Unlocked - AT&T HTC One (M7)

Does an unlocked T-Mobile version of the HTC One work with AT&T's LTE and the prepaid $60 plan?

A friend of mine uses an unlocked tmo one just fine on AT&T.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app

Is the LTE Speed the same as T-Mobile for them or if they have prepaid AT&T, is the speed the same?

His speeds are around 40mbs down, I've personally witnessed this. He was getting 15 down with tmo.

Good jump in speeds for sure. My HTC One gets about 10-25 mbs down and 1-7 mbs up. I think AT&T is where I take my service to soon because they just had a major gaffe on their part and I need a new unlock code asap.

T-Mobile and Metro PCS Merge to become: T-Mobile!

Not sure how or if this will effect the average T-Mobile user.

I seen somethin about this yesterday. All I know is if T-Mobile buys metro, and MetroPcs starts using Tmo towers and tmo's network, but keeps metro's prices, then I'm going to metro for sure

When tmo buys it, there won't be any metro, it's gonna most likely be phased out, T-mo just wants their towers and customers.
It's a reverse merger. At first T-Mobile owns 76%, but eventually metro owns it and keeps the T-Mobile name. I'm a T-Mobile customer, but I'm all for it.

Wrong.
T-Mobile owns 76% and has the right to sell its stake in the combined company at any time. It's a merger, keeping T-Mobile name with an exit door for DT if they so desire.

Did you notice the article you got this reverse merger idea from stated it as OPINION?
The deal between T-Mobile and MetroPCS is actually considered a reverse-merger, in the sense that it is set up for MetroPCS is effectively “take over” the larger T-Mobile USA. This is being done so that Deutsche Telekom can receive 74% of the new T-Mobile and the “new company” can be listed on the stock exchange, as MetroPCS is already a publicly listed company. This maneuver offers Deutsche Telekom a way out of the US market, if they wished to do so by selling off their shares at a later date.

Folks with current TMO Phones won't be impacted, because MetroPCS is CDMA & TMO is of course GSM.
Unless Metro has a huge warehouse of paid-for LTE stuff... I don't see why TMO would even want them, as the networks/hardware are incompatible.
ETA: Apparently it's all over spectrum licensing... TMO gets Metro's spectrum in markets where there's no (or not enough) TMO presence... They plan to shut down the CDMA network and make all MetroPCS customers switch to GSM phones.
Geez, is not a debate, what I said wasn't untrue except I meant 74% not 76%. And yes, the reverse merger could be the writers opinion. Sorry for adding info. Now I know better than to try to contribute to a forum.

That's a smart move from tmobile because all networks including metro are moving faster to lte, infact metro has lte and tmobile doesn't but tmobile is soon getting it. All networks will soon have lte merging into a global network.
Don't we still have to wait for fcc to approve it
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda premium
Yeah approval is still needed, but there isn't nearly as much push back about this merger as there was when at&t tried to do their thing, making it seem more likely. But still only time will tell.

HTC Rezound on Simple Mobile with 3g /HSPA /LTE?

I have my rezound on the leaked Global update rom on Simple Mobile $40 plan. I am in Indianapolis, Indiana and moving soon to
Denver Colorado... I want to have speeds better then Edge. Does Indianapolis, Indiana or Denver Colorado areas have the ability to use something better then Edge speeds for data? Do I need to wait for the ATT spectrum that Tmobile got as part of the break up of the merger? Tired of edge....
I'm from Denver, hope you like it! I don't think we have simple mobile, but it'll work with straight Talk sim Idk about data for that though. All I know is Verizon 4G lte ran at about 45mbits a second

I already have a denver phone number from simple mobile. In indianapolis i only get edge speeds. If i knew someone with a straight talk sim i would test it that way to see if straight talk supports 3g or better.

You well get no better than edge speeds on T-Mobile or att networks due to the resound not supporting the frequency band they operate on. Unless your in am area T-Mobile is refarming 2g spectrum to HSPA+

does anyone have simple mobile in Denver Colorado and have a rezound on it? Are you getting any 3g or better speeds. If so how did you get the better speeds? I read that Denver has been refarmed as someone with an iphone 5 has 3g service. I will be moving to Denver on March 1 so just wanting to see... I am in Indianapolis which so far i only have edge speeds... unless i need to edit something....
The only way it would work is if you could get a plan using att network through simple plan and do the radio edits described in the link above. Otherwise, gl until T-Mobile launches there new platform.

Temp phone for JTAG

I'm going to send my phone put for JTAG soon, and I need a replacement phone. All I have is a T-Mobile sensation 4g, as the DNA is my first Verizon phone. The LTE SIM won't fit into the sensation. Any one have any suggestions?
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
You could buy a SIM adapter. However I am pretty sure the T-Mobile phone will not work on Verizon. The Verizon SIM is used to connect to the 4G network only. As far as I know, T-Mobile has not implemented LTE and T-Mobile phones cannot connect to LTE networks. Even if it did, it would not be setup to use Verizon's LTE frequency.

DUH! An adapter! Don't know why I didn't think of that. Thanks, that's probably what ill do. I figured LTE wouldn't work, and I didn't even plan on data working period. But I need to make calls and texts, so in hoping that works. The sensation is unlocked and rooted so in hoping it works
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Even with an adapter, the T-mobile phone with a verizon sim won't work on Verizon. Verizon's network authenticates phones, and only phones that are in its database will work.
After a quick lookup, the Sensation will not work on Verizon. You can give it a try and see however it does not support the CDMA frequencies. This is a GSM phone only. I've attached a network spec and you can see it at the bottom of the picture. Also, Verizon does do authentication

My DNA is out for JTAG now. I picked up a relatively inexpensive RAZR HD on Craigslist for the duration. When I get the DNA back I'll just offload the HD back onto CL or on eBay for as much as I paid or more. Find a reasonably good deal and you won't lose, no big deal.

I hope it works for you because according to the specs of our phone it should.

When i get HSPA, I can pull 13mb/s download, 3 mb/s upload. But the 1900 mhz, is not in all places where I live. So I get those speeds, or Edge. Sucks. I don't recommend trying to pull up Google Map to look for something on Edge, it's slow.

AT&T prepaid LTE coming June 21st what you think ?

I think this is great for att as a company but personally as a contract customer I'm worried about my speeds dropping significantly . I currently average around 50-60 dl and 20-40 ul in my area.
I wonder if att is gonna cap the prepaid lte users to 10 or 20 mbps as I'm sure that will help me keep my speeds.
All I know is I pay way to much $ to att for my contract with 5 lines and lte on all phones to not even have unlimited.
If my speeds suffer because of this move I will deff be taking my one to t mobile or sprint if I can to get unlimited data instead of paying for overages.
I don't mind paying overages though when my speeds are 5 x faster than anyone else where I live but if my speeds go down because of overload to towers I might as well get tmobile or sprint ( will HTC one from att be able to use on sprint ? I know I cab wit t mobile but sprint don't have sims ) and not have to pay any overages. Sounds like a no brainer.
I would tread carefully att or your gonna piss off all your contract customers and we all know there the ones keeping the ship afloat
What is your guys opinions on this move by att to grab up the prepaid lte people's ?

Lol, move to Sprint for unlimited data . It's unlimited because 90% of the time it is unusable. If AT&T added 50 million prepaid customers in addition to their current customers, their LTE would probably still be faster than Sprints. T-Mobile coverage is spotty at best and if you're not in a blazingly fast area, their data speeds are comical as well.
I know AT&T and Verizon make you pay and don't have unlimited data, but they work a bit better than the others.
