If your running performance governor your cpu runs at Max Freq so battery is going to be terrible plus the fact you have high usage,
please give more detail like rom kernel etc if you use task killers or greenify, ram managers
Other things like gaming

Try using OnDemand governor and if you have it use nightmare governor as its performance based
and see how battery is also try wiping battery stats in recovery after full charge

ondemand always worked for me ... almost more than 12 hours on that (without much gaming)

on demand will make the processor work at max speed to finish the process faster and comes back to least speed to save energy

pegasusq, LionHeart, SmartassV2 are good governors try to balance performance and battery.
row and noop are good schedulers, but sio performs better in dual core processors.

Hi, i have just flashed the new HyperDroid v5.2.21 (Full wipe) and i wanted to know if i can overclock my SGS2 from 1.2ghz to 1.5ghz, if so how do i go about it?
Do i need to change the current kernel (XWL1)?
P.S ive heard its stable, but does it drain the battery?

Hello there. Yep you can overclock but you need a kernel that supports it. [url="http://gokhanmoral.com]SiyahKernel[/url] is a good choice. With that, use the Voltage Control app from the market.
However I know nothing about battery draining or stability... dualcore 1.2GHz mobile processor is more than enough for me, and the phone can get pretty hot under maximum load, same with the MALI GPU which can be overclocked to 400MHz (but since it has 4 cores and the phone has no active heatsinks it could get risky...)

I think AndroidMeda kernel already supports OverClocking...using this ROM for a quite long time...

Yes you can overclock and you can stick with the kernel that comes with Hyperdroid. I am currently Overclocking 1.6ghz max and 200 min. Not touching voltages though. Use No-Frills app to set it up. My advice though to you no point in overclocking as 1.2ghz is good enough as it is..And the kernel you are on is good enough...It is stable depending what voltage frequencies you use..I say leave it as they are. And like i said download No-Frills from the market..Set your clock speeds and that should be it..Choose a governor and off you go

No-Frills ? AndroidMeda Developers recommend Voltage Control (and I personally like it much more than No-Frills, too) with their kernel.

Pongster uses No-Frills. The rest of the team uses Voltage Control. And to avoid any freezes or random reboots leave the voltage settings as they are till you get to grips with the overclocking. Hence why i suggested No-Frills as currently Voltage Control for me kept on reverting back to stock frequencies..And yes there is a way round it but it is to much of an effort

I am currently using ondemand and Sio as scheduler. You can not go wrong with that. Like i said..choose a governor choose a scheduler and let them do the work...I also do recommend Voltage control but No-frills is simple and does the job for you. And no i would recommend either go to 100min or stick with 200...I am currently on 1.6max and 200 min

I personally use Sleepy governor and noop scheduler, but everyone uses different governors and schedulers...
I think 200 min is OK...100 MHz is too low and 500 is too high...

I have -75mV (previously had -50mV) and I haven't ever had any freeze or random reboot...

Thanks for the support guys, and yeah i am new to this whole android/rooting scene so no-frills looks like a nice simple and easy option for now until i get to grips with things. i will try out the differen governors and schedulers and see whats best for me.
P.S Neo is yours running stable at the maximum 1.6ghz?

Listen go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1369817 and read regarding governors and schedulers..Pretty straight forward and good explanations...And i am running the latest hyperdroid version but i am using Siyah kernel with thunderbolt tweaks...For you i would use the kernel that comes with the rom and use the default governor that comes with the rom...When i was on previous kernel version i always use to use Kenobi...Not sure if they have it there or if Pongs removed it but either that or solo...

The whole time that i have had the rezound i have had problems with the cpu settings sticking, and i read somewhere that using a script to set it works best. would this work? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1584508. and also since I have not really had luck with them sticking i would like to know what you guys think is the best governor, i was probably going to use smartassv2, wheatley, or pegesusq, but im not sure if they are the best for performance and all the explanations of them dont really tell if they perform in real life. Im looking for mostly performance, but i dont want something that will destroy my battery

well yeah i have that, im running cubed ics kernel 2.3.5, and i just want a better way to make my overclock stick and which governor will give the best performance without completely using up the battery, kind of a happy medium but leaning a little more towards performance. I guess I didnt explain that good enough

These are a bit dated and from another phone, but can provide a bit of insight into kernel governors and their behavior. Keep in mind a few technical points are different for our phone (different min/max clock speeds) but much is the same in general.
tl;dr Smartassv2 should meet your needs as a top performer while still gaining some battery savings. Try with noop or sio I/O scheduler. A modest undervolt, but avoid pushing it.

I have no problems keeping my Governor (Wheatly) set with System Tuner using the set CPU preference to remember after boot complete.

I dont know if anyone else has noticed this, but when i put my governor scaling to pegasusq, i can see lags in performance on my droid razr.
Whereas, hotplug mode works without much lag.
Also havent seen much difference in battery life, pegasusq probably gave me a 1 or 2 more hours of usage.
I've read about pegasusq that it works nearly same as hotplug, but with a screen off low processor state. Which is basically what i want, but the performance drops down a bit.

I think you got some problem...cause pegasushq is the smoothest governor on mine. Mind that I've installed the module in system I don't load it on boot using script...I got no init.d tweaks beside the undervolt script.

Please tell me how to increase battery performance of lineage OS . And also tell me best launcher.
I try lineage os after every build release but each time I get disappointed with the battery life. I hardly 3hr of SOT unlike in oos where I get at least 3 and half to about 4hr. The best idea for you is to flash a custom kernel like arsenal and lower the cpu and GPU clock speed with auditor app. That way it'll help provided you have no problems sacrificing a bit on performance.

Calibrate your battery after flashing the ROM.
Use Arsenic Kernel and then perform some tweaks to it using Kernel Auditor:
Under CPU
Set Max Frequency to 1497MHz and Min Frequency to 300MHz
And set multicore PowerSaving to Aggressive
Under Thermal
Switch Core Control on
Under I/O
Set Scheduler for Internal and External Storage to row
Make Read-ahead 512kB
This gives me about 4 and a half hours screen-on-time.

I started by changing performance profile from balanced mode to performance mode... and I can honestly say I don't notice a difference.
Now I'm just starting to experiment with changing the CPU and GPU governors using Kernel Adiutor. I've changed both little/big CPUs and GPU from interactive to performance. I'm not sure how to measure the results, but my feeling is that all around performance has increased, but the device still struggles with heavy tasks and app switching.
Anyone else have success tweaking? Please share your methods

The best perf i got is with CPU gov bluactiv and io schedulers tripndroid.
But i did not tweaks all possible values.
I guess a lag will always be present as we have 2gb RAM phone

i set my governers to lionfish and disable fsync and i/o sceduler to maple its works great

You can search for it for more info. But TL;DR, fsync prevents data loss when a sudden power outage happens. For example, you are saving something then you accidentally restart your phone for some reason, there is a chance, repeat, a chance of data loss. A whole year of having it disabled, I haven't had any loss.

using HD kernel with spectrum..its pretty good,,

changing data and cache partition to f2fs make it really smooth.
and with HD kernel it makes it even smoother.
