No Service after SBF? - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
I have a Korean Model Motorola Atrix 4G, after doing all the pudding process i succesfully unlocked the bootloader, and finally installed CWM as well, after that (the mistake - didn't made NANDROID) , I flashed the ElmasROM CM7 , the ROM boots but there is no IMEI, Baseband etc... actually i did everything from Froyo... now would like to know if the fruitcake process is safe way of getting back IMEI etc, or is there any other method?
(Totally new, but i have explored all the common threads, but everyone updated their thread with just fixed fixed..)
Best
UPDATE:
Ok , so i fixed it , here is the solution if someone else have the same problem and reaches here, be sure i have KOREAN version.

Bell Atrix failed 2.2->2.3.4 update.

I'm a Canadian Bell user.
I've been using Android 2.2, rooted, with a little OEM bloat removed (ashphalt demo etc.). The phone decided to update to the OTA 2.3, and bricked. I flashed to OLYEM_U4_2.1.1_SIGNED_UCAOLYPORTFR_P014_A004_M001_HWolympus_1g_1FF.sbf A Bell firmware it seems, though not quite the same as the original.
Which seems to work (I have no internet, but it seems I can call/text, it'll do for I came across http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195922&page=14
I then attempted to use Bell GB 2.3.4, so I rooted, installed ROM MANAGER, unlocked the bootloader, flashed tenfar's CWM, pulled the SIM, but kept the MicroSD in (the ROM is on the MicroSD) and then attempted to flash the 2.3.4 Bell GB leak.
First time,

Updating System...
assert failed: package_extract_file("system.img". "/internal/app.bin")

So, I reflashed , rooted. etc. and tried again, and it froze this time at Updating BP...
Third times the charm right? aborted at the same stage as the first time.
Can someone please just call me a idiot and tell me I'm missing something silly? I read that someone else had the same error, but it worked the second try for them.
ok so first the 2.1.1 rom is the retail france rom not bell (thus why you didn't have any internet as your apns wouldn't be loaded)
I would try putting the file on the internal memory and flashing it again
I assume the cwm you have is this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1138541

I can't remember how I found it to be honest, but thank you very much for informing me. Yes, that is the CWM I have.
I will try again right away.
OP, I am slightly puzzled. You were running the stock Bell 2.2 and it decided to update to 2.3 ?? The official Bell update is out ?

You don't flash it with recovery you flash it with RSD Lite. It's a .sbf file not a zip file There's a billion threads on this already

Not quite sure about that, though I do know Bell wanted me to update my phone when I already had 2.2, and I must've accepted at some point, bricking my phone.
Now I'm racking my head over this, I've meticulously gone through the procedure, and I don't know what's wrong.
Flash the French 2.2 SBF
Root
Unlock bootloader
Install CWM (tried Tenfar's and another by romracer)
Install 2.3.4.zip (from both external and internal memory)
Still get the same error message at the end.

I flashed the SBF with RSDlite, and izip from CWM.
could have been the 2.2.2 update.
have you tried to re-download the file? wondering the if the system.img file got damaged some how.
you shouldn't need to flash the french rom again (outside of just to have a device that boots)

clear your data as well

i got this problem fixed by placing in ext sdcard instead of internal memory.
Thank you very much Spuzzum. That was exactly what I needed. Though I must say, going from the stock Bell rom to a modified Alien rom is quite the change. Motorola was nice enough to save my contacts and google my calender events.

Edit:
I can't actually seem to differ from what I did and what the instructional video showed, other than loading a different ROM.
I still can't seem to access 2G from my phone though. Not like I need it when I'm in the city, but I'd prefer to use it when I'm out of the city and have to go several days without a charge.
Same problem
hi Guys.. I am having the same problem. I flashed the french SBF now multiple times, rooted, installed Tenfar's recovery and then tried to recover using either the bell 2.2.2 or bell 2.3.4 and both give me error while using recovery. The errror is assert failed , installation aborted. I also had my bootloader unlocked but that didnt help either. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Bell atrix issues
hey, so when i try to update my phone throws an error saying i dont have "qik.apk" in my system folder. i had this issue before with the random bloat demos the atrix comes packed with, i was able to add the demos to the system folder using su in the terminal and putting the .apk files that i found on the internet into the folder. but for some reason i do not have super user rights anymore (even though the super user app is still installed)
is there any way to fix this so i can update my phone?

