HELP: Flashed ROM (AOKP Milestone2), it freezes and get stucked :( - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello. This is bothering me. I've tried searching but seems nothing helps.
Here's the scenario: (It was my 2nd attempt to flash)
I was running the touchwiz (but my phone was basically, rooted).. This paste few days, it started to hang and freeze every once in a while. Then i noticed that freezing became frequent. So i decided to flash ROM.
I used this AOKP Milestone2 because they say it is stable http://aokp.co/devices/i9300# and G-apps4.2 - Everything runs smoothly and after the reboot, the homescreen get stucked on the "welcome screen" I wasn't able to hit the "start" button. it's freezing. After a while.. It automatically shuts down.
I tried to re-flash it.
Sometimes, i was able to pass through and open playstore, then it hangs again?! I have to force power-off it to work then it happens again.
NOW..
I restored my Nand back-up (Touchwiz) hoping it'll work at least. but then after reaching the interface.. It was again freezed. T.T
I cannot use my phone now.
I was planning to do the BrickedBug checked but i cannot because i cannot access my phone.
Please, any help or enlightment or same experiences?
Thank you very much in advance! ^_^

No idea what you have flashed its not from XDA suggest you ask that site what's wrong .
But first boot to download mode what does product code say if nothing then you need a new motherboard .
In that respect read the SDS sudden death syndrome sticky and Phone Freezing sticky .

I've checked my phone through eMMC BrickBug Check and it luckily has insane chip.
eMMC chip
Type: VTU00M
Date: 08/2012
CID:15010056545530304df104c2143a8fdb
Fwrev: 0xf1
I flashed LiquidSmooth 4.3 + Gapps 4.3
Flashed TWRP to change my CWM 6.0 Custom recovery
Everything seemed okay than before. It freezes only once yet.
I read in here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2091045 and its says
Recap
..if you checked you have VTU00M 0xf1 with EMMC check , you need to ensure:
If unrooted (never rooted / modded), you are on one of the "Stock" ROMs listed above
If rooted, you have one of the "Custom Kernels" OR "Custom ROMs including kernel" OR rooted "stock" with original kernel AND one of the "Custom recoveries" from the lists below

I was always on recovery mode when flashing. Haven't tried download mode yet.

Sorry. I realized I didn't understand the question just now.
It says:

Just want to clarify

I just really want to fix the freezing and prevent SDS before it become terminal.
This is what it says in Download Mode:
Product name: GT-i9300

I've read the stickies and it says it need
A bootloader with fixes**

1. I flashed LiquidSmooth 4.3 v2.10 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2264782 + Gapps
2. From CWM 6.0.x.x i flashed TWRP (it improves a little, and now hanging and auto-shutting down again). This is the phone's info now

(Now it still freezes hangs and auto-shutdown)
What I will do now is:
3. Flash a kernel compatible with my ROM base on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2091045and
]My question is:
1. I am doubtful if the ROM and kernel i have has this SDS fix (I've read the forum on LSmooth and no clear answer) so i decide to flash a Kernel
2. Can I flash a firmware (to fix/prevent the SDS) using Odin? Is it safe or will just ruin my phone more?
3. As what i've read, it says if possible stay away from using download mode? I was just wondering about this bootloader, will I be safe if I just do not flash (if im right) this bootloader w/ fixes? (Since I do not actually use download mode?
I dont intend to be spoonfed, I was just confused. I dont want to brick the phone that'll cause much damage instead of just freezing or SDS.
Thanks

Hello. I wanted to unlock my phone so I flashed my phone Using Odin and using the insecure kernel. After that the screen quality basically went down. I flashed the galaxy s2 back to the factory mode then back to the old 3 network mode that was in. The screen still looks super bad. Please, can anyone help me with this?
When I open up my phone status. The kernel is: [email protected] #2
I'm getting a feeling that insecure kernel is not removed is it?

Simply Flashing the phone through ODIN does not unlocks your phone. To get you phone to proper state, I suggest :
1.If you still rooted, format cache/system/data from CWM recovery
2. Flash the Carrier branded firmware from Intratech thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113928
3. Root the phone using by flashing matching CF-Root Kernel from Chainfire thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399
4. Take a Nandroid back from CWM recovery in case something goes wrong
5. Install the app galaxy unlock from the market .
6. Use the app to unlock your phone.
Hope this helps!

I think I have a stock rom as you can see from the kernel picture above or is it something different?
The display settings does not work. I tried playing with them.
Maybe its just in your mind, or try fo find exactly the same firm as your old one.

You put phone into download mode and flash through Odin. There are many guides on here for directions
Here's one guide. Read the full first page
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21659039
yeah i know, many guides i have done, walked through, but nothing helps. odin flashes without problem. phone restarts and still no recovery with bootloop... flashed this and that.. and still same issues.
Flash JB leak firmware via odin (comes as 3 parts - Pda, phone and csc). Then see if it boots. If it doesn't, try to enter recovery and factort reset.
Report back what happens.

I've seen a couple of these cases happening lately, my bet is on the bootloader, eventhough I don't encourage people to try flashing it. Or, as always, OP is holding something back.
Neo, I'm not familiar with the ROM being downloaded from a non-stable internet connection and I know you get them from an internet cafe. Now, is it possible that Odin would allow (flash) a corrupted ROM?

