Hi,
Is there a way to add folders inside the app drawer? I would like to create folders there to make the icons organized. Such as all Socia Media apps would be in a Social Media folder, all office apps will be inside Office folder, etc. Also, can we add additional tabs inside the app drawer and not limited to Apps, Widgets, and Favorites?

Not yet, but we are working on it
How far are you to completing this request? I noticed it's a very popular one and it's forcing me to go back to Buzz Launcher because even stock app collection is too many to deal with w/o folders.

One of the recent updates allows for apps to be hidden, but we're still working on add more functionality to the app drawer.

Does anyone know if and how you can use custom icon for Folders on the Home screen. I dont see and option for folder in the custom shortcut section. am i missing something or can it not be done?
I don't think it can be done by default, unless I'm also missing something. I use an app called FolderOrganizer. It's not bad but sometimes the folders are a little slow to open. Its nice that it lets you sort all your apps by labels though. And you can add custom labels and categories.
right,I had that same issue so I got apps organizer.
Organize them into whatever you want and place on home.
They are customizable just like ADW
Dear all,
I love the way LG stock rom devides apps in to default ones and Downloads. Moreover, it allows creating new categories to better organize apps. However, no custom rom (void, prime, lol,...) has this useful ability.
Do u know how to get this? Which app can help with the same need?
The LG Home app recognizes 2 categories by default, but additional categories may be added. And ones from the first category can be moved to the second and so on. The only thing special about the "APPLICATIONS" category in the stock launcher includes all apps from the /system/app/ directory.
With Zeam, GO, ADW, Panda, Better Home and LauncherPro (I don't know of other launchers...) it is possible to create categories and organise apps the same way as in the stock home app. But system apps are by default not seperate from the user applications in the app drawer.
If you want the stock launcher app, just copy it from your stock ROM - "/system/app/LGHome.apk". Then you are free to place it on any ROM of your choice (Simply install the package or copy it to the /system/app/ directory).

How do you do this? I've been using LP Plus for 2 weeks and I've pretty much gone through all the possible settings from the preference page and I couldn't find anything about it there.

i would like to know this too so i can create category for my downloaded apps and preinstalled apps
Many launchers come with this function. Just try them. If you have an Android phone and you haven't yet tried all the launchers, it's weird. I bet 99% people have tried all launchers.

Yeah, I find no option to do this
On the S2, it seems when you remove an app, the app drawer doesn't re-org it just leaves a gap meaning it has to be manually sorted. Is there a way to automatically sort it other than using the list view?
I also have a similar question to this that I can't find the answer to anywhere..
Basically I have the same problem with around 9 app drawers half filled. I could sit here for an hour dragging each app icon, one at a time, to other app drawers to consolidate them into less drawers but it's very tedious and annoying to do this.
In some apps, I can select multiple icons (such as multiple pictures) and then move them all to another folder, or perform an action on all the selected icons; I can't seem to find a way to do this with my non-rooted SGS2.
I'm trying to find an app that will allow me to set categories and then assign app icons to those categories and then be able to sort all my icons based on the different categories... again, I've not had any success finding an app like that...
...so I've ended up here, on XDA Forums, to ask the people who know more than me.

you have let me think 3 options or maybe two...either download appzorter application from the market..that basically will sort all your applications in alphabetical order and also the folders you create. then if you have gaps it will sort that for you as well and fill the empty spaces.
or second option use a different launcher from the market and it sorts the icons and folders for you.
one launcher that lets you organize your apps into categories i think its either nova launcher or 360 launcher..no need to be rooted or anything like that to be able to use those apps. good luck let me know how you guys get on
Thanks, I have the EX Launcher.. but I don't like it because I have to setup the home screen gain and I had trouble finding the same widgets I had on the out-of-the-box launcher.. maybe I will try again one day.. but for now I will have a look at appzorter to solve my immediate annoyances
+1 for Appzorter
Why Samsung didn't include this function is beyond me.

To add a folder just go to Applications -> Context menu (hardware button) -> Edit -> Add Folder

have a look in themes and apps. there is a thread there that has modified touchwiz launchers and implemented in the touchwiz there is a modified version of appzorter. have a look there
I frequently change ROMS, and I always have all my apps backed up in Titanium Backup. This is great, because I can reload all my apps and gamesaves with a single click.
My only problem now is when it comes to setting up my homescreen. I like to have about 4 folders on my homescreen. To create these folders in ICS, I have to drag and drop my apps from my apps bar into the main window, then into their respective folders. I can do this with ADW launcher by simply restoring those settings...but I would prefer to get away from nonstandard launchers.
Question: Is there a way (program or other) to batch send all my apps to my homescreen so that I can speed up this initial setup process? Thanks in advance for any answers / guidance!
I used MyBackup with the same result when it came to widgets, any widget wouldnt display including clock. However, app shortcuts displayed as they're supposed to.
Hope that helps.

Will this program allow me to send multiple apps from my app drawer to my home screen? That's really the only thing I need. I don't care for widgets all that much, as the only widget I use is Pandora....easy enough to create on my own.
Touchwiz gallery seems to pull pictures posted in Google+ into separate folders labeled by date posted as opposed to one folder labeled "Photos from Posts" like Picasa or stock ICS/JB does.
Attached is a picture of the folders I am talking about. It's the ones I wish to remove/hide.
Three questions:
Is there any way to have it do the same as stock and place them in one folder as well?
If not, is there any way to simply hide them while keeping the rest of the folders from picasa visible?
If not, is there a third party gallery that will allow me to do the above asked.
Any help is appreciated.

QuickPic is a really good gallery replacement app.
You can exclude folders so they don't appear at all. I normally exclude music folders because I don't like seeing album art in my gallery. You can also hide private folders. You can password protect the hidden folders too which is a plus.
It's free in the Play Store.

Great app. No sync with Picasa or Facebook or anything for that matter
