Hi guys!
I just flashed Carbon 1.8 a few minutes ago by the recommendation of a friend, he uses the same for his Nexus.
So the thing is, I'm not really a fan of the CRT-OFF animation.
I scoured through the ROM to look for an option but I can't find an option to disable the CRT-OFF animation in the Carbon ROM.
Of-course I used the search function including the ROM thread, I even googled but I can't find anything related to Carbon. Is it in plain sight and I'm still somehow missing it?
Thank you for your time!

Hi, I've been running Task650 & Ktoonsez AOKP roms on my Galaxy S2 for maybe 9~10 months now (thanks btw).
Recently I've started having some problems which I hope somebody can help me with.
For some reason all of the folders on my external SDcard have started being doubled or tripled when in the phone.
It's like they're ghost copies that take no actual space on the card. The problem can be seen with a file explorer app or connected to my computer. If I take the card out of the phone and attach it to a computer the folders are normal.
It affects my ringtones and notifications, there will be two or three choices and only one of them will work, the others are no sound.
It also affects my gallery, lots of blank picture squares.
I attached some pics.
I've been having the problem with the 11/09 rom and now with the 11/20 rom.
[Rom] AOKP(Jellybean 4.1.2) | Task650 & Ktoonsez (11/09) on my Galaxy S2
[Rom] AOKP(Jellybean 4.1.2) | Task650 & Ktoonsez (11/20) on my Galaxy S2
I installed the 11/20 rom hoping to have the problem resolved but no luck.
The only thing I can think of that I've changed is that I've been using JusTunBean invertedgapps for these two rom installs.
I haven't found any reports of this problem on his thread, unless I'm searching for the wrong words.
Not sure how or why his inverted gapps would affect the sdcard like this.
If this is a problem with these gapps I'd like to find a way to get it fixed because I really like his inverted gapps.
Sorry if this problem has come up before but I couldn't find any similar posts.
Thanks for any help.
Search the forums. Its a well documented issue, not specific to this ROM.
Hi,
Im new to custom ROMS and have been trying many, I have settled at the moment on wanamlite ROMS which have what I want on and enjoy using. He updates regularly but recently he has stopped all theming and modding of his ROMS. I would like to try and get back the Blue Icons theme and the CRT Off that were on his Earlier ROMS. Could anyone help or direct to something that might be compatible with the ROM I currently have.
I am using his latest v5.5 based on XXELLA.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Hi folks,
I can't post at the end of this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1822447&page=46, so I have to create one here... sorry...
Has anyone got NFC working on original vanilla CM10.1.3 (4.2.2)? I've tried plain old 10.1.3 and RC2, with the V8 patch from the thread, but although I have a menu option, it won't read any tags. I've also tried with the Dorimanx 9.43 kernel and still nothing is doing.
It used to work fine with my original Orange 4.1.2 ROMs - but I got fed up of the bloatware.
Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.

It is working on 4.1.2 only not with 4.2.2 IMO.

per the first post in that thread, there's a version for 4.3 and 4.2.2. i've tried both and I have the same problem. I don't really want to revert back to stock rom, but I may have to
I have an international version of s3. the first rom i had flashed was foxhound based on 4.1.2. after a couple of months, i decided to find other roms to run as my daily driver. flashed a bunch of roms til i come to know of slimbean. flashed the one based on 4.3. after a week or two, wanted to try ultimarom v16. i backed up, wiped everything like i used to before flashing but this time something weird happened. i didnt get all the customizations that the rom is offering, just some minor ones.
so, i was wondering if i had done something wrong and missing anything. tried flashing it again but there were no changes. an example of whats missing is the inability to set toggles on the notification shade. cant even change the tiles on on the shade as well.
its kinda weird cause i read thru the ultimarom thread and those stuff were suppose to be in the rom.
thanks for ur help!!
Hello guys!
You have probably had a lot of similar questions regarding this topic, but I can't find any clear answer myself.
I have watched a lot of videos about CyanogenMod, Carbon ROM, ArchiRom (can't remember the exact name) and even a ROM called "Energy HD".
It's great that there are so many possibilities regarding ROMs, but it also tends to confuse me quite a bit - I personally do like a clean ROM, just with the basic Apps installed (Internet Browser e.g.), I also would like to have a nice battery performance and, thirdly, the possibility to chose which Apps I would like to install.
I hope you guys get what I'm trying to say.
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
Crash1k
There is no such thing as a best rom as this is subjective. The only way for you is to read and try the roms that seems the most appropriate in regards to your wishes.

Thank you for your help.
I have installed the latest ArchiDroid ROM. Everything works fine there, besides two things: I have random shutdowns and GravityBox doesn't seem to work, since there is already another Launcher installed (Google Now). I haven't found a way to fix that yet. Can anyone help?
Greetings,
Crash1k
-for me best rom for galaxy s3 is Archidroid v3.0.2 because it include a lot of optimizations , you can try it with boeffla kernel (CM11)
-Rom who include a lot of options ported from another roms is Temasek ( it include a lot of things like gesture lockscreen ...) , try it with boeffla kernel
-if you want maximum battery life, turn to touchwizz rom based on 4.3( Omegar rom or Android revolution) or 4.4.4 ( Blekota Note 4 or blekota s5)
I guess I will move away from ArchiDroid, since it randomly reboots several times a day, and there doesn't seem to be any support. Well, at least I tried it.
if you want a good battery life i suggest to you Liquidsmooth 3.2: it has a lot of configuration and a good battery life by the battery life mode that at off-screen change to off wifi, data, sync, kill all the applications... if you want another i say Resurrection remix 5.1.5. based on 4.4.2. Very stable and daily usable. A nice kernel for both the roms is boeffla.
