Hi Sharon,
Even i face the same issue. I am using Crashrom v8.2
I came across a solution for this issue in a different forum today and seems to work.
"when you playing music and if you use one of the buttons on the headphone piece you get a nasty wakelock called "HandleMediaEvent"."
I have used the phone today, and haven't pressed the buttons on my headphone (klipsch s4a) and i don't hv the wakelock and battery life is awesome!!
Please try the same and let me know if it works. :fingers-crossed:

Hi Sharon
I'm having the same issue and I don't use headphone. I'm on PhoeniX ROM 8.1. Seems right now that the only workaround is to Power OFF/ON the device... a simple reboot is not getting rid of it. What puzzles me is that I've been using this ROM for quite some time and starting getting this wakelock drain around 2 weeks ago (when you first report it )
No solution so far
Hi and SRY to bumpUp such an old entry - but i'm still fighting with this permanent WakeLock called handlemediaevent.
As far as i found out it is related to controlling events over bluetooth - no matter if it is a bluetooth-headset with buttons or a cars bt radio with touchscreen buttons. I just found some posts around this topic and posted it on different places - and for now it seems to be grounded in the android system itself - not in the hardware nor in a special ROM. I experienced this issue on my SGS+ with different ROMs and also on my new toy Xperia Z3c.
Here are the related posts/links:
http://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/100931-m11-connecting-to-car-bluetooth-gives-endless-handlemediaevent-wakelock/
https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z3-Compact/Permanent-Wakelock-quot-handleMediaEvent-quot/td-p/868029
So to sum it up:
This issue is not related to a special Phone
This issue is not relatted to a special ROM
Therefore it must be something general in KitKat which is not fixed up to 4.4.4 - Are there more infos about where to place this issue or is waiting for lollipop the only way to get rid of this annoying wakelock.
Tips and infos are highly appreciated
THX in advance

Same here. I confirm It seems to be in a cross-device Android issue: I had it on my i9100 (GS2) under CM11-M12 (final version), and it also seems to happen on the latest stock Xperia Z3 Compact firmware.
I am not too sure of it being bluetooth-only, because i have the issue using a Sennheiser MM70s wired headset (also tested with the Sony stock handsfree headset).
To reproduce,
launch a button-enabled sound/music app, like Podcast Addict (in my case)
plug a headset with physical button, or maybe a bluetooth headset
use the headset button to pause playback (normally, the phone should enter deep sleep)
from now on, the handleMediaEvent wakelock is active and won't go away unless you reboot (a soft reboot works), whether you disconnect the headset or not
I did'nt root my Xperia Z3 compact (yet), so i can't confirm that's the exact same wakelock, but it certainly looks to be preventing the device from entering deep sleep as well (the bottom blue line below the battery usage overview which describes "activity").
Thankfully, this does not seem to happen with Apollo, Youtube, or Sony's stock Walkman app, only with third party audio apps like Podcast Addict (whose developer claims that nothing can be done on his side as his app is already releasing the wakelock properly).
Xperia (in red, after pausing playback using the headset button):

Rooted i9100:
I would suggest that some admin renames the post to remove the reference to Galaxy S4 in the title, so that this thread could be used as a reference to this genuine, generic issue.
My best guess right now is that some apps may not have implemented the wakelocks release perfectly (i believe, in my case, PodcastAddict since i could not find any other app triggering the problem), so could any other users having the problem cite the apps that they are using when the problem arises ?
My best hope is that Lollipop fixes it: is such an un-released wakelock something that the Android system should tolerate for such a long period of time ? This may be fixed by e.g. implementing some per-Wakelock timeout.
I think this wakelock caused by user apps too. & not only, the first reason - bugs in AICP on my Xperia M, on which some apps works not always as they should, and then caused that annoying wakelock after more than 12 hours of usage.
You guys seem right on the money when it comes to audio over Bluetooth. After playing music over Bluetooth in my car, if I use my stereo to change tracks, I get that wakelock... (I wonder if it happens if I change tracks from the phone...) I'm on a rooted, stock rom Xperia Z3 compact.
Good thing the battery on this thing is so good, and it reboots so fast it's not gonna drive me crazy now that I know what it is... 8 hours of that wakelock and I've still got 35% 2 days in, and a bunch of calls and use.. Just noticed and narrowed down the problem and found this post...
And I use the Dsub app for my subsonic server. Not sure if it happens with Pandora too...

