Hi,
I know this is the most common topic here (kinda), but none helped me.
I own an Android 2.3.4 Build GRJ22
It is Qmobile A5, google it... cant post the link
Now the problem, I tried to root it with SuperOneClick Root at least 10 times but the app hangs (for an hr) then I had to force Close it.
I tried to find every where but it did not seem to help. Hoping to find some answers here.
I have rooted many phones before including HTC, Motorola and Huwaie, but mine one seems to work on it. even z4root froze and force close dialog appeared.
My PC Specs:
P4 3GHz HT
3.5 GB RAM DDR2
Windows 7 Professional x64
Phone Specs
MT6573 650 MHz Processor
213MB RAM
Android version : 2.3.4 GRJ22; Release Codename : REL; API LEVEL : 10;

Um, No offense bro... but the reason i posted a new thread was that I want unable to find about it anywhere...
its a Chinese phone... probably a Nexus S clone... with a 0.25 inch smaller screen... a chinese processor and lesser ram...

Im Trying to make my own ROM to root this damn fone... so up till now my so so ubuntu knowledge is coming in handy....
I have done a dump but i dont have its Firmware and Bootloader files... Any suggestion on how to do that...

You should probably list the phone name in title instead of the Android version because the phone is what will determine your root method.

Are you serious? This forum is full of real helpful people. How dare you say we are not helpful. You must be new here because you clearly don't know that most of us are developers and develope the s&:# that you use to root your phone. You are not the only with a question, there are probably 15 people waiting patiently (unlike you) for an answer to the questions they have.

I am also planning to buy this phone in a day or two but Only if I am able to modify the Ultra Small Internal memory, rest all this phone is good in Rs.6100 INR.

if he wanted to help he should have posted the procedure here itself.
He's wanting to be contacted on facebook which is spoiling the fun of being at XDA.
There's no other way to work on the memory issue without first rooting the device.
I currently don't own this device but I am interested in buying if its rootable and Internal memory can be symlinked.
Edit: any advanced user may lookinto possibilities of Rooting N400 by using this method and post back if it works.
Do not try this if you are not sure what it does.
please tell me how it will root,,,,,,,i tried almost every method.

em going to share the working method to root lava N 400 this is my modified tool to root lava n400 but once you root you can't unroot so after root just make the backup of your rom ...you just need ADB driver on your computer
1} extract
2} increase your sleep time
3} connect your phone in media transfer mode
3} follow the instruction and choose 1 option
4}on your phone select RESTORE MY DATA wait to reboot
5}if you see super usrer on your phone you are successfully ROOTED

you are wrong my friend i want to help...but just want to confirm that its a working method sir coz i don't want any of them out there or you BRICKED your phone + em bzy in find out the way to BACKUP my rooted ROM coz there is no way come back after root you can't unroot and for your safety back up your rom after root

I am sorry I didn't meant to hurt you in anyway,
With the Lava phones giving good competition to Micromax and other low cost Brands, its eagerness of existing users to get root access
and modify the system as per their taste.

The Tool you linked is already on XDA Forums, Maybe no one tried it before.
Main Thread is Here for this Rooting Tool, Anyone can download file and confirm Back if this works for them.
I'll post in that thread to let more Lava Users find this helpful information.

There isnt a MT6572 that I have ever heard of, try using the MTK Droid Tools from this link and it will tell you what your actual processor is.

Also, if it is indeed a MT6577 I would say try using Motochopper, it works on a few other MT6577 devices. Then if it doesnt work try this chinese root program, I have had pretty good success with it on a number of chinese devices:

If neither of those quick one click root methods work look at post #5 from first link for directions on how to port CWM recovery to your device using MTK Droid Tools and SP Flash Tool.

This method? It was posted back in Feb of this year by the guy that made the MTK Droid Tools, it has been on XDA for quite a while. Be sure to thank Rua1 if you use his tool and method! Same directions you posted Rua1 has in post #5 of the thread linked below. I just want to make sure credit is given where it is due, all of us with MTK devices would be stuck without Rua1's tool!!!

MTKDroidTools still don't fully support 6572, there are some attempts on china-iphone.ru, but looks like ROMs for 6572 have differences from 6577/6589

If the chinese root tool I posted above dont work, try installing SRT Appscanner on your device, if either of the exploits says vulnerable, then you might be able to use this (If it says success then you would just need to install SuperSU and update su binary for root access):

I somehow wanna root my phone without bricking it.Need all step-by-step instructions guys. m sorry to post in your thread but need some help here, since we are on the same topic felt appropriate to post here. Any help is much appreciated. If it's possible to install clockworkmod recovery. Do share that too.

Lava Iris 402 Root
Framaroot works for Lava Iris 402. Do create backups before and after installing root. Search for options to create backup before rooting so that it can be restored to claim warranty in case of any hardware issues.

I checked out on net that Canvas HD has been rolled out an official update of android 4.2.1.
So I tried to install this update. I done everything for that but my devece is unable to be found in my laptop. Although I am trying to connect it by removing battery, Sim, and sd card, It doesn't give any result to me. HELP!

The problem is with the drivers installed...as far as i remember there is a separate post explaining how to fix it...will search for it n reply back

Hmmm... Try with MobileUncle Tool.
I did not tested too mutch this firmware
I am waiting for weekend when my phone is put in : TESTING FIRMWARE MODE
Because of so mutch firmware testing, i think one of this days my phone will leave me and go back to China.

It has to be flashed through twrp only.just forma t cahce,dalvik,system,data before installation
