I don't think anyone has done any new fixes for 4.3 conversion, as there's really not much point anymore. Some of the old fixes might still work, but you're probably better off converting back. Is there a particular ROM you want that hasn't been ported? If not, what's your reason to stay converted?

There are plenty of 4.3 ROM available for non converted devices which are non stock, and which yield excellent battery life. I recommend you try some of them before dismissing them.

I saw this and I figured I'd jump in, I'm also converted and I'm wondering about a GPS fix- I've easily applied the fixes for Ext SD, Cap Keys, etc, however GPS seems to aloud me- I can't find a way to make it work in a normal fashion, Maybe if I'd give it like a long time it would work but then what's the point?
So, I was wondering, what was a way that worked for you to make GPS work?
Additionally, I will say that in all my time doing android (hasn't been long, but I've gone through at least 7-8 devices including most of the flagships) I've never seen any version of CM run as smooth and stable as a stock nexus 4, but that's just me- I like roms who work fairly quickly out of the box, not ones where you have to keep putting out fires and fixing stuff.
Anyway, regarding my question- any idea how to "fix" GPS?
Most of the experienced users and developers do not approve of the n4 conversion and a lot of us explicitly refuse to support it. So convert back, you should have just been patient and waited the wee bit of time it took to get aosp roms on here without converting.

Is that so? A developer's website which doesn't support developing? How wonderfully condescending of you!
Couple of things:
First off, I just did this conversion, after having being annoyed with the optimus UI in my optimus g which I procured from ebay at a wonderful price of 170$ for a mint in box price. I figured converting to a nexus 4 would simply grant me a wonderful stock rom to use, much like Galaxy S4 use flash the GPe rom for their own use.
The fact that this very simple process (honestly, just use the tot file provided in LGNPST, god almighty, it's child's play! only ODIN is easier than this!) is not supported in my eyes just goes to show the truly awful state in which we found ourselves in- Instead of exploring new avenues, we fear advancement and change and are told to "stick to our pre-approved roms".
Well sir, perhaps I'm not your idea of an "experienced user" but I will not be kow-towed! I'll just figure this out on my own, as I did with most things I needed to figure out while helping my friends with their android devices for the last couple of years.
Not to bash the devs of course, they offer us choice and we choose to put our heads in the sand.
In any case, have a wonderful day, let me know of anything else you don't approve of so I can immediately remove it from my life-

You're completely missing the point. It wasn't about being condescending at all, but to inform the user that no one with E970s are working on the converted version anymore, as you can run the ASOP perfectly fine "natively". So, since all development is going into working with the latest releases on non-converted E970, why should we recommend N4 converting your E970?? No one will help you should anything go wrong.
That's not being condescending, just a statement of facts. Sorry.
This issue could be avoided if people would just do a bit more reading before jumping into the conversion. I agree there is no real point to convert anymore.

Something is off about you. I informed you of by far the path of least resistance to put 4.3 on your phone. Instead you suggest I am kowtowing you. That doesn't make any sense.

The conversion was a hack released against the wishes of those who discovered it, then left unsupported. Dvhexer released some patches until 4.1 update made the whole thing pointless. If you convert your phone so you can feel like a rebel that's fine, but it will be pointed out how silly it is if support is asked for.

Has anyone tried porting the stock, rooted, or otherwise Rom from the Nexus 4?
If no one has I will give it a shot. The two phones aren't all that different ours has the LTE on the chip set activated but I believe they have basically the same Qualcomm chip set.
Also if anyone knows more about it than I do feel free to inform me. I'm always up for a hacking adventure but I don't want to start something I'll never be able to finish.

I believe I've found a sort of attempt at what I'm looking to do.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2099784
This essentially turns the phone into a Nexus 4 so that essentially the firmware is tricked into thinking that our phone is the Nexus 4. It appears as if in order to put vanilla android on here I'll need to take pieces of this hack, and sort of finish it. Like getting the Capacitive buttons working, which will require a bit of kernel hacking. It appears as if reflashing the modem, which I think after I take apart the original firmware I can sort of shove in there, will fix the LTE, so says the post, and the issue of the SD card. This method may be more intensive than is necessary. However it's looking like this is all I've got to work with as of right now.
I'm going to try and make a Rom that's still ICS and as close to Vanilla as is possible, then I'll give moving it up to Jelly Bean a shot. Also this may take a while as I am in college, and I've only got a small amount of experience so this will sort of be a learning experience for me.
Also I'm not too familiar with using IRC. I'm used to doing stuff on my own. For my original Android phone, the HTC Inspire. The dev community over there was awesome, they're probably still going, but I'm more used to taking a base like CM 9 or CM 10 nightlies and making them my own for my phone. So this will be a hacking adventure. A hackventure if you will.

