Hi @all, I'm new there as user but I read this forum since a lot of time.
I've installed Unofficial JellyBean V6 by devswift on my XperiaU. I was coming from cyanogen 10.1 (always by devswift) and that's what I did:
-Wipe DalvikCache/Cache/UserData/System
-Flashed the .zip and 2 other zip for themes (taken from this board jb pack v1 and v2 but not remember the author, will check later)
-Rebooted.
... and now is not working anymore. Probably I did something wrong, but the real problem is that now I can't flash a stock firmware and try again because on win8.1 flashmode seems not working. The driver are installed correctly with advanced reboot but on flashtool (from flashtool.net, the latest one) when it ask for connect the device, the green light disappear after some seconds and it doesn't get it.
Any suggestion ?
p.s. Thanks for the awesome work that any developer is doing for that device, even if is a "low price" and not a "top" in the android smartphone market.
p.p.s. Sorry for bad english and confused post, and I hope is the right section
Look for someone with a PC or laptop with windows 7 and restore your phone with flashtool! I had this problem too with a xperia J today and I couldn't restore it on windows 8.
Enviado a través de XDA móvil desde mi Sony Xperia S
Yeah I have another laptop with Windows 7 and Mint, I'll try both, but since win8.1 is better in terms of permormance compared with 7, that's a pity that I can't update to that system definatly.
Why it don't work if it say drivers are installed correctly...
Is normal that when I launch a driver check it says:
Code:
18/007/2013 11:07:01 - INFO - List of connected devices (Device Id) :

I forgot to say that I use a 64 bit system.
can u not access cwm now still?
if so wipe everything again and reflash the rom. nothing else. let it boot

Yes I can access into CWM but I already formatted SD-Card and USB mount to copy another .zip to flash don't work.
There is another way to copy a zip files in the sdcard maybe ?

Flash stock rom
Sent from my ST25i using xda app-developers app
Please read also the previous (and longer) posts before answer.
I would know why I can't flash stock roms using flashtool on win8.1. Btw I already flashed a stock using win7 and then installed again Unoff JB. Now it restart showing kernel logo every each seconds, but doesn't boot.
Sorry for double post, but after get it working I'm not satisfied about this mod. I can't change illumation (even manually) and is a bit laggy.
Could someone suggest another JB where everything works correctly, and enough stable/smooth?
Also a CM or CM based is ok, but I not find yet a CM with bluetooth and gps working...
Mhhhhh... I found no way and I came back to win7, now someone can suggest the more stable unofficial JB or a CM where GPS works?
Should I bump the thread ?
No one answer
BTW I tried many JB and I found that the best one is this --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2484443 but the GPS and Auto Brightness is not working, how can I report that to the developer, in the development thread ?

What's the question?
If you still have windows 8.1 try installing flashtool drivers as explained here or like in this post
I already said that the driver are installed succesfully, but when I connect the phone flashtool don't recognize it.
Since no one give me a suggestion I came back to win7 to "recover" the phone. The question is this (ignore the previous since no one answered and I decided my self):

Hi
First and foremost thanks to anyone that helps - another user helped me get mine out of a bricked state so im grateful to say the least.
Where im at:
Unlocked bootloader.
Ive tried to root it using the flashtool but that give the appearance of working but doesnt. Then i found out it doesnt work on post 2011 models, which i have.
Ive also tried using the exploit using the runme.bat to install the hacked restore file - again it goes through the motions but doesnt.
Also tried to get a pre rooted firmware file on there - it says to install in fastboot using adb from command line but that just sits there saying waiting for device - if i reboot the phone and do an adb devices the phone pops up as a listed device so i know adb is working ok...no luck there...
So, ive tried every way that i can but no luck...
Information from the phone is:
ST25i
Android 4.0.4
Build: 6.1.1.b.1.54
Im reasonably practiced in reflashing phones but this one is the first xperia ive done/not done.....so far
Cheers
Comfy
I think you need to reinstall all the drivers carefully & uninstall any 3rd party app like bluestacks if u have
I m not earning money by helping you so if u think I gave my time so pls press thanx button
Nope - nothing to do with that - i got there in the end....i reflashed to this firmware...obviously after unlocking the bootloader and using the flashtool - used the 64bit version as im on win 7 x64
ST25i_6.1.1.B.1.10_O2CZ.ftf
then i used the runme.bat tool which then worked. I thought id put it in writing then anyone else who has the problem will come across this thread

Just bought PAP 5044. Fantastic phone. Anyone have any ideas for rooting this phone, installing cwm???
Use Framaroot 1.6 (Boromir exploit) for rooting. It's pretty much "one click" stuff and works like a charm. Now, as for cwm, I still haven't found the solution. I just managed to boot to the stock recovery but none of the commands are working so no use there.

