there is a promotion for G2 users.

thanks reviews are not to great: file size upload limit and no linux client.

Have had a couple of free 50gb accounts from other devices, simple enough to use. File limits are 250mb per file aren't they? I would presume the very vast majority of users don't have a lot of files over that size on their phone to backup.

It works out perfectly for backing up via Titanium.
250mb,thats allright. I guess the feedback is positive.

A year or so ago they gave this promotion to all new users so I signed up. The service is alright. I don't use it for much, but DL speeds are solid, and the only issues are the obvious "Free account" restrictions. Which, honestly, I can't really complain about because it's free and I knew going in.
It's not a bad service. Client works fine. I've used it w/ both OSX and Windows apps. No problems.
I rarely use it, though. Ever since Google upgraded my Drive / email account to 25GB I tend to use that.
I got multiple 50GB box accounts with 1GB single file upload limit. Yeah, Box is definitely good.
Just signed up and got my 50gb. You can never have too much free storage.

Title pretty much says it all. Download the box app for android and create an account and it will automatically give you 50gb of storage.

Got this back when I had the Touchpad, the downside is that you have to use one of the pay services to be able to sync files. It's good if you don't mind throwing files in there every once in a while, I suppose.
Ty you for the info sign up was easy and the apps is well polished

The fact they give you 50GB is awesome, but they have SOOOOOO Many restrictions.
When you want to upload a file, they have very small filesize limits. You will not be uploading any movies or anything, that is for sure. It works better more for smaller files and stuff, which YOU WOULDN'T NEED 50GB For.
Also, if you want to upload files from your Computer, you have to use a web browser. Their Desktop Application to simply drag and drop files into your Box Storage is a Premium Feature that you have to pay for. Yes, they don't even give you a Desktop Client.
These were all of my impressions from about 3 to 4 weeks ago. I just keep using Dropbox. So much easier to use with fewer restrictions.
I continue to use Tonido, which uses my own computer as the "cloud". Unlimited space, unlimited file sizes, unlimited everything.

I use my server the same way, but every once in a while I need an alternative for testing or such. I still swear by dropbox too.

Unlimited? Quantum computer?
What 3rdamention mentioned, is why I still need to use Dropbox for anything I would otherwise store in box, and getting the file syncing stuff for free on desktop is a good bonus too.
OK, once upon a time even an 8 meg file was ginormous but in this day and age, who the heck lives with 100M limits? I think it's just a technique for getting people to pay for the business plans.

Now through March 23rd anyone that downloads the Box.net app and logs in gets upgraded to 50gb of free storage (normally 5gb) and the maximum file upload size gets bumped up to 100mb (normally 25mb). Plus, it is for life and never expires.
Check press release here: http://www.maximumpc.com/article/news/box_offers_50gb_free_cloud_storage_android_users
Works like a charm. Thanks for posting
very cool man. thanks
Wonderful, thanks
Maybe I'm a little paranoid but does anyone else ever wonder why they are giving away so much free space for you to store your stuff?
I dont use any online storage sites only because all my personal stuff stays in my control. Makes me wonder what I'm missing out on though. What does everyone keep online? MP3s, pictures, "personal" videos, work files?

Because with the 200mb max single file upload limit it is incredibly hard to use up all 50gbs for the average user
Sent from my Photon 4G via Tapatalk 2
Or so they can suck you in and get you on a paid account. Once you've taken the time to up 50GB of stuff, if you need more space you're more likely to stay where you are than go somewhere else and start over.

All of that plus they want users. They have services running alongside their storage that brings them revenue. That's why they give it out so freely, they cleared out quite a bit of the normal overhead costs and can afford to grow via promotions as an additional service of a phone. I got my 50 gigs last year when they welcomed LG users, all LG users.
Got on there with my Optimus, haven't used it since day one. I'd just been using Spider-oak, I don't like streaming content but it does offer sharing content which I do need in a service. It did exactly wha I want with a high level of security. Love them. I'm a fringe user though, dropbox, box.net, etc will be the best bet for most users.
kamsahamnida amigo!!
I love to use this App
It's very easy to share file

Its similar to dropbox but I've been happier with Box. Plus you get 50gb free if you sign up by March 23!!! Don't hesitate!
Ya, I signed up for Box as it seemed like a good idea at the time. Turns out there are a few caveats to their 50GB.
1. There's no desktop client for personal accounts. You have to sign up for the business or enterprise level starting at $15 a month. Without a desktop client, uploading files one at a time via the web or phone makes the 50GB superfluous.
2. There's a 10GB monthly bandwidth limit. So, even if you COULD spend the time to upload 50GB in files one at a time it would take you 5 months to get them all uploaded. This is assuming you never download any since that presumably goes against your bandwidth number too.
So, it sounded good at the beginning. Now... not so much.
In short, it's not like getting Dropbox with 50GB of space.
You can upload multiple files at a time with this app and you can easily get on the site from your computer to manage files. Of course some people aren't going to think this is anywhere near dropbox but it works well for me and could work well for others. Worth a try if you ask me.
Currently using dropbox which i love but as of Jan 11th i have to start paying and i find it a bit pricey at 120 a yr... can anyone recommend another cloud? Something i can use on my phone...mainly pics and music
Depending on how much space you need. I use Box, which gave me 50gig
Google Drive. 1.99 a month for 100 gigs.

