Hi Guys!
My original x10a was sold to a close friend of mine, whom accidently accessed the xRecovery menu, and select to delete the SYSTEM and DATA partition.
Now he is stuck on a endless loop of being on the Sony Ericsson boot logo text screen.
Only way to power off the phone is to physically remove the battery.
Anyways, I am trying to complete a factory reset with the 2.1 firmware, so far, I am out of luck.
I have WIN 7 x64 running, with both 32-bit 64-bit JAVA SE and development
I also have installed Android SDK, wit all the possible packages, including USB Driver Revision 4
I also have Flashtool downloaded from this website, which included the SEMC drivers.
Problem is...I cant get the computer to recognize the phone at all.
I tried even Sony Update Software as well as Companion software, with no luck.
I am physically in flash mode ... solid green LED, but the computer is not detecting the phone at all.
Flashtool is advising to connect my Xperia phone, when clearly my phone has the solid green LED with black screen (hold down back button and connecting the USB)
First I thought it was the cable, which I replaced with a OEM one, still no luck.
I removed the SD card, 16gb from the phone, and connected through my computer for flash memory sticks drive (all in one), and the card was blank.
I am presuming my friend would have deleted SDCARD data as well
So, now I am stuck in a limbo, how do I fix this?
just to give you hope, if you see the se logo that means that your phone isn't bricked.
it's probably some driver that's not installed properly. I'll let someone with real knowledge explain whatto do.
Something like this happened to me. I know it sounds stupid, but have you tried rebooting your computer?? I did that, and it worked again.
Uninstall SEUS,PC Companion and then reboot the PC.
Then download SEUS and install it. Start SEUS , go through the process. It should detect it now.
Can you access xrecovery? If you Can, download a custom ROM, follow the instructions to install.
Don't forget to extract your ROM to sdcard.

Hi All!
Thanks for the input, I do appreciate it.
I am at work right now, but will try it this evening and let you know how it proceeds.
Just as an FYI, I did restart my computer once the Java, SE Companion, SEUS, and Google SDK were installed, still had no luck, but I will try again
To access the xRecovery, it is pressing back button couple of times right?
But the SD is blank, should I use a PC to initialize the SDcard with Xrecovery and everything?
Try this steps...
1-Download a custom ROM to your sdcard and extract. (Use your PC)
2-Reboot your x10 and press a back buton many times.
3-Make following in Xrecovery
*Factory reset
*Wipe cache partition
*Wipe dalvik cache
*Wipe Battery stats
*Install custom ZIP
*Reboot
*Let the phone 5 minutes alone please...

you gotta uninstall seus and pc companion, and uninstall all the x10 drivers, then reinstall seus and pc companion
Hi why don't you use flashtool to flash a new rom? I had read in somewhere else here about this tool and seems to work flawlessly to recover bricked xperia..
End of Life ....
Hi Guys!
Sorry for the late reply,
Been extremely busy with work.
Anyways, it seems I got myself a malfunctioning motherboard or broken/damaged usb connector.
Thus, I can't do anything, it is going to cost me $150 bucks to repair.
I cant get into flash mode, as soon as I do that (the green led), windows states that USB device has malfunctioned and my Xperia continuous to the boot logo screen and stuck there.
I tried just about everything, unless anyone else knows better way?
Just to prove the USB connector is damaged, the wall-charger is not even working when the USB is connected
This sounds really extreme. Can you charge the phone? Can you connect the phone to the computer and get a solid green light - ie - flash mode?
I've encountered a similar problem, the battery is completely drained, so much so that it can not connect to the wall charger, can not connect to anything at all.. just gives three flashes of red led then stops.
The only solution is to charge the battery for a few minutes in another X10 and then with enough power, get back into the phone for long enough to re-establish charge being sent to the battery.
IF you have charge and are able to get to the white SE logo, you just need to use the SEUS software to force restore of the stock firmware.

Just one more question, have you tried changing the USB port? Sometimes the device ID gets messed up and the only way is to switch to another USB port and make sure the phone connects to the computer with the USB cable and that you have a device id.
EDIT: Worth looking into these two threads;

Problem is I am not sure what your exact problem is as I would like to help more!
The newest version of Flash Tool has drivers package included, it worked for me without installing (or reinstalling) SEUS or PC Companion. Look for a 'drivers' subfolder inside the extracted files.
Can you charge the phone?
My USB port has completely died and I've not a working phone even, so I'm unable to work on custom kernels or anything - I don't have an X10 any-more until this USB port on the phone gets re-soldered
Friends,
I am in a fix here.
I had installed ""Simplistic ICS >>A SuperLite ROM (RC5 Is here finally!)"" yesterday, and since it was hannging too much, i thought of installing another rom, but this is what i did wrong:
- I formatted system, data and sd card
since I thought I will mount usb storage and move/copy the new rom file in cwm
but now when i do that i get error: unable to open ums lunfile
when i do into download mode to flash via odin, odin doesnt recognise my device
and when i connect my usb in recovery mode, windows fails to regozne my device and gives error of usb malfunction
i have installed usb drivers(1.4) , kies etc.. and tried using adb, but adb gives an error too of not recognising the device
with no rom file in my sd card, im stuck. please help!
Thanks
Looks like you have wiped the phone its empty nothing on it .
I formatted system, data and sd card
Flash stock rom via ODIN .
No download = Service Centre no warranty as custom rom or try JTAG machine .
Old bootloaders then a USB jig may boot to download mode .
jje
Try different usb cable. Had the exact same problem.
Sent from my good old Galaxy S II. Hit thx if u think i helped and may the force be with u.
try the usb jig in the phone's download mode (Volume Down+Power button+Home button)
You can buy USb jig from ebay india.
Otherwise use ODIN. Make sure you have right ODIN.(download from samfirmware site).
Close kies from task bar and its process after updating it.
Then try connecting your mobile.

Hey,
I have a problem with my V875.
I made an error while flashing the stock ROM, and after that my internal memory was damaged. I was unable to mount and format anything. So, I format everything (except the bootloader) with sp flash tool, but now my phone is dead. The only thing he does is turning on the led when usb charger is plugged (on a computer, or on the charger). And when I unplug it, the led remains on, and I have to remove the battery for turning it off..
I looked for a solution, and now I have the firmware for my device. But I need also the preloader.bin file...
Do anyone have it?
Thank you
Hi guys,
I have an Xperia U and I accidentally managed to wipe it's system partition off. I didn't have a nandroid backup or a rom in my storage( I actually formatted the storage before wiping system). Now my phone can't connect to my pc. I can access the recovery. I tried sideload via recovery but adb won't detect it. I've tried flashtool but it won't detect it either. I checked my drivers by connecting another Xperia u to my pc and it was detected both in flashtool and in adb. What do I do now ? Any help would be appreciated.
Did you try hard resetting the phone with power + volume up button until 3 vibrations?
Hey!
I have a Sony Xperia p and by the way the screen is black no touch no sense.
When I plug the charger the Notification Led works.
I can enter to fast mode and flash mode, so the question is, there is any way to rescue some data inside the internal memory ? Via ADB Shell, Flash tool....
PD: When I enter to flash mode , after one or two minutes, the phone restarts.
PD2: I can't repair this, because I can't find a replacement.
PD3: My phone doesn't have warranty.
PD4: I just want some data .
Also when I turn normally on the phone and plug to the computer, there show me MTP media, but I can't access to the phone. Any idea ?
Thanks !