Yeah framaroot works awesome. Stock recovery works too. Commands are little funny. Entering everything ith volume up, volume down is for down
Finally got CWM working. The procedure of installing is fairly simple but I had to browse through few czech and russian forums to get the recovery.img.
This procedure doesn't need PC at all. Everything is done on your phone. Just follow these few simple steps.
1. First of all, you should be rooted. If not, use Framaroot to do that (fairly simple to do and pretty much "one click" stuff)
2. Next, install MobileUncle MTK Tools (available here )
3. Now, download the attached recovery.img and transfer it to the root of your SD card.
4. Open MobileUncle and grant root permission if asked.
5. Once it is open, choose "recovery update" on the main screen.
6. You should be able to see your recovery.img first on the list. Below are some other recovery images found online but DO NOT chose those.
7. When tapped your recovery.img it will ask "use recovery file: recovery.img (5620Kb)?" - tap Yes.
8. Within seconds, it is flashed and it will ask if you want to reboot to recovery... choose Yes.
9. That's it. You have fully functional CWM
Now, if you want to backup your device in CWM please note that the backup folder may grow pretty large if you are using SD Ext (which is pretty much a must with this device) so make sure that you have enough space on your SD card before you perform backup.
P.S. browsing through the czech and russian forums, I've found couple of pretty functional ROMs (there are few MIUI ports and one Xperia C port). I'm going to test those in the next couple of days and if it works, I'll share it here.
Cheers.

Then scroll down until you see prestigio 5044 and download.
I would like to know if anyone has got some other roms for this device.

hi to all,
i just fuond this thread and i hope that someone can help me.. Pleasee!
My first post and it's already a mess.
I explain my situation shortly:
I download framaroot and installed the boromir expansion, by the way everything until i made a mess. I deliberately deleted the browser that is a core application. The result is that the phone is blocked. I didn't done anything else. Now my pc won't recognize the phone, or to be more specific is still recognized but only in recovery mode, and activating "install from adb". The pc recognizes it like an htc dream.. Thanks to adb, i've tried to install the firmware version, in hoping to come back to the stock version and undo, but the installlation is completed but the phone still not workin.
When i turn on the device it starts with boot animation logos and then SOME it's not working and the phone is blocked.
Can someone save me?
thanks to all for reading me, and losing your time. I made a mess.

Yep indeed, infact i put again imei and now it's working, but the only thing i don't know which value to set in at for second sim. It's always hard! To me is a factory problem.
I've installed the bean version instead. It's working, i love it but i don't know exactly how to install\update xposed framework and gravity box tools. When u install, it magically appears on ur sd card a folder called "xposed disabled". It's still not working.
I would like to change columns in UI system.

Dude i cant help you with everything search before posting.
Hi all,
I'm trying to install Cyanogemod on my i9100 (S2 intl). I'm quite experienced with flashing, rooting and Cyanogenmod in general as I've had it on both my Nexus 7 and my S3 for years. For the S3 I flash it via Heimdall cmd line; quite simple. For the S3, the recovery downloads as an img and just works. But for the S2, Clockworkmod's Recovery downloads as a zip, and not one of the tutorials explain how to use it. Do I flash the whole zip, just part of it or do I need to convert the zip to something else? And is kernel the correct partition to use?
The wiki guide doesn't give any help whatsoever. Everyone talks about zImage, but no where can I find what this is. There's a link on the wiki to download an img but it's broken and I can't find the image anywhere else. I think the wiki needs updating.
Drat, I can't put links in yet. I did have "wiki guide" linked.
I also posted my question to the Cyanogenmod forums, and they replied more quickly. This surprised me a bit; I may be a new account, but I've been a huge fan of XDA-Developers for a long time, and I was expecting a super quick answer. Maybe I posted in the wrong section for this, haha
For future reference, and to provide an answer for this question (and for ways around simple problems after that too):
forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/96781-how-to-flash-latest-cwm-recovery-via-heimdall/
Turns out I was using the wrong kind of file for flashing via Heimdall. So glad my S3 was easier than this to flash Cyanogenmod.
So problem solved Any questions, I would be happy to elaborate.
1) This phone was released over 3 yrs ago, the S2 forums simply don't see the traffic they saw even 12 mths ago; 9 hrs is nothing.
2) Also, very very few people here use Heimdall as most are running Windoze machines. On Windoze you use Odin, there's no need to complicate things by attempting to use Heimdall.
So that's why you ended up with the first world 'problem' of not getting a response after 9 hrs.
You can elaborate on exactly what you did if you want; you never know, someone might come here one day & actually search for info rather than posting a thread purely because they can and expecting an immediate response.