I guess you all know what i am talking about, these terrible laggy moments on stock ics that makes the phone somtimes not respond for seconds or minutes and make you unable to even do phone call or anything. I found why this happens. Its becouse bachround apps are not responding. Normally andoid will not show you the ANR dialog for bachround apps but you can enable that in developer options. I did that and know everytime the phone gets slow (it often happens when i get home and connect to wifi) i get massages like "facebook is not responding" "line is not responding" "viber is not responding" "youtube is not responding". Sometimes more then one at the same time and if i force close them the phone usally gets fast again.
IDK weather this is already known but its definetly a seriouse problem and we need to fix it.

So just remove the apps that are not responding...
You can make ICS run quite smooth with some tweaks

I have the same lag problems: it could be related to the stock kernel, because I'm using FXP211 CM9 ROM with locked bootloader (atis112 patch) and the lag problems appear again after some time of use (I already had lags with stock ICS ROM).
I'm going to unlock the bootloader and then try my Sola with the CM kernel hoping not to have this lag issue in the future.
First I didn't have it on cm9 but after installing Sony media apps and other Sony stuff it appeared again...

What do you get if you type
Code:
logcat | grep died
in a terminal?
Because I get lines and lines of apps closing (and probably reloading) because they die again and again. And by lots I mean 3 or 4 per second!
This means (I think) that android kills the process and reloads it again. I think it is a kernel problem. I hope I could unlock my bootloader...
Yep, lots of force close even on my tipo. The only solution for not rooted is disable data and wifi and play games in airplane mode. Anr disappears when the phone in this mode. On stock, everything wants a piece of ram and internet causing lots of fc. If rooted, get startup manager, disables app until you run it again. Also turn dont keep activities on, limit background apps.
Now using:
Sony Xperia tipo ST21i
stock 4.0.4
11.0.A.4.22
(rooted, locked bootloader)

Sooooo True
It's a shame, why sony guys can't undrestand the lack of ram in Xperia U and Sola and make our phones not to have more than a special amount of background running apps or when they closed they reopen after many later minutes OR AT LEAST LET US SELECT what we want to run in background and what we DON'T with android settings app so not to install another application that create more used RAM :|, It's very simple and a very basic respect any open source user must have!
Hope they'll understand one day that not everyone wants restricted IOS !
That explains why my Xperia U starts to be unusanble when I use the wifi of my university.
I will check
Me too... My phone sometimes freezes for a while, even in settings. I also changed background apps to 2 but still experience lagging. So, I almost got mad and wanna throw phone . Then, I switched to CM ROM, the performance is perfect.

After trying many many many roms I can say Stock is best. Till now No problem at all. All the time I press home button instead of closing app properly. I know it affects battery life but on Speed not at all. Yup it do slows down on wifi that is not even noticeable. I dont know but In my xperia P Stock internet explorer app and facebook app takes upto 150mb ram. When I was on Sola the main reasom of slowing down were these two apps.

