I will be selling mine a couple days from the release of the samsung gs2. So around Sept 7th (hopefully ). I just bought it a week ago. Had an extra upgrade and wanted to be rid of my epic.

Check craiglist. I found a used one for $220. Works great. Had to drive 30 miles to get it.

They OP has been on XDA for a while - I would imagine they want the phone, I don't perceive it as a troll thread.
I just got one off ebay for $320...

Thats a striking contradiction. You wanted to be rid of your Epic, but you are gonna get an Epic 2?
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
Why buy a used one? With all the discounts and offers available at Sprint, just about anyone can get one for $50... many times FREE. Are you concerned about the contract?
Mike
Wellllll, first order of business, not a troll thread. I am genuinely interested. Secondly, I can't get any other offers because I only qualify for the $75 off credit on Sep 1st. I also have the Epic, it is breaking and so instead of paying the cash for insurance I would rather put it towards the 3d, which I want... I will look on craigslist and elsewhere. I just would rather buy from xda member because I feel like I could trust that the phone was taken care of. Thanks for all the replies.
There are 3 for sale in the market I believe

Do what I did. Add a new line, trade in your epic and get the 3d at the discount price minus the trade in. Then put the new line on seasonal hold. They kinda of goofed mine up and I think took the new line off ha-ha.
I got a 3d for 50 bucks and I'll be paying like 100 or 150 to have the line taken off if it does show up on my act.
Radio shack was offering a trade in, was to be 100 dollars but hey gave me 165 for ny EVO shift.

Epic 2???? Let me put it a different way. Wanted to be rid of the extra bulk of the physical keyboard which I never use and to have a slightly larger screen. Also something a bit faster. After getting the 3d, I actually love it, but I still may use the upgrade for the gs2.

So My Dad Wants to Add a Line To My Contract Which I'm Fine With. He Wants A EVO LTE Or The GS3. I have The Jewel(Love It) and I Know That there's a Deal On Sprint.com Where The EVO is 0.99$ and The GS3 is 99$. my Question Is if I buy a cheap sprint phone on Craigslist, and I add that phone on a new line. Can I buy the EVO as an upgrade? IDK if you guys are understanding me but I need help asap.
Thanks in advance.

Yes you can do that, but you get upgrade price when you add a line.

Shop around online and see what u can find... Amazon.com actually gives discounts on new lines... For example, the note 2 on Amazon wireless is 99 for a new line, 199 for upgrade... Of course these prices fluctuate, but still..

The prices on Amazon must fluctuate s lot. Now it's $169.99 to add a line

All I got to say is adding a line to my mine was the dumb.. same thing added a line for my pops and my next bill was all messed up they hit me with all types of charges.. I thought it would make my bill cheaper and it did like 4$ dollers cheaper.. lol never again.. maybe it cheaper when u have mad lines like 4 or more but my pops was better of getting his own line in his name really.. well its good if u want a upgrade for your self

Probably because you got the phone in the midfle of a billing cycle so the next bill was for a month and a half plus the activation fee (cant remember if its added to the monthly bill.. always get mine waived..).It is cheaper. 90+ per line or 2 lines for about 140-150. Hated explaining prorated bills when i worked for dish network..

Is that really possible? If he's adding a line and providing his own phone why would they make it upgrade eligible if it's a new line? On another note adding a line with Amazon you can get the Evo LTE for a penny (just ordered one last night), GS3 for $59.99, LG Optimus G for $99.99, and the Note 2 for $169.99.

That's because it never was $99.99 for add a line. It's $99.99 for new customers. But the price did go up and now it's $169.99 for new customer or add a line.

Yes, I added a line about a month ago for my mother in law and gave her my 3D. Then a week ago used the upgrade I never used on that line to get her a gs3. Also remember that adding a line to a pre-existing family plan or changing from an individual plan to a family plan to add a line, is not the same thing as adding a line as a new customer.

I know the difference between adding a line and new customer. My point was the best deals on Amazon are for new customers. Like the LGOG for example. New customer price for individual account or family account is $49.99 while add a line to individual account or family plan is $99.99. Good to know you get a upgrade on the new line tho

Yes I know I paid for upgrade instead of new line, what I'm saying is. If you add a new line and use a phone you already have, you will loose the new line price when you want to get a new one. I went back and forth with sprint on the issue and they would not give me a new line price on it. Still not a bad price at 50 bucks. TBH I'm not going to spend a lot of time fighting for $50, especially since i got the guy to get me on a zero plan.
So Who all's gonna jump on this new upgrade option titled "edge". I'm just curious what everyone thinks. I see both positives and negatives to both sides.
I'm going to with our next upgrade. It's expensive but I figure a new insured phone each year is worth it.

Nah....
I did it for the HTC One. Going to try it out. Paying 25bucks a month, I can either trade it in later or pay it off and keep it. To me, its no different than buying the phone outright and then selling it for half value.
Now if you have an upgrade available and can do the upgrade shuffle to keep unlimited, I would do that instead. But I'm being impatient.
Oh, and it let me keep unlimited.

I did the exact same thing. Enrolled in Edge, bought the HTC One, and kept unlimited. And I wasn't eligible for an upgrade on this line until November 2014.
Here is the link, I'm surprised it's not getting more attention:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2423121
I upgrade on average once a year, maybe twice depending on what Samsung puts out. I usually get phones about a month or so after they come out off swappa or craigslist for about half the price of new. I used an upgrade to get the S3, then upgraded to the Note 2 about 3 months later. I sold the S3 for 450 and got the Note for 375. When the S4 came out, people were trying to trade straight across for the note 2. I could have "upgraded" but chose to stick with the note. So I figure it would cost me less to continue doing my upgrades as I have then it would be to go with edge. Phone companies are never working for you, its always about making money. We will see how good edge really is.

I'm getting it right now to see if I like this phone instead of shelling out $200-300. If I don't like it, it goes back and the out of pocket is minimal. I'll probably get the Note 3.

No biggy. If you could keep unlimited it it wouldn't be such a bad deal. As is though you are painting Dame price for service and also paying basically for a phone hag you just turn back into verizon for no credit and then buy more. It's a win win for them here...

The only one that is truly a good deal is Tmobiles Jump program. It's 10 dollars and that includes full insurance. So basically you end up not paying much extra to upgrade every 6 months. Plus, you don't have to have your phone half paid for. The only downside... It's t-mobile service. Otherwise, you are paying a lot more with Verizon edge.

All of the ones so far I have seen up for pre-order are either Black or White.

She wasn't allowed to reveal that much. But if you're planning on jumping, do it in store since it'll go by a lot faster. I doubt they're going to sell out, so pre order is not needed
I'm not pre-ordering a darn thing until I find out whether it's got a locked boot loader or not.
If not, then I'm leaving AT&T [and my grandfathered-in unlimited data plan] who definitely has the locked boot loader.
Was a nice surprise for me when it came up for me as 0$ down and 27$ a month.
The locked bootloader might not be too much of an issue but would be annoying if it is.
With them not lockinng down the S4 or the note with the recent updates I am hoping this one wont be locked.
I guess we will find out on the 11th
