I have installed Walkman Experience Elite ROM (4.0.4) and it shows kernel 3.0.8.
The problem is, I can not get into fastboot!
I turn it off, hold Vol+Up and plug in USB, but the blue LED appears only for a couple seconds, then goes off and the phone just continues charging.
I installed Android SDK stuff and I couldnt use it to fastboot CM10 boot.img. I tried Flashtool, AND I installed the drivers.
(Note in case it matters (don't think so): at first I downloaded fastboot drivers alone and installed, but after installing Flashtool those may have been newer drivers, I tried to install them too but it said I already have)
Even after installing the drivers my Xperia U showed no signs of working fastboot, and PC still couldn't recognize it in fastboot.
I had problems installing the drivers, as I found out - because of Windows 8.1, but I got through that.
Another question: Does Xperia U change from ST25a to ST25i depending on kernel/ROM or something? (I have ST25a)
Please help!
I tried to follow this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2447283
But at step 8 it doesn't recognize it as S1 fastboot device.
Why does nobody help? ;(

got the same problem on my xperia ray
I had this problem earlier.
Well windows 8 does allow unsigned fastboot drivers to get installed. I'm assuming u r installing drivers from file in flashtool folder.
Follow the procedure in This link to disable driver signatures.
Reboot system after procedure done, then install the fastboot drivers they should work fine.

Thank you, this method worked!
(Previously I disabled the driver enforcement through the command shell with 2 commands. But apparently that did not work.)

It's a pleasure. If any moderator put this discussion in relief would be better :highfive:
Hi, first of all, sorry about my english. I think it's terrible.
I have a SE WT19 stuck on FXP bootloop.
I had installed a custom kernel, but i guess i did something wrong.
At first, my cellphone is on bootloop (in some custom ROMs) or just on black screen.
So, i tried to flash a new kernel with flashtool, or a stock Rom with PCCompanion, but my device is not recognized by Windows 7.
Also is not recognized by Linux, or Mac.
The kernel that bricked my LWW was wt19i-live-rage2.7-kernel-for-fxp-cm7.
There is something possible to bring it alive again?
Ever uninstall and install all drivers and tried in another pc, aways shows the same message.
"One of the USB devices attached to this computer is not working properly, and Windows does not recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message." :crying: :crying:

My phone was rooted and unlooked bootloader. I tried ALL CM7/9/10 roms posted in the xda development forum. I have the latest flashtool installed, also the latest drivers. When I connect my phone in fastboot or in flash mode, nothing happens,, cause my pc (and flashtool) do not recognize the device.
Okay but what happens when u connect ur phone to pc while pressing vol up button(without running flashtool)?does the blue led show & pc doesn't recognize it?if yes then go to device manager on my computer & see whats the problem with ur device, try installing it from there.Another question, can u get into CWM?

When I press Up, turns on the blue led.
When I press Down, turns on the green led.
Device Manager displays: Unknow Device, and say I'm using the latest drivers, and something about Code 43 wrong.
I can get into CWM.
Nice then ur phone is perfectly okay :good:
just try another pc
or
unistall all related to ur device(flashtool, drivers, android sdk,pc companion, google usb) & reinstall. If that even don't work I suggest u to do a fresh install of windows.
See if it's a problem with the USB port. Are other devices connected to that port recognized? Some of the USB ports in the old PC at my home keep showing that message whatever I connect to it