I use, drop box (sorta I quit using them as much since they like to suspend my account due to traffic), copy is my personal favorite and racked up a ton of free space with invites back when they first started and drive.
Or you can say screw all services and have your own cloud with one of these, which is what I've been thinking about grabbing

I just read that Mega gives you 50Gb for free bro.
Just curious if anyone has bothered to install OneDrive, log-in, go to settings in the app, and click the "Apply 100 GB Samsung offer" button on their S9/S9+ phone.
Four family members with S9+ phones here. All did it. Not one of us got the 100 GB - even though no error was displayed.
Bummer. Would have been kind of nice as a (temporary) photo storage option, even if it was only for two years.
Kind makes one wonder what the point of that button is, anyway, if not to allocate 100 GB of OneDrive space.
Oh, well.
I just did it and I got the extra storage. I had to install Outlook & set it up but that's ok because I have an Outlook email account. Did it ask you to install Outlook? Thanks for the tip!
I had to install another app as well. Showed I got the 100gb. However when I check the settings it still shows 5gb. Hopefully it updates
Yup just took a little bit. Shows 105gb available now.
Doesn't work if you have previously done this offer on a previous galaxy. I believe I did it on the Galaxy s6 or s7 so doesnt work on my account.
Got it, i mean 100GB of storage for 2 years. But it wasnt easy. No idea how i did it, but im pretty sure i didnt got at first try. In case you cant or you dont see the bonus, try to delete app data and try again.

I did take advantage of this on my S7, but that storage is expired now.
How does one come to know this? Is this information published somewhere?
I can find no mention of it being a one-time-only promotion. In fact, it seems to state that it should be on a per-device basis - although that wording is not clear.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2014 Edition works too!!
Guys, I can add to the above that you do not really need the latest & greatest in Samsung Android hardware to get the 100 GBs for free!
I am using an older Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1" 2014 Edition tablet with Android OS 5.1.1 on it here, and got the same offer these days.
It seems "some Samsung models" qualify, unsure if there is a list as to which Samsung phones/tablets qualify, and which not.
Anyway, I do not use MS Word or MS Excel on my tablet as I prefer doing that on my Windows PC. So, the 100 GB offer asked me to download one of the MS Office Android apps - I chose MS Word.
It downloaded via Play Store, and OneDrive also asked me to enable photo upload from my Samsung tablet into MS OneDrive, which was in fact already enabled on my tablet anyway.
Then after a few seconds, the 100 extra GBs showed in my MS OneDrive Android app account status at once! On my Windows PC, I had to quit OneDrive, then run again for them to show.
I hope this can help others too.
I have some questions that interest me, please - and likely others too:
1) Does anyone know long the promotion will be going on? The Samsung website has some useful info on this 100 GB for free offer, but not its duration. I mean the 100 GBs last for 2 years, but likely the offer is not forever.
2) Is there a list of qualifying/non-qualifying Samsung devices, please? I imagine maybe older phones/tablets that cannot run MS Office apps at all might be some of those that do not qualify.
(such as Android OS 2.x or 3.x devices/etc)

New device - yes.
Same OneDrive account - no.
MS online storage plans

I, like you, have found some nice deals for those who purchase Samsung products. I was among those who woke up one morning, back in 2013, to find a lifetime 1TB storage waiting to be discovered when logging into their new onedrive.com account.
I have several live.com accounts, too & use for those I choose to share my extra online storage with. I have dedicated myself to storing rare music & vintage family movies.
Since storage isn't an issue for me, I will remain with MS as long as plenty of online storage will remain, without question
I claimed this offer I think on my s6 and it expired sometime this winter (can't remember the month) I've been logged into my OneDrive work account since i got the phone and after seeing this i just added my personal account as well and it immediately gave me 105gb, no dialog box or anything.
Just got this notification on my s9+, too bad i cannot use it twice since i already claimed the offer on my s7 edge

Actually, you can. I just signed up for a new microsoft account with a new email and I had a new 100 GB free storage.
Will I get offered the 100gb of storage if I order a pre owned phone off boost mobile.com?
I never bother with these cons, if you use that space up and don't pay them after the 2yrs you're (censored)
