I found that post on 4pda (Russian forum about mobile devices). Payback uploaded there hacked x-loader and u-boot. But it isn't work.
Month later after payback's post Ricardo Cerqueira found way to unlock their smartphones (link). It works, but not at all. Many people (especially with T-Mobiled L9, if my memory serves me) can't do it.
So, I thought: how about getting x-loader, u-boot and other loaders from unlocked device? Is this possible and usable?
Glad to see people actually attacking this. Sadly, I don't know. I mod, but I don't develop/crack on my own. @Lelus should look into this if he hadn't already.
I read somewhere that LG made it near impossible on most Optimus phones. You need not only unlockable firmware, but also the correct driver to enter the bootloader, wait from 30 minutes to an hour, sacrifice a goat, get the whisker of a tiger....lol. :sly:

@thasilenthacker...are you tmobile branded p769? I'm confused whether to call it p769 BK if someone could straighten that out for me. And if anyone has anything I can do to contribute to a concise and orderly bootloader unlock method I'm willing to sacrifice my tmob p769. Where are we at exactly, besides a dead end, I mean what are some/the reasons why we are unable to do what we want to do.

i have a lgms769 its the same as p769 but for metro i flashed the euro v20b a 2nd time and waited about an hour with wifi and data on and sent the command and boom it worked i screamed i was so happy and scared the sh*t out of my friend lol
but i think a key detail was that it came with v10b and i restored a v10d backup and on the kdz flasher it still showed my bin was 10b so i think a key point in flashing is still to have the original firmware on the phone without flashing a new one accept for the v20b kdz then it should work.

Hmmm. Good advice! So I may need to flash my phone with the ROM that it came with originally? But mine came with Jelly Bean.....and the tutorial says that it must have ICS first installed for it to work.
Is there a way to switch the bin I have with an ICS one? This is such a hot mess...lol.
Sent from my LG-P769 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
i have no idea how it works really but for lgms769 v10b is 4.1.2 so its jellybean, you can make a nandroidbackup with recovery and then flash back the original firmware then root and install cwm and restore that latest firmware and when you go to flash the 20b kdz it should say android bin version:v10b in example for me it did, on the console of the lg flash tool.
you can try its worth a shot but that was the 2nd time i tried the v20b kdz flash cause like you might know from villans thread thanks to his villan pack crap i permanetely damaged my old phone so this was the replacement same exact phone but it unlocked so i was happy and i say kudos to villan.co
So you had 4.1.2 then flashed to euro 20b? If that's the case, then it's not necessary to flash ICS. OMG.....:banghead:
We need a new tutorial? Maybe?

Hi all
I was wondering if the file /init.lge.early.rc is replaced while kdz flashing (i think it is)
Cause in that file have this part of code:
#####################################
# Secure boot
########################################
on boot
# [START][20111216, [email protected]]
exec /sbin/wallpaper -ap
wait /sbin/wallpaper
# [END] [20111216, [email protected]]

If we comment that secureboot part, what will happen?

Well i coulsnt resist, so i changed /default.prop and set ro.secure=0
I changed too /init.lge.early.rc and commented those line i said above and rebooted the device
Idk if its because im on ics, but the files went back to normal. Idk where and it happens on boot, if somebody could help me it will be much appreciated

Scored in terminal sbin/wallpaper -ap,that it meant(BL locked):
What does this mean?:
To change init.lge.early.rc(is part of the ram-disk)...must disassemble boot.img in the kitchen
If I opened box with ics on tmob p769, is it "thought" to be easier unlocking bl?

Hi,
I am using a rooted, bootloader unlocked phone (LG L9 P765 V20A).
I have just checked for an update via settings->check software update and the phone showed me a screen that an upgrade is available named v20B.
I want to know If I update, then will I loose my root and unlocked bootloader ?
Can I update my rooted phone without any problems?

Yes, it will fail (if artas182x locked Bootloader cwm) you will need to remove it properly.
And you will get a boot loop with a custom recovery you will need to flash the stock the stock recovery first.

Yes, that is all that I do as well. I have had this phone since v10e and with every update I never did reflash any recovery but it's better to be safe than sorry. Also, don't forget to put all of the apps back that you may have deleted. And get rid of link2sd (unlink before you uninstall the program). And get rid of busybox. . .look it's just better if you flash a new ROM. Oh yeah and download and install voodoo rootkeeper then hit the save root button at the bottom before you do the OTA. Good luck everyone!

