Wakelock detector is a nice app to see what wakes your device up when the screen is off. The seconds on the right side are for how long does the app uses the CPU. Low numbers are good.
At the top you the red bar should also be low.
Are the (x?) On the right side how much the app opens up ? Should that be low ?
I greenified fotmob btw , are all these apps using alot of my battery?

x is the number of times of wakelock was acquired,
It does not matter much, according to my experiments the wakelock time is more important..
"how does wakelock detector work"
Excatly my Question too....is there any tutorial by youtube?

No tutorial that I am aware of....yet.
However, just to summarize everything that has already been said; Wakelock detects which apps use the CPU, how many times and for how long. Thereby informing the user of apps and their perceived battery usage.
The most important measurement for people looking to increase or better said, 'stretch' their battery, is the time measurement. Higher numbers mean the device is being kept awake longer by said application.
Quanitity matters too in that, a high amount of times (x) could signal a bad app or something malicious within the app. However, it might just provide metrics for your usage/behavior. AKA, you spend too much time on Facebook

Ok so I did the battery boost thing on one of the threads, which says that you only lose 0-1 % per 9 hours on CM 6.1.3 by wolfbreak
When I did that true to its claims it gave me that long battery life but now I see that my battery is draining quickly again
did this happen to anyone else before?

this may not work on others. its just posted to share. its not 100% that ur battery will improve. re-flash the rom n dun try the thing again...or u can try again...if u wan.
Have you installed something after those ''tweaks'' that stays open in the background?
Just some games but no major programs
probably the autokiller settings are too aggressive, and because your apps (widgets maybe?) are being killed and trying to reopen constantly this is actually in effect draining your battery

Some games caused for me battery drain. So try looking with some kind of app (don't know name anymore) which one uses the most battery when on background.

Apps won't reopen if you do nothing and closed them. So it will not cause battery drain. (And if they open without using them it maybe because it sheduled or you pressed a app that made it open)

yes they will.....
Say if you have a calendar widget or beautiful widgets, etc...
Or apps that are set to be persistent
With aggressive autokiller settings, these maybe being closed and constantly reopening
It was on disabled

In theory yes. But in most cases the oom value of most commonly used widgets and their neccessary services are not raised or remain at around 0. AutoKiller is actually very intuitive with what apps priorities are raised it doesnt just kill everything indisciminately like most autokill task managers. I have used high values (150,200,250) for AutoKiller for more than 4 months and I have never had it kill any services or apps for widgets or even anything I want running in the background like Lookout, JuiceDefender, EasyFilter or DSP Manager. I also have numerous widgets and have never had problems with any of them being killed. I also get pretty awesome battery life. Chances are the problem is with some apps running unchecked in the background and not that apps you want in the background are getting killed.
Remember that everyone has different apps and everyone uses their phone differently so something that works for some people might not work as well for you. There are a lot of different things you can do to improve your battery life but if you try to set a target amount of battery drain (like the 0% in 9 hours) you can only be disappointed. Just use what you think helps you get the best performance for you and be happy for anything that seems to improve.

Hi Guys,
I am using xperia sola from last twenty days.....:good: but the battery performance is very bad:crying: when i checked my battery usage, analysis came out that more than 50% of battery is getting used by display....so to cut down that i have started using picture wallpaper instead of live wallpaper but to my surprise i came to know that Live wallpaper is running in the background which is still consuming my battery.
Battery is lasting for less than 24 hours.

Task killer won't help, those tasks will come back and make it even worst for the juice they use for initation.
Disable data, or use 2G only (turn 3G back on when you really nead it). Or you can search in this forum the way to do it automatically .
For the live wallpaper issue, just uninstall it
Bright
You should try reducing the bright, Hight bright eats all the phone battery...

just choose a static background, reduse screen brightness and usage. Today's smartphones need juice. Consider buying a spare battery

Screen brightness is going to be your number one killer. Also, if you're using WiFi/3G/4G all day long that will kill your battery too. Finally, if you're playing games that use a bunch of graphics that utilize your phone's hardware (openGL, unreal engine, etc.) it will drain your battery pretty fast.
I have seen an article somewhere saying that live wallpapers don't actually consume as much battery as people make them out to be, and i found this to be true, i got 5 days out of my Optimus 2X (no sim card inside) and it had a live wallpaper, what consumes the most battery is the screen itself (reduce brightness to get better battery life while using the phone) and data on 3G (i always turn off data when i don't use it) and i normaly get 2 days out of my Optimus 2X (1 day of heavy usage).
Thank you for the info whoever provided here.

Try or start with this app above and hunt for apps that syncing/updating in the background and basically you need to make a dumb phone out of your smartphone. Disable all autosyncs/notifications in the setting and apps like Facebook disable notifications. Open up Google play>settings and uncheck all default checked settings. Disable gmail/email notifications. Disable auto backup/restore. Disable all location services/vibrations/sounds when typing/wifi or GPS or BT when not in use. Disable data or stick with 2g in standby mode. Find a custom ROM that usually will be much better with battery management.
That's in a nutshell of how I can basically keep my phone draining 1% per hour on standby mode.

