Please, I need help!
As the title says, I messed up during the process of flashing. I realized I didn't install the recovery apk and was stuck with an P760 software (V20B) that had a mirrored appearance and a very wacky touch screen. So I tried fixing things by myself. BIG MISTAKE. I've flashed back and forth between softwares, and performed hard resets. I read in another thread how one could fix the wacky screen with flashing v10g. I did so, but my phone remains in the startup screen and doesn't progress any further. What did I do wrong?
So, I then decided to flash back to v20F. Now, I'm consistenly getting error messages such as "sorry the process .com.phone.android/or gapps/or core has stopped working." Something like that. Anyway, the pop-up message is so constant that I can't get out of the phone setup screens because these notification pop up as soon as I dismiss them.
Please help! Not having a phone for vital calls sucks! If there is other information regarding what I did, please ask! I'm a total noob but I recall exactly what I did.
PS: Tried finding that v10g flash thread but search engine is down, at least when I checked a couple of minutes ago.
Did you try the unbrick offline method. There's a couple of threads here just look around...

LG is so evil....lol. Instead of allowing adb reboot oem-unlock to work like on all LG phones, they pull fastboot on the later models of the P769.
Anyway, you need to use the v6.bin to fix the touchscreen.

I guess I should ask this way. Does anyone know at what phone model or original kdz point the oem reboot fails to work and fastboot as you said lady.

I am just guessing here. From what I read about LG, they remove fastboot after an update. Since mine shipped with jb, I think I can't get to it because it's been removed.
I could be wrong, though. I'll keep trying but I don't think I'll ever be able to unlock.

Just for others info, I believe you need a full cwm with unlocked bootloader in order to be able to flash kernels.
Yes you do. The bootstrap will only work with the P-Rom's like Laser, once you unlock bootloader you do need the custom CWM. Which is what I ended up having to install. Works good though. :]
What is the best way to flash mr5? Is there a guide? Thanks In advance

Follow those steps......Then when RSD asks to manually power up the phone do a battery pull and when powering back up HOLD THE VOLUME DOWN KEY till it boots into recovery. Then scroll down with the volume down key to "boot Android (no BP)" hit the volume up key. Let it do its thing. You should be up and working again.
These are the steps I used last night to solve the EXACT SAME problem you have....My device is now working again I just have to reactivate it when I take the loaner phone back later.

Most of it is cuz us noobs want to try stupid **** to see what we can get away with. That is why I did what I did yesterday, I was about 95% sure it would cause a problem but I chose to do it anyway.
So I have a new problem after restoring my device. Now I can't install any new apps from the market.every time I get the message "can't install ____ due to insufficient space on phone" of am at work now but I an gonna try to figure this out tonight.

Hi, this is Bhakta from New York, USA. I have big problem with my Motorola Photon 4G sprint MB855. After I have rooted my phone, I found new system software of Photon 4G. I download and installed but after installed the phone does not boot. the error massage 'Failed to boot 2 Starting RSD mode and hang up. If I boot manually, it boots but automatically shut down after less than 1 minute. I searched more than 12 hours online and try to download RSD lite drivers and sunfire user file but I can't. After all I found you helped a lot of friends. Please could you assist me. I am so frosted. I have no enough money to buy new one. Don't worry if you want to donate some I will. One more time please favor me.
Thank you
Bhakta
I feel your pain
Unfortunately I can not offer any help because I have the exact same problem. I can only offer what I hope are helpful details about the phones behavior that might help a knowledgable person with a clue to a resolution.
I rooted my phone by the One Click Root method. Friday morning I accepted an over the air software update and can now no loonger use my phone. My phone is in a boot loop, it will start and run about a minute and then restart, as its trying to restart it gets stuck displaying the error, "failed to boot 2" and "starting RSD mode" but it never gets past that point. I have to pull the battery to move the phone from that point.
When I try to fastboot I get the error "starting fastboot protocol support", but nothing ever happens from there, I have to pull the battery if I want to try the next thing. I tried to enter "Androidd recovery" from the fast boot menue but get the same "failed to boot 2" error.
Help, I am in over my depth.