Any idea on when at&t LG optimus g will be getting the 4.1.2 update? Or even just a 4.1 jellybean. I'm guessing it'll be 4.1.2. Since sprints version just got. Also I'm guessing this is why this device. Doesn't have so many. Roms as of yet.. maybe everyone is just waiting for. A. Ota. Jellybean
noone knows when AT&T will roll out the jelly bean update. there are some jelly bean roms in development section you can try out.
Yeah I'm so eager to try it out but I just got my phone yesterday lol I'm.probably gonna wait alil bit til I root and rom my phone
I'm waiting for keylime pie.

What I ment was I'm guessing the devs for this device are waiting for the jellybean update. That's why there's not to many roms,I'm sure once jellybean hits this device everyone will start making roms. There's really no point in making roms since its on 4.0.4 make a rom jellybean hits then devs have to rebase and remake there whole rom so might as well wait.. hopefully its true though chus this is a really nice device to not have any support/roms

Stop whining about AT&T and do something about it. As in, try the Original Android Development forum. We have AOSP, AOKP, and CM10.1 mostly functional. I agree some more ROMs would be neat, but really, what are you so desperate for?
That said, I have an honest question: Aside from maybe PA, what are we still missing out on ROM-wise? 30 reskins of AOKP?
Edit: Sorry about the tone, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who's sick of seeing this thread over and over again. Official 4.1.2 will come when it comes, but why not run an 80% functional 4.2.2 today?

X2. There's a fully functioning 4.1.2 that SnowLeopardJB created, in addition to the ones mentioned above. The 4.2.3 roms don't have fully functioning GPS or camera, but they will have them shortly. Synergye's created an AOSP rom, that's using the latest Android developments, that will put this device ahead of the N4, once the quirks are worked out. Reskins aren't ROM's, so leaving that nuance out, what ROM are you looking for that you can't run today?
One addition: If you bought this phone thinking that AT&T was going to support it, you didn't do your research. Apple and Samsung are the only devices that receive any support from AT&T. That's because the former does it's own device support and the latter has enough market share that they can enforce their will on AT&T.

yes i have. i have jelly bean on my LGOG right now and it is fully functional. you're saying there's no support or roms out for this device when that just isnt true. there's even a 4.2.2 rom out that can do everything except camera and GPS. and those will be fixed soon. so what i'm saying is if you say there's little support then you just arent seeing everything in this forum that is out. if you refuse to flash jelly bean on your phone right now then that's the choice you make to stick with ICS. you have the chance to get jelly bean on your LGOG right now, you're just deciding not to.

That was the core of my question. AOSP, AOKP, CM10.1, and ParanoidAndroid are the only major ROMs I've heard of, and we have all but the last one. This is my first Android device, so I wasn't sure if there was really something big we were still missing.
As for why this phone if I knew AT&T sucked? I needed a new phone when there was still no idea when the Nexus 4 would come back in stock, so I got what was thought to be the next best thing. Honestly, with AOSP, this will be even better than the N4 once the GPS and camera are working.
And I can always convert a year down the road when everyone moves on.

Commandments? Are you referring to the Bill of Rights? You do know that that same freedom of speech is also extended to anyone who wants to say you are whining, right?
Anyway, enough of the childish back and forth. As stated myriad times in this forum, as is usually the case, no one knows for sure when we'll get JB from AT&T. We have some great devs working on giving us fully functional CM, AOKP and CFX. Patience is a virtue, and we'll be getting some more love soon.
In the meantime, what's missing from the stock experience? You want Google Now? You can get it. Other than that it's just as smooth as JB.

But when you're opinion is wrong, then that would be considered either a) not knowledgable of the facts, or b) whining...as others have said, if you want 10 different versions of AOSP or CM10.1, or 15 versions of the current kernel, then this may not be the phone for you. I could say that my opinion is that the sky is red, but just because I've stated that's my opinion doesn't make it correct. The current version of JB on this device works 100% and is smooth as any phone I've ever used...ever (and I've had all the latest and greatest). You never answered someone's earlier question...what is it exactly that you want that is not being offered at this time?
You may be new to the phone, but you're not new to the forums. So I'm hoping within the last ~2.5 years you've noticed that there's a search feature. Considering this phone has been out for 5-6 months?, correct me if I'm wrong, this question was bound to be asked several times. If you don't want people complaining about your complaining, then it's advised to look through the forums. Feel free to be ungrateful for what the devs of this community has given us, but it's not like you've made anything. If you're in such a hurry, build a rom yourself.
Which would be your preference? I have a trade option to 16 gb nexus 4 for my E970 with 32 gb.
I don't care much for drop in storage but wanted to see what you guys think if this is a good idea. Lack of LTE concerns me a bit as I have LTE in my town and around but hoping to be able to adjust with that.