I guess so. I hope you didn't think I was being too serious; I was only joking that I expected a reply that quickly Some areas of this site, people often reply in minutes, that's all

Really? I'm using Windows and I've never had any problems with Heimdall. In fact, I found Odin to be buggy and confusing. Heimdall seems far better (it's not leaked software, for a start), and I like the cmd-line interface.

I can't tell if you're annoyed that I didn't search or if you're joking. In fact I did search but couldn't find any information. And I wasn't going to elaborate here because all this info is in the Cyanogenmod forum thread, but if you insist:
1) Begin by reading the instructions on the wiki page: wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_i9100
1-a) This means READ THE WARNINGS
2) When it tells you to download the recovery, ignore - the link is broken. Download from here: forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/orig-development/kernel-clockworkmod-recovery-6-0-2-9-t1118693
3) Extract the zImage file from inside and continue with the wiki instructions
4) When it tells you to click replace driver (which, btw, is badly worded - you must select "Install Driver" from the drop-down and it'll turn into "Replace Driver"), use the up-down arrows next to WinUSB to select libusbK. Otherwise you may get errors with Heimdall
5) After flashing the first CWM recovery, if you want to flash CM11, download the newer CWM from here: forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development-derivatives/cwm-clockworkmod-recovery-kit-kat-4-4-t2628412
5-a) Start your S2 into Recovery and connect it via USB. On your PC, open a cmd and check that your device is showing up properly (adb devices). It it's not, download and install the Samsung USB drivers from here forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2038555 or here forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2038555 (or Google it - they're everywhere)
5-b) Use "adb push [recovery-zip-name-here] /emmc"
5-c) On your S2, find and flash the new recovery zip, then reboot into recovery again. You'll now be using the newer CM11-compatible CWM recovery
5-d) Now the device will no longer show up in ADB, even with the drivers installed (if it does for some reason, you can ignore this step). Open Device Manager on your PC and find either something called "i9100" or "Unknown Device" (of which there may be many on some computers - you'll have to work out which). Right-click > update driver software > browse my computer > let me pick > have disk.
5-e) Browse to the file and click ok "SAMSUNG\USB Drivers\16_Shrewsbury\ssadadb2.inf". This folder is normally in Program Files (not x86)
5-f) Continue by clicking next or whatever it is (I forget) to finish the installation of the driver. Test that it was successful (after it's finished) by doing "adb devices" again
6) If you're using the older CWM recovery: Use "adb push [cm<11-zip-name-here] /emmc" and flash it via the recovery
7) If you're using the newer CWM recovery: Use "adb push [cm11-zip-name-here] /storage/sdcard0" and flash via recovery
8) Push the correct gaps package (if using CM11, remember the warnings on the wiki - get the one that's small enough to fit on the S2's system partition) and flash it
9) At this point, you should be safe to wipe the cache and do a factory/data reset. I didn't (not immediately - I did a little later on), and just booted up, and it worked fine, but you'll probably want to do it at some point anyway to get rid of the crapps that are probably still on your S2 and it wipes all your data and settings, so best to do it now
10) Reboot an enjoy a freshly CM'd device! Remember that the first boot can take 5-10 mins. I'm currently using cm-11-20140609-SNAPSHOT-M7-i9100.zip, and so far it's been very stable, fast and reliable, only I've had issues trying to connect to the wifi. As there was a new snapshot released yesterday, I'm going to be updating to cm-11-20140708-SNAPSHOT-M8-i9100.zip shortly
There. It's not a complete beginner's guide, but it may help someone who's having problems with their S2 and Cyanogenmod. Hopefully this will show I don't expect anyone here to do all my work for me or to be at my beck and call; I should rarely be taken too seriously, and while I was genuinely surprised that no one replied faster, it was entirely a happy, curious surprise, not in any way an annoyed or unhappy surprise. Kinda feel like I got off to a bad start with that post
If anyone has any specific questions, I'll be happy to elaborate
Very good! Thanks!

don't use flashtool for unblocking BL (cause you can use instruction from Sony's site), or install drivers properly: look for dpinst.exe in your temp folder and set compability mode with WinVista in it's properties and it will install properly.

