll go with them.

Looking to buy this phone ASAP. My sprint contract is not up, but I will be cancelling and gladly paying them to get to a real LTE network. Anyone know of the best deal now or around Black Friday? I don't want to pay $299, and then activation fee, and then ETF fee, but i guess if i absolutely have to, I will.

I found the best way to do it via Best Buy via their $50 gift card offer they had months ago. You just had to register with it letting them know that if you upgraded you could use the $50 gift card towards it. Also a rep MIGHT be willing to wave their crappy fees in the promise you will buy accessories from them as I believe that still helps credit their sales scores for the month.

I got my Note III... for $7!?

Ok, I don't know what happened exactly today, but technically, I got a Note III for free. Somehow. Lemme explain:
I saw the Verizon30 promo code online last week. I called customer care, and asked them to add it to my pre-order. Un-possible they said...
I was able to get customer care to add a credit to my account for $45, then they would credit me another $45 after my 2-week return period ends (to know I'm locked in to my contract)
I then got my upgrade fee waived with another $30 credit to my account, because before they offered me my $90 credit, someone in Telesales said I could get my upgrade fee waived; I took her up on her offer, but with another supervisor.
THEN, I today received my Note III at work. I couldn't open the box, because I ordered the phone in CT, but I ordered it to my job in MA, where they charged tax on the full retail price on the phone. So, I returned the phone in the Fedex box unopened without a restocking fee, and went to corporate to do the return.
I was going to just return the phone, buy a new one and be out.
Then I realized the Verizon30 code was still valid, so I did an order on my laptop in-store, and did an in-store pickup option.
The salesman was processing my order, an error came up, I don't know what was happening.
I was coming in prepared to plop down $299 + CT taxes on the phone. I walked out paying a mere $90!!!
I don't know what the hell happened. I returned the other phone, and the money was being processed to my card already, have the receipt for that. Then, they only charged me $90 for the new one....
I asked them why, they didn't understand it, maybe an error with the promo code or something, but instead of getting $90 off the phone, I payed that amount. They said I shouldn't argue with that price, I agreed, paid and left. Now, I still am getting that $90 credit on my next bill, plus the credit for the upgrade fee I payed in store today. So, technically I paid $7 in tax for the phone at the end of the day, which is nutz.
if anyone else can explain what happened, please tell me, otherwise I'm very confused.
I only paid 175$.. don't know how either.

I got mine for 80$. I used the Verizon 30 code and they said I wasn't able to buy it for 209 so I had to get 120 in free accessories. So I just went back and returned the accessories
Same here.. I used the code and selected store pickup.. Walked in a hour later expecting to spend ~$250 all said and done... and was happy about it compared to the $350 it was going to be.
I get to the store and after playing a game of musical SIMs to get the Note 3 on my unlimited line, we come to the payment screen and he says $127.. I ask him if he was sure and we look at the break down and my unlimited was untouched and the discount charged me $90 for the phone instead of taking off $90.. Then $30 for the upgrade fee and I walked out with a Note 3 on my unlimited line for $127.
Verizon defiantly has some glitches in their system right now.. Here is to hoping they stand up for their mistakes and dont try and screw us later..
Just as a question, if they sold a phone for $90 on accident, could they then demand us to pay the rest? Or is the phone then legally ours?
Oh cool guys. I only paid $750 for mine. Lol

So with this "glitch", is this ordering online and doing an in-store pickup, or is this being done at BestBuy? How did you do it? I want to see if I can do the same.

me too haha
I also only paid 90 bucks. instead of charging me 210, they took 210 off the price! im so glad i wasnt the only one who did VERIZON30 and in-store pickup, now i dont feel as guilty :silly:
Wow, this thread is incredible. I was going to wait to get my Note 3 until root was available at least. I think I'll be kicking myself if I don't jump on this deal today. Thanks for the info, guys.
I believe it has to do with the VERIZON30 code and selecting In-Store Pickup. For some reason a lot of people are getting it for $90 when they do a store pickup (at a Verizon location, not Best Buy).

