Hi. For some reason my computer just stopped recognizing my phone. It recognizes the internal memory, but not the sd card. I have the drivers installed as it has worked in the past. This is very frustrating as I'm not able to copy over ROMS, music, etc. Any advice?

Obvious :
Uninstall drivers
Reboot
Let them reinstall. If on windows, and still not working. Update driver, point manually to win-user-appdata-common-find the driver

Go to device manager
Look for your phone driver or usb composite
Right click and update
Choose or pick location-dont go with automatic update
Point to C/windows /user/app data /roaming /common/ find ur driver

Running Win7.
I just had the same problem a few weeks ago. Even after updating the drivers it still wouldn't work. Toggling between the modes didn't help. Restarted the computer and phone got me nothing. I restarted the phone a few more times and toggled between the modes before it finally worked. Haven't had an issue. Pretty sure it was just a glitch and self-resolved.
Make sure your phone is set to MTP.

One thing I forgot to mention...lately, my phone will stop recognizing my sd card and SIM. I have to eject them and reinsert at least once a day. This started happening right after my computer stopped recognizing the phone and seeing the sd card. Could be related, maybe not. Just throwing it out there. Won't hurt to eject the sd card and reinsert.

started when i began to flash ROMS (well from what i can remember) is it something im not aware of or are the ROMS have settings i dont know about?? running viperDNA right now coming from superchareged hatka 320 both great ROMS but i cant figure out how to get USB to mount to my PC any help greatly appreciated
Did you open up "My Computer" and see if the phone's storage was listed there?
Also, try switching USB ports if you can.
Yep doesn't show up...it says it "computer is installing files" and then comes up as failed...never did this before to me so I'm just wondering if it's as simple as a setting option or maybe cause of ROM but I honestly don't think it's the ROM thing

Use to just go into USB settings but now it takes me into "tethering"

1. While phone is connected, go in to your device manager and locate where your handset is. Usually under Android phone or Portable Devices. Once there right click on the device and uninstall.
2. Now disconnect phone and reinstall HTC sync or the HTC Drivers if you have them separately.
(If your phone was not listed in device manager than uninstall any drivers you have in your programs via control panel and follow step 2)
*Note* If you are in fact installing the drivers by way of HTC sync then after installation is complete, remember to remove HTC sync from your programs via control panel, your HTC Drivers will not be touched.

Everything was running smooth. Then I accidentally hit the camera(PTP) button on the USB options. Now every time i try to connect my note2 to my PC. It automatically goes into PTP mode. Go to USB options click on Media device (MTP) and it just keeps going right back to PTP immediately. Does anyone have this problem or a solution for me?
I've tried Reinstalling Kies, and drivers. Pulled the battery, basically tried everything and anything i could findon any thread with no luck. HELP!

AAAAAAHHH!
Any update on this? Anyone find another solution? I'm trying to pull a bunch of stuff off my Note 2 to put on my Note 3, but am stuck in this situation. I guess in a pinch I can copy everything from phone to SD card with ES File explorer then read the card directly, but that would suck.
Yeah man, that's probably what you'll have to do...alternately you can use adb and the terminal to copy all of your stuff pretty easily, but if you're not familiar that would be your best bet

Just use Dropbox. Then you have a backup of everything as well

Hi guys, i searched the forum before making this thread so hopefully im not spamming like an idiot, heres the deal:
I recently switched to Cyanogenmod 10.1 from Stock ICS Rom on Amaze 4g, before switching i was able to see both my internal and external sd cards when i plugged the phone to windows, they would show as "Htc Storage" and "External Disk", however after i installed Cyanogenmod 10.1 whenever i plug in my phone i only get "Disk F" and its only the internal storage, i can still access my SD card from within the phone itself and i actually store there pictures and music and stuff, but if i try to connect to the pc to download the pictures from the camera im unable to, it just wont show up.
I tried turning usb debugging off, back on, tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and i still cant seem to get it to work on windows, i tried this in two different pcs with both windows 7 and 8.
Its not a life or death situation but its certainly annoying, so any help would be greatly apreciated.
Thanks in advance.

You basically just download a ruu and run it in bootloader. You also have to out it on the root of the sd card (not in folders). And also name it to PH85IMG.
That's what I remember I'm not an expert on ruus.

Yup.
I think he should use other Rom for this Bcoz according to my knowledge cynogenmod doesn't support two SD card mountind
Bcoz they made is as a standard.
But RUU is the best way I think.

I fixed the SD card issue using MTP like he said, now my only problem is the broken video recording on cyanogenmod 10.1, has anyone found a fix for it? I tried searching the forum once again but i could not find one, i even tried flashing the 4.3 camera app and still, video recording is a no go.
Go in the dev thread and look for posts on July 1

Mac doesn't have built in MTP support for finder. You need the official app below.

Sounds like you have Kies installed. Uninstall Kies and it should work.

Completely unistalled or just dragged to the trash can?
Important! You must uninstall Kies for Mac before running Android File Transfer. Otherwise, the application will not connect to your device.
To uninstall Kies, download the Kies for Mac software by visiting the Kies website.
From Finder, click Go > Downloads > KiesMac_xxxx.dmg > Uninstall.
Why do you even need to connect your phone to the mac to root? Unless you have a 64gb sd card your going to have to format the sd card by taking it out of your phone first.
Did all those things don't have 64 gig SD card so how do I start this root without connecting I'm not a noob to custom recovery always read and with this Mac junk these phones really do have major compatibility issue

The card just needs to be formatted correctly.
Once that is done you need to extract the files to the root of the card.
You should be able to format the card in the phone.
Take the card out of the phone and use an adapter to directly connect to the Mac.
That's what I did.
hey,
I did an SD card encryption few months ago.. I set a password (which I remember ) for the kingston 32 GB microSD.
Symptoms:
No other PC/MAC device is able to see it. Windows says no media, Mac not even loads it.
Tried to plug in to the phone via OTG, it did nothing
When i put it in the sim place, it immediately pops up a window to put the password. But when I enter, it
freeeeeezes and says Wait or Quit.. no matter how many times i try it always fail to do the decryption.
Yeah I want to access my files.
Phone is Honor 7 PLK-L01C636B310. Updated it manually from B425.
I think I did the encryption AFTER the update.
Do you guys have any clue how to decrypt that card? maybe on any platform...
Thanks:fingers-crossed:
I tested on another honor 7, (android 6) and the issue is exactly the same.
it immediately offers to unlock it, when i type the password it get stuck, really slow, and it says if i want to kill or wait the program.
usually i get the " SD card decryption failed" message.
the phone gets really slow. i really dont understand what is going on.
can anybody help me?
Maybe you need to format it now.

i used the internal SD encryptor... if i am not mistaken the card was almost full and the process completed successfully.
nothing can see it now except the honor.

yeah, sake happens with bitlocker on windows, you encrypt sd card and try use on your phone - not working because bitlocker only supports windows devices to unlock it... same may be with that encrypter
