iirc, it's a new option coming with 4.3. Is it any good? I googled it and didn't find a single result about it..
It's said "auto disable Wi-Fi when Wi-Fi Internet connection is failed". My concern is, if it did disable your Wi-Fi.. will it enable it again? Did anyone have tried it?
Thanks.

Hi everyone,
My phone's wifi module (also bluetooth) was broken and cannot be used.
It can be turned on, but does not work. and cannot be turned off then.
It reports "error" status.
Unless I restore factory setting or new flash it, no other way to fix this.
Thus, I cannot use mobile data (3g, Edge, HSDPA etc) as internet connection,
because the system would use wifi instead of mobile service if wifi is not off.
Do you know my problem from my discription?
It's some complex...
What I want is any solution from the following two:
1) How to turn off wifi? The module is broken, it reports error when I turn off it from the settings menu.
2) How to enable mobile data thouth wifi is not off?
I guess some operation from the console (command line) is needed to do this.
If I get any one solution above, I can solve my problem.
Thank you very much for reading my post.
Wish you good luck.

even if the wifi is still on you should still be able to use mobile data since the wifi cannot connect to any wifi points.
how did you break it? maybe that is messing up the mobile data part aswel stopping it from connecting

Thanks for you reply.
I almost forgot the post.
The module that controls wifi and bluetooth does not work because of I knocked down a bottle of water that aside the phone.
Now I only have to never enable wifi at any time.
Hi, my GF and I both have a SGS2, and we send files from one phone to the other quite often. We both use our home WiFi network, but sometimes it works to send a file, meaning the other phone is "found", sometimes it just doesn't find the other phone, although we are always in the same network. Enabling/disabling WiFi doesn't change anything, later it works again and then it doesn't work. We just upgraded to KF3 yesterday and tried only one time and it worked, so maybe the problem is gone but if it isn't, does anyone have a clue what may be the problem?
Are you using the Wi-fi direct option ?

If you are in the same network you can just use "send via" -> "wifi" and it should work, if not you need to establish a direct connection. both sometimes work and sometimes don't. when sending in the same network fails due to not finding the other phone, we can't find it using a wifi direct connection, either.
Hello. I want to use this phone as a WiFi router, but there's an option I have never seen on any other: the timeout. How do I disable that option, or is there any way I can enable again by command-line? If so, I can create a script to detect if the process of wifi tether is disabled and re enable back again. (I think I can do it)
Thanks!
Hello folks.
I would like to be able to use a wifi tether on my mini pro (SK17).
I am rooted on 4.0.2.A.0.58 and did install the Barnacle WiFi Tether.
If I start the program and want it to tether the log only shows "starting..." on the second and further attempts.
The first attempt (when wifi is enabled) I see on the screen (not in the log) "Disabling wifi manager" and the log shows "Waiting until WiFi is disabled".
If I check wifi, it's already disabled.
Anybody an idea what the problem might be?
Heya.
I don't think you need 3rd party applications nor root to do wifi tethering on the sk17, I don't at least. Not sure all sk17 come with this by default as some carriers may dislike it or not grant access to this menu if your phone is branded but try going to Settings -> Wireless & network settings -> Tethering & portable hotspot. You should find a menu with all you need to share your phone's internet. Setup SSID and password, etc.
Hope this helps.
OH. Thank you for the hint. Sure enough found it...
Cool Does it work or are you having trouble tethering that way too?