Yeah, I'm pretty confused myself about it. I have seen some complaints about 20f with the random rebooting issue and whatnot but nothing big. From what Kuma said it's nothing big at all. He said he was on it for a bit but not long enough to test it. So I"m assuming its still 4.1.2 but can't confirm just yet. I don't want to flash the ROM just yet but if I get bored tonight then I just might do so. . .
Whatever it is, t-mobile has the optimus l9 now listed as having 4.2.

but the good news is that it can be rooted with the lgpwn method. So let's recount here. I found this earlier this afternoon on my web cruise. I decided to download it and share with you guys. Now I installed the update and it's still 4.1.2. If it is true that T-Mobile is going to upgrade to 4.2 then this ROM is probably just a test until they are ready to give the OTA. I believe T-Mobile made an error. They have had it posted for like at least a month on their website that the L9 has 4.2, and nobody has confirmed getting 4.2. At one point, the listing even said the T-Mobile L9 had NFC as well as 4.2.
It still says that actually. Checked it today.

I think you already run JB and that's why it will stop between 4-14% anywhere. Try getting into the software upgrade mode and install the v20a firmware.
After you update don't try to install any official update from LG. This would not allow you to unlock your boot loader.
Just install Tue firmware and unlock the boot loader.
Good luck

Yeah, that's maybe because you're already on JB firmware. To install offline KDZ in an offline mode, you'll face a break between 4-14%. Try following cmahedra's guide to flash offline kdz firmware. It must get you out of this problem.
Remember, some bootloaders cannot be unlocked. Try it once though.
And check is it all big letters must be V20A not v20A or v20A !!!

Yep! flashed that from the Moonshine thread.
I have literally gone from start to finish on every possible fix. I'm not 100% sure but if i had a modified Hboot and then relocked everything i think its a brick.
Never ever had an issue like that before. Tried to do it real quick without reading and brick it is! hahah Guess everyone has to learn some time!

No, i do not have a custom recovery anymore. clicking recovery only takes me to the HTC recovery which ends up rebooting after 3 minutes and then freezes at the white HTC screen.
From my understanding u still can flash a boot.IMG of a ROM.

If s-on, boot.img must be pulled from Rom, and flashed in fastboot.
That's what the post says but I will try it at least.. I'm s-on and locked, so my guess is that this won't work. I've tried the full decrypted ruu flash via fastboot and it fails. I will try this though tonight

I flashed the firmware from moonshines thread.
and i posted that last thread where they ruled it was impossible to fix unless we had the new RUU. per beaups ....... JTAG also would be a solution

Search my post history. There a thread with same issue. The ruu creates a temp zip which can be flashed in fastboot. It might even be in my s-on thread like 10-20 pages from the end

Please DO NOT flash a recovery, modem, or rom without backing up your current ones! There's no way to retrieve/restore those files. IF YOUR ON ANY BUILD OTHER THAN OYUAMDK PLEASE LET US KNOW!
Its come to my attention that OYUDMI1 and OYUEMJ7 builds are in the wild.
BACK UP SCRIPT: Run in Terminal Emulator and zip the output

Yea, I read too quickly. There's no OTA for this MJ7 build. It seems to be shipping on new DE's. Come on, Samsung! Get with the damn program here. At least with an OTA I can make the signed modems and recovery. Although, what's the point of recovery if there's no OTA?!?! The DE's really got screwed here.

It's all part of the plan guys, Verizon is trying to get rid of developers and Samsung has become their lap dog. Lack of support for dev devices will eventually drive people like us to other carriers and brands. So Samsung will get what's coming to them in the end if they keep going down this road. Motorola learned the hard way and they did a 180 because they realized they NEED devs. Who does samsung think recommends their devices? People like us lol.
This came with the new S4 Verizon DE I ordered last week from Samsung and I provided the details to Surge. Unfortunately I had stupidly already tried to flash the OYUAMDK .tar originally compiled by him, and it overwrote the baseband version shown in that screenshot originally to I545OYUAMDK from the original I545OYUEMJ7 that it came with. This attempt, while succeeding for the baseband version, did not actually update other details of the phone to OYUAMDK, so it appears as of right now from what I know, it isn't possible to downgrade even a developer edition phones firmware from 4.3 OYUEMJ7 to 4.2 OYUAMDK...
The device came with 4.3 / Knox installed, as well as the flags seen on consumer versions when you do actually get into Download/Odin mode with KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x1 flagging now too after I originally flashed CWM via Odin.
Was unable to install any AOSP ROMs on it too, which was interesting and something I know Surge is looking into after I provided the remainder of the OYUAEMJ7 files with his script listed on post #1. This was even with trying to install a new kernel (tried KT) after flashing, and additionally trying to flash the original dev_modules.zip that is listed in that 60-70 page thread for all things related to the S4 Dev edition.
Because of that, I've since initiated a return to Samsung, as I thought with the DE I would have no issues getting an AOSP ROM installed and running with the unlocked bootloader. As that is now shown to not be the case, at least as of right now, I'm just sticking with the consumer Verizon S4 for right now. Am contemplating returning that too as I'm still within my 14 day return window and going with something easier to work with like the HTC One or LG G2.
