i have on my s3(same mountpoint) and on my cousins nexus 5!
aslong as you have a backup you can restore from the tool backup, or go to flash options and select to flash a previously backed up efs image!
I tried restore efs on my note 3 efs even by adb and Odin and other methods like TWRP from my friend's NOTE 3 backup efs.
NOTHING WORK.

Tool does not work for me on kingoapp.com rooted MJ3 N9005.
1) adb remount does not work. Message on phone says: blocked for security reason.
2) adb root does not work. command returns: adbd cannot run as root in production builds.
Can you modify your script to use adb shell and then su to root to make it work on more rooted phones?
EDIT: Script from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2447342 does use shell/su to do the job. busybox must be installed though.

Are you running a leaked firmware, adbd cannot run as root is sue to a patched kernel in leaked build that are still under production
Aldo i was thinking of pushing a script to sdcard and using Shell to trigger it

So, what does this do?
Dump current kernel (and recovery on devices having a seperate one)
Flash kernel from /sdcard/zImage
Flash recovery from /sdcard/recovery.bin
Backup EFS
(as raw .IMG dump and as .TAR archive)
Check/Verify EFS backup (i.e. compare to "live" EFS)
Restore EFS from either .IMG or .TAR
Open stock update .TARs and flash from from it:
- Modem Firmware
- PARAM.LFS
- Kernel
Reboot device
- normally
- to recovery
- to download mode
*) When you check the EFS backup right after you made it, it should show a 100% match to the current phone's EFS.
However, after a reboot, the EFS *does* start to differ a bit - that seems to be normal, during my tests the EFS differed for 80bytes more after each reboot, my original EFS dump even differed by ~150k already

Hope you like it.
If anyone has more suggestions on what would need to be checked/verified during the check operation, do tell
After doing backup I did efs backup check....
And in that it says nv_data.bin not found..
Whts the reason?

For the .img and the .tar or only for one of them?
What does it say for "mount returned:"?
"nv_data.bin not found" means a bad/corrupted backup.
// EDIT
Just saw the screenshot.
Something went wrong making the raw .img dump (weird....).
But the .tar backup is OK (100% match to the phone's one).
Hmm.... gotta investigate the .img issue some more.
Check this;
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
OK, that helps a lot already.
The efs.img dump might be all fine and OK, it's actually a problem getting it mounted to "look into it".
Dug around some more and also found this:
Code:
2: system error (out of memory, cannot fork, no more loop devices)
"2" was the returncode you got during the check, fits with the verbose error message you get when trying the mount from a shell.
Cool, at least I know where to look, not exately sure why this happens, but we'll find out.
Maybe a busybox thing, maybe I'll bundle one with the app....
thanks for updating~~~

Well, in a way.
IIRC the shell command "cp" (to copy files) is not available on stock Samsung kernels, and the app just calls "cp" instead of (like for most of the other shell commands used by the app) using "busybox cp" to call/use the busybox applet of the command.
As said, I'll try, check and hopefully fix this later tonight and if all goes well will have an update ready by tomorrow
Published v1.23 with the above issue fixed

Yes, if you enter the next command after flash which is "wipe data"
No, if you just reboot after flash.

Thank you very much for your answer.
One more stupid question since I'm a newbie in xiaomi devices.
How to enter the adb debugging mode and how to enter the adb command, should I use my PC? And in what state the phone should be flashed with this rom? In bootloader screen, download mode screen, fastboot screen, or just simply flash it with the phone on?
Thank you very much for your kind explanation.
It will be very nice if you can explain the steps in detail since I'm not familiar with this method. I used to play with flashing in TWRP recovery

Great effort !! Flashed it already, and it works good
To install this rom, do I need to install V7.2.4.0 and root first? I am currently on V7.1.3.0.
?Nougat!!!?Successfully flashed Twrp and rooted my VIE-AL10 in
Hello everyone !
I'm a normal user of P9plus(AL10) and using the EMUI5.0 (Android 7.0)
Firstly I am looking forward to getting matchable TWRP here but failed , so I turned to other forums and get up the nerve to use TWRP for the Honor 8 . Yes,it works ! and then,i rooted my AL-10 !
Here is the thread

I didn't patch boot because I was afraid that would made my phone goes bad .As a result,my root is not complete.
By the way ,the new TWRP 3.0.3 for Honor 8 by the same person doesn't work on our P9plus ,I have tried it:crying:
I hope that there would have official/unofficial TWRP correctly for P9plus!
Works on L09 too i used the phh su. it works for me

Unblock the bootloader as we do in EMUI 4.X , then flash TWRP with adb or other tools , there are so many guides in XDA or other websites. Then we could boot into recovery and flash superuser to root our device.
All we do it as before , except the different recovery.i mg .
The unpleasant place is that the recovery can not mount /data , and we should mount /sdcard ourselves. The new update seems to repair this but we ,p9plus couldn't use it. :crying:
As I said before ,the root is not complete, sometimes I can't do chages to system files.
Good stuff! I see Titanium works and Greenify works under the root mode, Secure Settings is able to install the system module as well.
Just so that everyone is clear, the TWRP flash is here: https://mega.nz/#!foR2DTRa!XjXjOVl4ykYzm3iyBknwFkxugj9z8zxch3mU1O7F7GE, data and system partitions can't be mounted properly on this version of TWRP but at least you can boot into it.
And you have to use the phh's SuperSu: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/wip-selinux-capable-superuser-t3216394, the regular Supersu doesn't work (lead to device reboot).
Is anyone able to flash anything using the twrp though? This is the only thing that would seem to help me.

Don't think you can if you can't mount the data partition. Sorry.

I tried to do a backup and I can't mount anything. I can check off /system in mount option but not /data. But once I do a backup with twrp it everything can't be mount (system, data, cache, etc)
do you still need the recovery image? i am not too sure how to adb pull from my device.... can't seem to find the file directory? any direction would be nice and ill copy it for you.... thanks

Pretty much the same. system and data both aren't mounted.
pan.baidu.com/s/1nuIjxYp
kangvips twrp good work on p9p
but for data mounting you need to do format data in this twrp

not sure that would work because the problem with 7.0 and emui 5 is that it encrypts the /data partition.
thats bcs i told about format data!
...-be sure! i try...)
