Hi all!
I'm testing recoveries in my P760 with unlocked bootloader.
I've tried CWM: 6.0.3.1, 6.0.3.5 and 6.0.4.4.
When using dupe format the restore procedure always fails.
I'd like to know if there's a especial way for doing it work (dedupe format).
Thanks in advance.
Cheers.
Good luck.

There's no reason to use that format. Just use the tar format and you should be fine.

Hi Nathan.7118391, the reason to use that format is that it's an incremental backup (its size will be so small)
Thanks for your help.
Cheers.

Well the first part is pretty small but the second part is where the bulk of the backup is coming from. I think both formats will use a lot of space unfortunately.

Anyway, I've tried it with a lot of CWM recoveries but to no avail (when restoring system it fails).
Any help?

Sorry but I have no suggestion other than using the tar format. The priority is to have an emergency backup when you need it. Good luck

Hi Ilxaot, I'll try it this weekend.
My backups are very big, so, I'd like to use dedupe format. (I like trying and understanding as much as possible, also)
Do you use the dedupe format with success when restoring?
If yes, witch recovery version do you use?
(Edited: sorry, I've just remembered that your bootloader is locked, so your recovery must be the artas182x's one installed by L9_Recovery_Installer_1.5.0.0. apk.)
Thank you very much for your answer.
Cheers. Good luck.

Hey buddy, still nothing huh? Well I tell you this. . .using the (dup) way is not reliable. you have two files 1. system and 2. blobs. You are right the 1 is small but your 2 is very large. I don't know what you are exactly talking about because you need over 450mb of data to get your phone running again so the dup is 450mb (as an example) and the tar format is 450mb as well. No matter what format you use it's still going to use that amount of space. Whether it be at once 450mb or two files (25mb) and (425mb). Either way you still need the full 450mb to load the full ROM. Again the 450mb is only an example of the amount of data you need for your ROM.

Hi Nathan.7118391, I've been reading about this relatively "new" backup format here: https://plus.google.com/app/basic/stream/z120svthiofpuz23m22uy32wrue2v3l25 it seems to me that the dupe format is not yet what it could be, there are lots of problems reported, most of the people unhappy and willing the old tar format.
I'll have to wait for a good incremental recovery (presumably, long time).
The idea was very good, but, at the moment, doesn't work fine seemingly.
Thank you for your interest and for your advice.
Cheers. Good luck.

OUTDATED. Do not use this program even if you somehow find a working link. The GSM RAZR Utility will simply brick everyone since its the old Secure Version.

wont be able to check it out until tomorrow.
Thanks for posting it.

Can i FIX a locked razr
Can i boot up my razr again if I "brick" looked my device?
And with that I mean, everything is removed and I can just boot in the original recovery/ download-mode without first install Bootstrap Recovery app :S
I just rooted my droid razr and use this tool. Then I install the voodoo root keeper app, and then did the update (settings-about phone-system update) and re-root with voodoo app. Now I’m up to date. It’s awesome
I have the prepaid optimus l9 from T-Mobile, and have rooted it and deleted several of the bloatware apps. How can I return this phone to its out of the box state, as in unrooted and with bloat intact? I am not returning the phone, if that helps, but I am giving it to a parent, and want the OTA updates to work properly for them.

Hey guys. I am not from around here. You will normally find me hanging out in the Nexus forums. I need some help trying to correct an issue my noob buddy caused on his E970. He brought it to me today in a boot loop and apparently he rooted it an uninstalled some GAPPS and now he has this security error and BL. Now, so far I have managed to install the drivers..... that's it. I have worked on a variety of different devices but I am really having trouble with this. I think the issue is I can not find a thread that is comprehensive enough to explain what alot of the different tools are and what they do. I mean there is
1. LGNPST
2. Teenybin
3. Freegee or something like that
Then there about 14 different file types depending on the tool you are using. I have seen;
1. dll
2. bin
3. kdz
4. tot
I have to be honest with you guys this is confusing as hell. I keep coming across dead links and old downloads and stuff that may not work. I REALLY don't like using stuff not linked from XDA as that is all I've known for many years (not to say other sites aren't reputable but you never know) I can follow instructions and figure out most stuff on my own but due to the in completion of alot of this stuff and dead links I am kinda stuck I am gonna give it another go tomorrow but in the meantime if someone wants to drop me a link or word of advice as to where to at least start it would be awesome. I am pretty handy generally with this kind of thing but I guess that goes to show you sometimes you are only as good as the tools and directions you are working with. Thanks XDA Community! :good:
Okay the first three.
3.lgnpst is the program you will need to use to fix the security error which was caused by removing bloat without unlocking bootloader.
2.teenybin is used with lgnpst to unlock bootloader, update partitions to jb, and install recovery. It doesn't install firmware but could be used to restore if a rom was copied to sd to flash.
3.freegee is used to unlock bootloader and install recovery on a working phone.
Next four.
1.dll are files needed by windows.
2.bin is the extension the file needs to be for using lgnpst.
3.kdz is stock firmware for use with lgflashtool (used mainly for international phones)
4.tot is the extension the stock firmware is released with which will be renamed to bin before using lgnpst.
In the additional info section of teenbin thread there is a click to show content button that will have have links and guide for lgnpst. Use the tSilenzio version and it will register the DLL files on install.