good to know though, thanks
I got a wireless charger for my Nexus 5 this Christmas, and was a little disappointed to learn that Android 4.2.2 added a notification sound that plays whenever a device is placed on a wireless charger, but provided no way to disable it. The reason I wanted to silence the notification is because I intend to use the charger in my bedroom, and if I'm up late the little jingle is more than likely going to wake up my wife (who would not be pleased).
Now that Lollipop has rolled out, I am no longer supporting this. I have no way to test it because I don't use Xposed anymore. Sorry. However, I'm working on getting a subset of these settings into the native Android settings instead. Once I've got that down I can post links to the relevant repos here, so that others can cherry pick the changes into their ROMs if desired.
So I decided to throw together an Xposed module to address the issue, since I couldn't find anything else that would work cleanly, and I decided to release it for anyone else who might find it useful.
The module is pretty straightforward, and it provides you with a handful of settings for wireless charging:
Play the system's notification sound when you put your device on the charger
Vibrate when you put your device on the charger
Play a custom notification sound instead of the system one
Wake the display when placing your device on or removing it from a wireless charger
You can enable these in basically any combination you want. Need total silence? Turn everything off!
Wireless Charging Xposed has only been tested on my Nexus 5 running CyanogenMod 11, but it should work on any AOSP based ROMs without issue. I don't know about other system ROMs, but it will work as long as the manufacturer didn't alter the part of AOSP that plays the notification. It does not appear to work on TouchWiz ROMs currently; I may look into this in the future if I have the time/resources, but can unfortunately provide no guarantees/ETAs.
I'm distributing the module here on XDA for now as well as in the Xposed modules repository (web link). If you think this is totally awesome or something, and you feel like "donating", I'm also putting it up on Google Play for $0.99 USD. There are zero differences between the paid version and the .apks here on XDA (i.e. the free one does not have ads). You're not obligated to pay anything if you don't want to. The Google Play page is here.
You can find the source code on my GitHub repository; it is licensed under the GPLv3: https://github.com/eldarerathis/Wireless-Charging-Xposed. Contributions are always welcome!
Feel free to leave questions or comments, and if you find a bug you can let me know in this thread. I may consider suggestions, but I make no guarantees; this is just something I put together with a few hours of spare time to fix something I found to be seriously annoying.
And of course, thank you to rovo89 for the Xposed Framework that made this doable.
Having problems?
Because of the way this module hooks into charging events, it can be a bit picky about the order that you enable things. It's something that I'm working on, but for now, make sure you perform the installation in this order:
Install the module and activate it in your Xposed Installer
Reboot your device
Open the module's settings page and configure it however you'd like
At this point, Wireless Charging Xposed is known not to work on Samusng devices that are running TouchWiz ROMs. If you have another device with a non-AOSP ROM, your results may vary. If you think you've found a bug, please take a peek at your Xposed logs (open the Xposed Installer and tap the "Logs" item) and attach anything that might be relevant.
Changelog:
v1.0 - Initial release
v1.0.1 - Fix a suspend blocker that may have caused excess battery drain
v1.1 - Add the custom notification sound setting
v1.2 - Add the wake on charge setting; Bulgarian translations (by mamutcho)
v1.3 - (apk removed) Add the wake on undock setting; fix the summary text of the custom ringtone preference
v.1.3.1 - Fix a potential crash when trying to resolve the custom ringtone name
This is exactly what I wanted and it works on stock ROM. I wanna pay for this app!

That was the one additional thing I was already considering, so I went ahead and added it this evening.
Buddha almighty! So happy! I hate the wireless charging notification with a burning passion. Thank you for the module!
Cool... I have used a workaround for this (replaced the wireless charging sound with a silent ogg file), but this is way easier.
Thanks!
I'm having a problem getting it to play a custom sound. It will play any stock sound that comes on the phone, but when I put sounds I download from the internet or the ZEDGE app, it will not play them. Any idea why?

What type of files are they (i.e. MP3, OGG, etc) and where are they stored on your phone? I'll see if I can reproduce that when I have a chance.
I will note that the current implementation is intended to only allow you to pick things that are considered "notification sounds" by the system. The reason for that is because if you picked, say, a song file then when you put your device on the charging plate the entire song would play, with no way to stop it. That seemed like it would be kind of silly, so I write the code to support that scenario. Not saying that's what the problem is in your case, though.

It may sound silly, but I wanted it to play a Mario power-up mp3 file when it was put onto the charger. It was a mp3 file I had downloaded and stored on my phone. It probably isn't considered a notification sound by Android though.
EDIT:
Well I tried it just now and it is working like I wanted it to. I'm not sure why it didn't work the first couple times.

