Hello community. Like in topic, I am searching for best game performance rom out here.
When i got first SGS there was something like GamerzRom wich had best performance of all roms.
On SGS 3 i tried many ROMS and kernels(including siyah and others) even oc up to 1.8ghz is not making much of diffrence.
Games like asphalt 7, 8 or real racing 2, 3, Despicable Me, even 2d games can lag. Tried warious fixes, workarounds. Nothing works for me.
So, I ask you to help me, dear community. Don't fail me here

What rom would give the best preformance when running games like angry birds rio ?
Don't really think any ROM would provide better performance as the hero is pretty slow even when overclocked it is still somewhat slow by comparison to other phones.
But i am pretty sure i saw a copy of angry birds v1.x that will work on a hero with out lag or poor performance. Just cant remember the name of the topic but it is in the hero forum somewhere.
Here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=908329 . It's not totally without lag, but it's without doubt playable Some people think the SalsaSense rom is good for gaming. I don't know, that rom's nothing for me, but may actually think the Floyo 1.4 is best
Hey guys
This question is mainly aimed at gaming freaks who have also switched to custom roms.
Just wanna know how is the gaming performance (generally 3d games) on various roms like Resurrection remix, ics slim ,cm9, miui etc..
I saw in various threads that many 3d games lag more on such roms (at stock cpu/gpu settings)? Is it true? Coz if it is, then this is totally a deal buster for me..i was excited to flash RR but if games are lagging...there wont be any use of improved system performance lol on a custom rom
anyway guys do let me know the gaming problems with any of the popular roms..so i can make up my mind and finally flash a custom rom..
thanks

i am on latest version of ressurection remix and i fell no such problem.i use no tweaking like overclocking etc...{i hate all these things}}
Cm9/aokp I get the best graphics performance. I actually under clock my CPU for a longer battery life... and its just still as good if not better than stock.

Games like Dead trigger, NOVA 3, shadowgun, Modern Combat 3 - lots of framerate issues on ICS custom rom. I never had issues on GB and never stayed on samsung ICS long enough to find out what that was like. Mundane tasks showed that it sucked balls, so I seriously doubt that it would be any different with intensive tasks like gaming.
I'd venture a guess that CM9 kernel is probably better than the majority of ICS kernels. My experience is that it just works alot better in general - other kernels have a lot of bells and wistles but other than some cool novelty feature, really aren't very different from each other. CM9's kernel really stands out for me. I have however heard good things about Fluxi kernel. I made the switch but it was much worse unfortunately others may have a different experience though.
The lag spikes seem to be random aswell, so I have my doubts any overclocking would help. If it happened in sequences with big open fields and lots of enemies on screen I'd understand, but when you are in a small corrider with no-one around, I can't think of why it should do it then. Not to mention it was seemless on stock GB (actually Villian ROM 3.0 and Redpill kernel).
But I've got CM9 running exactly how I want it and its stock CM9 kernel is actually pretty good, the games are good to play on it, but you do get annoying lag spikes somewhat frequently.
Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour is on the horizon. I'm really hoping the galaxy player can handle it as modern combat I think is the best game from Game loft. What are your thoughts on MC4 and it running on the player?

Really???
Do you consider this a developmental topic to be placed here?
Not to be rude but I think you posted this in the wrong section...
eek:OOOPS! I'm too used to posting in the dev section. If one of the admins would move it I would be truly grateful.

Agreed, a mod needs to place this in the General section.
On topic: Games work on the Samsung Galaxy Player? While I joke a bit, I am serious at the same time. The only games I have been able to run on the Samsung Galaxy Player are the Rovio games (angry birds, alex) and Sonic CD aka 2d games. Games I use to play on Android that were my favorite were Dead Space, Mass Effect Infiltrator, Need For Speed Hot Pursuit, and numerous other richly graphical games just run out of memory, freeze, crash, or reboot the device. This could be because almost every custom rom breaks games in general on the Galaxy Players - I'm on the Ethereal Rom only to have better battery life.
I'm only holding out because I don't want to set up everything again and await the ICS rom/kernal us 4.0 users have been patiently waiting for.
Stock rom btw has everything working because I played them before rooting - especially the games I mentioned above. If anything, if the ICS rom/kernal doesn't meet my expectations - I'll revert back to stock and stay there with a custom Launcher like Go or Holo, only to keep root and use Klin R3 or Terrasilent for kernal to have Voodoo.
So imo, if you have a custom rom on your device, don't count on MC4 to work... MC3 doesn't...
Yes. I do find that (no offence devs) that my performance has dropped a bit on the gaming side of things. However Asphalt 7 runs real nice and before I switched to Remics-UX Nova 3 was smooth as well. However Modern Combat 3 dosn't start at all anymore. But it wasn't the smoothest of all games. It only ran smooth on 2.3. MC4 Looks only a little better graphicsso it might run but I have that gut feeling. I sometimes think "why don't I switch back to 2.3"? And it's hard not to.

Technically this isn't the note forum but are you running a custom ROM?
I succeeded it running on Nebula ICS, It walks fine but when in some conflict area, it is so laggy. I think trying it with linrom would be good.

Hi
I use a lot of AOSP/AOKP roms with custom kernels. I always OC CPU ang GPU but I can't feel a good performance in games. For example I can't play Asphalt 7. I have about 30 fps or less.
I tested a lot of kernels but always get the same (or similar) results.
But when I look at benchmark score for Sammy rom I am confused. I know it's only benchmark but there a huge difference.
I don't have time to test this roms, so maybe someone can help me.
Are sammy roms better for games? Or it's only difference in benchmark?
AOSP is better in games.
Hello.
i am using my galaxy tab lately, but noticed it had unbelivably slow performance in games like modern combat 3, asphalt 7, and even Sonic 4 Episode 2 and BIT TRIP BEAT, and shown many apps in the playstore as being incompatible. after testing lots of roms, i decided to put a jellybean 4.1.2 rom on it and overclock. although more apps are shown as compatible with it, the device still performs poorly in a lot of 2d and 3d games. tried to live with it, but when i saw that the official (physical) samsung keyboard that i got it with it (connects through charging port) which was recognised by stock hc and ics is now recognised by it as a timer (wtf), i decided i must find a better rom. been looking for weeks by now. i will appreciate any suggestion from you to a fast performing, battery efficient and highly compatible rom and kernel combination that i could use on my device that you have tested and can recommend.
Thank you, E.
I like both the aokp and cm10 4.2 jb roms.
It could be some of the games you are playing, not all developers try hard. Nfs most wanted has amazing graphics and plays great, I have had other games with Nintendo graphics that don't run smooth.
