Hey guys I bought a s3 i9300 1 month ago used. When I got it, it was rooted and had a custom recovery. After a few hours it started freezing then restarting. I then flashed android revolution HD 32.0 based on 4.2.2 leak and it hasn't rebooted or froze once to date. My problem is whenever I install any custom ROM Samsung based or stock Google based it keeps on rebooting and freezing except android revolution HD. Why does it do that? I want to install liquid smooth for better memory management but I can't because of this! I have cwm 6.0.xx BTW. (Can't remember the exact version ) I'm not new to flashing and rooting but any help will be appreciated.

did you try to install an actual official firmware? not "stock based" you may want to try flashing a firmware from sammobile using odin. this will let you know if the issue is hardware related. if you are running anything custom IE rom, recovery or kernel. that could be the cause. best way to find out is to get your phone back to stock. if the probems persist than probably you have a hardware problem. read the stickies for instrucions on how to return to stock. good luck

Hi,
I'm a newbie w/ android and I made the mistake to upgrade to the ICS version of Samsung note i717. Unfortunately, my experience with it has been quite poor due to the severe lags and hangups.
However, I have been unable to go back to the stock AT&T or Samsung version that the phone came with. I didnt save a backup of the original version. Is there any way to fix this?
I tried installing a ROM that some one made of the AT&T version earlier, but the phone would not boot after that (It would get stuck in the SAMSUNG screen at boot) and I had to re-install ICS to unbrick the phone.
Any help in this matter would be appreciated.
Thanks
Search or at least look in the development section where there is the Odin to stock AT&T GB

Hello,
Long time reader here. I finally made an account recently because I finally wanted to Root my phone and mess around with Cyanogenmod.
My question is this: I have an unlocked, unbranded Samsung GT-i9300 that I purchased from Newegg back in the summer time and I have still yet to receive any sort of update (still on 4.0.4). Can someone explain to me the whole stock updates scenario? I would have thought buying an unlocked, unbranded phone I would have at least gotten updates faster than the Verizon S3. Now.. I know I can flash Cyanogenmod and be done with it. Which I have which leads me to the last question. What happens if I flash my phone with the 4.1.2 stock rom that was just released in Poland recently? Will it work? Why wouldn't it? Does the baseband really matter as far as compatibility? (PDA? CSC?)
Thank you for your time.
I answered my own questions. Thanks for looking
I was so excited I forgot to elaborate a little.
I was successfully able to root my phone using cf root / odin, install clockworkmod recovery, install cyanogenmod 10 then re-flash back to stock using triangleaway, and a stock rom from samsung firmware using odin.
I had thought I bricked my phone when it was in an endless loop on the splash screen but I was able to get into android recovery mod and do a format/wipe/clean cache. *phew*
Okay...I have had this problem for a while now and cant find a solution to the current problem. Here goes. I have the Samsung Galaxy Note I717M. This is the Canadian version to the AT&T Note I717 I have been rooting my phones for several years now and pretty familiar with the ongoings of the whole process. I rooted my phone via ODIN and put a custom rom onto my Note with no problems. Everything works great! Where I run into a problem is when I decided to go with the Jellybean update 4.2.2. The Jellybean rom I am using is called Jellybam version 7.8.0. ParanoidAndroid Ver. 3.15 quincyatt_jb-mr1_build-6. When I installed it everything seemed to work fine for the first couple of days. All of a sudden my phone started to freeze where everything was non functioning. This frozen state would last for about 15 seconds then my screen would go completely light blue for another 5 to 10 seconds then turn off and reboot. It doesnt do this with any 4.2.1 custom roms. Only with the 4.2.2 version. Does anyone have this similiar problem? Is there a fix for this? I love my custom 4.2.2 rom and dont want to go back to any other earlier Android OS and rom. Can someone shed some light as to what is happening and is there a proceedure that needs to be followed or done differently so that this doesn't continues to happen. Or yet again is the a know issue? Any insight to fixing this problem would be greatly appreciated! I await your helpfull tools and hints. Any help I will be happy with.
thanks Guys
Paul
This is a known issue on Kelly bean roms. Oddly, most people are having less reboots with the new 4.2.2 over the 4.1.2 .... The issue is the kernel. There is no source to build from yet. So ... There are issues.
I have had a lot of freezing and reboots on many of the jelly roms. I'll tell you that you rom, jellybam, is not supported on xda.
I'm am currently on the unofficial AOKP and having great luck. You may want to give it a go.
Hi all
Im new to android and have been tweaking my samsung s4 for a couple of months now. I have a Samsung S4 GT I9505 with TWRP boot recovery , nova launcher prime and KitKat 4.4 Google play edition Rom. I have also flashed Faux Kernel onto my phone to prevent random restarts. The problem is I am still getting restarts (about 8 a day) the problem was a lot worse before I re-flashed it with the same kernel. I have tried flashing it again but I still get the same problem. Also some of my apps restart more often then before I had the custom ROM (GPE)
I am not 100% sure what the kernel does. What is the purpose of it. Are there others I can use, where can I get them from ?
Help would be most appreciated
Thanks
Aiden

Hey guys,
I assume that someone has previously posted a thread about this issue but my attempts to reach any have proved pointless.
Therefore I hope someone could just enlighten me as to what I could do to solve this issue.
I flashed this aosp rom on my Galaxy SIII (I9300 international) but I decided to go back to the custom stock rom I was previously using but when I tried to restore my backup the phone got stuck in bootloop in the samsung loading screen.
Thus, I tried to flash a new custom rom from the ground up the the phone is still behaving the same way.
Can someone help out, please?
Thanks in advance!
Cheers!
I would advise you to use this rom (its build on touchwhizz but with many improvements)

Use Odin to return your phone to official stock... if stuck in bootloop after flashing boot into recovery and factory reset.Once you have your phone up and running then you can go back to flashing a custom rom.
