not sure cuz i didnt pack a kernel with it. if you want to try this install some mdk modules after the rom http://omniimpact.com/android/roms/myfishbear/GS4/jfltevzw-MDK-modules.zip

Can you pack a kernel with it for us on MDK? If there was a compatible kernel it could just be flashed after installing the rom but I don't think there is a MI1 kernel?
I don't see how wifi will work without someone making a compatible kernel?

try flashing the rom, mdk modules, and root. it should work. if not try chronic kernel 4.2. i believe the stock kernel will kill loki without modifications. i may be wrong.
you can find the kernel here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2319243

It won't activate the phone in the set up wizard.

I guess with this it doesn't read the sim card it says there is a problem with it and won't activate.

[Q] Tegrak Kernel

Has anybody tried installing the Tegrak Kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920711) it seems to be compatible for the SGP
They are not compatible. If you flash it, you will just end up at the Samsung logo before it boots. It is made for the non US player. I wish it was though.

so I have the international player then I can just flash the one from the link there?
You should be able to flash it no problem. Just back up your device before flashing it to be sure.

if i back it up with titanium backup is that enough?

Do you have an 5.0 international player? If so, there is already a kernel in development section. See this thread.
Are you looking for anything specific in Tegrak kernel?

Do you have a Kernel with CWM on it? If so, that is the easiest way.
i still have stock kernel, which is why i wanted to use this one. I might try SteveS kernel instead
Good choice. You can always back up your device with CWM then flash the kernel using odin. If it fails, just flash the steves kernel back on the device.

DO NOT FLASH THIS KERNEL IT WILL RESULT AS YOUR DEVICE WON'T BOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OR BRICKED IF YOU WANT. (I tried it)

CWM Stock 2.3.4 kernel?

Hi I currently have the newest version of Entropy's Daily Driver kernel installed, I'm on 2.3.4 stock rom. Is there a CWM 2.3.4 stock kernel that I can flash? Any help would be great.

Why would you want stock over Entropy's? Entropy's is vastly superior...

You actually want to go to creepy's download repository. It's there.

The stock kernel in my Download Repository is bone stock.
The only stock kernel with ClockworkMod Recovery that I know about is the one prepared by codeworkx on Oct 2, the day the phone was released. Find it here.

I don't believe there is a CWM flashable zip of just the stock kernel. I only packaged the stock kernel into a tar because people wanted to remove the yellow triangle with it. But you can flash the tar with odin, no worries about the flash counter or yellow triangle. Or with Mobile Odin. Or you can flash the zImage with terminal, or with adb.

You should read codeworkx OP. He says it is compiled from sources. This was posted on October 2, so I don't think the sources were from at&t, but probably modified by codeworkx from I9100 sources. I'm not a developer myself, so I might be missing some info here.
But I do not think his kernel is one pulled from the I777, so it is questionable whether it is exactly like a stock I777 kernel in every respect. As far as I know, there have not been any problems reported using it. You could read through the whole thread to check.
is it possibile find kernel stock of last leak in cwm?

[Q] Updating to a Jelly Bean Custom Rom

Hi there!
I am wanting to update my Samsung Galaxy GT-i9300 but am worried about the process because of having installed a custom kernel previously (would this muck up installing a new custom rom I wonder..)
Please find attached a screenshot of the settings and please tell me what I should do (if anything needs done) before I flash a new custom rom.
Cheers!
if you're worried about kernels, then just flash stock kernel then flash a custom rom on it.

kk, could you provide me with a suitable stock kernel (or links to one) which will be compatible with the rom I have installed?
any stock kernel that is for jb will be fine.

I am on android version 4.0.4 (so technically not JellyBean). and its safe to flash a stock kernel for JB despite being on that version before I flash a custom rom?
Sorry for asking, get confused easily..
you should be fine updating with a custom kernel (as all roms flash a kernel as well). Just make sure you factory reset when moving from ics to JB as you will most likely encounter problems if you don't.

I would suggest flashing ICS stock kernel first if you're worried. I thought you were already on jb.

Easy
Reflash the stock ics ROM
And flash any custom ROM you want
Enjoy

I suggest you to use Philz kernel, it's a stock kernel with only busybox, root, and custom recovery included. Check the thread here.
If you just don't want all theses features and just want a non rooted kernel, you can just extract the zImage from the stock rom and flash it via mobile odin.

Somebody please explain custom kernels!

I have a Verizon nc5 with Hyperdrive 19, just wondering what the deal is with different kernels? Can I install the ktoonsez kernel or will it brick my phone? I've soft bricked once and don't want to do it again!
Sent from my SCH-I545 using XDA Free mobile app
Only people on MDK can run custom kernels. And custom kernels let you use more features for the rom, like an aosp rom. Safestrap users cant use aosp because our kernel is different from aosp and so wifi is usually messed up and USB transfers are broken.
So when I flashed hyperdrive, I selected the stockish kernel, not the safestrap one. It works fine, also flashed the nc5 modules to fix Wi-Fi, but those are the only two I can use, correct?
