[Q] Battery animation when phone is off and charging - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Galaxy S3 running CarbonRom. Whenever my phone is off and plugged in all i get is a battery with an exclamation point on it. Is there any way to fix this and get the normal charging animation. It would be nice to know when my battery is fully charged. Thank you and i hope i'm posting in the right place.

SGS II Acting Odd!

Hey guys, hope some one can help me.
Firstly, this all started a week after I installed the MIUI ROM. I started noticing that when my battery was fully charged the screen would start flickering unless I took the charger off, other symptoms included loss of battery life and continuous green fully charged notification on the top left corner asking me to remove charger, and even when that's done, the notification wouldn't disappear.
I then flashed a stock ROM hoping that might fix things, but it didn't. When turning the device on, I also get a recharging battery icon that blinks with a drained battery icon and a yellow exclamation sign with a thermometer. Check video below:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_SXjEw2wyU
As for the screen flickering when fully charged issue, I stopped using the included Samsung charger and used one my Atrix chargers to see if I get the same flickering, oddly enough I didn't. So it would seem the Samsung charger is to blame.
It's really annoying me now, I get about a 4 and half hours a day before the phone completely dies on me, and that's without even using the device. If I get to work at 7am, the battery will be dead by 11:30am.
I noticed others have had similar problems although not the same, and this hasn't been addressed before, here's links to users with similar problems:

[Q] Help!! New phone. Does not charge at all.

Hello, I just received my Galaxy S2 I9100. As the instructions suggested, I plugged in the charger before powering up the device. Its almost 2.5 hrs of charging and I see the charging battery icon remains at 0. I dont see it charging at all. In addition to that, I sense there is quite some heat generated near the camera LED area during charging.
Please advise if there is any work around or should I return this device.
Please help!
If OOB doesn´t work as it should, i always send it to RMA.

[Q] My phone kills batteries, What to do?

Hi guys,
My battery life was getting shorter and shorter. So, I decided to buy me a new battery. I tried the battery and my phone turned on with the green charging battery.
As I turned my phone on when it was filled 100%, my phone gets stuck at the beginning (black screen Samsung galaxy blabla with the yellow triangle)
I thought this was weird so I started it in recovery/download and this does work.
After choosing for reboot I got the omega rom loading GIF, and suddenly I got KERNEL PANIC UPLOAD MODE.
I decided to try a battery from a friend (also Gt-i9100). This battery just worked in his phone so why shouldn't it work with mine.
As I tried it, I first got the message battery too low. But the battery was full in my friends phone. So I tried again, also stuck at the beginning screen.
To make it even more stupid: My friends phone wont boot either after I used his battery.
As I was really tired of this sh*, I decided to put my old stupid battery back in my phone so I could use it for +- 6 hours a charge.
Now my phone is stuck at the beginning with all the 3 batteries.
I tried to re-flash my omega rom, but it's still the same issue.
Is there something going on with my kernel? I thought I could erase the battery stats, but thats not a option in this CWM.
I'm really stressed, because like all of you, I need my phone every day.
Do you guys have any advice, tips or sollutions for my/our problem?
Searching and reading the topics that already discuss the points you made would be a start. :good:
Kill the phone, it's evil.

Maybe there is something faulty with the battery inferace of the phone or maybe you're just unlucky. I don't understand why your friends phone wouldn't boot after you used the battery - that doesn't make any sense - but either way, I'd order a new battery from a reputable retailer, if it stops working again in a similar way then get the phone fixed/replaced.
My suspicion is that it's either a fault with the phone or that there is something you're not telling us. I can't see how the battery (hardware) could cause your ROM (software) not to work unless the link between the battery and phone is damaged, in which case you need to replace the phone.

you have to charge your battery with an external charger or another s3, then try get your phone to download mode and flash a clean full firmware.
Keep always in mind to have at least 60% battery when you go flash something

[Q] complete noob here

Hello Everyone,
I'm a complete noob, and probably already jacked the phone up.
I got a Galaxy note i1717 and seen that there is a rom for it from aokp. However the batter wasn't charged at 100% and when I wiped the existing rom ( is was not a stock one from Samsung) the battery discharged before I could download the rest of the files and build my battle plan.
Now, the battery will not charge. If I remove the battery and put it back in, then insert the charging cable it will briefly show a battery symbol at 0, and then shuts back off. Left it on the charger all night, and no battery. So wondering if I damaged the battery, or if the phone will not charge without an OS installed.
If I can get a batter installed. Any other info on getting this thing going would also be appreciated.
Thank you,
Aaron.

I think you should ask this in your device forum thread. Might get a better answer.
Anyway, try to charge your battery with other phone or using stand alone charger, so we know it's OK or not. If its OK, you might want to see a solution to your issue by using Odin( only if you cannot boot to recovery). If your recovery still working, just do a full wipe and clean install the ROM you want to use.
Good luck.
