If you sit on it it won't crack. Considering it's flexible, that should make it almost impossible to break if you drop it. No glass screen to break, self healing backside, only have to worry about the electronics on the inside.

U still can punctured the screen.

Dropped my phone light scratches on physical button

:-( dropped face down on concrete. Happy to say gorilla glass doing its job. Got a light chip on the front bezel and light scratches on the physical button.
Can I do anything about this to even out the scratch or do I have to just move on

Impressed from what height did you drop it?

I got lucky. It was classic concrete in a factory. Dropped from my pants pocket, I'm about 6', so you do the math, ha ha.

there is scratch removal kit for acrylic, not sure it will work, you might want to try it
I would freak out if I drop my new phone lucky nothing broke down.
I don't even dare to think about dropping it. My sg1 was capable of independent flight and survive it due to that little edge around the glass.

I would get a tiny matte finished decal and put it over the button.
Of course this is pretty difficult...

Mine looks like that without a case. The plastic surrounding the lens is just the cheapest crap on earth.

Here's another option. I've been using their cases for years and they are very high quality.

I agree... it's really crummy plastic. But my wife's note 2 camera lens is in much better shape than this after several months
Sent from my SCH-I545 using xda premium
I'm confused, do you not still have the piece of plastic on the lens from factory? That covers the entire thing to the shiny plastic ring.
You have factory plastic on still. That will scratch very easily. Remove it.
Sent from my SCH-I545 using xda app-developers app
Lol.
Looks like the plastic was still on! Hahaha.
Thanks for the heads up dude.
Just peeled it off and the lens looks brand new (because it is).
Now hopefully the plastic screen won't do the same thing to the actual lens.
Can anyone else comment on whether their S-View case is causing damage after the plastic has been removed?
Thanks again

I never noticed it myself either lol.
I am curious.... did removing it make the pictures any better?
The plastic doesn't cover where the lens is actually used for pictures, just the glass around it. I don't think it would make a difference.

Good question.
I honestly can't tell if this camera reacts differently to light than my s3. I feel like the s3 allowed more light in and took “brighter photos" at Lower res.
I'm going to need to mess around with this more to figure out the camera.
To answer your question, I don't know. I need to take some more photos!

Twice unfortunately, once face down onto a tile floor and cracked the LCD display (not the glass though), then a few weeks after getting my replacement it fell getting out of my car and cracked the display again. Ausurion canceled me
never...
All it takes is one drop right on the face to smash the glass. It's a bad design flaw. The glass is glued on so that it sticks out past the bezel. The bezel needs to guard the glass. I hope they fix this on the GN3. Don't carry it around without a case. You'll be sorry.
Dropped it twice on concrete but luckily both times my Otterbox did its job. Definarltely a satisfied customer.

I found out the hard way. I'm using my second GN2 now and it stays in the Otterbox all the time.

Scratch magnet!

Hey guys this is well and truly a sad post
I've had my phone for nearly 3 weeks and on the second day I went out and bought a screen protector and a case for my phone as I wanted to keep it in prestine condition
Unfortunately, they didn't have back protectors. Which is the area that has scrathed the most !
They are light scratches except for one where you can feel it just slightly, and the others ( which there are a lot ) you can't.
I normally have a case on it but when I'm at home I take it out and let it be free aha
Have you guys got ant on yours?
J

I have a few on the back, but it is mostly in a wallet so not too bad. I believe that the back screen protector is east to replace?
I have a couple on the back too, but I don't really care. It's fairly easy to replace that one (or so I've read). No need to get sad

Yup. The glass itself is pretty scratch resistant, but I would put a new one on it. You know, just in case

Im not to bothered about it getting scracthed now if its plastic But I should buy some, just in case

I have always put a screen protector on the front and the back. I buy big ipad screen protector and cut them to size for foth size
I got glass in front and regular screen protector on the back of mine so that I still can use most cases without issues.

Some of them look very impressive, like carbon or brushed metal finish, im just afraid its very hard to apply and it wont be as nice as it looks on the picture, so please, if you used them before let me know more! Thank you

My mother use to have something like this
If you have a nice quality one they feel and look nice however they are as hard to apply as a screen protector in a dusty area

i usualy find outside or open rooms with no breeze are fine since there is less dust floating around in the air
also i usually line up the left or right sides when allowing stuff like this (top and bottom shows less results)