I literally did this yesterday. After you flash stock you have to boot into 3e (stock recovery) and wipe data. This will stop the bootloop and you can carry on with rooting if that's what you want.
It's better to wipe dalvik, you need CWM for that, that's why it's always suggested to flash a custom ROM when on a bootloop.

jeah i know but whatever i flash i still have no recovery...
ok now its official. phone memory is problem, i went to service today and they told me that when i flash with odin the values that i flash dont stay in the memory, on the next boot
those values get clear, memory bug of some kind, he said that he can manual and direct approach to the motherboard and write recovery directly but he cant say if it will always
work like it is suppose to.
Hum....I think you're getting conned, as the matter of fact, he must be reading this right now.

[Q] SOFT BRICK - Reset custom binary counter

Hello!
I soft bricked my Samsung Galaxy s3 GT-I9300
I don't know how...
I tried flashing cutom roms, stock roms and kernels...nothing works
ODIN says: NAND write start!! Then it fails everytime.
So i'm looking forward to send it back to the service centre as it is supposedly still on warranty. To benefit from the warranty, the custom binary download should be "No".
My phone can still go into download mode, recovery mode is inaccessible.
In download mode it sayS:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: GT-I9300
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: Yes (5 counts)
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
Is there any way I can reset the custom binary download to "No" ?
PS: According to some videos on YouTube, USB jigs only get the phone in download mode, it does NOT reset the custom binary download counter.
Please help me, thank you.

My intel i7 has all kinds of usb sockets on it.
I don't even need a motherboard.
CPU is the processor. Computer, pc, these are what have ports. Your phone has a cpu also, is that what you mean?
It is a small point but at the same time big and important as I know many here are translating to get information.
To the OP:
1) Download the CF root for your device. Place it in the PDA section of odin and flash. Read here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695238
2) Enter recovery (volume up + home + power) and wipe things
3) Download and install a CWM compatable .zip rom, I can recommend wanam's roms http://wanamlite.com/category/devices/rom-galaxy-s3/ But I would not start with a leak!
4) When and if you get running update your recovery!
Have been in your situation. I have even lost recovery, old tv style look when I go there. It may be recoverable.
Most custom roms flash through recovery, so if you are trying to flash with odin it will fail.
Try this and let us know how it goes. Also, make it clear how it fails, ie what file went to what program to do what.
Again, most custom roms and kernels cannot be flashed with Odin, that might be the reason you are soft bricked.
Laptop/Computer ports.
Brother, First of all completely uninstall samsung kies and samsung folders from your computer, then reinstall kies. After reinstallation is completed just close kies and start ODIN and flash your cell phone with help of download mode
I faced the same problem and this helped me out, and yes.. your device is not bricked
All the best :good:

Could not awake s3 from sleep

are you running stock rom and stock recovery as well as stock kernel? did you use odin or kies ? if you use custom roms and recoveries and kernels you may have problems. you mention flashing 4.0.4 , did you try 4.1.2? you can find the latest odin flashable official firmwares at sammobile. going back to stock is probably a better option than taking the custom route. especially if the problem is hardware related . also if you need to get the phone serviced under warranty. good luck

Yes, and it needs to be done. Just go through the normal full flash for warranty process (guides for this in General) and factory reset. If it still happens, you've ruled out software /data and can only be hardware.

Unfortunately, your ship is INSANE and there is a big chance that your phone is dying slowly. It is something similar to sudden death
You should go here an apply fixes, hoping it is not too late for you, just read carefully what to do
Don't waste your time and apply fixes ASAP
Good luck

I717 revert to att stock from custom rom

I want to revert an ATT i717 rooted, with CWM ver.6, custom KK rom back to ATT stock rom (I did try KIES but it didn't recognize phone as I understand due to rom being custom.) I don't have a back up of the original stock rom. All download links I have come across are dead. Need help to locate working DL links.
2-Wifey has the same exact phone rooted with CWM ver. 6 with stock JB rom. I am wondering if I take a back up of that and flash it to my phone if that will be ok or if that's a chance for a brick?

You have posted in the development forum. Try Q&A.
Also if you can't find Odin file here, try to search google. You may find an active somewhere else. Other than that, you can wait. if I ever get off work I could probably scrounge up a copy to my dropbox.
Let me know if you find. Sorry, I won't have time until tomorrow afternoon . In middle of a work marathon on 2 jobs.

here's a link to stock jb:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8CfFE5fSiMQS1NuZVZmUnRNYVU/view?usp=sharing
it includes the rom, cwm recovery, supersu, odin, kernel, and modem.
odin the rom first, then the recovery.
copy supersu to the phone and install thru cwm.
you'll need to update binaries.
also included is the current cwm recovery i use to install kit kat roms.

once you get done installing and the phone booted up,
start supersu and follow the instructions.

Finally d/l at work, odined the rom and encountered "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue, Please select recovery mode in kies and try again"
Phone cannot enter recov. mode nor download mode. I tried kies and 2 issues came up 1 my phone has no serial number, I entered wife's S/No. (same exact phone, both made in Korea) but the second problem is that kies wants me to turn off phone, and enter d/l mode which isn't coming up.
I tried my JIG thingy but same screen comes up.
How do I fix this?
ATTN: MOD
If need be please move thread as appropriate.

Could be, really don't know for sure. Note has this screen. Anything I attempt it's resulting in the following screen below. DL mode, hit volume up and bam, same screen. Recovery, same deal, try to boot normally = same. Even a jig gets the DL mode first screen and then bam! Is there any way to fix this or Is the phone at the point of jtag repair, or worse a brick?