Did you have tenfars recovery installed? Don't use any other recovery other than the tenfar recovery for unlocked devices.. Gobstopper will fail if you try with other recoveries..
In the original gobstopper 2.2.2 post, there's instructions on how to find the proper recovery for your phone..
You can also use the Gobstopper for 2.3.4 and just skip the extra upgrade. I had the same problem, but with the PortalApp APK.

thanx for the reply!!! No solution!!
i got tenfar's latest CWM and i try to install 2.3.4 from bell but i get error gameloft_3game.zip than i try the old 2.2.2 godstopper and i get an error message saying updating osh.bin (webtop mmcblk0p13)..

[Q] Restore Recovery Image *How to know what Androiid Version it has

Hi
So I bought this Atrix from eBay for my bro and it came with CM7.1 Olympus with Unlocked BL, cause it said UNLOCKED while turning it on, he didnt like it o found no use for it, since he doesnt mess a lot with all the features.
So I flashed the latest 2.3.4 Firmware 4.5.91 SBF ATT via RSD, it booted after done, then after a few hours it turned off by itself while in stand by i guess and gave me an error I include in the attachments. I flashed it again just in case (it happened to me once with a SE X10a and reflash worked like a charm).
Now it turns out everything worked, but still from time to time it turns off by itself. I searched online and that seems to be a problem with GB 4.5.91. I made a Recovery img then I went back to CM7, the same it had and still the same turning off by itself.
The point is the phone came with all the CM7 files and etc in the MicroSD which I didnt noticed before, BESIDES THERES a RECOVERY File in there.
I want to make the Restore with the file but WHAT if that recovery file is from an earlier Android Version and now that I flash the 4.5.91 and it has a Unlocked BootLoader, it BRICKS the phone.
The question is, Is there any way in which I can Identify what Android Version that recovery file has so I dont brick this Atrix????
I'm attaching some pics I took of the About phone area BEFORE I flash the OEM 2.3.4 ATT 4.5.91
P.D. I did search on the internet and here before posting.
I also contacted the original owner and he has no idea of what version it had before. "Whatever stock was he says"
Thanks!!!!!

[Q] bricked my phone trying to install olympus cyanogenmod 9, help?

hey guys, first post here: i just bought the atrix 4g, got it in the mail today, used the 1-click rooter to unlock the bootloader, then to root. then i installed cyanogenmod 9- i followed instructions appropriately, but the phone hangs at the motorola logo screen at boot-up and does nothing more. i tried re-flashing, fixing permissions, clearing dalvik cache, nothing works.
edit- i installed cyanogenmod9 through clockworkmod, by installing zip from internal
i was going to re-flash stock rom, but i cant get internal storage to mount from clockworkmod (no sd card), so i cant get the stock file over to the phone to flash, so im bricked.
any thoughts/advices? thanks in advance, after not having a phone for near a week, id kinda like to make a call

You bricked your phone, not cyanogenmod ...
Restore a backup, your phone should work.
hm, can anyone tell me, why i cant get internal storage to mount from clockworkmod? is this a common problem?
i dont understand what went wrong for me, when i followed the same steps that many others did.

Your phone is not a paperweight, just not boot the operating system
You did a backup with CWM? restore a backup as Emerson says
You can borrow a sd card copy there CM7 and install from the sdcard
You can also use RDS to install a stock rom
Never install a rom without having an one that you know works 100%
AND ALWAYS READ ALL FAULTS AND SOLUTIONS BEFORE INSTALLING A CUSTOM ROM
ok guys, i went and bought an sd card, clockworkmod mouted it fine, i found and copied over to the sd card android 2.34 for atrix, it flashed fine and my phone is back up.
can you gentleman tell me, whats a good solid rom to flash? cyanogen mod 9 obviously didnt work for me. id like to get started setting up the phone, so i need a good rom to begin with.
thanks to everyone in advance
Go with montouri's version of cm7.2 ,mrom-Olympus you can find it in the developer section. Its my daily driver. Its the most stable and has the best battery life out of all the roms that I've tried
motoxrcr1 thanks for the recommendation, running m-rom now and it runs smooth.
the first time i tried to install it, it hung at the boot logo, then i got to thinking maybe i better try updating clockworkmod, turned out that clockworkmod 4.0X that was installed by the 1-click rooter, is rather old, so i found and updated to 5.XX. tried re-flashing m-rom again, and it worked fine that time.
older clockworkmod, that's probably what caused my original problem with cyanogenmod 9..
does mrom support overclocking? not that i guess i need it, but just to know for future reference
thanks!
the trouble i caused myself, was all due to flashing the rom from an older version of clockworkmod.. after updating to a newer version 5.xx, it flashed fine

