[Q] Problem with Avatar Rom on an I777 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

Hello all,
I have searched the forums and the thread specific to this rom and I can't find an answer to my problem.
I flashed the Avatar rom and I keep running into two problems.
1. The AOSP keyboard continually crashes when I load the newest GAPPS. I can work around this by loading an older version of GAPPS, install swype, reinstall the new version, and disable the AOSP keyboard.
2. When I go in to change themes, I get an error "An error has occurred, please check the internet connection
I have tried reflashing the rom, both doing just a factory reset, and deleting system. I have tried this rom with and without updating the kernel. I have tried both the AJK and STI kernel.
I am hoping someone can tell me what I am doing wrong. Any and all help on this is greatly appreciated.

[Q] SGS2 CM& Market Force close Issue

Hello,
I am in desperate need of help. I recently flashed my SGS2 with CM7 and everything went well. I also flashed Gapps as recommended by the CM website.
I was able to download my application back from the market but not I am not able to as the Market keeps on force closing. I cannot install/ download any application and I am in desperate need of some of my applications.
Steps taken:
clear cache and data
Flashed gapps
installed a newer and older version of Marketplace.apk
cleared Dalvaik cache
Select English (Canada) in setting (as I found this to work for some users)
I did pretty much every I found and can think of in short of flashing my ROM again.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
did I mention I'm a noob

ICS hacksung build flash, cant install Gapps

EDIT: First I tried installing Codename Android as my first rom from stock rooted gingerbread. OK, I ended up having some problems where I couldn't detect the SD card on my computer, and Android was giving me no option to go into mass storage mode. I had to take the advice on ics.samsung-update.com about the MTP issue going into Terminal Emulator to get it working again.
Now that I got it working I was just going to try to flash teamhacksung's build 5 here: hxxp://rootzwiki.com/topic/11850-romicsiml74k-teamhacksungs-ics-port-for-fascinate-build-5-0114/ Read my latest post for my problem.
I'd highly recommend AOKP or THS (find at rootzwiki) ICS roms. Droidstyle's guide in the general section has everything to get you up and running. Sounds like you might've flashed the wrong recovery in odin?
Probably something like that? I dunno, either way, I got a ClockwordMod v4 flashed on there. I then installed the Codenamed Android ROM I had on the sd card and that was appeared to work just fine. It seems strange that the contacts app on this rom seems to only want to let me import contacts from an Exchange account? Kind of strange I can't seem to get my Google contacts on here. I guess I'll try to flash the teamhacksung rom.
It sounds like you forgot to flash gapps. Flash the rom you want to use, then gapps, (then kernel if you want), and reboot.
Aokp m4 ftw! Glitch kernel if you're looking for performance tweaks. Go to Droidstyle's guide in general forum for all your needs.

cant install gapps
I am now trying to install teamhacksungs build. This seemed to go ok, except for I keep getting errors that it can't mount the cache. Also when I try to data wipe it gives me those errors and it seems to skip some of the formats. After I flashed teamhacksung's build 5 I keep getting errors that android.process.media has stopped. Also after the rom begins running I shut back down to flash gapps and this seems to install as well, but when I boot up I see no sign of them. Anyone have any ideas?
It sounds like you may have 3-fingered into recovery after flashing ICS. After you odin the recovery, you 3-finger into it *initially*, but never again after that. Use the reboot menu.

Help! Google Play broken after flashing SGH-I717-UCLF6BS.zip

Hi all,
I seem to have made a bit of a mess.
I was attempting to install Cyanogenmod 9 RC2 on my Galaxy Note i717, and it got stuck in a boot loop.
So, I attempted to revert back to my original, stock ROM, and discovered that I managed to screw up (lose) my nandroid backup.
So, I did some googling, found SGH-I717-UCLF6BS.zip, which is supposed to be Stock ICS w/ root. I tried downloading and flashing that, and it seems to have worked fine, except that everytime I run Google Play, I get "Unfortunately, Google Play Store has stopped."
Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what to do next?
Thanks!
-Mark
Clear market data and cache then reboot.
If that doesn't work, reflash that package.
If that doesn't work, find a different Rom.