Just out of curiosity, was your phone close to fully charged when you were testing this? I noticed the other day that the system doesn't fire the "charging began" event if your battery level is above a certain threshold (looks like 95% in AOSP). My assumption is that this is so that it won't notify you constantly once it hits 100%, because the charging circuit probably cuts out at that point, lets the battery drain a little bit, then bumps it back up to 100 (and repeats that cycle).
For what it's worth, I'm having trouble getting it to play any custom sound, even stock Android sounds. It does mute things nicely, though
Before installing this module, I noticed that the charging sound would frequently get clipped (cut off in the middle). Not sure if that's related. I also have Gravity Box installed, so it could be a conflict.
this is a very useful mod..
but still not complete.. hahaha
can add more features?
i have problem with overheated on custom roms/kernels.. not all but few of it.. sometimes im worried if my device is overheating and i have to keep unlocking my phone to see the temperature - thanks to dashclock battery extension
i still couldn't find any app to enable sound notification.. LED notification is not enough..
so can u add enabling notification if device is overheat?
anyway thanks a lot for this!! great work man! :good:

I noticed the clipping and some other aberrations on CM without any kind of Xposed modifications, so I'm wondering if it's something in the system that's causing it. I'm hoping that's not it, but if it is then I'm not sure if I can fix it

Can you take a look at the Xposed logs and see if there's anything unusual? Just tap the "Logs" item on the Xposed Installer's main screen and check the most recent entries at the bottom. Also, does the sound work, or is that busted too?

I guess first would be some general troubleshooting, like checking to make sure your system volume isn't muted or anything. Does it play the sound without the module installed, completely stock? Is your battery below 95% when you start charging it?
Anyone having difficulty with custom sound files:
I can't reproduce the problem on my N5, but I re-implemented the piece of code that does the playback to use a different method. A test build of the .apk is attached to this post, so give it a try and see if it makes a difference. You may need to toggle the custom sound option off and then back on again before the first time you try.
If it doesn't work, check your Xposed logs and see if there is anything there. It should write some information if the playback fails due to an exception or error. If there's nothing there and it doesn't work, then let me know:
What kind of phone you have
What version of Android you have
What ROM you're using (or "stock", if you're not using a custom one)
...and I'll see if I can figure out what's going on.
Hey guys, so since i've gotten my S4 i've noticed that I have horrible battery life. My biggest gripe is when i'm not touching my phone. For instance, last night, charged my phone and after it was done I went to sleep. About 12 hours had passed by the time I had touched my phone from it being charged, minus checking the time a few times. My phone drained from 100% to 64% percent, not being used! I'm gonna try and give as much info as I can as I want some help to understand what's going on. Ok, I use Nova launcher. I have one widget that I use, HD widget clock. I put my phone on blocking mode when I go to sleep to suppress all notifications. So there is no LED usage when the phone is idle. The other thing I like to do is end every active application and clear memory(both from task manager) when I go to bed. Last night for the first time I turned off Wi-fi to see if that would help, obviously not. the last thing I do is turn the screen brightness all the way down. I'm gonna include some screenshots of the app "better battery stats" so maybe that will help, because I don't completely understand it.
Thanks for any help.

Not sure why to say. My wife has a S4, stocked and her battery life is more than adequate.
safestrap enabled hyperdrive powered
My s4 has great battery life. I rooted it, removed a lot of bloat ware, installed SetCPU and applied some profiles. Since I can't use my phone at work, I turn my data off and leave it there. In 8 hours, my battery level only went from 100% to 94%. When I'm at home, I also leave my mobile data off and connect to my wifi. I also use a task killer as well. Screen brightness can also take a major affect. There are many ways to conserve your battery. If you have a lot of apps running in the background, that can drain your battery as well.

It shows over 4 hours awake time...were you using it for that time?...if not you have a major wakelock that keeps your phone from idling...personally I keep WiFi data and all location access turned off unless using them...better battery stats is a great app...there is a function on there that allows you to see what's causing wakelocks...it should help in diagnosing some or most of your battery drain...I used it to find my issues and last time I did a short test I lost 3% in about 16.5 hours...that's with a couple very short calls/texts and only using it to check time

I work a third shift job so a lot of days I sleep very late into the afternoon. When I wrote this post I hadn't even been awake for 4 hours yet. So no, I hadn't used it. I'll try and grab a screenshot of the wake locks stat.

