Wifi calling? Maybe you mean call over wifi or video call over wifi but anyway this dont needs a specific rom 5his needs a app like skype

Yes, i mean call over wifi.
I thougt also the rom must support this.
Because my wifi call app says to toggle on in mobile Networks (WLAN) "enable wifi call" and i don't find this choice.

The tmobile based custom roms like wicked, infamous have the wifi calling feature
U should try out the wicked rom it has some really cool features

Try using skype and you can then call to any android, ios or PC.....
Video chat is also possibe but not for this device as it has no front camera..

There are many SIP services online (ex. Skype, Voipwise, Smartvoip...). Skype is useful for landline calls, but other services are cheaper for mobile. Check them all, they have different promotions and prices.
i tried sending files with wifi direcf to my fathers galaxy note 2...it connects,gets paired but never transfers....same happens when tried to recieve something...
then tried with my mom`s S4 ..Still same thing happening...
again with my sis s3 and galaxy core...no luck...

from samsung phone...go to sammy file manager..select file,share, wifi direct,search,connect,successful,cannot send....
from my l9 i just cant figure out how to exactly share via wifi direct...use smartshare or file share...dont know...

im wondering if theres an app that can make a portable wifi hotspot FOR THE WIFI U ARE CONNECTED TO.
I know I have portable wifi hotspot on my note 2, but its only for mobile data not for wifi.
Why not just connect to the router itself?

In moments such as where you don't want to give your routers password for a stranger for a temporary purpose..
I also need this...
I don't think there's an app that can do this. If you use the wifi radio to connect to a router, you can't use it at the same time to create an hotspot. I'm quite sure of that. Sorry for my bad english guys

I just upgraded to the JellyWhiz ROM but would like to have wireless tether again. Is there anyway to get this working on this ROM?

I've tried a dozen hotspot apps and none of them work for me.
Post 247 of beanstown's stock root 4.3 thread. Someone posted a zip you flash.
I can't send mms on Wi-Fi. Anyone know how to get this working?
I also have been trying to turn off the voice when I get calls that reads out the callers name. Any idea about where you can turn off that feature?

I have this problem but only with MMS originating from certain iPhones.
I was reading online and I get the feeling this is a problem with carrier/iPhone settings and not the s5 so there might not be a way to fix it.
Might try disabling automatic download of MMS and try downloading it manually after turning wi-fi off as a temporary solution
Yea it works on regular data. I just was wondering if anyone else could not send on wifi of anyone knew how to turn off the call voice announcement.
Maybe a bug u say?

I have the same issue.. Doesnt matter if i use the stock messaging app or hangouts.. and if im on edge i get the message that says click here to download the message from the person who sent a group message.. Instead it going to the group thread.
I wonder if its a T-Mobile thing or what? I dont remember having this issue with the M8..

I think if you disable wifi calling, it works.. After that reboot and give it a try.

I'm pretty sure disabling wifi calling disables MMS over wifi....

Why would you need send mms over wifi since all plans are unlimited talk and text?
Also, when I have wifi calling enabled I can't send group messages. When I disable it, it works just fine..

Then it won't send. I called to and they said it must be my phone or a provisioning issue. I have had two different gs5 and they both wouldn't work. I'm sure it's provisioning

Yep.. Go get a new SIM card. That's what fixed mine when I was having issues with group messaging not being an option under messages.
Ok I went to the tmobile store. Make sure you are using a SIM with ISIS. I have a new one and now it works. I do have to be connected to WiFi calling though.
