CM 10.2 Battery Drain - HTC EVO 3D

Hello everyone,
I've tried to use the Cyanogen ROMs or any AOSP ROM on my EVO 3D for some time now. I've tried CM 10.2, but I get horrible battery life. Every one of these ROMs seems to have battery drain problem when the phone is not in use. This is always with the stock CM kernel and flashing another kernel, like MiRaGe, seems to help a lot. However, I still get far worse battery life with any AOSP ROM compared to a ROM based on the Sprint stock ROM.
Does anyone have an solutions to this? I'd love to know.

No need for Greenify anymore! Use CM 11.. Battery life is awesome.. Some bugs indeed but as I know the developer he will solve this in few releases :fingers-crossed:

i use CM 11.. not bad.. but still alpha release..

[Q] Best ROM?

Guys,
Hello to you all. Question to you all as I'm looking for the best, fast, stable, light, daily driver ROM for Galaxy 5. Also, a plus would be if it was still under development but...
Any advices?
Thanks!
AOKP
I've been using Android 2.3.7 Stock-like for a while and it worked flawlessly.
Long battery life (48+ hours with moderate usage), fast and responsive functionality, minimalistic and, well, stock like.
Give it a go.
I'm currently testing the MegaRom which looks promising. Had some hickups during the first installation attempt (boot loop), then I got it working via Odin/CWM: installed the rom first, then the fix and did a data wipe/factory reset (just this) and reboot after that, works like a charm now.
Best ROM threads aren't allowed on xda.
Use the ROM's and come to a decision yourself.
If this was any other device forum, you'd be shot by now and the thread locked instantly.

+1 very good rom, excellent battery life
I've been using Android 2.3.7 Stock-like and it's working very well. Battery life is great!
Sometimes there are lags and reboots, but compared with ROM stock this ROM is excellent.

[Q] [q] which rom to use?

Hi I am 15 years old and i have a samsung galaxy s2 GT-I9100 with stock ics 4.0.3 (exactly I9100XXLPS). It have some issues with (not opening some times) wifi and several battery drain when im playing games ( need for speed, asphalt, etc). I want to play games and surfing but my phone does not keep its battery until night. So I want a rom and a kernel which have no much battery drain, fix wifi issue and if its possible to extend the wifi signal...
Sorry for my poor english.
Thanks in advance.
Hi, i'm also 15 yr old, btw i'm from Serbia(if u know where is it...), if u using cf kernel it has a wifi bug so i suggest u to install siyah or dorimanx kernel... And, i think themes like this(whats best rom, which to use, ...) are forbidden, sorry btw try SuperNexus rom, for me that's best rom for begginers, wish u a luck !
I have to say that ROMs are all about personal preference. Imo you should test out various ROMS to see what's best for you...
That being said, I'm currently using Cm7 on my I777 and it has great battery life (although I suspect it has something to do with turning the second core off and using Siyah GB.)
For Jellybean my preferred ROM is Super Nexus... I got pretty good battery on that one too!

I'm using PA 2.54 with Dorimanx 7.17 kernel with moderate UV and battery save settings from STweaks. I deactivate auto-running non-useful apps and location services, use lower brightness, uninstalled some system apps and frozen others, etc. Search forum for more info

Sorry, but i am not a begginer and i know where is serbia... Anyway i am using stock kernel too now. Also i was using latest jelly bean resurection remix with latest siyah a week ago, but latest resurrection remix version had a very big issue with severe battery drain, so i decided to return to stock unbranded 4.0.3 and then try an other rom. Thats why i create this threat, for not trying all s2 roms.....
Thanks to all of you guys who replied.

How many battery cycles did you let the battery settle for? You should give your battery at least 3 cycles before you judge the life of the battery after you flash something. You can also try CPU spy from the play store to see if your device is deep sleeping. Also try better battery stats to see if you have any wakelocks.

I use RR 3.1.2 and I don't think there is a severe battery drain. Use better battery statsto know what caused it, at the first place.

I give the battery 10+ battety cycles in each rom i try before i report... I will try battery stats and set cpu but i think (because i have tried them in rr) they will not give me the exact reason about my problem. I will try again and post here the results.
Anyway, thank you.

