I searched for this error for quite awhile: on xda forum and google in general but I did not find any solutions. (Sorry for my English I'm Italian)
Today I wanted to root my Galaxy Tab P1000, and because I've rooted my SGS2 I tought it would've been easy, but I realized that it doesn't work in the same way. So after some search on Google I found this program called "SuperOneClick" that has rooted my tablet, then I searched for how to flash the CWM recovery and I tried to install it with Odin. I opened Odin and selected PDA file of the CWM, put the tablet in download mode and clicked start, after a while Odin sayed Failed and so I unplugged the cable. The tablet has gone to this screen with the phone-yellow triangle exmark - PC, and It's stuck there. I've tried rebooting, pressing power and volumes but it didn't worked. The only thing that I managed to do was putting the device in "Power reset or Unknown upload mode" but that's it.
Now I want to know that if my device is bricked or something like that? If I connect it at my pc Odin recognize the com port but I don't really know what to do with it. I found a way that would solve this (removing the battery and putting it back) but given that it's a Galaxy Tab P1000 I can't do it very easly. I would appreciate any reply, I'm a little newbie about these thing so be a little bit detailed.

Hi All,
I have just recently bought a Korean SG II (M250S). On trying to root (actually trying to flash an insecure Kernel) the phone using ODIN (tried 1.85 as well as 1.83) I am running into a problem where if I connect my phone while its turned on then it is recognized by ODIN (Com port is displayed and all) but if I put my mobile is downloading mode then ODIN doesnt recognise it. I have tried everything and have read through the forums here on XDA as well but havent been able to find a solution to this problem. Help would be appreciated.
And before anyone asks, I have also tried killing Kies Tray Agent before running ODIN but still havent had any luck. Since the phone gets recognized by ODIN while its turned on (and also detected by Kies when its on) I am guessing its not a drivers issue but something else.
In the downloading mode it doesnt really say Downloading, rather some other characters (I am guessing Korean) are displayed. Is that normal for Korean SG II's ?
How to use ODIN.
Open Odin select file to flash.
Boot download mode .
At first screen press Vol up to proceed .
Connect usb cable
Flash via Odin start tab
jje
Thanks Buddy, the Vol up button did the trick.
I actually had a Galaxy S before this and in that I didnt have to press the Vol Up after going into Downloading Mode hence the confusion .
I was worried for a while that I was stuck with something that I could not root ...thanks a million.
I am new here so I dont know if this is the right section. I have a galaxy note i717 that was originally for at&t but it is unlocked. I tried to install clockworkmod using odin 1.85 with a tutorial I found online. Now when I turn it on it says Firmware upgrade encountered a issue. Please select recovery mode in kies and try again. I tried going into download mode by pressing the volume down and power button and then pressing volume up at the screen but I just get the same message. When I turn it on I feel a little vibration though so I dont think it is hard bricked but I dont know too much about this so please help. What I did is this.
enabled usb debugging and then rebooted the phone into download mode
connected it to odin 1.85 and selected pda, opened cwm-i717.tar.md5 and disabled auto restart and the other thing that was important to disable
clicked start, it said complete so I unplugged it and took out the battery and rebooted
and then I got this screen
after I did some research I downloaded a official tar.md5 for it that was like 700mb or somthing and tried to flash that
i couldn't go into download mode but i just connected it at the error screen, it showed up in odin and I said start, again making sure the right things were disabled, it said it flashed it fine and it passed. When I rebooted I got the exact same message as before.
please help, I have tried everything I could think of and I have been searching the internet for several hours and still havn't found anything. This is my first ever post on any forum so I'm sorry if it is in the wrong place. Thanks
Dear all.
First of all, thanks for your attention, I really appreciate.
I have a GNote 10.1 Wi-Fi version (N8013) with stock Android 4.1.
My S-Pen was getting me crazy, because I was not able to use it correctly on the edges of the device. I tried an app that supposed to reset the alignment, but I did not work, so I googled and found that the only way to fix it was "factory reseting" the tablet.
So, I installed the TeamWin recovery and backed up my data. After that I hit the button "reboot". But before rebooting, the recovery screen "told me" that I was not rooted and "asked" if I would like to install SuperSU to get root access. I checked YES and rebooted.
After that I got stucked at the "Samsung Galaxy Note" screen (see attached file).
I've tried to switch off the note, but the screen goes off for one second and it lights up again at the same screen.
If I plug the USB cable and try to switch it off, the note goes to the battery charging screen. If I remove the USB and push the power button again, the tablet gets back to the "Samsung Galaxy Note" screen.
Odin seems to "connect" with the tablet.
I can enter both the download mode and the recovery mode (not the teamwin recovery).
Attached pictures of what I get.
Any sugestions?
Thanks!!!
Everything is ok now
Dear all,
Hope I can help you if you have a problem similar to mine.
I remembered that a PC with no OS stops on some screen, but everything else works, just as what was happening with my note.
I tought that I might have wiped more things than I should, so, the only thing I had to do was to restore the backup that I had.
To do this I should reinstall the TWRP and the only way was via Odin.
Solved the problem this way:
1. Downloaded the Odin (http://techbeasts.com/2013/08/08/download-odin-pc-latest-version-v-3-07/)
2. Downloaded the TWRP file (http://techerrata.com/get/twrp2/p4noterf/openrecovery-twrp-2.6.1.0-p4notewifi.tar)
3. Connected the Galaxy Note to my PC using the USB cable
4. Entered the "download mode"
5. Loaded the file from step 2 into the tablet using Odin
6. Rebooted the tablet
7. Entered the recovery mode (TWRP was working)
8. Restored the backup that I had
9. Rebooted again
Did the dance of victory!!!
I am so glad to have my device back.
Regards