I keep hearing a thing or two don't work 100% after N4 conversion. Modem issues, GPS issues or Camera, occasional Calls drop etc.
Why is N4 conversion still an unsupported mod as far as senior devs in the forum?
To get 100% pure google and 100% working, if the conversion works, I'll go down that route as well.

Everything is working perfectly for me on the latest PA. Camera, LTE, GPS, internal / external SD, NFC, etc etc. I'd say give the N4 conversion a try. Chances are, the guy you're doing the trade with is going for the N4 conversion lol. I was dead set against it until the 16gb internal was fixed. Since that's been done, I'm definitely loving my LGOG more than I did before.

Im on converted and 100% working. Gps, LTE, NFC, 16gb + 64gb ext, no FC, no reboots, good battery life, etc.
I respect the original dev for LGOP but they are months behind the converted in features, bugs, etc. Maybe when they catch up I'll go back to unconverted.
I recommend the modded CM 10.1 found in LGOP Dev forum.

Conversion works great but for whatever reason the few devs hate it and will not support it. I have been running the conversion since day 1 and my phone still working great, I have my partitions backed up just in case but I have never used them anyway.
I agree original dev for the lgog is way behind because they choose to not support the future(N4 conversion).
Mark my words: When key lime pie drops guess which dev side will run it first? N4 conversion of course... by that time all the original devs would have moved on... they probably already did as I'm yet to see 100% fully working rom on the original section...
Ultimately do what you want since you were the one that paid for the phone and you are entitled to do whatever you please with it. Dont let poeple scare you about the conversion as it is the best option available for us.

So once we are converted to N4. What are the other Mod(s) you did for everything to work (Stock n4 Not CM or other)? Just curious... or may be I will take a plunge today. Also can you please let us know if we need to do any other backup;s other than our Personal data like Partitions etc... Not new to Flashing or Rom Dev.. But its just so many threads in here in the dev area.. Just want to save some time and bricks.
It would be really helpful if you can link them... Like n4, Then do this Link and then etc etc.. This way other's can also use this info.
In no way I'm asking to spoon feed.. It's just I searched around and its all over the place. If you or any other person help create a new post with simple instructions that would be great. Again if you guy's are busy or don't want to create its OK too.
At the outset thanks a lot.

I agree with you... It would be nice to have a compilation thread with links to all the separate mod threads. I was actually thinking about making such a thread but I haven't had the time yet, and I'm not sure I have a good enough handle on all the little details yet to get it right.

Well, I was contemplating a compilation thread that would include links and summaries of the various threads in the dev forum. A one-stop-shop type of deal. Of course this would require a significant amount of thread maintenance, which I can't guarantee I'll have time for...

Without a doubt keep the converted OG. There's no good reason not to tbh.
I would love to do the stable conversion, but I tried twice last night and got stuck at Nexus boot logo. I did fastboot -w many times but it was always getting stuck there. Plus my recovery started asking me for password etc, (weird). I did lgnpst and am back to 100% stock and Bootloader locked, no root etc.

That's Exactly what I meant. The only Reason I asked was.... there are so many small tiny mod(s) which can be applied on some and cannot be on something else.
E.g.
A complete guide for N4 Conversion...
Prerequisites.
Should be rooted
Backups:
1.Backup using Titanium backup all you personal data including Call logs,SMS. etc etc.
2. Backup your current partitions.
3. Other Stuff like (It can be any thing) Pics... Or through CWM complete Nand backup.
Now the Actual Stuff
Steps:
1. Go to this thread <Link here> and follow the steps. (Now your phone is N4 Converted)
2. Flash This version of CWM using this thread <Link here>
3. Now you have 8GB N4. To make it 16GB Go to this <Link> and Follow the steps.
4. Now you have N4 With 16GB but your Radio Still sucks (No LTE + APN's etc) cos you need At&T radio .. Go to this <Link> and Flash this to get At&T modem
5. Now you have everything But... Now of the captivate buttons works.. So flash this <Link>
NOW you have completely converted LGOG to N4
For Custom Rom
Go to this <LInk>
To Revert back to original LGOG:
1. Run this <Link> Lgpnst
2. Get back your OLD partitions (E.g. This Link)
Etc etc.
it would be good.. If someone who has done it successfully and have "EVERYTHING WORKING" Fill in the blanks.