I don't have an SBF for the latest update but all the other files have been on my site since December and as well as the Photon Compendium thread in the Developers forum.
At a quick glance from various sources it almost seems like moto did this on purpose. There are a lot of rooted users having issues with this latest update and the update blocks sbf flashing to and older releases. It may be a little bit before we can get this cleared up for you guys.
Have you tried booting into stock recovery and wiping data?

rooting p769 V10G was the trickiest and toughest one I've ever done.
one thing that took me quite a while to discover was, you have to open "phone" folder inside lg folder, inside Crogram data.
When copying bin6, you have to wait till bin7 downloads. Then replace bin6

You are right, that device is tricky.
I noticed that both of my P769 models will constantly disconnect when running adb commands.
This caused issues when rooting with the new KDZ instructions.
I had to run the root bat file a bunch of times to get the files pushed to /data/local/tmp/ .
After trying 4 times I verified the files existed and verified the permissions using the terminal app.
Even after 4 times I had trouble during a few rootings. I ended up copying each line one by one from
the bat file and running them over and over until they succeeded.
Just messeged hansoon if he could make a all in one tool kit for us . Hopefully he can .

I have been reading up on how to unlock the bootloader on my p769, and I tried this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2198114. However, when i tired doing the adb command it restarted normally, without unlocking the bootloader. Then, I saw this comment (#45) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2474689&page=5. I took out the battery from my L9 and it said "S/W: V10B". Does this mean because it came with ICS out of the box, I can unlock the bootloader? If so, what method do I have to do? I'm working on doing this myself. I don't understand..how come it works for some but doesn't others? Everything went smooth for me until the adb reboot oem-unlock command. My phone just rebooted..no unlock screen as saw in the video. I'm not 100% sure but I'm thinking this could be because I didn't have a Sim card in the phone, I only had WiFi. I'm unlocked however and have a At&t compatible net10 Sim I just received. I'm thinking of trying now that I have a Sim card but I had read that some people believe it MUST be a T-Mobile sim which I do not have. Has anyone that just reboots with no unlock after the oem- unlock command been running a T-Mobile Sim card? To me it seems that if these other L9s are able to be unlocked we certainly should be able to as well. I believe its a fine detail we are missing somewhere along the line that allows some while not allowing others. Does anyone have a extra T-Mobile Sim they would be willing to donate to test with or sell very cheap for testing see if maybe it must be a t mobile Sim card. Another thing that came into question was the USB drivers. When I tried to install the ones provided with the bootloader unlock for noobs file I was unable to install them because I already had drivers installed. It stated these were a newer version and needed to be uninstalled to install the ones provided. I did not do this. I just proceeded with the newer drivers I already had installed. Just a few thoughts.
Hello.
I know what you are thinking.
Oh no, not another n00b bootloader thread.
Sorry, but sadly it is.
I'm on stock JB 10D MetroPCS MS 769 10d.
I was reading through the Internet, but I'm hard of eyesight and the strain is really starting to stress me. I've never had a phone that seemed harder to unlock(the bootloader). I see many threads and it is really tempting to get a newer rom that will save my battery and all of my troubles.
The only problem is, each tutorial I come across has lead me in a million different directions. Some are dated back from June of this year. I would like an updated method, and of course being the newbie I am, I don't want to try an old method and turn this phone into a paperweight.
I have researched that the T-Mobile ROMs will work on this monstrosity. I know about 2nd init, clockwork mod, have unlocked the bootloader on a tablet. Have been following DROID since Froyo.
I need a sure fire way to do this. I'm sure some of the new guys around here would like a sure fire method.
Let me just brief.
I am familiar with Clockwork mod recovery.
I know basic Terminal Emulator commands.
I run Linux
I know given the right instructions how to Unbrick
My device is currently rooted using the Chinese method, was able to properly install SuperSU and get rid of the Chinese version.
I am aware that the process somehow involves firmware with an inverted screen.
There are so many guides and tools, I've used LG Support tool before, and my final question is...
How the heck do I unlock the bootloader on an MS769 Optimus LG with stock L9 10D firmware?
And yes I've tried the search feature and just got even more confused.

Awesome. Thanks guys. I had trouble with flashing kdz files so I had to go over the tutorials with a fine toothed comb, seems I did not have the small server in the right folder on the root of my C:/ drive. I got 10f flashed, that was my "safe" tester. As long as I can get into software update mode it should be no biggie.
Thanks to you guys as well. Couldn't have asked for better support than on XDA. When I am sure that my internet connection will be reliable, I'll go ahead and follow that guide.
Moving my apps to the SD Card would be really nice. This phone is not very well endowed as far as Internal Storage goes. lol
So yeah to repeat I got KDZ flash working, at least on the "municiple" laptop in the folks house lol. I know what I have to do.
First off, I'm dual booting this old piece of crap laptop I have, it barely runs Windows 7...but it works.