I see everyone suggesting odin and going into download mode... I can get to download mode but I am using a macbook pro, and there are very little options to use odin, I tried Jodin3... and Heimdall... no luck...

@ agelcer: Was your tablet rooted?
Hello. I havea similar problem with my note 2 phone. It will not get past the
samsung screen. My cpu knowledge is very limited. Are you open to accepting payment for attempting to fix my cell phone? All I want is the pictures off of it if that is all you can do to it. Pleass email me at [email protected] if you or anyone you know can help. Thanks....Jay
Same thing is happening to mine. I tried Odin but after the download the srceen goes black and then comes back to the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 screen.
Hello folks.
Same problem here with a n8000.
It had the stock unrooted rom probably JellyBean.
Can only access Download Mode, nothing else.
I get connection to Odin, tried to flash original firmware, 4 file firmware, re-partition with pit file, flash a custom recovery, all seem to pass through but nothing changes, still stuck on 'Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1' screen, never moves on to boot animation and still can't access Recovery Mode.
However, something else I triy with Odin and it FAILS is ticking 'Nand Erase All'. It won't let me erase nand.
Could this mean some kind of memory corruption?
Does it have anything to do with EMMC?
If it does, is there a possible way to fix without replacing the hardware?
What else can I try before giving up?
It would be nice if other users who report this problem attempt to Nand Erase All and see if it also FAILS..
Thanks alot and sorry for the long post.
Edit: after posting I found this which is PROBABLY THE SOLUTION for me.
And here is another topic on this issue.
did you find the solution?

I assumed from my searches the solution would be JTAG or replace the EMMC.
Since I don't have the resources for any of those, I just abandoned it to the dust and rust..
bootloader
Is this after the boot loader is updated?

I'm not very clear about bootloader upgrading, but I guess it was included in the 4 file firmware I tried flashing and it said 'success' but nothing changed..
I think it ain't just a softbrick since I can't erase nand..
What's your background, osirisx69?
This happened to ours as well just today. Unplugged it rebooted it and it's stuck. Can only access the Odin mode.

