[Q] My phone is broken need help! - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
Just to start of ill just say im norwegian so my english is not the best, but I hope you guys understands it!
Ok, I wake up this morning to check my phone, when i took it up it was just a picture of the loading screen with "Samsung Galaxy SIII GT I9100" or something like that in white text...
I tried to turn it off and then turn it back on again but the same message appeared. Then I started to search on google etc and found out that this is called sudden death? I went into download mode but nothing is happening, it only says this:
ODIN NAME
PRODUCT NAME:
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: NO
CURRENT BINARY: SAMSUNG OFFICIAL
SYSTEM STATUS: CUSTOM
"
Then there is picture of an android with the text: "Downloading... Do not turn of target !!"
I searched some more and found out that when system status is custom it's roted? I dont even know what this is but it said i got no warranty? Im pretty sure the guy I bought it from gave all the papers to me? Im so confused...
And I tried to enter recovery mode but it wont let me :/
Step 4 step would be good as im a totall noob!
Thank you for your time

Looks like you need a new motherboard .
Read the sudden death syndrome post in faqs and guides.
Or just take to a service centre for repair if you are a noob .

Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Yep, you're truly unique
Why not start with telling us your exact product and what happens when trying to get into both recovery and download modes.
my device is I9100 middle east version
it says when i remove the battery MODEL: GT-I9100G
problem description:
I turned on the device as soon as i bought it and it said 2.3.4
so I downloaded everything needed to root it and i started odien and everything went well....except for the fact that my galaxy got stuck with galaxy s logo screen and big yellow triangle at the bottom....and nothing else happen.... it says like this for hours and hours....

You need to download files to use for your specific phone and try again. You said you have a GT-I9100G, right? Well, where did you get the files you used to root?
You also said in the title of this post that you installed XXKI3. Well, installing XXKI3 and rooting are not the same thing. Which did you do? Root using an insecure kernel? Or install an XXKI3 firmware?
I'm going to go ahead and guess that you tried to flash a firmware intended for the regular GT-I9100, and not the GT-I9100G. These two phones have different hardware, so firmwares are NOT compatible.
Amirite?
first I tried to root it using insecure kernel...when it got stuck with galaxy s 2 logo screen with yellow triangle.... I searched all over the net for a solution and one of the solutions was is to flash xxki3 ....and I did that.... but it always fail.... I also tried to flash litening rom... but at the end...it fails at MODEM stage i believe....
Now all i want is to get my phone working....I dont wanna root it anymore....
please guys please help me
Stop flashing it.
You are doing more damage.
You have the 9100G, but you're flashing 9100 stuff
I am not flashing it anymore.... but I need a solution.... I want to know how can I get it back up and running
please help me
guys i found a 2.3.6 for my GT-i9100G
but still gives me fail red color in odien
please help me

Soft briked or hard briked

Hi all.
I have already posted my problem in this thread which I have read to the end ( [GUIDE] Fix an unflashable or soft bricked I9100G )
but was not able to get any solution so I'm starting a new thread hopefully someone might be able to help me and sorry if I was not suppose to start a new thread.
My problem is as follows and hope that someone can help.
I have downloaded odin mobile and installed it on my S2 I9100 G which previously had CM 10 installed on it and I wanted to flash the official firmware using Odin mobile. I did run it and then the phone prompted me for M5 or Md5 that was detected and should click yes to verify before flashing. I clicked yes then it started verifying and when it was done it rebooted and then was stuck on the (Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-19100G black screen) and did not want to move. I waited for an hour and a half and nothing happened. When I removed the battery (I could not reset or do anything else) and put it back, the phone turned on by itself and stayed still on the starting screen (Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-19100G black screen)
Now I'm not being able to put it in recovery nor download mode.
Can any one help and anyone knows if the jtag dongle can actually force it to go to download mode even at this stage
Thanks in advance for any suggestion
Ok thank you guys. I think I was able to fix it and revive my phone.
go to service centre they solve your problem

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S3 BRICKED

I tried to root my S3 (i9300) that I just bought from a friend with a custom ROM and it got bricked. After following most of the guides from similar threds, I was able to make the boot screen appear but now it won't get past that!!!
it shows an error at the top left conner in green color reading as follow: jump kernel
can anyone kindly advise me or guide me to how I can make the phone work again?
If it had a custom rom then it was already rooted. Follow the guide in general forum to flash back to stock rom via odin on your pc. If you can access download mode (from off hold volume down, home then power button until the Samsung logo appears) then thus should work.
Make sure you read and fully understand what you are doing otherwise you'll end up with a full brick.

Sudden Death Syndrome.
when you go into download mode look for product name . if there is no product name than most likely only a motherboard replacement can fix it . probably a nand problem. if the flash counter is 0 and there is no custom binary , current and system status official. you can probably get a warranty repair through samsung.
If the product name is there than you may be able to restore your phone by flashing an emergency rescue firmware from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30087735&postcount=6.

I'm sorry if I have posted in the wrong section but I'm trying to fix a friends phone and no matter what I do I just get stuck at the Samsung logo with an error in the default recovery screen about E: unable to mount or something like that.
Is anyone able to help me step by step to fix this.
He never rooted his phone this just randomly happened.
