[TIP] Get stuck in a bootloop sometimes? - G2 General

This is just a sort of heads-up. Saved me from thinking I had to do a full restore.
I have a habit of keeping my phone plugged in at all times, even after 100%. for extended periods. After flashing a new kernal and clearing cache while I was plugged in, I got stuck in a boot loop. The clearing cache part took too long so I figured it got stuck and did a reboot and got the boot loop. So I unplugged my device from the AC charger and plugged it into the USB port on my PC. I booted my device and lo and behold, it booted just fine. And I tried this again. Plugged into AC, let it sit f or 10 mins and rebooted. Got bootloop. Took it out of the charger and it boots fine. My thermal settings are all default by the way. I've never experienced this with other phones before so I thought this might be of some help.
TL;DR : If you get stuck on a bootloop when you try to reboot when you're plugged in and charging, unplug, wait a few seconds and reboot.

Ive had a hot reboot problem that puts my phone into a bootloop and one of two ways gets it out, 1 turn it off if you can and let it sit for 20 minutes or pop in in the freezer for 5 as it looping.

[Q] Phone not recognized in ODIN.

Last night, I noticed that my phone had stopped playing audio while streaming from google music, so I decided to restart the phone, hoping that would solve the issue. I restarted the phone, but this time, neither the audio worked, nor could the phone connect to the cellular network. It could however connect to the wifi. I rebooted the phone once again, but this time, the phone would just load to a certain point and quit doing anything else, that point being the screen with the Warning Sign.
I can't seem to be able to start the phone in CWM first of all, and when I tried to put the phone in download mode, ODIN could not detect my phone was plugged in at all.
The ID:COM is blank and I can't flash the Zedomax Kernel or I777UCKH7-CL503881-No-BL.
I'll try doing this from a different computer at school later today, but in the mean time, help me please.
Edit: So I ran the device through device manager, and it turns out the cable itself went bad. I'm flashing I777UCKH7-CL503881-No-BL and waiting for results of that.
I flashed I777UCKH7-CL503881-No-BL, and the boot screen has changed. The yellow warning arrow has disappeared, but I can't boot into the OS or CWM?

The Screen just hangs at this screen:

[Q] [Help] Unable to flash anything, stock or custom. pit Repartiton error..

I was using a custom rom AHDR 17 (Android HD Revolution) for 3 weeks without a single issue.
Last night I went to bed with the phone on 88% battery and woke up 6 hours later to find it completely flat beyond belief. I couldn't believe this because with AHDR I could let my phone stay idling for 3 hours before losing a single 1% of battery.
After plugging it in and letting it charge, I booted it up to find that half my widgets and etc. had been removed and half of the apps I had set up weeks ago no longer remembered any of the data that I had put in them.
I set up a few of the widgets again and then went back to sleep for an hour.
I woke up again to find it off, but fully charged and now it won't boot at all. It never gets past the 'Galaxy S3 GT-I9300' screen etc.
I tried flashing AHDR 17 again from Clockwork Recovery after doing a wipe cache, factory data reset and wipe dalvik cache.
The aroma installer won't get past 0% before it reboots straight back to that 'Galaxy S3 GT-I9300' screen.
I then tried flashing over Slimbean but the same thing, it won't get past 0% on aroma no matter what options I choose.
I then tried flashing via ODIN an Official Stock ROM: I9300XXELK4 but I got this error:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
So I tried again with a different Stock ROM: I9300XXELL4
but I got the same error.
Then I tried flashing this stock ROM: GT-I9300_XEO_I9300XXALEF_I9300OXFALEA_I9300XXLEF
with an included .pit file that was supposed to work and allow a repartiton but I got this error this time:
So no matter what it seems I am unable to repartiton my device and/or flash anything either via Recovery or via ODIN.
Does anyone have any info as to what my options could be? My download mode shows that I have an 'Official' Samsung binary. So I am not sure if my warranty is void or not. But I am not particularly in the mood for returning my device 7 days before Chrstimas as I probably won't get it back until late January next year.
I am stumped as to how this could have happened and I no longer care how my phone went from working better than I had ever had it work in its entire life, to suddenly as dead as a door nail.. I just want it working again.
Thanks will be given to any replies and I will consider absolutely everything, unless it involves microwaving my phone LOL!
have a look for the 'sudden death' thread in these forums.
EDIT - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1993044
if no one can come up with an answer then you could just contact a samsung service center look on the website to find your closest one then take it there but only if you cant sort it your self or get warenty cuz they will charge you for sorting it make sure your cable has 5 pins in the end of the cable that you plug into your phone cuz when i updated my friends phone in kies it nearly bricked the phone so she took it to the service center as i could not get it to recognise the phone