Hello everyone, it's with a great thrill that I found a couple of days back the existance of the beautiful wackyrom available on your forum.
After considering it I took willingly the risk of installing it... and following all indications of flashing cwm via odin and wiping all for of data in the proper oder, I got myself stuck in a pretty unpleasant situation : CMW recovery loop. I tried to start from scratch again and again and I even tried to go back on the stock firmware (which wasn't the original french one installed on my phone but a foreign one). I know I may have made a newbie mistake, but seeing the strength of your helping community Im hoping to revive what now looks more to me like a brick phone than ever. In advance, I thank all attention and anwsers to my case.

Flash this Stock recovery via odin : http://d-h.st/hcA
Instruction:
1) Put phone in download mode by powering off ,home button and volume down while plugging the phone into the computer(if don't and don't understand search google their are many guides and videos for it)
2) You should now see the first square in Odin turn yellow and say "Ready"
3) Click on the pda tab in Odin and select the Stock_Recovery_GT-I8552.tar you downloaded
4) Click start and wait for your phone to reboot
5) Done!
Well, I should have added that to the list of things that I have tried before. The only divergence to your methode is the fact that the keys to force start the downloading mode does not work so I only can acces it thrue a restart in downloading mode within CWM...
I have wiped all pilots/kies traces off my computer, checked rooting of the phone using kingo android root, reinstall my drivers from scratch and yet Odin still dont recognise it.. Does anyone have a clue?

I also have the same problem. I have read all threads from google about this matter, that say flash rom, clear whatever2, blaz bla
BUT, still for 3 days I cant fix it. when it stuck in boot looping or turn off, odin didnt recognise my phone
Dear friends,
Install Samsung kies and it will install all the proper drivers for your phone.
Then use another port of your pc or laptop to connect with odin.
If changing your pc ports doesn't work then try to install kies on another pc perhaps.
After the phone gets connected to pc follow @lols21.10 instructions.
Worth a try.

Also: if Odin don't recognize your phone, try to change your usb cable
Changing PCs worked for me a while back.
not working

not either. because my phone need to be turned on in normal mode when connect to my pc, then i need to choose the usb option whether to transfer files/camera/charging.
and only then Odin say "ready"
Do this: put your device in download mode and then you reflash firmware with Odin.
You can do this by turning your phone on pressing the buttons HOME, POWER and VOL DOWN. When your phone vibrates, release POWER and keep pressing ther other two. A screen with a warning will appear, and you press VOL UP to confirm. After that, you open Odin, plug your phone on computer and select the stock firmware by clicking on button "PDA" at Odin. And then it is just start and wait.
Same Problem
my samsung grand quattro get stuck at cwm too.. it keep booting to recovery mode when phone start up, I cant connect to Odin because I cant access to debugging setting.. HELP PLEASE :crying:
So here is what happened.
I have a Samsung S3 i9300 with android jellybean (4.3). I wanted to play Pokemon GO real bad (damn me ! ) so I tried rooting my phone and upgrading it to 4.4.
I used the kingoroot from PC and successfully rooted my phone. Then i downloaded the TWRP manager app in my phone and went to install recovery (i have no idea what that is but i went as per instructions given on TWRP website), chose my device, the latest image available and then selected "install". It ran and then gave me a pop up that it is not successful because either the image is not for my device or my phone's "something" is locked (i don't exactly remember what it was.. but i searched and found out that Samsung galaxy S3 i9300 has "that" feature always unlocked). Then it gave me an option to "Reboot Now" and i chose that, which hanged my phone. I pressed the home button and it went to the home page and the phone was working OK besides the TWRP manager app which was stuck. So what I did was that I restart my phone using the power button. My phone restarted and then I got a black screen and the LED which indicates the charging status was blue (with changing shades), It got me worried so I took out the battery. When i put it again it was DEAD
I tried the soft reset, hard reset but no luck.
When i connect it to my PC it does give that connected sound but nothing else.
same thing i also ttied to play pokemon go
Tomorrow i will try to use a jig mayba that can help me to get in to download mode