[Q] CM10 Setup Wizard stopped loop

Total Noob, not sure what I did.
Long story short, rooted my Galaxy Tab 10.1 wifi (p7510) tonight.
Saw a video on how to flash 4.1 onto my tab here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRjl7zh551w
followed the instructions from the video, it linked to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1787399
downloaded the latest nightly from http://get.cm/?device=p4wifi
(cm-10.1-20130124-NIGHTLY-p4wifi.zip )
and the gapps from mirror 1 at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1787399
(gapps-jb-20120729.zip)
There was probably my mistake
In any case, i wiped everything, flashed the CM10 and gapps.
On reboot I got 2 error messages,
"Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped." ok
"Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped." ok (loops forever)
Now I have no idea how to recover from this point.
I tried to re-wipe and re-flash my old functioning ICS root and it still reboots into CM loading screen and setup wizard loop
Also, if i attempt to install zip from sdcard my options are:
0/
legacy/
obb/
legacy and obb contain no files and I have to navigate down a couple of layers of 0/ to reach my original root.
Probably screwed myself royally, but I guess that's how you learn. Any advice on how to salvage my tab?
Update*
Restore finds no files to restore
used odin for TWRP instead of CM, still no luck at restoring.
Won't mount USB, so I don't know how to transfer over a different gapps to see if that would solve the problem.
Revert to stock 4.0.4 through odin and start over. Probably be the easiest. I've had to a few times and yes it's how you/we all learn...

I am in exactly the same situation as you, same build same gapps, same problem.
To help you out, in recovery (CWM) you can mount /data, then using adb on you computer you can push stuff to the "sdcard" via the command "adb push C:\Some\Local\File.zip /data/media/0/File.zip"
Same problem for me. I installed CM10.1 without gapps and it worked without problems. I also tried with different versions of gapps and give all the mentioned problem.
"Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped." OK
"Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped." ok (loops forever)
Does anyone have a solution to this problem.
Thx
Help required if possible!
Hello all, joined just to post here.
I'm having the same issues as detailed in the first post.
A lot of the solutions that I've seen recommend going into settings and turning syncing off but the error messages block me from accessing anything. It eventually just seems to crash itself and turn off anyway, which is probably due to being bombarded with error message popups.
Is there a simple way to fix this without doing a full reset back to 4.0.4 or is that my only choice?
If so then I'm in trouble because I followed the link that mrhiab provided but I can't see which firmware there is the one I need (wifi only galaxy tab 10.1 P7510 uk).
Is the cause of this problem that the version of gapps I installed is broken and causes errors as it worked fine without gapps?
If anyone can answer any of those questions then I'd really appreciate it. I've semi broken my girlfriends tab and she's not too happy lol!
UPDATE/SOLVED:
Just thought I'd comment back and say that I've solved the problem.
I simply reflashed the CM by putting the tab into install mode again but didn't add gapps. After rebooting I noticed that it worked okay so I tried to find another release of gapps and tried that...it worked perfectly - no errors no nothing!
Sorry for the initial noob-post!
same problem as you
sir ... i also have the same problem as you ... i've been searching on almost all sites ... still i can't see any issues that can solve my problem.1st was "unfortunately, google.com.pro ..." then next was "unfortunately, setup wizard has stopped." this results everytime i reboot my galaxytab 2 10.1 .. im on JB 4.1.1 .. and i just followed the guide of sir codeworkx. please lend me a solution.
BTW midgard .. how did you flash CM again w/o the gapps ? because when i go to install zip from sd card ... there's nothing in there .. just obb and stuffs said by the thread maker.
I will appreciate suggestions ... Thanks in advance
I hope some suggestions may come up eventually
I found a way on installing cyanogenmod 10 on my Galaxy tab 2 10.1 by not installing gapps at the same time while installing the CM10 .. but eventually, i found out i don't have any google playstore .. and that's when i googled on how to have one. I found a video saying i could have it by just going to there website via my tablet goo-apps .. then download the existing gapss for my JB 4.1.1 .. and then flash it .. but then again ... the error of the Unfortunately, setup wizard stopped came up again ... help
and thanks midgard !!!
Can I get help