When I converted, I did not flash a new radio. I've never flashed a radio on this device (besides the one that comes with the N4 conversion). All I had to do was change the APN to ATT LTE and now I have LTE and GPS.
The new Jelly Bean radio for the optimus G is supposed to fixed with dropped calls in an LTE area. Check it out, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39899645&postcount=429

The conversion is nice and its fun because I've learned a lot, but the reason I got this phone was because of the bonuses over the N4 and service is way better.
As for the devs being pissed, I don't blame them because as you can see, this community is dead. There is nothing to do for this phone when the conversion is complete. No LG Optimus G development, no LG Optimus G Roms or mods; ports, hacks or app hacks(yes i used a super comma).Where do you have to go? The N4 community; for N4 hacks and ROMs and mods and so on, so this community suffers more and more. Its like CM10.1 being the only ROM available and everyone modding it the same way over and over.
This phone is better in every way than the N4, even with the exception of AOSP. I think of the conversion like this, why buy the Nissan skyline and turn around to make it look like a Nissan maxima. But like I said, the conversion is fun, and you learn a lot.
My 2¢…keep your LGOG no matter what kind of crappy development the community has now, it will take off.………Hopefully!

Just got the OTA update popup. Have looked around and it seems like user impressions are generally pretty favorable so far.
Aside from the update breaking root access (I'm staying stock, so not a deal-breaker for me), has anyone found any fatal flaws (app incompatibility, data loss/corruption, etc.) that might be a reason to NOT install the update?
Right now, there is a work around the b loader to gain root. If u take the update, you winn not be able to root as u know.
That might not mean much to you right now. But let's say you see something like the expanded mini menu, and you want it. Well, you won't be able to root and install Xposed.apk after taking the ota until an exploit is discovered.
Leave the update to the rubes who are less then passionate about the freedom we have or ota.
Btw, apps to sd is any able to move the apk to sd but not the working app and it's data.
See below the pick of the expanded mini menu...

Lag reduction wasn't thst noticeable but the improvement is there. Smearing is gone which is good. Notification bar has a new affect I like. Few new icons. I like it but not enough to take the OTA on my AT&T S4. Still running MDL on that one.

As much as I do want to see these improvements, I'm not willing to lose the ability to root and flash new roms. Here is to hoping a workaround is found soon.
Many thanks for all the responses. I did root my last phone and enjoyed the freedoms that brought. Would like to eventually root this phone, and I'm hoping that when I'm ready to do it there'll be a solution available for me, but if not it won't be the end of the world.
What I didn't want to do was the worst of both worlds: Apply the OTA and hate it, AND not be able to root.
Sounds like I won't end up in that spot, so I'll give it a shot.

Most people figure out by around the second grade that different people place different values on different things. One example of this is that there are about a zillion versions of Android and a zillion different versions of Android phones to use them on.
Right now, what I value is a stock S4. You value the phone differently. We can both have what we want. Isn't that nice?
You learned something today. Hooray!

I think its hilarious that people come to XDA to talk about a stock android device.... If you want a stock android device on Verizon, Verizon has a website dedicated to the S4 its various updates... The fact that your here asking root developers if you should go stock is frankly ridiculous. I'm sorry if you don't like the answers your being given but if you don't want or need ROOT, why are you here?

I am here because there are very knowledgable people here who push their devices to the limit. Many of these people also have friends or spouses with the same hardware but still in a stock configuration, and thus are in tune with the quirks in the stock software. Indeed, I got two helpful responses, so that alone justifies my asking the question here. Besides, there are plenty of questions on this general Q&A forum that have nothing to do with android development. "What case are you using?" "What extended battery is best?" Etc.
I rooted my last device and ran a variety of custom roms on it for almost two years. There were pros and cons to that experience. I expect that one day, if rooting my S4 is an option, I will want to do that, but I'm not ready to do it yet.
Is that really such a bizarre and alien situation that no one could possibly comprehend it? What is there about it that deserves derision or insult?