[Q][SOLVED] Sim card not detected after installing TWRP

Hello all. I'm fairly new to rooting and installing ROMs and what not. I've done a lot of research, checked many many threads, but this is the first time I've had an issue that I just can't find the solution to. I have a rooted i9305 with everything stock except recovery. I recently flashed TWRP 2.8.7.0 with Odin3 v1.85 over CWM Recovery after I couldn't copy backups made with CWM to my computer because it hides it or something and TWRP doesn't apparently. Anyway after I booted it up after making sure the recovery flashed properly (it seemed fine) my phone booted straight in to the home screen and I couldn't connect to mobile data. Normally it asks me to input my pin to access my sim card. Now when I select mobile data it tells me to insert a sim card. Anyway I couldn't figure out how to access my sim card and I'm fairly sure it has something to do with TWRP or the install processes.
I flashed CWM back but the problem still persists. I read it might have something to do with mounting? CWM only says unmount /cache, meaning everything else is unmounted I think? Before I reflashed CWM, TWRP said only two things were mounted and it wouldn't let me tick the box for sd card.
Please help. My phone is basically useless at the moment. Any advice will be appreciated.
EDIT (SOLVED): After trying almost everything else I gave up and decided to flash stock, even though I never flashed another ROM. Anyway I found a copy of stock with the exact same android version (4.3), same CSC and same PDA/AP. I flashed it with odin and it seemed to fix everything. We are going to backup efs folder now just encase anything goes wrong. Some symptoms apart from not being able to connect to the network/sim card not working include the IMEI number being null (see below for how I did that) an unknown baseband (in settings, under about phone, under status) and missing /nv_data files in the efs folder (found with a root explorer/adb). Search for these symptoms when you are looking for solutions. There are a lot of other things I tried before trying this that just might work for others who only have some of these symptoms (e.g. no IMEI number but a known baseband).
Did a some more research after I had some rest. Now think it might have something to do with the IMEI number being lost. I checked my IMEI by entering *#06# in the keypad on in the phone app and it opens IMEI / MEID with a popup saying IMEI null / null. This seems like a serious problem . While researching no where mentioned this could occur just by flashing a recovery. Can someone with more experience tell me what to do from here please?
EDIT: Done some more research with a friend. We checked the efs folder with adb and found stuff in there and backed it up. I think that's a good sign, since apparently that's where the IMEI number is located. Also we found the baseband is unkown. Not sure what that means. In our backup of efs there is no ".nv_data". Apparently most people say that its basically screwed. I did find one post from a user saying he fixed it using advice from another user. He couldn't link it though cause he was new like men. He said to download SGS3 QCN Generator and QPST 2.7. Does anyone know what this could mean?
Still don't know where to go from here though. Any advice is appreciated.
Solved
Okay I solved the problem. See the OP for how I solved it. I'd like to thank everyone here for the enormous amount of help and support they gave me.
where have I to check for the solution?
Another way to solve this
If this helps anyone, I made a backup of a stock rom (4.4.2) with TWRP and when I restored it, the SIM card was not detected at all. In MTK Engineering Mode/CDS Information/Phone 1 (or whatever number yours is) everthing was at null or unkown. AND i FOUND A WAY TO SOLVE THIS! Flash a ROM that detects the SIM card and enter the IMEI numbers. Then, go to TWRP, DON'T FORMAT ANYTHING and then restore the backup selecting the options to restore that you want (for example boot; nvram; system;... those ones). In my case, I restored all of them and I got it to work! This because the phone memory needs to be installed and with android 4.4.2 kitkat the phone storage is not in the backup, only the system storage. I hope this helps the KitKat users and others (because I've never tested this in other versions)!

Hey, welcome to the forum.
You have to understand, we need more info than that, to help you. So provide at least:
- Phone model number
- Current rom
- The exact files you flashed (if you provide a link is best)
- How you flashed them
- Any other things you have done to your device earlier
Hello, i have this same issue on my samsung G355HN, i followed this guide HERE.
As the guide says i rooted and isntalled the kernel with init.d support, but right after installing it the SIM card is not detected anymore with IMEI Null.
If i restore the boot backup everything works again, but i really want a kernel with init.d, any ideas?