Thanks for your reply/suggestion. Unfortunately I do not have the "set compatibility" option in DPInst.exe properties. I have found 2 x dpinst.exe and 2 x dpinst64.exe files on my system.

1. When i attch the tablet to my laptop in Fastboot mode (Vol up), and type "fastboot devices" at the cmd prompt, i dont get any indication that my tablet has been/is recognised (see scrrenshot 1)
2. When I run the unlock command using the unlock code obtained from Sony, command line sticks at "waiting for device" (screenshot 2)
i'm at a loss as to whats wrong \ what Im doing wrong

Check that your tablet's fastboot drivers are installed correctly in device manager on windows. I haven't done this on the tablet z (yet), but if you do not have the drivers installed on a nexus you wont see any device in the fastboot devices option.
So i would suggest you download the correct drivers (preferably from sony, but google drivers might also work), and check that the device manager dont have any unknown devices (tablet z) and if you do not try reinstalling the driver by uninstalling the current one and getting the correct one from sony or the google drivers.

Thanks - you were right, it was drivers. Finally managed (I think) to unlock bootloader.........but am now stuck in a bootloop .
Any suggestions welcomesed
Use flashtool and simply flash any stock version on top.
Alternatively, you can use some non stock ROM, but for that your first need to install the custom recovery via fastboot.

If your stuck in a bootloop i would suggest trying and flash recovery through flashtools and see if you can clear dalvik cache in the custom recovery.
it might help.
but otherwise do as the others say and flash a custom rom (CM preferably).
Lost Root after installing CN12 Nightly (Lollipop 5.0x)

hanks for you help.
I have rooted and unlocked the boot loader of my SGP321 (WiFi/LTE).
But every time I install CM12 (flashed zip via TWRP), I lose Root......and as far as I can see, there's no way back from that, bar a complete re-install of stock (KK444)
Really frustrated as have wanted to flash CM and get rid of the Sonly bloatware (example: of 2gb internal memory, the stock firmware leaves only c.500mb free....thats just plain ridiculous. Compared to CM12 which leaves 1.7 GIGS free.
any suggestions.......?

CM12 should have root built in, check developer options for it on your device.
If not then just flash SuperSU.zip from chainfire (i prefer chainfire's version of super user).
Chainfire's SuperSU is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053
please note that i have not tested this on a Tab Z but it should work.

Thanks for the speedy reply. Really appreciated. I've gone intp developer options.....but what am i looking for?
[EDIT] In Developer Options, and under "Root Access" it says "Disabled"
[EDIT 2] Downloaded a RootChecker and it tells me I'm not rooted
I'm totally frustrated.....have been trying to install CM12 for the last 6 hours!!!!
NUT (duallockedrecovery) has done a fantastic job developing the xzdr.........but i have to say that, in common with a lot of devs.... not very good at writing nstructions.
I'm an IT manager and often train staff in systems etc, including writing user guides. When writing guides/instructions, I ALWAYS assume that the end user KNOWS NOTHING......and so the guides/etc are very detailed. Yes, it takes a while to write them, but feedback shows its the right track to take.
Almost all the articles on flashing CM12/using Fastboot etc lack small, but important, details......!!! I'm still not really sure if i should be using TabZ-lockeddualrecovery or XZ-lockeddualrecovery..........!!!!!!
i've got as far as I have by pulling together numerous XDA posts in order to get a (full'ish) picture of what to do. Devs, pls make your instructions clearer for people who aren't devs. Rant over
My current position is that my Xperia Tablet Z is
1. On KitKat 444 (Firmware ver. 283)
2. Rooted
3. Bootloader unlocked
4. SuperSU & SuperSu Pro installed
How do i get from this position to a successful CM12 install?
I have CM12 Nightly (7th May), GApps 5.0x Minimal ready and waiting....
I'm not a stupid person, but trying to do this has made me feel like a complete idiot.....help!!!

