I've done some basic google searching on this and I guess this has been an issue/discussion since older Galaxies?
In one plain/simple answer, what is the point of using this tool and what are the benefits? Excuse my ignorance but I'm just plain interested and dont know what it does?
I messed up my imei on my S5 so I used this tool to back up my other S5 and I restored all files to my messed up S5, worked fine, I'm surprised it did without any issue by using another phone's backup.

Waiting for device
*daemon not running, starting it now on port 5037 *

Does this indicate a connection issue?

Looking at the partition dump of the SG-900H, the partition table is a bit different than our SM-G900P.
Here is the partition table for the SM-G900P, would you mind adding support for this device as well please?

What is the advantage to locking the bootloader once you are finished?
Also, not that it matters, but will your phone stop receiving OTA updates if you root it?

I would love to apply this ROM to my C6806 but I have always been using VRoot to root my phone. If I backup the TA partition (which I have) and unlocked the bootloader, will it be possible to put my device back to it's original stock configuration (stock ROM, locked bootloader, TA intact) for warranty purposes?

yeah the tool specifically made for backing up your TA says that when you restore, it relocks the bootloader as if it were never unlocked. so this means that Sony wouldn't even be able to tell? although i bet if you use the Sony unlock, they have a record of sending the unlock code for your device IMEI. i guess using Flashtool to unlock would bypass this?

It is because it's more difficult to develop anything for Exynos devices
Qualcomm devices (than the S5 G900F) are much more open source than Exynos. It's for this two reasons &
certainly for anothers one. Exynos always gave headaches to devs, and you can be sure it will never more developed than the Snapdragon
variant...

Flashing any (unsigned) tar file via odin triggers knox.

Yes. Any unsigned binary that you flash into your device will trip Knox.

I am not sure about that.but this only applys to the apps which takes IMEI from the code above.
But Networks providers will be able to take original values as they use the Sim card to trace the device.
This application is to test some other application which works with unique IMEI so that developers can work with same device by using this mod

It's fine – it's only masking the IMEI for apps (to e.g. protect your privacy).
Hi, Thanks for trying out the Mod
If anyone can fins any other methods to find IMEI please share it here.
Pretty sure my IMEI will be denied but thanks for the app!

I'm very new to "unlocking mobile devices" world! Before 3 weeks ago I thought unlock your phone meant type your password to see your phone screen.
I'm playing with a blacklisted sgh-m919 running 4.2.2 with a 4.3 modem
I down graded from 4.4.4 (which was most pain in the azz to do) tripped Knox in the process.
Changing imei using this was extremely easy for me and worked perfectly! Got it on my second try. Thanks much for it!