If you click other it will bring up a menu that shows kernel wakelocks and partial wakelocks...messing with most of the kernel related ones can be tricky...but 99% of the time the problems can be solved by messing with the settings in the apps that show up under partial wakelocks

So, it looks like maybe light manager may be my biggest problem? That's interesting to me because I put it in blocking mode. I guess that doesn't make a difference.

Hmm...are you rooted?if so you can download an over/under clock app that allows you to set profiles like screen off min MHz...with min set lower your phone can wake and do what it needs to do without it jumping to higher MHz which will help keep battery use way lower...It looks like you are running stock touchwiz...I'm not too familiar with it because I use aosp ROMs...I know some touchwiz ROMs are bad on battery...do you know which build you are on?its under about phone where it says build number

No...nova is just an overlay that makes things more user friendly...touchwiz is always running in the system and can't be removed without damaging stability...if Samsung would ship their devices with pure android from original source their devices might near perfection...but I have never used nova and don't know how it affects battery

You can try it...if it doesn't help and you like the app you can always reinstall...there are also a few decent battery life threads on xda here that may have answers that I don't...good luck
I run Nova and it doesn't effect battery life at all for me. There are some really good wakelock detectors in the play store that are easier to use although better battery stats is good too. I'd try using greenify as well. It works great

I think this deserves its own thread so more people will be able to get a better view of the Vodafone Kit Kat update which i got today as an OTA ( D80220A DE 16GB ).
1. Auto brightness works perfectly (although it's a bit dark in low light conditions, maybe my eyes have to get used to it)
2. Knock on is instant, works perfectly and it's 100% accurate and successful (led light flashes cyan instead of white)
3. Auto account sync now works perfectly(it used to refresh randomly)
4. Battery life is actually better
5. Some apps run faster and they have the 3 dot option which first appeared on 4.3 I think?
6. Locations services and gps have merged to a single toggle button but you can still switch to different modes. Also more battery efficient.
7. White icons on status bar and transparency for status bar + front touch buttons on apps that support it
8. Updated LG applications
9. On screen phone application added (allows to control phone screen from the computer while on wifi) and preinstalled Google Drive app.
10. Camera photos are saved by default in a "camera" folder instead of the 100LGDSC.Camera(old) contains the old photos in gallery.
11. No knock code and no ART options available.
12. In application settings there is a separate "Disabled" bar next to "All" listing the disabled apps (Which is very convenient)
13. Printing added on general settings
14. 4G works normaly as before
15. The font on some apps is bigger
16. Weather animation now working properly and without lag on the lockscreen
17. Camera autofocus seems to have been improved, especially in video recording
18. No more stuttering on menu animations while something else runs in the background (i.e. When a chat head pops up or the weather widget refreshes)
19. Option in settings for turning on or off the led notification light for downloaded apps
20. Aspect ratio correction was removed from the settings (I can't find it so correct me if i'm wrong)
21. Two new FM radio widgets available

Issues:
1. "com.google.process.gapps has stopped" error showing up after each boot
(Note : Reportedly a hard reset fixes this)
(Note 2 : I confirmed that SwiftKey causes the error and it should be resolved by an app update.
Vote for the bug here: http://support.swiftkey.net/forums/...stions/5560697-foreclose-on-lg-g2-at-t-kitkat)
2. The Bluetooth process is running even when off but i don't see high impact on battery life as others mentioned.
Eventually people will report the issue and it will be fixed in a future update.
3. Noise and hissing when playing music with earphones and the stock player.
4. Sometimes, when plugging in the headphones the sound comes only from the the phone speaker and only way to resolve this is by rebooting.
(As for the lower benchmark scores after KitKat i've never tried it and i couldn't care less)

Additional thoughts:
This update is more like an "under the hood" job ! Phone feels smoother and stable overall, many small issues have been sorted and a few details here and there were refined and polished, resulting in a stock Rom the way it should be done. In short words I'm very satisfied.
Feel free to ask me questions
Regards!

True I don't either!