Solved by fastboot flash recovery.
Thread Closed
2015.12.13
Here is the thing. My phone is Kyocera Brigadier E6782 [Verizon], a very unpopular phone. Today morning, I downloaded SuperSu and it let me update the Binary or something like that.
Then I clicked the normal option, it fails. I clicked the cwm/twrp option afterwards, and it reboot. Plus it says it will enter recovery mode.
[Then it just made my day] +=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=
Before that, I was totally unaware of barely anything about Android Flash, so I unsurprisingly did not have any recovery mode in my phone.
[But now I know because I learned on this day, thanks to the bootloop!]
When the phone starts to reboot into recovery mode, it became bootloop, bricked, - softly I think.
What I mean here is that now my phone can't boot, my computer doesn't recognize it. Most importantly, I can't load fastboot and recovery mode simply because I don't have that ****.
What's more, I don't have a removable battery[rugged version], which lots of threads mentioned, is fairly important!
My only clue is that the phone will pop up a 1 sec image and flashes, BOOM, restarts again and again.
I have read nearly every helpful threads in the xda about how to solve the brick, bootloop problem today. It does make me learn a lot. I tried adb, fastboot and all I left is to get you guys help here. I know this morning I was panic, but I think this is clear regarding to everything it just happened today. I hope someone can really troubleshooting or point a solution for me. I will be giving my biggest appreciation to that!
Not afraid of explosion, I let the phone fully charged last night, in the meantime it was still endlessly rebooting. When I get up this morning, I press the power button and vol up, a green notification[shows fully charged signal] was on after the phone shuts down. I hope it was a premonition of being able to enter the fastboot mode. God bless me.
did you find a solution
i have the same problem now with mine but i found out how to access the operating system while its boot looping, just hold volume up and power keys until a dialouge pops up saying failed to start then release power then immediately press again. then when it vibrates this time release all keys. it will boot up. i need to fix this bootloop because i cant format my phone or access recovery enviroment. when i goto install supersu it say cant install.

BTC Flame Kids Stuck in a boot loop.

Morning guys.
Hope someone can help. I've been driving myself crazy for a couple of days trying to reset my kids tablet. Its stuck in a boot loop and the usual power/vol+ or - doesn't load to recovery or safe mode. There is no pin hole for a reset that way. I have no access to laptop/pc.
I use a smasung tab4 running with a custom rom by emoboy just now (Ios8).
Please help if you can guys my wee man is 6 with autism and is heartbroken.
Thanks.
hold power for 10/20 seconds until it turns off.
hold up and power for upto 20 seconds to boot to recovery
or
hold down and power for upto 20 seconds to boot to recovery
This is 'generic chinese tablet' instructions unfortunately, but know its always more difficult than it needs to be
From recovery, dependant on model, there could be a 'wipe cache' and 'wipe dalvik' or last option, 'factory reset' to try to sort the boot-loop. If you werent trying to flash a rom/firmware/recovery these options should fix it. Do the first 2 wipes first.

Many thanks for Your reply Mr Mcplum. Appreciate it. I have tried the usual ways to enter into recovery with no joy. Perhaps its a timing issue on my end. I'll keep trying.
Thanks again.
Yeah, my kids' tablets, obviously, all f**ked up at some point. The bit that took the longest was getting to recoveries
And when you think you've cracked it, they decide that way wont work again
Not sure what else to try.
Is it possible it doesn't have recovery mode?
I've tried vol+/power vol-/power vol +&-/power and releasing them in all the various ways.
Its showing the btc splash screen then trying to boot into android with the logo showing and reverting back to the splash screen. I've tried releasing the buttons at different timings to no avail.
Maybe have to bite the bullet here and toss it back to china.
Poor wee fella is gutted.
Thanks again for your time buddy. Very helpful forum indeed. Every cloud I guess :laugh:
If you can replace it under warranty then do that, if its 'broken' then see if you can open it and unclip the battery, see if you can reboot it that way.
It 'may' help, it may not. But only try this if you were going to get rid of it anyway.

I could rpl under warranty for sure. I was hoping for more of a quick fix for the wee man.
So I've tried rebooting it with everything disconnected that I can.
Looks like camera/digitizer and hd? The speaker and the battery are soldered (unfortunately I don't have a bolt or solder at hand). I've tried the same sequence of buttons with different components unplugged. Still sticks in the loop that its in.
Any more ideas are welcome buddy.

have you tried running the battery flat, and see if that makes any difference when rebooting?
obviously, after giving it some power after youve ran it flat

Bricked device after latest software update

Hi,
I have recently updated my device to the latest software update and since then the device keeps restarting randomly.
I have managed to enter recovery mode, however none of the features listed. I have tried wiping data, wiping partition. Each time I selected one it would say wiping cache or wiping data and hang there until the next random reboot. The wiping task has never completed.
After this each time the device restarted it booted into recovery mode and I was unable to leave as none of the features there worked.
Then I left it on the charger overnight and now there is nothing on the screen. I tried force restarting it, then entering recovery mode and download mode without success.
The screen remain black.
When I plug the device in to the PC it shows up under the Other devices. The following image shows exactly how it shows up.

When I hold the Volume down and Power button, the device disappears momentarily then reappears which would suggest it has restarted.
Is there a way to fix this issue?

Sounds very similar to what happened to my 8 year faithfully working Nexus 7 tablet. One day I had it charging on my PlayStation and I rebooted the Nexus and it the PlayStation walked away when I came to use the tablet it wouldn't do anything (no sound either) but when plugged into a computer it was recognized. I figured I fried it so I didn't look to far into if fixing was even a possibility .
