will unlocking the bootloader miss the x reality? - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

omg......
today i used the gallary to view photoes, and i turned on and off x reality to find out what is the deffierence, but there is no deffierence.
then i realized that you will miss be2 if you unlock the bootloader.
so if i lose x reality too?

Yes, you miss X-Reality after unlocking bootloader. I backup ta before unlocking and I can restore it after locking bootloader again and X-Reality will be working.
Read this.

will rooting also cause delete of x reality

[Go[need help regarding unlocking bootloader

I've heard that unlocking using Sony's method gives a bootloop. So we should use flashtool for unlocking the bootloader.
And the important thing, to use bravia engine even after unlocking bootloader that is not losing drm keys.
I read somewhere in xda that by making a ta backup, we can use bravia engine after relocking bootloader.
So I want to ask you all does there exist a chance of bricking my device forever while unlocking bootloader?
If so please give me some suggestions to avoid that!
If you can give me some tips while unlocking, it will be nice...
Btw I wanna flash cm11 in my xperia go

relocking the bootloader????

I have unlocked the bootloader and now i found that there are ways to root to root phone without unlocking the bootloader is it possible to relock the bootloader without losing any phone capabilities.
If you've already unlocked there's absolutely no point in relocking it, you get more freedom and benefit more from an unlocked bootloader eg custom kernels and roms
i just want to know what is the way and suppose i want to give them for warranty repair so i should be prepared lol

If you used TA backup after rooting and BEFORE unlocking, you can return the phone to a fully LOCKED state as if you had never unlocked it.
If you didn't do a TA backup, you can only relock it and thus the reseller/repair centre know what you did.
i never made any TA backup it wasn't available that time there was no root that time without unlocking it.

Then you can't return to completely stock. The relocked notice will give you away.

Look at Xperiafirmware.com -> "Sony XPERIA Z2 D6503 - Android 4.4.2 - firmware 17.1.2.A.0.314". There is a solution to re-lock the bootloader.

Unlocked vs Locked

I'm going to buy a phone but there are two choices whether it's unlocked or locked. Which one is better? I see that unlocked smartphone are cheaper rather than locked one. Can you help me with the comparison between this two and it advantages and disadvantages? If possible, can you recommend me which one is better..Thank you
unlocked phone (z2) has no warranty, has no DRM keys which are responsible for e.g. X-Reality or removing noises in camera.
Better is to buy locked phone and before rooting make a DRM Keys backup
By unlocked or locked, do you mean that it is carrier locked or that it has it's bootloader locked?
If you are talking about carrier lock, then by all means, you want to buy an unlocked phone.
If you are talking about bootloader lock, then you most likely want to go for a locked phone, that way, you can use things such as warranty, should you need it.
Hope this helps

How much unlocked bootloader affects on camera quality?

Hi everyone. I really wan't to root but I can't help wondering how much losing the DRM keys will affect on camera. Could someone who has root post pictures how's the camera quality after unlocking the bootloader? Maybe before and after pics? Or should I wait until someone finds out root method without unlocking the bootloader?
I mean no affect to phone functions. I have unlocked bootloader more than month and all problems after unlocking bootloader what have Z series, here isnt. It only delete drm keys. Camera quality is normal, trackid app working, working everything.
Only i read myXperia app can hard brick phone when is activated and unlocked bootloader, im not tested it, and i dont want to test it in future.... I easily uninstalled myXperia

I'm in the process of going back to stock, I have lost camera quality and also my loud speaker is not the same as before root. I only hope going back to stock will restore normal functionality
Losing DRM keys will affect lowlight situations. I'm just wondering how much of an impact it'll have on the quality. That's why I'm asking if someone has comparison pictures.
Going back won't restore camera quality. Once you lose DRM keys, they're gone. We should have root method that doesn't require unlocking bootloader. This way you can do TA Backup and keep the keys.

I think you can do that with rootkitxperia, but u have to be with .128 firmware
Sent from my E2303 using Tapatalk
I'm with .147 currently. Is there way to downgrade without unlocking bootloader?
Btw my M4 is E2333, should it still work?
Yes you can easily install any firmware using flashtool. It has xperifirm integrated in it so you can download .128 firmware with it and flash it with flashtool.
I want install a rom on My XPERIA T, but will loss the quality of camera on my phone after the unlock?

Relocked bootloader

It's possible to relock bootloader for Xperia X F5122 after unlock?
You can. But there's no way to recover DRM keys for now.

There's no way to recover your drm keys at all ever, one of the reasons I'm waiting off unlocking my xa bootloader no ta back up

Relocked and Camera NOT Working... - Unlock, and it works.
Hi everyone, i have unlocked my Xperia X f5122 34.0.A.2.292 bootloader (Sadly)
after unlocking i noticed some functions like X-Reality not working anymore on my device...
i wanted to relock it again using flashtool, and i did it easily
but after relock camera will not work (camera app hangs when i press button or touch) - third party apps not working too.
when i unlock it again, i get camera working...
is there any way to relock bootloader and make camera work like when device is unlocked?
(sorry for bad english)

Don't know how to fix it but you could just flash this kernel:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-x/development/root-xperia-x-34-0-2-292-modified-t3449708
All functions like x-reality will work with this kernel
Relock then FLash? hmmm

Problably not, you've unlocked your bootloader so your TA-partition is whiped meaning you lost your DRM keys. You can not get them back anymore. So without a kernel with DRM-fix you wont get functions like x-reality back. So just keep your bootloader unlocked and use a custom kernel with DRM-fix and you'll be fine.

Got a question, hope you can help me.
How close is that DRM-fix to the original DRM keys in terms of quality?

Is it possible to make the "bootloader is unlocked" message when booting up disappear?
No, only by relocking your bootloader.

Isn't Xperia XA came out on Android 6.01 ? if that so then you can use DirtyCow script to extract drm keys / TA.img.

you can block the bootlader now in android 8 and the camera is work
Hello: Someone can tell me if after opening it, the booloader can be blocked again. I have the DRM keys. I tried to do it by Flash Tool, but when I turn on the phone it always asks me for the android key and I do not know what it is.
Thank you.
I answer: Easy with oreo. An ftf of oreo is installed by flashtool and the mobile starts, we accept debug usb and developer mode. The mobile is turned off and reconnected to flashtool, given to the blu and relock option. When finished, disconnect the mobile and turn it on. Ask for Android key, well, it turns off and connects to xperia companion. The repair firmware option is given and the instructions are followed and when finished we have repaired oreo and the bootloader as before unlocking it.
Kisses, applause and thanks to all those who have helped me with the comments.