I'm not sure if this is KK related or it has been there before but when I receive an incoming call while I'm browsing a small window pops up with the caller info and 'answer' and 'reject' buttons so you won't get interrupted by calls if your doing something which is a really nice feature!

Wao this is a very positive review regarding update. Seems like it was well worth the wait.
I'll be very glad if Auto Brightness is working fine now.
Two questions
1. Opening threads in messages app seem to take a second in JB. Any difference felt in kitkat?
2. Photos taken as portrait come out as landscapes in PC and have to set them as portrait again in windows. Kitkat solves this?

1. Not sure if it's a second but doesn't seem to have changed for me
2. It's the same, but I think this is due to the way Windows Explorer handles the photos.

It's faster like 1/4 of a sec than before that's y i didn't use the stock sms app but it's ok now @Cienight Music playback uses less power definitely. That was a major kitkat change and LG applied it well here.I listen to alot of music so I know.
anyone know how to get rid of bluetooth running in background even though its not on?
I found that the rotation on home screen from portrait to landscape is smoother.
No widgets redraw or stutter like on JB.
Thats a good thing..

there was a suggestion to choose only bluetooth from the battery saver items and turn it on immediately but i tried that and it doesnt woek.
Can you try swiping the navigation bar downwards? I saw a video about a KK review on G2 and he can hide / show the nav bar by swiping gesture. Please confirm?
The bluetooth service doesnt seem to run on the Korean version guys.Maybe they fixed it?
I found another issue guys tho i dont know if its only on my end:
When using the quick window case there was supposed to be music controls when playing music with the stock player,no?
Anyone that can confirm this?

you can activated it on setting>general>accessory>quickwindow case> tap it ON and then choose "select apps", checklist "music"
You can now double tap on app picker to select app

Oh god this is so frustrating i hope they fix this fast...
Hi guys, I want to use this Thread for share the bugs and the problems of android 11 update from sony.
In the end I'll can share all this bugs to Sony Developers and hope for a fix.
My device: Sony Xperia 5 ii [Firmware Vesrion: 58.1.A.1.178 Android 11]
Problems & Bugs:
1- When you get a notification with the always on display: the icons of apps that have a notification are no longer displayed example: instagram or telegram icon are not displayed in the always on display.
2- In multitasking the ability to copy text directly into any app has been removed (it was a new android 11 feature that sony apparently removed) .
3- The application drawer now (in android 11) has a completely black background in "dark mode", and not dark gray like the previous version. (there is no possibility to set dark gray) .
4- The shutdown screen is not adapted to the 21: 9 screen and is too far up and difficult to reach.
5- The flashlight when used makes very little light compared to any other smartphone. Problem also of the last android version.
6- There is no possibility to use android's original Theme and Backgrounds system to change interface color and icon shape.
7- [!NEW] Black screen when you make a screenshot on videos.
8- [!NEW] The notification light blink too slow and is not easy to see if you get a new notify.
If you find a bug or problem please reply
• Little update 02/03/21 (MM/DD/YY): I contacted sony from the chat in real time and I reported all this bugs to developers.

I'll add increased battery drain.
I had a random reboot about 3 hours after updating. Can't be sure it was anything to do with the new version as I wasn't using the phone at the time. Just saw it go off and the SONY boot screen appear.
i got two reboots, one during typing a whatsapp message and the other when i plugged it into a charger
Got another one this morning, only realized when i took the phone out of my pocket and it asked me to enter pin
Grr, another restart, so I did a backup, factory reset and a restore.
Fingers crossed that does the trick

That does sound like a lot of reboots! I've not had any since the one on the first day of update.
Struggling to see that much benefit or difference to Android 11 if I'm honest. I like the screenshot in task switcher but nothing much else new. More negatives if anything! Someone else posted about the black screen when holding the power button for example.
I've just noticed notifications history doesn't show. The 'Notification log' is empty.