In rr 3.0.1 jelly bean (the latest i have tried in rr) i didnt install the fixes which released one day after (was for rom fonts, etc, nothing for battery), because i have updated via update me app, which didnt download the fixes... Yesterday i found these fixes on internet... Do you think that this was a cause of my battery drain problem? But why the problem remained (not like in rr, but ramained) after i installed the official stock 4.0.3?

Hardly when idle and ok while using it. 4 - 5 hrs gaming. That's the max you can get with stock batteries.
Im not 15 and I want a rom and kernel that makes the battery last a week. Will be playing games all day,and making the odd call, and listening to music.
Ive got a ds,a psp and an ipod......but I dont use them now as its my phones responsibility to think its all them........and to make calls etc.
Now why have I got to charge the phone every day ......its totally ridiculous.

Battery Plus is my favorite ROM, fast, responsive and have yet to have any issues. average of 10 hours of battery life
currently on the hatka Rom (just flashed yesterday) so i can vouch for it being really nice and battery efficient. plus i love the transparent pulldown and app drawer on it.
Viper DNA just dropped today. I was on the beta testing team and not only is the ROM incredible, but I was getting improved battery life on it as compared to stock and UKB.
If u like a customizable Rom and tweaks and a lot of other things viper rom is the one for u. Me I'm on it I too was apart of the beta team and I will say viper is the sheit

Battery life on ROMs is a tough variable. Having hung around these forums for a really long time I can tell you that you will see huge swings in reeactions to battery life, often on the same ROM. There are so many things that can influence battery life that it really is a YMMV thing. you might be able to get some general trends from reading ROM threads, but there is no such thing as "gospel truth". some genral thoughts
1. Push email and facebook chew through battery
2. The accepted consensus is that battery saver prgrams like juice defender can eat as much battery ormore than they save but if you have a specific use case they may work.
3. you can spend your whole day chasing wakelocks...
All ROMs generally have about the same battery life. Battery is all about how you use your phone and how you manage what is running in the background.
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
Obviously everyone's mileage will vary, but of every ROM I've tried I've seen the best battery out of the Sentinel sense based ROM over in the international one development section. Yes it and basically every other ROM over there is compatible with the att variant
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
I have tried Sense 5.0, the Google Play Edition ROM and two CM nightly, the most recent one being July 5.
Both the GE and CM handily beat the stock Sense ROM in battery life (at least that was my perception).
CM 10.1 seemed to be a bit better than the Google Edition ROM (it also seems to be significantly more efficient in its use of resources which translates into better battery life), but there are still some issues with CM...NFC, Bluetooth, no Beats Audio Drivers, and I like the new Jelly Bean Camera App better so I am sticking with the GE ROM for the time being.
I love CM though and will probably go back to it once everything gets ironed out...
OK so I too have been questioning battery life. CM 11 did... OK. My previous phone was the Moto G, and comparatively my One has been doing terrible on battery life! I'm currently on Pacrom, tried PA and a couple similar as well, getting 9 hr battery life, 2 hr on (like what the f***!) according to GSam. I'm thinking about stock gpe and playing with kernels? Thoughts? Testing has been taking a while as I try to give every rom kernel combo 3 days at least, a week preferred.

A some what general consensus of Battery life for the One:
Sense > Google Edition > AOSP
In my opinion the best battery life will come from a fairly close to stock sense Rom such as MaximusHD with poondog's Kangaroo Kernel.

Screen battery drainage on KK

I need to know if the screen on my SGSII can be fixed to stop the minor battery drainage. I've been infected by this since I've rooted and ROMed my phone from stock 2.3.6 gingerbread. Now I've been on CyanogenMod 10.1.3 RC3 and that was the only ROM that saved my battery but since then the screen kinda hates me or something.
Here's my battery chart.
I don't mean to be annoying about having a Kit Kat ROM and complain about battery issues because I'm running SOKP 4.4.2 now.

The screen drains the battery when it is on. That would be the same from rom to rom, as far as I know. If you are getting more drain on one rom than another, it is most likely due to some application running in the background, or wake locks, etc. Please see this thread for information on how to diagnose and fix battery drain issues.
Thanks for the tip, but i do know weather to wait to more KK ROMS in the future or flash back down to a JB ROM myself, I like KK ROMS so far.
