[Q] wanted auto wake screen when charging - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there, I am basically new here so spare me some time on the long winded issue I am facing...
I had just bought a 7" MID with Android 4.2.2 and would like to have the wake up screen function when it is on AC or USB.
The tablet is rooted and Tasker installed but the profile for "Power" on "Any" and wake screen did not work.
Tried monitoring the wakelock and I think it is unable to wake on sleep mode.
Please help. any input is most appreciated.
THANKS!

[Q] SGS2 screen stays on after notification while charging

Hi guys!
I noticed over quite a time, that while I leave my phone charging over the night, any random notofication will cause the screen to stay on until I wake up and manually turn it off.
On my galaxy s2 I have VillainRom 2.1.0 (Android 2.3.4) with ninpho's 2.0.4 kernel.
However I did notice the problem before with VR 1.4 and CF-Root kernel (didn't use anything else yet), so I figure it might not be related to this.
This is rather annoying, as I don't want any burn in effects on my screen, but there's a much worse part about it:
It's noch 100% limited to the time of being charged. If I remove the charger at 100%, play around a little with the phone and then go to sleep, some random notification (whatsapp/sms etc.) will still cause the phone to wake up and not go back to sleep mode.
What happens is, I wake up with a phone at 50% battery (at it's best!), or I don't even wake up because my phone is dead and therefore my alarm clock stays quiet..
I read about some people having this problem with their SGS1 and it might help to go to Settings -> Applications -> Development -> uncheck Stay awake.
SGS2 does not have this "stay awake" option (or I'm seriously stupid)..
Anyone an idea what I might want to try?
Best greetings, Alex
At that screen I have "Standby" and you need to have it unchecked. Also, what's your screen-off delay? You don't have any apps like screebl keeping you screen on, I assume?

I have tested with a stock rom of which I made no input and had the same issue.
Hope we can solve our problems. Cheers

mine just started doing it. i have been running custom rom for awhile now.
apps recently installed:
words free
launcher pro 806
extended controls
impossible level game
I have uninstalled:
words free
impossible level game
my issue is still happening.
when unplugged screen turns off.
I can get a text, it will light up then turn back off.
when plugged in (charging)
display will not turn off unless i press the lock button.
if i get a text the screen turns back on and stays on unless i press the lock button again.
I have recently re-flashed, complete wipe of phone and factory reset wipe.
I still have the screen on when charging and no option to disable.
I need an option to disable the "stay awake"
As my fault occurs with the phone completely reset on a stock rom it must be hardware so I am going to return it and see what happens from there.
I have flashed CM7 and there is an option to turn stay awake off.
This option is removed in DarkyRom.
Finally figured out how to turn it on or off!!!!
install the app extended controls and add stake awake as a toggle.
Turn it off!!!
then remove app
FINALLY!

A70 not waking up from Deep Sleep

I have the problem, my A70 is not waking up from Deep Sleep anymore.
After a while with screen off I press the power button and the screen stays black.
Only a reset brings the device back to life.
As far as I know it is a known problem, but search does not work.
Is there any solution for it?
How can I deactivate Deep Sleep permanently?
I only have the Deep Sleep On/Off option in Energy Options but there should be an option where the time before the device goes to deep Sleep can be adjusted, but I don't find it.
Disabling Deep Sleep with the button mentioned above does not help.
With most it is connected to the display light dimmed below 30%.
There is no time setting for deepsleep.
Is there an app for automatic display dimming?
Or an App, where the settings can be set so that 30% on Archos equals 0% on the App (100% == 100%)?
One more THing:
I installed the App Wake Lock:
https://market.android.com/details?id=eu.thedarken.wl&feature=search_result
I set the wake lock to Partial Wake Lock, and got a Freeze.
Is this normal?
I thought Wake Lock should prevent going to deep sleep?
It would be interesting to check whether the device is actually not turning on, or simply not turning the LCD on. One way to check would be to perform some action that plays a sound or something.
It would also be interesting to see if you can connect via adb and see what events, if any, show up in the log when you press the power button.
Could you explain, what is adb?
Never heard of it
See this: http://developer.android.com/guide/developing/tools/adb.html
This is probably fixed with an option in SuperDim 1.51dev2. See this thread.

[Q] Display timeout in car mode

Hello.
I couldn't find answer to my question anywhere, so I decided to start a new thread.
I have original Samsung car dock for my Galaxy S2 running stock JB 4.1.2 with root (Siyah kernel 6.0b5). I'm using it mostly as a trigger for Tasker (connect to bluetooth hands-free) and to record my routes (using AutoGuard). I rarely use it for navigation, so I don't need screen to be on all the time. Unfortunately, when I put my phone in car dock (and/or car mode), the screen stays on all the time. I tried to set display timeout using tasker, but with no luck - the screen just stays on.
My question is: how can I turn on screen timeout while my phone is in a car dock/car mode, so screen automatically turns off after specified time (e.g. 1 minute), just like when it isn't in car dock/mode?
Any help would be appriciated

The S5 doesn't activate the sleep mode.

A few months ago I rooted my Samsung Galaxy S5. And until yesterday all were working right. But, without any change, since yesterday I can't activated the sleep mode not with power button and neither with screen look time... I have installed some apps for this function and they can block the screen as maximum (not switch of the screen) the screen is always working... I've tried to restore as company and nothing... Could somebody help me?? Thanks a lot.

Tablet turns itself ON at a specific time when in cradle

My Tab 4 turns itself on every night at specific time. I cannot figure out why, or what setting may be the culprit.
Every evening, I tap the power button to "sleep" my tablet before I put it in its cradle to charge. However, every evening at a specific time the tablet display lights up showing the lock screen, which wakes me up. This is making me nuts! I can't find any setting that would affect this behaviour, and there are no alarms set to "wake" the tablet at some specific time.
Any ideas where I should check?
