How to block Verizon OTA? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Can someone kindly tell me how I can block future Verizon OTA's?
I'm on ME7 rooted and running Hyperdrive 10 and I really love it, awesome Rom.
However I've read in other posts of freezing something using Titanium backup, and that would do the trick. I just can't find that post anywhere now.

I saw that I was hoping I could block ota without rooting. Thanks though I guess I'm going to have to root.

The lgfota one. It's ok that numbers differ slightly. Fear not.

Sorry if I've missed it, but what apps do we need to freeze to block OTAs..?

just root it and then install TWRP (goo manager app). This will keep any OTA's from being able to be installed.

I have the GS4 on Verizon and I plan on waiting a little while to root my phone. However, I don't want to accidentally update my phone if Verizon pushes an OTA update. So my question is this: if Verizon does push out an update, does it install automatically or do you have to specifically give permission to install it?
According to my knowledge it will notify you that you have update. ..

Yes, its done, a stock root deodexed version. Two issues though, one wifi wont reliably work and every now and again it force closes. Building roms isnt my expertise though, ill probably have to ask beans or andybones for some help. Maybe one of them gets it done before me? Ive also been porting a bunch of 4.3 apps over (have about 12 that work right now) but im easily distracted lol plus its football Sunday!

No, the entire rom will restart. They upped the security from me7. I almost think people should stay on me7.

I am so annoyed with Samsung and Verizon. I may not know much about Android but it is a hobby of mine and they're killing it.

I agree, im beyond annoyed as well. I wish this stuff was as easy as it used to be. Every build requires workarounds.

You know what's going to be annoying?

People taking the 4.3 update and then complaining about not being able to flash ROMs or having SS working.

This thread was a waste! Could have put this in the many other 4.3 threads out. This is just Worse as the the people your talking about!

That's why I don't update anything until I check xda. Except for the upgrade of this phone :banghead: should have just gone insurance replacement on my galaxy nexus...

Sort of agree, yet the title of this OP could have been a bit more informative to the point of something like:
Take 4.3, lose rooting and safestrap capabilities at this time.
Just my .02 c
There is at least one thread already for discussion..http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2502597

Verizon OTA 4.3 UPDATE

Just got this note 2 and first thing it did is install the update. Now I'm on 4.3 and from all the reading and soft bricking I finally had to Odin back to stock to get this thing to boot. Now searching for root I ran across kingo for android and boom gained root access with ease. just thought I'd share.

10/10 thread, would read again.
Sweet a new rom! NOT

Just looked up kingo on xda the last post in the xda kingo forum said it was pulled from xda due to malicious software being downloaded

Well. As you can see see this type thread does nothing but lure troll like behavior. Is redundant in nature. But thanks for the effort.
Also, this is moved as it was not development.
Closed too.