I'm not sure if this is the same issue but my always on screen is showing out of date notification icons. The ones in the attached picture show notifications I've definitely swiped away previously!
My always on display is set to display on movement but I can't see changing that option will make any difference to the icons.
my sony 5ii XQ-AS52, is working in a very weird way
caler id- when im having one cal at the time, everything is a okay.
geting caller id of a waiting call while im all ready in another call isnt working. i can hear sound of another call but no caller id just black screen
ui- when you open app and return to home screen, the the apps that are pin to the uper spot of the screen are starching up in very weird and unatural way. its not consistent.
sudden mute- Microphone stops working intermittently during calls.
geekbench- 30 percent drop in performance tests
some thoughts:
i tried to get humen suport from google, regarding to stupid problem with chrom freezing sins the day of android 10, but they are only referring to useless articles.
this inst the first/second/fifth android version, this isnt the fisrt time this tsunami of bugs is raining on users affter major system update, so why the hell this procedure isnt improving??
its make me very angry to see how many people with different devices having so much troubles
pepole that spent a lot of hard erning money for their smartphones.
in time perspective, android is getting more and more restrictions (no call recording, lot of google blotware pre install and more) the opposite of what brought her to success
how come pepole pays for working devices and google is ruining them and taking the time(or just politely ignore it) to fix it?
why pepole should have to root their smartphones in order to be able to use basic functions like chosing their favorite browser, call recordings and god forgive me the option to delete fb, cod and booking com.
this is without mentioning the time, the brick/warranty risk by rooting.
if software updates are so good why we can roll back in all android smartphones? what is so scary?
i like android, but i dont like the way google is going and this is contrdict to the compony big promise, do not harm
i dont know how to rol back.

Just updating on this one as I don't think the issue is with the update as such. From what I have seen, the icons look to be legitimate notifications that are active, with the exception of the Facebook Messenger icons. Even if I have closed the chat bubbles these still appear. Maybe just an issue with how that app integrates with the lock screen?
EDIT: This is way worse than I initially realized.
The navigation bar/pill is buggy as hell.
First of all, I now have an ugly-ass black bar on the bottom of my screen in a lot of applications (maybe all of them actually, I'll have to check). I even have this bar in full screen/landscape apps which looks even more stupid.
Second, the bar sometimes gets stuck on one side of the screen. Meaning that when I switch from a landscape app to a portrait app, the pill will then be on the right side of the screen for no reason (and vice versa).
Finally, the gesture pill interferes with taps and gestures ALL THE DAMN TIME. Anything that is too close to the pill I cannot tap or swipe.
I open any app, there's a black bar at the bottom for no reason. I play a game in full screen, I can't tap tiny icons on the edge of the screen because the gesture bar interferes. I go back to Niagara launcher, I can't swipe through my app list because the gesture pill is stuck on the right side and, again, interferes.
This is plain unusable.
Battery drain on android 11.. A10 is better for battery life...
Maybe try a factory reset?
Lock screen updates seem to enter deep sleep and even the clock shows a time in the past for a moment when you double tap to wake it. Same with notification icons.
So, here's an update on lock screen mode vs icons/time inconsistencies and also notifications lag.
If you go to Ambient Display settings and then "When to show Ambient display", if you set it to "Smart activation" then the info in the lockscreen is refreshed properly and even more important, notifications when the phone is locked are showing up without delay.
the chat head is being replaced by buuble or something called like that, and it's causing restart when ever you try to tap the plus button
It seems that first A11 security/maintenance (not sure about this) patch has arrived, hope some issues are fixed.
New A11 update just arrived: 58.1.A.3.87 (Feb/1st Security Update)
I just got a new X 5II yesterday.
After i read about some problems with A11, i made a Geekbench 5 test between A10 and A11.
The results are ...
A10 - CPU - SC 898 / MC 2736
A11 - CPU - SC 719 / MC 1951
I reseted the phone and ran the benchmark again.
A11 (reset) - CPU SC 700 / MC 1811
I think there is a lot wrong with the A11 Update.
UPDATE 24 h AFTER THE UPDATE:
The results of geekbench are now a lot better:
SC 880 / MC 3132
Seems A11 is doing a lot of background stuff after the update
@infinity81 You might want to test again after a week or so. There have been multiple reports about this improving after a while. Somebody posted a screenshot with a score of 886/3148 on a different forum.
