Hello,
can anyone who knows how to do that, create a kernel with USB keyboard and mouse drivers added, based on Gingerbread 2.3.6 (Version number:Gingerbread.XWKL, Kernel version:I9100DDKL1). And there is no way I switch to any other Android version. If this will work I can happily "donate" kernel builder.
I got my ROM from here so it shouldn't be hard to find but if not please PM me so I can deliver my ROM by email.
You dont need a kernel for keyboard / mouse these are implemented on rom , all kernels have this function
Try installing a jb firmware cuz they have implemented usb otg functions

ICS stock rom works. Make sure you use a working hdmi cable.
Don't know if you can flash the stock Rom straight from phone. If you can do you have a link?

You can using mobile Odin.
Download from sammobile.com or checkfus downloader
if you have rooted and CWM installed, you can flash ROM from phone otherwise you have to use ODIN
link for CWM ICS stock rom :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1292825
Cheers zac downloading now so we'll see if this works

awaiting your feedback, I am also interested in MHL adaptor, but not available in local market here, if this works on stock ICS probebly it might work on all the official based ICS roms too.
Yesterday I tried my own made OTG cable on my ICS XWLP9 / siyah kernel. Keybord, Mouse and flash drives working like a charm.....donno this will work on the stock kernel. on GB it was not working..
Tried it and failed. Still not working. A lot of the roms say mhl not working. Thought about going back to a gingerbread rom but alot of the links are down. Back to the drawing board

did not make backup??? or you have only tried stock unrooted ROMs from ODIN.
there are GB downloads available...
You're doing something wrong, MHL works fine on stock ICS ROMs.
My phone is rooted. I put the wanam Rom on that u posted the link for but when i plug it in i still get a blank screen on my tv

it means, you need a pure stock.. flashed from ODIN..??
if you are looking for GB to go back, there are GB versions too in Wanams list..
I've got wanamlite ROM and siyah latest kernel. I'm using bought on Ebay adapter and hdmi cable plugged into my monitor.
Dice player for video and angry birds space for fun - both works fine on big screen

Yes. and older version of Super One Click but it depends on your Android version and you have to do it on your computer. If you have 2.3.5 you can, if u have 2.3.6, u cant.
Super one click makes use of gingerbreak, if gingerbreak doesn't work, superoneclick won't be able to root your device...

It is possible with the 2.3.6 version, if you're not scared of flashing with Odin (via your computer). The disadvantage of flashing is that you take more risks, it can go wrong. It's your choice...
Good luck!

Don't you need to be rooted to flash
Sent from my YP-G70 using xda premium
No, flashing is transferring software/firmware via the micro-usb port of your device. To do that, you need a flash tool (for the Players you'll need Odin3) and a rooted ROM and kernel (just take a look in the development section on XDA for this device, you will see a lot of different custom ROMs and kernels, each with different goodies and stuff.

Oh okay I thought it had to be rooted that's why I rooted my player the used Odin to flash

i have rooted my sgs2.. previously it was supported with kernel version xwlp7.. now i have changed its ROM to cm 10, jellybean 4.1.1.. and now it shows kernel version 3.0.36-cm-g1e9497f. i want to again change the rom to the official 4.1.2. how can i do it?
You'd be better off asking in the GS2 forums. However, there is no official 4.1.2 as yet. There is a leaked test build, which I'm on, but it's a bit buggy ans Samsung still haven't removed the eMMC bug from the stock kernel, so if you dont know what youre doing, which I suspect you dont, you can irreversibly break your phone
If you really want to install the test build though, just have a search for XXLSJ (the rom build).

I am new to this
Gotta have a custom Rom that supports usb OTG...I've never tried it because I don't have a USB OTG cable so i cannot tell you whitch ROMs it will work on....I can tell you it Will not work on Any Sense 3.6 Rom or stock based Rom or stock Rom...only Aosp ROMs with proper kernels will allow USB otg...and I'm 90% sure of my response...