GApps error after installing custom ROM

So I have got this Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 3G 10.1" that has been lying in a cupboard for a around a year, mainly because I've been busy Now there's a family member of mine who would really need a tablet so I thought this one would be perfect for her!
From thinking I went on to doing and started with getting rid of the stock software and installing some nice custom ROM.
As I found out i couldn't use USB (probably busted data-cable), I rooted the tab using KingRoot and went on installing CWM recovery. Afterwards long story short: I've tried both CWM and TWRP, different ROM and android versions (Lineage, CM, Slim etc.) and different GApps packages from different developers but the problem still seems to come up :crying:
The problem itself is that when I've installed any of the above mentioned ROMs, all the GApps seem to not have been installed correctly (even though the installation process in recovery went smoothly) and basically none of them works (notifications saying that any GApp has stopped keep on coming up and I can't find any Google app in the menu except something things like "com.google.android..." or "com.android.vending...") otherwise everything seems perfectly fine.
Maybe there are others here experiencing the same issue or there's someone who knows how to fix this here, any help will be very appreciated :good:
Hello,
First, have you checked that the ROM you flashed was fully compatible with your device? Yes, this is obvious, but I have to ask.
Second, I'm not a ROM flashing via custom recovery fan... The best way to efficiently flash a ROM in my opinion is Odin-Download mode but whatever (your USB port is screwed, so pfu.)
Redownloading apps doesn't work for you? (updating the apk may fix that!)

Thanks for your reply!
Yes, I do have used ROMs compatible with my device as they've all are made for espresso3g (which is my device).
I know it's not really the best way but I'll keep on trying with custom recovery for some more time and then perhaps try buying a new cable, and see if that works.
Tried installing Google Play Store from APK both on a clean ROM without GApps and with, but it still doesn't run and keeps on saying that either Google Play Store or "com.google.process.gapps" has stopped.
Alright...
I'm out of idea x/

Hello...!
You could try the following....
1. make absolutely sure you are using the correct version of gapps for the custom rom you are currently using. If your custom rom is on android 6, you need gapps for android 6 for example.
2. after flashing gapps wipe cache/dalvik and make a factory reset BEFORE exiting twrp. You will lose personal data but since you are preparing to give the device to somebody else that should not be much of a concern.
Let me know if it helps, if it does not, I might be able to try and provide additional suggestions.
Good luck!

Hi and thanks for your reply!
1. The ROMs I've been trying to install are all android 6.0.1 and I've been trying with different OpenGApps packages for the 6.0 version which should work (except CM 12 which is android 5.1 with which I've tried OpenGApps and A-Gapps for Android 5.1).
2. Tried that with 3 different ROMs today and the results are following: Slimrom gets stuck in setupwizard which doesn't start, CM 12 starts but the same error as first seems to appear (I get notifications about GApps which stop working) and Lineage bootloops the lineage start screen.

Ok...
This is what I would do if it was my device and I was facing what you are describing. It might take some time and a little patience to do everything described here, but it might also work.
1. Usin Odin, flash latest available official rom for the device. Let it boot and complete setup.
2. Use odin and use CF autoroot to root. Again boot and complete setup.
3. Flash Twrp. Enter Twrp and flash latest flashable supersu.zip. At this time I believe is version 2.82. Again boot and let it reach your welcome screen.
4. Enter Twrp. Enter advanced wipe. Wipe everything except external SD and usb at least 3 times. Do not exit twrp.
5. Install you rom. Do not exit Twrp.
6. After installing your rom, Twrp will ask you if you want to wipe cache/dalvik. "Yes" but DO NOT reboot.
7. Install correct version of gapps for your custom rom (correct both android version and architecture version). Again twrp will ask you to wipe cache/dalvik. "Yes" and this time reboot.
See what happens. If it gets stuck, try entering twrp again and do a factory reset only, only once and reboot again.
If that fails again... I will at a loss here myself too...
I did a quick search here on xda on P5100, I am providing some links that you can take a look at. You probably already searched yourself but you never know...

If nothing else helps, perhaps the best way to go around this would be to find a custom rom with at least some google apps pre-installed, in order to save you the trouble you are currently facing.

Hey, just try uninstalling Google play services and install them again. I faced the same issue and now it's all working on my Samsung Galaxy Core 2
