I've just got my LG G2 after 3 years of iPhones and am loving it so far. I was just wondering what the white notification light means when the phone is locked and is the any way to turn it off?
Sent from my LG G2
when it unlocks, it flashes white just to show you that it registered your knock-on tap

Thanks for the reply, my one always flashes when.my phone is locked?

Figured it out, it's because of the app I use for the notification light

Hi. Is there any app or can someone make it for soft buttons light to have a timer?
For example buttons to light up from 22:00 till 08:00 and the other hours to be swithed off.
Sorry if this exists but could not find it from phone.

Damn. Is this so hard to be done? I think it would be very useful.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
I'd like this, too. It'd remind me a lot of m old GS II, but I think they removed it, because barely anybody used it.
Better would be if someone could at least make a mod, which would allow the touch-buttons to be on, if it is dark, and off if it's dark, like on the GS II..
LG familyguy59/Beatsleigher
its possibe to dim or make them brighter if thats any help,im trying to find away to change the colour of them

There are already off and on when is dark, normally are off, all you have to do is touch them and will be on. ***trolling mode activated***

Everyone who sees the phone loves the build quality and the screen, especially iphone users. They also love the animation when the screen turns off. I think some people are definitely considering it after seeing mine!

The build quality is really amazing...feels like a solid hunk of glass.
Agreed.
My roommate got the SG3 a few days before I got my LGOG.
I don't think she got enough hands-on time with this phone in the store and is regretting her purchase.
Yeah. Build quality is indeed great. Except for the flimsy and cheap feeling power and volume buttons. I have the ATT version. I don't know if other versions have better quality buttons.
This is probably the highest quality phone I've ever had. It really does have a solid feel and even though it feels heftier, its thinner than my sgs2

If I remember correctly, I think the Sprint version has a bit of a classier look.
http://www.phonearena.com/reviews/LG-Optimus-G-AT-T---Sprint-Review_id3154
If you scroll down a bit you can see a pop-up comparison of the two.
The buttons are nice, but really slim so I feel we have a bit of an advantage as an AT&T customer.
Not to mention the AT&T's version design is just beautiful. Prefer it over Sprint's any day.
All three versions are beautiful imo. No expandable storage and sparse LTE makes the Sprint version a no buy for me.
I have the AT&T version and tbh I'm a little jealous of the Sprint one. It's a little thinner but taller which is what I would prefer. But other than that one little nitpick I love this phone.

But the Sprint version doesn't have the power button notification light does it? Also, I am in an area that requires an Airrave to get Sprint service (less than .5MB) and getting 10MB down in same spot. It took me a bit to find battery % in settings/battery saver then down at the bottom although I am happy to have it

The Sprint version has a front light led by the ear pieces rather than a power button light.

Do Sprint users have the same infrequent LED problem or is that just AT&T? The LED by the power button is nice and all...but problem is I rarely see it unless I'm looking for it.

By normal do you mean every 30 seconds? Because that is the flash rate of the LED light. I have the Sprint version and it bothers the heck out of me.
Sent from my super fast Optimus G!!!
Yeah that seems to be LG's "normal" flashing rate, haha. Not sure who came up with that idea.
That LED interval is really annoying.
I love the look of the LED on the power button... but it is a little out of the way. I feel like it was treated like the ugly step-child that has to stay out of sight when company is over...
That coupled with the flash rate almost guarantee that I don't notice a notification.
I'm used to being able to change the flash frequency with CM and Miui.
My old phone was set to like 3 seconds. Haha. Just had to glance over and had a really strong idea if I had a notification or not.
Oh well, the phone is still solid and sexy as anything.
Blows my old phone out of the water every other way.
(On a side note, anybody know if the LED can do other colors? I really liked having a aqua/cyan colored LED.)

Bump.
I'd like to confirm this as well. I think the AT&T LG Optimus G (E970) only has a red LED notification light around the power/wake button.

It's red only, correct.
I absolutely love mine but in my country its quite the opposite, here Samsung is the only android game in town and anything made by Lg is seen as crap. Bad for them, good for me hehe

Anyone know what the color options are for the LED (s)? I'm messing around with light flow without much success.
It seems the back one only does orange and the front us yellow green or red?
Thanks in advance

I recall reading somewhere light flow not working on droid DNA right now, they need to update.
sent from HTC Droid DNA on Verizon.
They should both be able to do green, orange, and yellow.
Both of them have a green led and a orange led, and if they are both on it makes yellow.

it works, kinda.... Really what I use lightflow for is not so much the actual light, although it was nice with my gnex, its more so for the repeating notifications with custom ringtones/sounds for different contacts. I am able to get that by just turning off every led notification and just use the sound and vibration. When ever I tried to use the lights I just had problems, so I gave up on them, besides, the front LED is maybe the worst I have ever seen, and I hardly ever see the back as I lay my phone down with the screen up. So yes, lightflow works, just not 100% as its name would suggest.
Yeah in really hoping it ends up having a little more control over the front LED. I relied on the difference between white/red/pink for text/call/whatsapp on my Nexus and was really hoping for the ability to do that on this phone.
At this point I just wanna get the light to stay solid rather than blinking...

Yeah that's cool as long as I have three different colors I'm satisfied.
I got everything working now my only issue is the front LED blinks and the rear is solid when I want both to be solid.
We'll see what happens.

Hey guys Im new here, quick hello looking forward to learning a lot here..
anyways my first few questions, Im wondering if anyone has got Light Flow to work on their M8??
I had a S3 prior to the M8 and I loved the fact I could set the notifications/led color to separate apps.
I cant get it to work for the M8. does it NEED to be rooted?? what colors is the M8 limited too??
Really hope someone can help me out, thanks!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe your only limited to GREEN and RED.

Hmm Ive never seen green, only yellow and red.
You will see a green led when your phone is fully charged or you have a notification, (missed call, missed text, email, etc.)

Thats weird, I see yellow when I have a notification, at least it looks like yellow to me lol
can anyone confirm being able to control their LED notifications?? Either with root or w/ out root??
I just tried using textra with the notification set to cyan and it still used green.
I saw earlier in a thread taking about the m8 vs s5 and one of the pros listed for the s5 in one guys thread was an rgb led, I'm betting the m8 only has a dual color led

Does this phone have an LED light on it? For the life of me I cant seem to verify if it does or doesnt. Ive been pondering this phone for weeks now as Im starting to get bored with the HTC One M8. Hoping a move to the Sony will satisfy the urge for a bit. Just hoping I dont regret going with an international phone with no warranty. Crossing my fingers as I just bought one on ebay from never MSRP.
Yes, it's bar shaped above sony logo

Yes, it has an RGB-Notification-LED in the upper speaker.
Ok thanks!
Would be nice if it was a 3 led notif light
Id turn it into a knight rider LED XD
But some info
:the led isnt too bright to where staring at it kills your eyes but its vibrancy is nice, isnt kinda dim like Z1