Mine only gave me the option to pickup at a offical verizon store. Which I didn't like because I really like the guys at the phones plus here better than the official vzw store.
But mine said that my phone was going to be 209 online but only charged me 89.99 once I got into the store.

This is just crazy. I'll be doing this over my Lunch break in about an hour from now. I'll post back to let people know it's still valid. Wish me luck!
What is the exact code for the promo? I'll do this right now

Are you guys upgrading your line? Will this work for those wanting to buy the phone at retail price?

I think this is for subsidized pricing only.
How does one get the $30 upgrade fee waived?

Complain about it to csr at store. I got mine waived. But that was before I heard about this.

Did you guys have to enter in credit card info online too?
It works!
After reading through this thread at 12:00pm eastern time (I'm in NYC) I decided to pull the trigger and give it a shot. I logged in online and put the order in with the VERIZON30 code. I entered my card number and it showed the total to be ~$260. I got the confirmation e-mail and went to the store where I was able to get the last black Note 3. The rep did the standard stuff with setting up the phone and checking out but he came across an error message. He asked his associate if he had ever seen anything like that before and the other guy shook his head. Unable to figure out what had happened he proceeded with the check out and I was able to pay for the phone for only ~$130 (couldn't convince him to waive the upgrade fee but I can't complain). I'm not sure how much longer it'll be before Verizon catches on but pull the trigger now if you're definitely sure about buying it!
Same here, I only paid 128... when i pick up the phone at the store last night, they want me to sign the bill, it was only $128. I was like really. The employees there was confused too. But they didn't care.

Trade in credit

Anyone know if we are still eligible for the $200 credit for upgrading even if we're in an old plan that gives us discounted pricing? Last time around for the Note edge wasn't required. I've gotten conflicting answers from chat.

I heard you have to sign a new two year agreement or add a new line.
Sent from my SM-G925T using Tapatalk
That's what I've heard too. Upgraded a line and in the past its counted. Here goes nothing.
They are offering a 200 bill credit or VZW gift card if you trade in any working smartphone. We had to trade in our phones to upgrade because they were under an edge agreement and were not completely paid off. They only give you the credit if you trade in a working paid for smartphone.
Sweet! Thanks for the helpful information.
Also won't work if you are trying to pay full list in order to keep your Unlimited, as I certainly want to. I was told you have to go with one of the new plans at a Verizon store, but who knows how truthful or knowledgeable the rep was
Pulled an original Verizon Droid out of the drawer for a tasty 200 credit today!
My girlfriend and I just switched to Verizon with this deal. From what the rep. said, it's ending on the 31st. At least here on the east coast. Figured I'd throw that in.
The promotion I am talking about is good until Sept 20th according to the rep I spoke to.

The rep you spoke to was probably trying to close a deal quickly. Deal is still up on their website as well. Also, Best Buy is also offering a similar $200 offer with their one gift card when you trade in a phone, plus you get a free wireless charger. (You can use that gift card towards the phone as well.)
I usually get my phones from Best Buy because if you end up not liking the phone for some reason, there's no restocking fee if you return within the 13 days they give you.
We turned in an old Droid X and a Droid Incredible the other day and got 400 instant bill credit. Man that was sweet.
Just got mine today and they still had the deal. Although, because of some system issues, it went towards my bill and not the down payment
Sent from my SM-G928V using Tapatalk
It should of when to the down payment, the only thing the trade in shouldn't of paid was the taxes. I was in verizon getting my phone and they tried to pull this on me, and three others while on the store. I went to the GM and asked why they were all making the same mistake, cause it was the exact same mistake (miss quoting the final price, saying they can't return the trade ins and they will put it on the bill) I asked if they were being trained this way, since it was scamming the customer. He got angry and said, I just follow orders and walked off. Vzw Corp is having agents screw this up on purpose, don't stand for it.

I sold my old one swappa and got more money and applied it toward the edge+