It's not bizarre or alien. Just an odd place to ask the question. The fact remains, you are on one of the websites that pioneered root access and spawned countless custom ROM's, Mods and Apps. You come to this website to discuss how you don't need root and are going stock and have no need of root & then you don't like the answers that the very same people who value root and push the limit of their phones give. If it were any other "development website" or chat channel you would be banned as a troll and no one would waste anymore time than they already have.
Hey guys, legitimate question here. It seems that there is no development being done for this and other of the 2015 flagships. Am I missing something?
Imo phone is solid out of the box. I have a 6p to mess around with.

What "development" do you expect? With Xposed and a plethora of modules, there really is no need for specialized custom ROMs. All you need is a rock-solid base and off you go. You can even theme everything in the phone with the LG Apps Theme Engine.

I used hyperbole. The fact remains that reaching out to devs directly will have far more effect than posting threads here.
It's not like they'll magically swoop in here and say "Oh guys, so sorry we haven't made anything for your phone yet, we'll get right on it!"
If you want to see action, post on Cyanogen's forum, open a github issue, or PM/mention devs who developed for LG phones in the past to see what their opinion is.
I can understand wanting to flash ROMs and such, it can definitely be fun, and it's good to have alternatives. But maybe i'm getting old, but i'm a bit tired of it nowadays: the bootloops, certain things not working, having to start over, the time wasted, missing phone calls from your girlfriend because you bootlooped and are constantly booted in recovery lmao. I think OEMs have come a long way since the early days of Android, so i'm usually good with rooted stock now, or a deodexed version. This phone already runs pretty great out of the box, so maybe try and enjoy it as it was made to be. And for sure with the Tmo model rootable, there's xposed, tweakbox, etc. But i definitely understand, OP, even flagship phones don't necessarily have as many custom ROMs as they used to.
The V10 is an awesome phone... But specialty development (cyanogen mod, AOSP) is going off a bit... First off development doesn't just happen... This is a brand new phone model, and although it uses a lot of the G4's hardware, there are a lot of differences, second screen being the biggest, also, t-mobiles version is currently the only one world wide with root access. Further hurting our chances. As for other flagship models, carriers and manufacturers, have been making it harder to root and modify phones... Which has been scaring development away... (why buy a phone you may never be able to modify?) if you want phones with a ton of options for development, I suggest you stick to either nexus devices, and /or something similar to the S series phones... That gets a ton of development... Plain and simple, T-Mobile is the only carrier on earth that doesn't care what you do to your phone. And from a development standpoint, this phone has only been out a little over 2 months, and currently has one model world wide with root access so unless someone Crack the bootloader on other models, or systemless root access becomes a reality with marshmallow, it's probably going to be a slow go... If you really want CM on your V10, (not sure why when you can strip this down to bare bones) you could build us all a rom... Seeing as you believe it's so easy...

Plus I'd say nowadays in many cases, you lose more than you gain by erasing the software that skilled professionals have developed for your phone. Like you said, those guys good lol. Maybe carriers and/or other corporate/financial concerns might dumb things down or limit features, but root can be plenty enough to open things up for savvy users.

I agree. Outside of Nexus devices I found that Cyanogen has never had proper quality control and the maintainers do whatever they want. Random things are constantly broken and are never acknowledged or fixed. You never know whether a new nightly would fix things or just break things more, even if you followed the commit logs. It's certainly more of an enthusiast's endeavor rather than a rock-solid daily driver OS.
Then there is the garbage camera image quality on non-Nexus phones - the proprietary image processing libraries and other stuff from stock ROMs are just unrivaled and Cyanogen has never been able to match stock camera quality.
I found that especially in the last year or so, stock ROMs have really become robust and polished and I simply do not need to flash Cyanogen anymore to "unsuck" my phone. Root and Xposed are enough to clean up and customize the stock ROM the way I like it and make my phone perfect.

LOL! Well, if I knew how to code, I could do it, but I don't... so yeah. Unless adding the support is simpler than recoding a bunch of APKs?
While more development is always great, I'm very happy with debloated and deodexed stock-based ROMs for the V10. @siraltus has done good work, and that's really all I need, the ability to root, run Xposed and be free from bloatware. I'm sort of over Cyanogenmod in terms of actually flashing it myself. The importance of CM in the history of Android can't be overstated, but for a device with such specialized hardware as the V10 (secondary display, DAC/Amp, etc.), I don't think CM would ever be as good as a stock-based ROM.
I even prefer a stock theme nowadays.... At least it's consistent throughout the system, and I know I'll be able to read any and all text on my phone lol.