Thank you. This is exactly what I needed. Someone just to say "these are what these things are and what they do". I do have to admit I don't fault my buddy too much for soft bricking this thing as of all the devices I've rooted or flashed to this seems the most confusing. And also it's very odd that if you remove BW without first unlocking the bootloader you get this error..... Why can't they all just be as easy as a Nexus? Lol.

Well its especially difficult when someone just brings you a phone and you've never even seen it booted up and you don't know all the weird quirky rules it has (like if you uninstall GAPPS without unlocking the bootloader then you get a bootloop.) lol Otherwise it seems like a solid phone. It has almost the same specs as my Nexus 4.

This link is for a flashable zip of rooted stock jb. If you used the teenybin files with lgnpst then flashed it with recovery the end result would be stock rom with unlocked bootloader, root, and custom recovery.

Yes, once you're unlocked & rooted you will be good to go. I would recommend flashing an established rom and installing the GApps that are recommended. It would be a lot more convenient and less of a hassle.
Make sure you are using TWRP, CWM was causing bugs with flashing of some roms. Hope this helps.

Awesome and once I've flashed a good rom. Would that then circumvent any future boatloads caused by modifications etc.? So in other words are those proprietary (catches) cooked out when the devs set up a rom? I would imagine so. I know most of us folks hate that kinda thing... Lol
BTW any tips on a good solid stable Jelly Bean Rom? Would want it to be pretty stable since it's not my phone... Lol

Actually my daughter have a nabijr 4gb and I did a mess with it.:crying:
I need the factory rom , if anybody can help me I will appreciate.
In Need of Stock Rom installable on TWRP or Stock Recovery for Nabi Jr 4GB edition.
I see support for the 16GB but is there any support for the 4GB, I did a factory reset one day for my kid then next thing you know it did not boot, come to find out the update that I downloaded from the website was corrupted and it installed a corrupted rom. I tried searching everywhere and there just not seem to be any hope in finding a stock rom with the Nabi Jr 4GB edition. Not everybody has the expensive 16gb or dream tab or even Nabi 2. Please someone, help.
I don't mean to resurrect this, but if ANYONE has a stock rom for the 4GB I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm unable to update for some reason and this is the only thing I can think to do. I've done everything else.

Great work, I hope it might help some unexperienced users!
@Lanchon, thank you for the awesome work and support for the SGS2.
Regards.
@Lanchon I think I asked this in the cm13 thread, but this can still be used on a S2 gt-9100 on cm12.1 in preparation for switching to cm13?

the only requirement is that you are running twrp. doesnt matter which os.
@Lanchon
Great that you finished your testing and published your script. I was courious already from the day you first announced to work on it. Would have loved such an easy way back then, when I repitted my two i9100 phones.
And as it seems to be 100% Noob-friendly, they will love it, too.
Once more: amazing work! Thank you in the name of all here, that now can simply link to your scripts instead of answering million questions about how to pit.

Nice one @Lanchon thank you for the great tool! Though I'm used to repart my i9100 over Odin. This will make a lot more easier since no need for triangleaway for this one.
I would just like to suggest to give us an option for reverting to stock partition or is "lanchon-repit-v0.1-sys1GB-i9100.zip" the stock one?
Keep the updates coming! Though our i9100 is already 5 years old already, MM OS still works because of your consistent support and contribution with the CM team.
I really want to test can you attach stock pit I'm still on custom pitted by Odin

thanks. stock is not very useful. you can switch among 4GB and 6GB data to test.
Very nice, but putting the zip in tmp and wiping all the partitions was the only way make this script work. No way from externalSD for me.

thank you! stock is not very useful and i really have very little time. v0.1 is released just to help people through their upgrade to CM13. i don't want to proliferate files for each and every taste, that's not the proper solution. i rather do it the right way.

thanks. why would wiping be "the only way" and why there would be "no way" to run from external sd?? there was a VERY detailed log that explained what went wrong if anything. without that info the "no ways" don't really help in any way. and which script and what were you trying to do in the first place?? you don't even say that. i can tell you there was definitely "yes way" the tool would run without wiping all partitions. maybe you had some corruption in one of the partitions, who knows without the log.

Coming from markox 12.1 ROM then full wipe and install AICP MM ROM, gapps, and recovery-Lanchon-Isorec-CM-6.0.5.1. To my surprise my /data is back to 2 GB so I rebooed to recovery and flashed lanchon-repit-v0.1-sys1GB-data4GB-i9100.zip but there's an error:
info: checking tool: parted
info: checking tool: blockdev
FATAL: required tool missing: blockdev

Sorry, no log, at 3am (time of flash) i wasn't totally lucid. For the external sdcard it was about the mount point of the card (common busy error). Without full wipe I remember a loop while polling system partition to read partition info, maybe related to a corrupted FS, because I recently got some reboot while tweaking the phone.
Hi!
Lanchon, first: thank you so much for this great effort!
I was always thinking about how it must be possible to resize partitions instead of just wiping them and start from scratch. But I was lacking the deeper knowledge to realize such a thing without losing data / messing up my phone.
I have a question though: I formatted my sdcard with ext4 a while ago.
Does your tool take care of this?
Thanks!
Hi @Lanchon thank you for this, this will save a great deal of effort. One question, do I untick 'Only mount system read-only' box or does that not matter?
