Resistive touchscreen and the ability to write characters on the TG01

Hi, I want to buy a TG01 in the near future, due to the new ROMs and the low price in Germany for an used TG01 (starting at 160€) - I often use Pleco, a chinese dictionary and the "ChinaFEP No5" keyboard, that enables you to write characters on the screen. However I would like to know if there could be any problems because of the resistive touchscreen??? Does the touchscreen work incorrectly with "normal" pens? Do I need a special one?
Thank you for any answers regarding this problem!
AFAIK the resistives touchscreens work with any stylus... Capacitive touchscreens can have troubles with "normal" stylus.
thanks, I just thought I should ask before I buy it due to some reports about problems with the screen, but there seems to be a solution for that: showthread.php?t=632754

Synaptics T1021A confirmed clearpad 2000 i.e. dualtouch capable

i just called the synpatics technical support department in the U.S (0018774054163) and asked them weather the T1021A is a Clearpad 1000 or a Clearpad 2000 ?.......
and the answer was "according to documentation" IT IS a clearpad 2000 that is capable of registering 2 simultaneous touch points at the same time...
that was exactly what the support guy told me so i guess now it is confirmed that the T1021A is a clearpad 2000 unless synpatics guys know nothing about the stuff they produce
i can call them back anytime and get any further needed information, i guess it's getting more exciting for us now.....
thanks
Edit : Even if the clearpad 2000 got "buggy" dual touch it's still sufficient for playing games with it
- as shown in the first "test" video some times the touches register in the wrong position (inversed location) specially when the axis of the 2 touches is crossed, but still IT IS enough for handling multi touch games like in the Nokia n8 , HTC legend and ztc blade not to mention the Google nexus one....
Edit 2 : an example of what a clearpad 2000 can do is shown in these videos (using a ZTE Blade which is a clearpad 2000 of course).....
Video #1 multitouch test (Skip the first minute)
Video #2 Assassin's Creed (can run in any direction and jump @ the same time)
Video #3 Fifa 10 (Can run in any direction and shoot or pass @ the same time)
Edit 3 : It is believed that sony not only crippled the touch screen driver BUT also the touch screen controller chip firmware !! that's why we can still not get a functional DT and i believe this is right so at least now we know what we exactly got here and maybe a solution can be found over time...
Edit 4 : Ok called them again BUT couldn't get any firmware from them heck they didn't even know what a firmware is.....
But on the brighter side i got another CONFIRMATION from the marketing department this time that the T1021A is sold as a "clearpad 2000" Dual Touch Solution.....
Copied from the x8 forums just to make this information available here maybe the x10 mini devs and users have something to contribute to this cause.....
for original post please go >>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=847
Thanks.....
That was all I needed to read, thanks.

With modded drivers, even we can have dualtouch. It just seems it will be hard as hell to do it and the devs don't know how.
Sony Ericsson is too idiotic over its products!
i wonder why they are 'under' their competitors
Yes,yes,yes!!
Im gettiong sick of THIs sh-t a-s Fake dual touch! I WANT THE REAL DUAL TOUCH ON MAH CLEAR PAD 2000!

[Q] Chinese tablet Hyundai T10 brand new - touch does not work [Why?]