I highly recommend GO Power Master: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gau.go.launcherex.gowidget.gopowermaster
It lets you customize power profiles and set "sleep" cycles so that it uses minimal power when you're not using it anyway (I set mine to just be phone/text from 11pm until 7am).
It also has a "smart kill" button on the widget (which you don't have to use) that will prolong battery life by killing apps that are doing nothing. I know there's a lot of argument about app/task killers out there, but it's always worked well for me.
Adjust screen brightness to 0 (dim)
use dark wallpaper
disable gps, bluetooth , wifi when not in use and also air plane mode during night time
and also clear running apps with task manager:good:
Also you could try GSam Battery Monitor Pro, it will show you which process are using %'s of power
Try this one

Solution: root the phone, remove bloatware and install custom kernel and custom ROM that fits your phone for better performance.

First, excuse me for my bad english. I'll try to said something and I expect would not to be an offense to you . . . It would to be easy to turn of the phone . . . no?
Of course I have to do something of this things, but If it's necessary to do all of them . . . it would be better to don't have a smartphone . . .

Juice Defender functions only if you have you phone a lot of time inactive . . . It functions turning of your conections in inactivity period and olnly turns it on in few intervals depending of your profile . . . It's very good, but if you want your cell phone conected every time . . . this is not a solution . . .

You are using stock firmware or custom?
Gents....
In the quest for battery life and RAM enhancements, and the fact that many applications use wake locks to keep themselves active in the RAM.....is there an easy method to identify which apps contain wake locks ?
I can see active apps easy enough, but does that state simply mean a wake lock is present ??
A little info from a dev or two would be much appreciated.......g

Not sure there's an extra easy way... Nonetheless, check out BetterBatteryStats, if you haven't done so already? It does detect Kernel as well as partial Wakelocks. Here's a link that should help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Wakelocks
Also, if I remember correctly, you can open your favorite terminal emulator and type:
Su
dumpsys power
Your TE should display any at this point, and if your TE has a zero in the last two lines, there shouldn't be anything you need to worry about.
As far as RAM goes, Android has managed it well since Froyo 2.2, so its not really a concern that's worth your time. Nevertheless, I still find myself manually shutting down apps that I don't want held in RAM with SystemPanel or Taskiller anyway, d'oh! It's a bad habit - OCD problem for me, lol.., due to many years with Windows Mobile. Bottom-line is that Android will end idle app - process tasks as needed without our help, lol... and I'm sure you know that too.
In regard to battery life, here with Saurom 7.1, the display, mobile data, cell use, and cell standby, as well as an add-on ProximityScreenOff Pro app, consume the vast majority of the battery juice. That said, if I set wifi to sleep when the display is off and shut down mobile data, the battery life and deep sleep % increases dramatically.
Hope this helps a little...
Best to all,
R

You can check "Wakelock Detector" app which is available in Google Play
It has a simple UI which shows detail list of acquired wakelocks per each application
and as you mentioned, it shows active running apps on the top, which might have wakelock present at the moment.
Hey everyone,
After playing a bit with my Honor battery this week, I realized that my phone barely goes into deep sleep mode.
I have few Power consuming apps running in the background such as Facebook, Google App, Google Play Store, Textra, Gmail or Pebble.
Using tasker I periodically turn on and off the Auto Sync parameter (1 min of auto sync every 30 minutes) and I always shut down all the applications running in the background.
In my previous Nexus 5, I didn't had much of a problem with the CPU Deep sleep but now that I'm on EMUI without Root on I feel like I can barely control anything that's happening on my phone anymore, especially on the battery.
Overall the battery is still correct but I'm just wondering whether I'm the only one noticing this.
Thanks !
If battery life is normal then it doesn't matter. All cpu operate differently, maybe its just how kirin is. If apps are consuming power in background , emui will tell you.
Have you gone through the power saving and background apps managers of EMUI itself ? Maybe there is conflict of that with Tasker.
I just create battery discussion thread, I appreciate if you can post info here , Thanks

Yeah, I'm spending a lot of time checking out the power saving in the background and after a few day it seems that the phone kinda got used to it.
Facebook and G+ are still coming up first in term of power consumption (I actually wonder why every time I kill them, they just come back... even though they're both not synchronized anyway)
I've gotta admit that the on screen time is pretty amazing! The one thing that's kinda scaring me is the background power consumption but I'll try harder to get this right if anything can be done about these app running in the background. (I'll try rooting and grenifying it)
Other than that, yeah the phone last me a good day with a good amount of on screen time!
whats is best auto setting in app lauch have it all turned to auto or manuely turning all things off and what browser is most battery friendly for mate 20 pro?
I had a question about this too (hope thats ok )
to help with the notification issue, I changed all the apps I want to make sure I get notifications from to manual. This though now has them always running in the background..... is this necessary to make sure I receive notifications or not ? EG I keep getting a warning message about Fitbit being very power hungry
anything on the above guys?
I get all notifications and on occasion that Samsung browser taking too much battery, which mostly isn't true, as it not refreshing that often.
I removed the powerGenie and been monitoring battery patterns and usage, it's been mostly better.
Only app i have delayed notification is instagram, other than that all good.

I'm currently monitoring what might cause battery drain overnight though, as sometimes it drains 2% and yday it was 10%.
