[Q] Themer theme changes not saving - Themer General Discussion

I downloaded a theme from Themer, and made some small changes to one of the themes, and it saved it. At one point I hit the Home button and Sense came back (which is fine with me as I am not fully committed to this app and need Sense once in a while). However, when I went to apply thetheme it puts up the originally downloaded version. What am I doing wrong? If I unlock the widget, configure it, and then go into Saved Widgets - there is nothing in Saved Themes and in the Widgets tab is only things I did very recently - nothing from the previous day.

All you have done wrong is you need to export the theme. To do this just hit the themer icon in the app launcher.
Then select setting then advanced then hit desktop and tick lock desktop widgets then go back to the advanced settings and hit export theme.
Job done your theme will be saved in my themes, exported
Hope this helped

I've saved it multiple times, under different names but it's still not there. My saved themes section is still blank. I updated to the most recent version this mroning, and it's stil not saving. It may just not be compatible with my device. No worries, thanks anyway...

I had this but when I had it I was putting this _ in the name so I now just use spaces between words and it works fine. You must remember this is still in beta. But the fact you can use themer on you device I would say its compatible.

Lol, he needs a little more direction than that...
There is an app in the market called "Desktop Visualizer", download it. It will allows you to create widgets on your home screen that are completely adjustable (you pick the image, the application it pulls up, and the name below it). If you want to use text icons I suggest you download some packs which can be found on:

[Q] Eclipse v0.6 app drawer/launcher

Does anyone know how to add 5 icons to the app drawer at the bottom of the screen on eclipse v0.6? That last version I used had an option in it and now I can't seem to find it. I want to use the deblurred version.
I understand its a tiny issue but I really prefer five icons.
Thanks for all the help
The Action Buttons?
I think they are under the ADW settings right?

Thats the thing. I have been all over the rom and can't find the ADW settings.
Huh, that sucks, maybe go to the market and reinstall it?
I went from .6 to .5 for the red ICB theme, I want to try out .7 though.

Is this serious?
1. At home screen hit the menu button
2. Select 'more'
3. Select 'ADWSettings'
4. At the menu select 'UI Settings'
5. Select 'Main Dock Sytle' and change to '5 Icons'

Personally, I use launcher pro + which has the option in a similar location to ADW.

Desktop layout backup

I've been pretty much flashing "a rom a day" and re aligning my pages and widgets is getting rather annoying. I wonder if there is an app that would backup the desktop layout for this rom. So far it looks like I'll be sticking with InfectedRom.
2nd Question: How do I change the default caller ID picture?
thanks
Adw ex has a backup desktop option. I use it all the time when I flash roms.

To change the picture go to People(app)>[person name]>Menu button>Edit Contact>
Then you will see on the contact's picture icon at the top left of the edit screen there is a small arrow next to the picture. Press on the picture and a "select contact photo" window will pop up, with the choices to set the contact picture from Gallery, Camera, Google, Twitter, Facebook, etc.

Did you have any luck finding an app that will backup your page settings, for example widgets, shortcuts, etc..

Yes, same here. I have a paid copy of TiBu, but don't see anything called Backup Desktop Layout, or anything like that.
EDIT:
Found the TouchWiz Home system app in TiBu and it did backup my pages and icons, but not widgets. Can't backup TouchWiz widgets at all I am seeing. A slight annoyance, but I'll get over it and check out launchers. From what I have read, replacing your default stock launch does not put another layer over the UI. It replaces it! So, it should not cost extra memory, battery, etc..
You can also use Nova Launcher (Prime), which imports the layout of your own launcher, and then you can back it up.
Still the best launcher imo.
Thanks, I am checking out the free version now. And also that ADW one as well.
I did find out that I can backup the TouchWiz Home system app in TiBu and it will restore the pages and icons, but not the widgets.
+1 on Nova Launcher Prime
backs up widgets too

I bought nova prime on sale and use nova now, without knowing the limitations
Yes, the backup, restore is superb
The importing from other launchers too
And widget restorations
And lastly, decent customization

I am using this. Works great. Probably a 3 star app. What i did was i put all the apps in one folder so they didnt go across all my screens, then i put this app's short cut on my dock bar. Works great. Its just very none aesthetically pleasing. Could use some more customization, maybe some sorting or something like that.

I tried MIUI last night, I also installed this, but what I just ended up doing was removing this and put everything i didnt want on my homescreens in one folder and put that folder as the middle dock icon, and it basically works just like an app drawer, u can change the sorting to numerous options including by usage, which i thought was really cool.. the folder also has a neat open and close animation when u click it (when it is in the dock anyway). I always end up going back to some stock derived rom though, I just feel like I am losing features going to cyanogen or MIUI

[Q] Cannot get rid of TW as default launcher???

Arrgggh! Someone please help, as this is driving me nuts. I have set ADW EX as my default using Homeswitcher, but every time I press the home button, the evil TW is back.
It must be simple, but I'm missing it. Any help appreciated
first you need root and 2nd you need some kind of root explorer. then navigate to system/app choose seclauncher2 and rename it to seclauncher2.apk.bak. but keep you other launcher active.
or i think you can go to settings/apps and try to deactivate it but not sure if thats gonna work, that does not work with all apps
Go to
Settings > apps
Search for touchwhiz
Select
Then clear defaults
Press home key
Chose add as default
And boom

I have used Android since Cupcake on the HTC Dream/G1. I have used non-stock launchers for 2+ years. Trust me, this was different.
Normally, I install the new launcher, press home and then get asked which to use and set by default using the tick box. That should be it, but TW kept coming back as default. Even using home switcher, which has never failed me.

and u chose tw
now when ever u will click on the adw launcher icon in ur drawer it will the icons and stuff to adw like
but when u again click home key
it will take u back to default launcher and that was tw as selected

That's odd, as I have a Galaxy Note too, and that behaviour doesn't happen, even on ICS. Only the S3 confused me :-D
I have no issues using apex launcher on the s3, same as it has been for every other android version, maybe its an issue with the specific launchers you are using.