Yea i know what you mean by guides not being written to include alot of details and missing out on small stuff that might be important, but anyway.
In the Developer Options there should be a box called Root Access, and it should be defaulted to Disabled ones you have installed CM12 for the first time, its just a matter of enabling this.
Im guessing you already know how to enable Developer Options, but if you dont here is how:
Go to About Device (or Phone/Tablet) and click on Build number a bunch of times (i think its 5-6 times), and the developer options should be visible in the settings.
If that dosent work you might want to try and flash the SuperSU binary through recovery, the zip to use is the one found in chainfires xda-thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053
But here is the direct link for the zip https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
Just put that on your device internal memory (or SD-Card) and flash it in your recovery of choice, it should work in CWM, TWRP and Odin (but you dont have a samsung so the last one dosent matter).
This should install the SuperSU app, and its basic su binary onto your CM12 rom.
In both cases i would recommend you install root checker (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joeykrim.rootcheck) and see if root is available to you.
Also to note is that the Root Access option built into CM12 isnt that customizable and i would still recomend you install SuperSU, but if the Root Access option is working you can just download the SuperSU application from the play store and let it install SU binary and then you can disable CM12's built in root option ones you make sure the SuperSU was installed correctly.
Thanks so much for your help/patience......but i'm afraid im giving up (for now).
Will try again in a few days......so its back to rooted stock 444
By the way, why have CM decided to go with their own (as good as useless) recovery????
I forgot to say that you've helped fill in a few more gaps for me in respect of this i.e. flashing SU; changing Root Access in Dev. Options etc.
These are the things that all the articles ive read FAILED to mention.
Thanks so much

No problem, if you have any other questions just tell me and i might be able to help you
I have also been in the dark about this stuff before, and im still not used to other manufacturers style of rooting and unlocking the bootloader (sony is the next best after Nexus) since samsung and the others usually you have a harder time unlocking and rooting.
But good luck if you try it again :victory:
Hi all,
as you may know Nubia released a beta Android 5 version for the Z7Mini a few days ago.
cuoco92 already did his modification to this rom
his tutorial how to flash (because it is not CWM available) is here : https://www.dropbox.com/s/k17nv61auw3mig5/Guida_by_BB72_Android_L_Z7Mini-EN.pdf?dl=0
the rom is here :
https://yadi.sk/d/Kv5pd9RXfbhYU
the flashing tool for windows is here :
https://yadi.sk/d/sDX760x8faeFb
I didn't tried this rom, as the download speed from yadi.sk is almost as slow as chinese site :/
but if someone would be nice to provide a mirror I would be glad to test it
ps: as far as i understood, the Nubia Android 5 does a repartitionning, so BACKUP all data somewhere safe (sd card for ex) because it may be possible that ALL data get lost

It is true, all data WILL be lost. It is also strongly recommended that after you back up to your sd card (or computer) that you remove your sd card and sim card before doing the update. There have been some instances of people on the Chinese bbs that did not remove them and both sd card and sim got corrupted and needed to be replaced.
I managed to create an account on this russian service and now the speed was no more slow..
I tried to follow the tutorial, but unfortunately, the stupid chinese windows tool does not turn green
i have adb and fastboot working on windows
i have some adb drivers installed (i first through it is comming from there, so i installed other adb drivers but no result at all)
I also installed a 1.82 rom (found on needrom, it is 1.8 without some chinese apps and prerooted) first, but this also didn't change anything
so my two last guesses :
1: i need to install a stock 1.82 rom ... need to find a link :/
2: need to install stock recovery ? but this is marked as optional so ... don't know why i should do this
EDIT: ok i needed a stock rom and to install the adb driver that is on it virtual CD (the one that appears the first time you put the phone on usb )
Can you please reupload this rom to some more reasonable site? Waiting 27 hours is too long and its impossible for me to regiter there, I tried....
sorry can't upload this right now (it would be nearly 1 GB file to include all stuff (cuoco92 700Mb rom, + TWRP as the preinstalled version was not preinstalled on my mobile, + setup tool + pdf document)
i was not able to register on yandex website, but with the mobile app there where no russian caracters or errors ...
even if i was not hot installing this kind of stuff on my mobile

Hi!
I´m having troubles with cuoco´s Lollipop (Rom Z7.NX507J.2.65)
As soon as the phone goes to lockscreen for more then 10 seconds it crashes and I have to reboot the phone, is there any fix or will I have to downgrade it to kitkat again?

I've been using Cuoco's rom now for well over a week without issues? Perhaps it was a bad install & you may need to reinstall is all I can suggest? I first installed the Nubia stock rom & then Cuoco's. Not sure if this made a difference however all has been good. Overall I'm quite impressed, not really any noticeable bugs (for me) & his mod's have tidied up a few things

I used that rom from Needrom (Pre-rooted 1.82. It was stock with bloatware removed only) as I was on CM12 & I was able to then install the Nubia Lollipop over the top. I think it was more to do with having the correct drivers installed & a version of 1.82. The recovery didn't matter as I still had TWRP before the update. I then installed Cuoco's over the top of that without any issues.