Hello,
A few days ago I received Hyundai T10 tablet. I turned it ON but the touch screen did not work (and still don't). I connected a USB mouse via the OTG port and I can move the cursor so I think the only problem is the touch screen. I tried to flash with other firmware but I found only one firmware for the tablet (sorry but I can't put links in threads) which I think it's the same and there is only one official firmware for the tablet (my thoughts). I searched for custom ROMs but did not found. The tablet is 10 inch and uses Samsung Exynos 4412 processor. So I think there may be 2 or more possibilities for this to happen:
1. There is a bug in the firmware.
2. The touch digitizer cable is not plugged in tablet's motherboard (which I think is casual problem when china factories make tablets on "burst mode" process like 10 000 a day)
If there is other possibility I think it will be moooore bad to fix it ;( bad I paid so much money for chinese tablet.
If the problem is the firmware..... all I can do is just some to be announced new firmware... which may be done... never. And it's not sure that the other firmware will fix the problem because the touch is fully unresponsive.
If it's the touch digitizer's cable not plugged in... I will need to open the tablet or send it to someone who has experience because I will probably 99,99% brake the tablet when opening it. But I give it to some technician he may broke something too. Because of the model.. you know.. not so famous chinese tablet he won't actually know what's right in the tablet and he may brake it too...
Last resort is to send back the tablet to China and pay for the shipping (yes, they want me to pay the shipping fees) and after they see that it's now working they will send me new one.
So guys... please can you give some advice or to guide me to do something that my tablet will work normally. Is there some method to see exactly what is going on with the tablet some diagnostic or idk... I will be very happy to see the tablet working
Thanks in advance
Is likely to be a software failure, try to upgrade. If not, you need to detect the touch screen cable is not loose. or reset to defaults,if those all doesn't work, the touch screen must be broken.
me too
HI,have you fixed the problrem? Can you help me?
i have the same problem that you , with just a difference, my hyundai T10 touch screen digitizer stop to work this evening , after one mount.
i bought it in may, for my son birthday, and now i just have a half brick device.
All work properly exeption for the digitizer. it work just with mouse.
i opened the device and i tried to move the digitizer connector , i put of it from the fpc connector, plug and re-plug , but nothing to do.
i belive it is a hardware iussue becouse it stop to work after i transport (with padding) the tablet from home to work, when i arrived at work i turned on the tablet , and the digitizer did't work anymore.
however i want to try others way before to waste it.
Can you help me? Can you give me some link for download firmware or anythig else for try to fix the problem?
this is my email address [email protected]
thank you for your help and your time.

[Q] Newb in need of help.

I have here a phone I am planning on using as my pilot project into android development and need some help determining some things.
I know that as a beginner this is not going to be easy but I hope working my way through this will enable me to learn a lot in the process. I recently got hold of a Samsung clone powered by a Mediatek mt6572 processor. I chose this because 1) the phone is cheap 2) I view Mediatek processors as virtually "un-brickable" and 3) it will be challenging if not impossible. The problem I am facing now is that I got it used with a broken screen and digitizer. Having replaced both I am now faced with my first challenge getting the kernel to properly support the replacements.
The touchpad is not recognized at all (or at least it doesn't respond) and the image on the screen seems to be inverted along the y axis. I am in the process of gathering information and would like to know is there anyway to discern the relevant driver for the touchpad while only knowing the controller IC?
I have been searching online trying to find a product that it was used in but so far the only thing I have been able to find is the datasheet.
tl;dr; I need help finding the driver that would support the controller IC for the touch-pad on my phone. The IC is made by Chipone and is in the INC830x series. INC8305M to be exact.
Thanks for your help.

[Q] Huawei MediaPad 7 Youth (S7-701U) - Using digitizer with an ChipOne IC (ICN8513F)

Good evening, folks,
I need to calibrate a digitizer with an ChipOne IC (ICN8513F.H) ("chipone_ic.jpg"). The original and latest Huawei firmware for the S7-701U has not a driver for this IC, so the touches are greatly misaligned ("misalignment.jpg"). Any ideas?
What I have tried (without a success):
Rooting the tablet, creating the ".idc" file and specifying the correct max/min values for x/y raw touch axes. According to the input dumpsys ("dumpsys-input.txt"), the default values were wrong.
Finding the correct driver/module and injecting it.
Background
I have bought this digitizer from eBay as a replacement for a broken one (with the IC damaged by an oxidation). Unfortunately, the digitizer was an imitation (fake) and has the ChipOne IC instead of the Synaptics IC. The Android is using an generic driver for the ChipOne digitizer and the touches are greatly misaligned. I have tried to correct this misalignment for a weeks but without a success. As I have read in many forums/posts, such correction requires low-level changes in the Android kernel and is not easy for me. I like challenges, but now I have also more important things to do. I have wrote this post mainly out of curiosity - maybe there is someone in here, who can eventually help me (and also help someone else with similar problem).
This is a hardware issue... really i don't know how can i help you