The phone doesn't seem to be bricked. Try using Flashtool on another computer. Make sure you do have those fastboot drivers(when you first connect your phone to Flashtool in fastboot mode, Flashtool gives you a notification that drivers need to be installed for the device. I confirm that the ones provided in C:\Flashtool\drivers work for LWW )
(Always make sure the kernel is compatible with the ROM you're trying to flash)
Start with the stock kernel(the one provided inside the CM7/CM9 zip - boot.img). Then flash the relevant ROM and see what happens. Once that works fine, start tinkering with various kernels out there.
Don't worry, it's just a soft brick
I haven't bricked my WT19 yet but I did soft brick my former X8 and Someone else's Galaxy something...
What I can advise you do is flash the whole stock .ftf ROM from Sony, just search for the 4.1.B.0.587 firmware, flash it and start from scratch.
About your pc not recognizing your phone: how then did you flash the kernel?? Do have the Sony PC Companion installed on your machine? I have it just for the driveers, I know Flashtool comes with them but I rather have the offiicial somethimes... I think MediaGo also comes with them.
Anyhow, I hope you can get your phone working. Let us know how it went

Micro USB port works fine too.
Hi guys,
All tests done.
Other pc, or OS, do not recognize my device.
Tried another notebook, tried another windows version, another Linux and MacOS, nothing works!!
So, this process of kernel change could cause some hardware damage?
I really can't change the kernel in cwm recovery?
Just to recall, I can change the battery, got the phone in fasboot/flash mode, got CWM working, install new ROM but, or finish with bootloop or with black screen.

can u help me with links?
Currently running JB with root and cwm. I've been trying to unlock my bootloader, but failing horribly.
I have Windows 8, and the main problem is that I can't boot into fast mode, windows doesn't recognize the USB unit and it immediately disconnects. I tried the fastboot win8 drivers guide on top of this forum, but I'm not sure if it worked due to phone disconnecting, starting, and generally acting like a *****.
What should I do? I'd really like to unlock my bootloader, but I don't even know if I have installed the fastboot drivers
Download the flashtool and install the provide driver and use fastboot package to unlock your bootloader !

Hi,
i'm trying to flash kernel to my st15i under win8.1.
Application and drivers are installed corectly, but after connecting phone in fastboot mode there is a message:
"USB device not recognized"
Under win7 there was no problem (the same procedures, the same PC, the same phone, flashtool 0.9.11.0)

Windows 8 has new type of security, that disallows installing unsigned drivers. Thereby fastboot drivers are not installed.
Follow this guide to install fastboot drivers: http://flashtool.net/disabledrivers.html

I'm affraid that your guide helps in win8 not 8.1, where there is no problem with installing drivers. Drivers are installed without any problems like in win8. Problem appears while you try to connect phone in fastboot mode.

Yes, you are right, something is wrong.
But drivers are installed correctly, becouse of lack problem during installation, and final windows info.
It seems that win 8.1 must have new flashtool/fastboot drivers.

Because you have win8.
In 8.1 there isn't active option "Driver signature enforcement" - there is no need to disable it.
.. and "PC settings" are different - this manual doesn't fit.

I seriously doubt, that 8.1 does not have such option.
I will try to look further into that, will update once I find anything.

I've tried this manual, uninstalled/installed few times flashtool/flashtool drivers - nothing changed... please help
This is weird, I am running out of ideas.
One of the last possibilities is that the drivers are not compatible with RC version of 8.1.
i also have the same issue..the pc doesnt recognise the device in fastboot or flashboot mode..
as for my idea, 8.1 is just a preview version..
i have 8.1 installed in pc and 7 in laptop.
so better work in 7 pal.
whenever i need to flash i use 7..
i think there is no solves for this issue..it has to be fixed by microsoft i think..
better you ask the questions to the windows support pages, genius people are waiting out there to help you..
anyways.. cheers!!
Hi, I need help with my Xperia Go since my power button has stopped working and I used to turn on my device via fastboot with flashtool on windows 7 32bit. Now I have Windows 8.1 64bit and I can't even install fastboot drivers. I get error when installing them:

Thanks.
Edit: Ok, I got fastboot drivers installed somehow, now I cant see my device in flashtool. When I boot my xperia to fastboot, it stays there only few secs.
Are you using USB 2 or 3 ports?

disable driver signature enforcement in windows then install drivers using the package given in flashtool or u can install SUS as it installs fastboot drivers by itself. But before anything it is recommended you ,uninstall the drivers which you have currently
